Can't seem to flash custom boot animation - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I initially thought it was because but I've been running Anonorom and Siyah 1.8.9 and tried to flash some boot animations via TWRP and whilst they flashed ok the actually boot animation stays at stock.
Tried the dual boot animation on the pimp my ROM app but no luck, why is this?

Help needed for cwm recovery.

My cwm recovery used to work it was the latest version. Recently I tried using rom manager to flash my first rom. Well it turns out that I think rom manager screwed up my cwm recovery. Now every time I go into recovery it just shows pixels like appearing lil by lil and it turns green. Any way to fix this? And I was wondering if I re install cwm the way I did before with Odin will it mess my phone up? Or will it work. Help!!

Try reflashing your phone with an official firmware then Root it like how you did before and install CWM. It will work.
Next time dont mess with Rom Manager when you already have CWM.

Then there is nothing to worry. Download the official firmware, Flash it via Odin, (CWM would be removed) Wipe from recovery, Reboot.
Then root it and Install CWM like normal how you did it before.
Will work 100% !

How to safely change rom that have different kernals?

So I have been using ICS Crumble which it has it's own kernal. And Now I want to use a different rom that uses a different kernal. How would I do this safely?
If it is a CM9 ROM from the development forum then you can just flash it. The kernel will be replaced automatically

But wouldn't that cause boot looping if i use odin since after I'm done it'll reboot? Or should I just use
Recovery to put them both? If so should I do the kernal first?

Which ROM are you trying to flash? If it is Odin flash able then it will just replace the kernel you currently have. You will only have issues if you flash a ROM without an inbuilt kernel

Boot Animation Problem in Cyanogenmod

I had CM9 running on my phone. I flashed the experimental build of CM10 by codeworkx.
Everything works fine but I am still getting the CM9 Boot animation on CM10.. Help !
Lol, they haven't added the new animation as it's a "experimental" build...

As above, and why not look in About Phone for confirmation?

If you read the thread, the cm team hasn't implemented the new boot animation into the cm10 build yet
