same problem here

My P760 does it too.
V10c, branded by P4 from Poland.

I have the same

Friends, I guess you are on P765 V10D like L9 should currently be in the box.
see some links in my signature...
1) Flash P765V10C on your P765 with offline fix method.
2) Root it and install CWM by Artas.
3) Then do CWM Backup Restore of P765V10G.
Dont forget to take backup of your device (sms/mails, etc) before starting.
V10G is latest rom for P765 Asia and with above method you will be on Rooted V10G India, like me .
Everything works beautifully like how it should work, like my P765
EDIT: Even after updating to LATEST OFFICIAL STOCK ROM, your problem with this important hardware persists, you should send it back to SERVICE CENTER.

One Question cmahendra
Does service center accept rooted mobiles for repair ( online I read its warranty voids when rooted)
Second question
is the Rooting process reversible?
means If I rooted my fone then I have some technical/legal implications and I have to take it back to Original settings or Undo rooting.
Is it possible with our fone?
Thx in advance for replying. But I m mentally preparing to go ahead with rooting after some initial check.

No!! rooting voids warranty in most countries for most devices.
If you are not rooted right now. Simply go and get it replaced or repaired. No phone should come with not working camera, either its on factory rom or after OTA update.
If you are rooted, flash to latest V10G India rom or whichever version it came with, wipe all data and apps by doing HARDRESET and send it to service center. Also remove your ext memory card. Hope this helps

I have same problem on P765. I m from India. Just bought this phone two months ago. I never have been success to take 3-4 pictures, camera hangs in between and says " Camera has stopped unexpectedly" !!!!!

Unroot (get brand firmware back)

Hi.
I bought my X10 for about 2 weeks ago.
I needed rooting to get ridd off some links and apps installed by Telenor(my subscriber in Norway)
My question is, do i need to unroot it if i want to send it to service?
I used a guide on this forum to root it. with id : 717949
Maybe that rooting process dosen't take backup of my old ROM?
And when 2.1 or 2.2 come from Sony Ericsson is there any problems with my rooted phone, or can i just use Sony's updater to get my phone unrooted at that point?
Thanks for all reply's
Use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740240
Unbelieveably easy.
But first update your phone to 026 with SEUS, Sony Ericsson Update Service.
Ha dé.
Forgot this, rooting does not make backups of your ROM.
But the "One click root" just requires one more click to be unrooted.
Dead easy. (but the first time I ran it, I had to run it twice... )
It seemed that it rooted and unrooted the first time I tried it.
So I just ran it again.
All is fine now.
thanks
I know about this one click rooting program.
but when i have used the method on this forum called (Newbies guide to rooting) i don't have a backup of my Branded ROM?
Can i use a Generic-Nordic ROM to make my X10i unrooted again? for service purposes?
I don't need my phone subscriber's ROM, I just wan't a way to get my phone ready for service if i need it

Dont worry , be happy.
Why do you worry about servicing, have you EVER serviced an SE phone that often before?
BTW, by the way, the root method I referred to has a button called Unroot.
If your phone needs servicing, do you think you will be able to reflash it before sending it to to service ?
you've got a point

[Q] Need help rooting FRG83 (2.2.1) on P500

Hi, guys.
My phone has been updated this week via lg official updater and I can't seem to root this thing using simple means. I've used superoneclick, z4root and rageagainstthecage (including manual adb method and gui).
Hope people can help. The firmware in suspect is V10E_00.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Guys, even me.. after an official update nothing worked to root my O1 (z4root, superoneclick, etc...) so what I did is downgrade the ROM to 10a but nothing to do.. still the same untill I found this topic http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-roms-hacks/43108-how-root-lg-optimus-s.html - follow step by step instructions and you'll root your P50x. It worked for me.. hope it will work even for you.
Cheers.
nope
Sorry zeule but this is not worikng on V10N (FRG83).
After runing ./rageagainstthecage (a milion times..) the phone must be restarted in order to run adb again....

Guys, if you want a rooted phone, in this case downgrade the firmware.. it's easy, I rooted the phone and installed a custom ROM.. much better than the standard.. even rooted standard ROMs do suck
It's just a matter of taste. One minus is that branded ROMs use more resources (sometimes a little, other times many (like HTC sense)).

I understand that Zeule, but if there was a way to directly root this (without having to go to flash back to v10b then install custom recovery, then flash to custom ROM), that would be great.
I don't want to set everything up again: contacts, customizations, etc...
@ameragorn: I've downgraded to v10b before. My contacts and other customizations weren't altered in anyway. It's only when using custom roms that they were lost since it was expected from the data wipe. The good thing is that I had the forsight to sync my contacts with a gmail account I set up just for contacts. You can go back to v10b to get root access or you can wait for a successful method to be devised for rooting v10e.
Easiest way for me to back up contacts and also existing messages is by using MyPhoneExplorer app. Just do a backup there, and once you wiped everything out, just restore it in your phone. No hassle at all.

exactly. flashing to the custom rom will wipe some stuff out. i'm not just referring to contacts, included are messages, customizations i did re-arranging the apps on the menu w/ categories, not to mention data on my apps...
i'll wait around for a successful method of rooting this as it is. same goes when gingerbread comes.
thanks to all who suggested going to custom ROM, i just prefer not to go that route.

one-click rooting will not work...you need to do manual rooting. Mine updated to v10e but since i was using custom rom it did not affect my device being rooted.

[Q] Missing Software Update option in Settings Menu!

Greetings,
first of all my GS2 is running stock 2.3.3, locked/unrooted!
I noticed that there was no "software Update" option in Settings > About Phone..in fact I couldn't find it anywhere!
I then did a factory reset of the phone...still no go. Removed the battery/SIM, rebooted, still nothing.
Will I *still* be able to update via KIES Desktop once the ICS update is available?
Thanks in advance!

I know but I got my phone last august and it was running this version...most GS2 in canada runs this one stock
unrooting
Sorry to reply late but this is same problem I faced. The reason was I unrooted the rooted phone and the unrooter could not recover it completely. What I did is mentioned in following sequence.
1) In January 2012, I rooted the my LG Optimus 2x phone. Installed CWM (ClockWorkMod) and took backup of original ROM and kept safe aside. The rooting was done with SuperOneClick.
2) After that at least 50 times changed various roms like Customized Stock, CM, MIUI, etc.
3) Just last month August 2012, I just wanted to update to new new official stock (V20i) in India so I restored the ORIGINAL ROM from backup in CWM and then unrooted with "R1: Stock Recovery Image - By Paul O'Brien" which was super smooth without any unrooting issue. But now the SOFTWARE UPDATE option is missing. I still dont have solution on this problem may be some expert may suggest the solution.
The most possible reason I can guess here is the UNROOTING methods are not fully recovering the mod signatures.
Whoever are having this problem is possible that they might have purchased the used phone from a person who might have ROOTED it and simply UNROOTED it before selling to next owner. I am not expert and I may be wrong but this is just what I think is possible according to my own experience.

[Q] un rooting from back up

Okay so I have had the Samsung intercept HTC one v and now the lg optimus l9. I rooted my intercept but never did anything with the root other than use WiFi tethering. Didn't root my HTC cuz the process required a computer and was going to be complicated. Now I've rooted my lg through lgpwn using the back up app I also made a back up of my phone before I rooted. Now I'm rooted and have played with a few simple things(fonts greenify uninstalling system apps) but haven't done any custom ROMs. I also made a newbie mistake and changed my boot animation withought backing up. Then today T-Mobile informed me of an update to latest lg software. I tried the update and got the dead android screen so I took battery out and restarted it now its working fine. So now my question is since it was rooted by restoring from a backup will it unroot if I install my present root system back up? I deleted a few system apps some are backed up with titanium back up but most are not. They all were market apps that came preinstalled. Will they be restored if this restore method works? And if that method won't work what would be the easiest way to restore the boot animation and update to latest software. Most of the talk about ROMs is way over my head so I need an opinion on the best option. Thanks
Can nobody help me?

Hello seth,
If your L9 is rooted, then no any native LG backup app can remove root. If you have backed up your data with titanium backup then it only can restore system app, it also can't remove root. If you want to get back to stock, then you will have to download kdz of stock rom and flash it using lg flash tool. For help and tutorials search general thread section of L9 over xda.
Good luck buddy

[Q] [Troubleshoot] Can't root or unroot my phone

About a month ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Grand(the single sim version) with the help of Klingo Root, worked like a charm and had no problems at all. I even uninstalled all the bloatware samsung and the carrier had installed. About 3 weeks ago then an official update poped-up, so I updated my phone through Samsung Kies. Everything went fine, but after the reboot of the phone I noticed that all the bloatware was back, so I just figured, maybe i have to uninstall it again.
But then disaster struck SuperU said there is no SU Binary installed, so I though could have the update unrooted my phone? So I tried rooting it again with Klingo, doesn't work, I tried Framaroot, doesn't work either, I even tried to install Clockworkmod with Odin and it doesn't work. I even repeated the procedure while factory resetting my phone.
Has anyone else encountered this? It seems my phone is somewhere in between being unrooted and rooted? Everything else works fine.
Help! I just want to uninstall the carrier bloatware!

When you update your software it actually update your firmware. So the previous method will not work for this firmware.
1. you need to do it with different method if developers found it for you
2. just installed previous version of android .
3. May be fixed by factory reset..
4. You can even install prerooted custom rom like CM11
As per my experience new update will not that much compactible for all phones..
Hi, I'll start from the beginning, so I have a smart phone vodafone 2 (Alcatel V860) I wanted to upload the new software but accidentally I uploaded a backup of the tablet, after uploading the backup phone can not be connected as the flash mode, or in any way, you can not enter the recovery can not in any way connect the computer, the phone is as if dead. when I connect it to the computer when it is turned off the sound indicating that a new device has been detected, however, this software can not be installed. I hope that there will be a magician who already had a similar problem and knows what to do. Please help as soon as possible, if anyone knows what's going on I can talk about it on skype because it seems to me that it will be hard to even describe.
Thanks in advance.
