[REQ] Resized LWP Asus Day Scene - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

link
APK located in those threads that work with the Note Tab.
I think this might just be a resolution issue, I looked at how to get this LWP to work for Nexus 7/you just change the DPI of the system. I tried playing around with different DPI's on my N2 and it would load without FC, but it was super zoomed in. Since we got auroa working, any chance of someone resizing this to work with the note 2?

ok
link dont work

fixed it

I made some adjustments to the dimensions of the background images (both the resources & in the code) and was able to reduce the size of the original apk considerably. The end result is being able to run the LWP without having to adjust DPI settings on my Nexus7. Perhaps this modified apk will work for your Galaxy Note 2 as well.
Update: I've attached a version with the background resized to 1024x600. I also attempted to remove the smallest width dp layout selector. I've been away for a while, so my skills are a bit rusty and I can't promise that any of this will make a bit of difference.

thanks for the effort but it doesnt work

i can get it to load by messing around with the dpi settings, however, it is super zoomed in. i think it is on a leaf or a blade of grass. if i don't mess around with the dpi, it just FC. progress.

works
hey thanks for your effort
it works now but its too small
for note 2 it needs to be 1440 by 780
please try to fix it cause i do love this wallpaper
your work is appriciated

Update from js. He said he has been busy lately and hasn't had a chance to work on it. He will once he gets some time, so we just need to be patient.

Not much changed from my previous post. Since I removed the smallest width dp layout selector from the 1024x600 layout and folks reported that it worked, I applied the same change to the 1280x800 version. I also further reduced the size of the background images to reduce the resource demands of the wallpaper.
I ran down the battery on my Nexus 7, so I wasn't able to test this one. Let me know if/how it works.

It's so cool. Can u make this work on sgs3 please

The images in the original are actually pretty big and the sizes are also hard coded in the application. I resize both in my version.

I mean if you want it to line up with your wallpaper you have to rotate it 180 and flip it horizontally. At least that's how all the images in the m10 are. Also I suspect this does not work with Sense 3.5 ROMs?
does not work on 3.5 thanks i'll add that

doesn't a vertical flip (mirror) do the same as a 180 rotate and horizontal flip?

Well images in m10 are flip 180 degrees and mirrored, don't ask me why thats just the way they are. I'm gonna try it an see. I've been wanting to make a few more of my wallpapers into weather wallpapers and this will make it easier.
So the above produced the attached image. Otherwise the text would have been reversed.

yeah this definitely makes it easier and faster to change those three images...and i just tested on photoshop and rotating 180 degrees and flipping horizontally does the exact same thing as just flipping the image vertically

??? Anyone ??? Enlarge The System Display itself? All Is So Small?

I find this odd.
Even though the screen is bigger, why does most things seems smaller?
I know how to text enlarge w/fonts...
though so many apps are TINY in writing and size in general.
Most of my apps display smaller than my Samsung Infuse.
One apps (Amazon is so tiny, i cant even see the text)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to manipulate?
I came from the Infuse also but don't notice the same problem. There are some apps, however, that aren't written properly and do have tiny fonts...but only a few that I've seen.
You could try Settings:Accessibility:Font size which will change the font size for the Calendar, Email, Contacts, Messaging apps.
someone told me about the app Fontsize....it increases the font size in pretty much all areas of the phone...its just under 2 dollars in the market. but it works great. i got it for my mom at one point when she got the note and was complaining about the same things.
Try adjusting your DPI to 340
that would def makes sense. ..cjanging dpi.
i didnt know there was am option for such.
question? How? Simple setting thing or a one to the world of mods? any add'l info...much alpreciated 4 sure....

You need to be rooted to adjust dpi. Then just download an app like LCD Density to set
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I thought I read someone was having a similar issue and related it to certain apps seeing your phone as a tablet! I'll try to find a link to that thread for you. If you were rooted and not comfortable editing your build.prop then as mentioned in previous post the LCD density app would do it.

If you start seeing problems with the market (apps not showing up), go back to default DPI, clear Market Data, reboot, hit the Market, do your thing, then set your DPI back. Repeat every N weeks/days.

CHANGE DPI - Phone App FC Fix..

I want to change the LCD Density on my Galaxy Mega 6.3 that natively has 240 DPI resolution. Its all a bit small for me and some apps doesn't even scale properly and are ridiculously small and not properly displayed. I come from an old original Galaxy Tab 7 (that also natively has 240 DPI resolution but with with much more readability and larger everything as it has a larger display with a lower resolution LCD)
I am using an app called Resolution Changer (and have tried a few other similar apps that do the same job and work fine) to set the the phone to 260 or 280 DPI.At these resolutions (for me) the Mega is much more usable and all looks bit bigger and better on screen. Even the formatting of some apps that at 240 DPI look awkward and have some elements displaced or ridiculously small, at 260 or 280 DPI look MUCH better.
Everything works perfectly well at these settings except the Samsung Phone/Contacts/Messaging & Camera apps that FC. The Messaging and Camera apps don't matter because I simply use a 3rd party app and the problem gets instantly solved. However the Phone/Contacts app is a real problem because the phone becomes useless as "phone".. and using a 3rd party dialer doesn't fix the problem because these add-on dialers still need the native phone app to actually make/receive a call (basically Android 3rd party dialers are actually just a skin on top of the native phone app).
Is there a known workaround for this? I have no idea how to fix this and think that Samsung locking their apps at a fixed resolution that cant be changed is really stupid. Samsung makes great hardware and horrible software..
Thanks in advance for any feedback or solution on this on how to make it work.

I still haven't done it. The problem is I have no idea where to get these files. I guess my best optionis to download an S3 4.2 ROM and try extract them.. would be a lot easier if someone could share these files already from an S3 ROM. But so far no luck. I have no idea what ROM to choose or if then I can simply extract the apks with WinRAR or another zip utility.. so this is where I am right now..

[Q] Anyone tried playing with the lcd_density

I changed mine to 480 and everything looks real good but as I figured most if not all of the LG/Verizon apps force.
Was wondering if there as any magic number that may allow these apps like contacts to work? I just don't understand why these manufactures create these big beautiful high-res display then blow everything up so people can read then from across the room.
Thanks

530 seems to be working great for me. Read that anything lower messes with the LG apps. Some have used xposed to have per app dpi settings.

Side note, I found that trickster mod works for changing the LCD colors. No gamma, but I think my display looks a little better now.

MIUI 7 Change DPI and the side effects?

Hi all,
I have found a way to change the dpi without root, just using adb and cmd and it worked like a charm...well, almost. There are a couple of UI glitches that appear when you reduce (or increase for that matter) the dpi.
Firstly, the icons on the home screen mess up, but that's not SUCH an issue as you can install another launcher or in my case, find an icon pack that doesn't show the mess up quite as much (my preferable choice because you see the icons set in different areas of the UI, such as the notifications shade and recents menu, settings, etc.)
Secondly, and the most annoying, is the crop function messes up in the weirdest way. Whether it be when changing wallpaper or trying to crop a picture in CamScanner, the image you choose appears zoomed in and there is no way to zoom out or even move the image around, only zoom in further.
Now, my question is, has anyone managed to find a suitable dpi that MIUI does not have a problem with, or are there some standard dpi's MIUI uses apart from 480? Or has anyone found a way around any of these issues (or any other issues they may have encountered when changing the dpi)? Last but not least, is there a custom version of MIUI out there, or a rom that has it's visuals (and camera app) but custom tailored to suit various dpi's and other modifications?
I really cannot live with the stock dpi of 480, it's like using a phone made for old people, waaaay too large EVERYTHING on a large screen, I want to see more on a large screen. But I also am not yet prepared to go off MIUI as I really like their UI, visually, and I know any other rom will lose a lot of camera quality amoungst some other things like battery life, etc.
Thanks guys in advance for any advice.

No, the original is 480, which is too large...where did you get the number 386 from? perhaps it is another one of their phone's stock DPI, which means MIUI might not warp on this DPI value? Will check it out, but any information you have, please let me know

Just to be sure - phone has to be in FASTBOOT mode to accept ADB commands from PC right?
used some of the suggested DPI's but...
so, thanks guys, used some of the suggested DPI values, 386 and 375, and mostly everything works fine....except still some small issues with the icons and the cropping. try and set a wallpaper for a whatsapp group for example, photo shows as zoomed in and cannot zoom out to choose a crop of the WHOLE image like I used to....have attached some screenshots of what happens to my icons....is this possibly because I am not rooted that the DPI value is not getting set in to the system correctly? Is anyone who is rooted facing the same issues or not?
might convince me to root, this is the first device i have managed to be happy without rooting lol

No, no need....as long as you have ADB drivers installed and you are launching the CMD from within the ADB folder, it will work. Oh and of course USB debugging enabled and the first time it tried to access the phone for ADB details, you will need to allow it to by hitting remember and ok on the phone

The original isn't near 386. I went down to 380 and everything it far smaller than a 6 dpi difference. I'd say stock is closer to 430 - 450
Yes man, you was right the original DPI is 440, the app textdroiderDPI was showing me an incorrect value of 386 (maybe a little bug...).
Setting it on 440 with LeDpiChanger gave me a full stock MIUI size
