When you are downloading Viper Rom do I have to run the boot image or can I ignore it if I already have DNA LK_DNA 0.9.4?

Install boot image that is with Viper, then flash viper, Do I then wipe factory/user and cache, then install LK?

If lk is already flashed to your phone, you do not need to flash the .img that comes with Viper. But you do need to flash the lk modules after you flash Viper. I did exactly this, only with dsb kernel, without issues.

I haven't done the ok yet but I flshed the viper boot.img and then viper Rom, my phone is having a glitch that errors out WiFi, it would try to turn on WiFi forever then error it out eventually, plus is there a way to get rid of numbers of home screens with aosp launcher?

If you are having Wi-Fi problems usually means the modules for the kernel are mismatched.

Thanks, As soon as I installed the LK module it fixed it self.
Now I see that you are using TW recovery, I'm suing CWM touch, which one is more compatible/stable?

I think at this point the kinks have been worked out of both recoveries. It's personal preference, I like TWRP and have never had any issues flashing with it.

I have to ask, are you sure you're running the gb rom bamf 2.1?

haha yeah i understand deff a gb rom. its v2.1 of the rom but it is 2.3.4 android. and it is stuck there than comes up with a force close window and stays there. and i flashed it through recovery, as if i am flashing a rom. if this is not the correct way i am going to feel ridiculous...

So it eventually booted and you got a force close? If so, that's strange, never experienced that.
If you get stuck again just reflash the rom without wiping data. It will restore the kernel that came with the rom.

You flashed it right. I had issues with a Chingy gingerbread ROM doing that same thing. No idea why. I think it might have something to do with the base. Not real familiar with that BAMF ROM. I had a little luck flashing a different kernel. Sometimes my only option was to wipe and restore. What kernel are you trying to use?
yeah, like it came up with the force close window but never went through a boot screen nor did it boot to the rom, but you can see that the screen is on. but it says black than the force close window pops up but doesnt allow you to select either of the options

If you still have the rom on your sd card manually boot into recovery and reflash the rom. Power + volume down then scroll down to recovery.

Ok, sorry to be noobish, but how would I flash the Viper kernel? I'm only familiar with flashing zipped flashable kernels.
Just like you normally flash roms and kernels.
you can pull out the boot.img that comes in the viper2.0 rom.
I've been hearing people having screen tearing issues with evilz kernel and viper2.0.
IMHO i think the stock rom kernels are always optimized to the point where their battery life is great.

Non stock kernels can add features way beyond stock. Not just battery but other things. I am a believer in kernels, you just got to find one that works with your setup.
Now that said evilz didn't agree with my phone, hoping to find some time to start work on a new kernel.

[q] help! Stuck in bootloop!

So starting yesterday my droid dna has been stuck in a boot loop. I just bought it about 5 days ago.
It was rooted and running supercharged HTC sense rom and stock kernal.
I tried everything I could find online.
I relocked bootloader and restored rom using the RUU exe that everyone links, I re-unlocked installed the rom again to see if that would work and it allowed maybe 2 full boots out of 100+ tries occasionally it booted up and had several crashes on the supercharged that included the custom AC!D sound mod adn the UI would lock up if I tried to make or answer a call. I tried re-restoring with the RUU. all fastboot commands worked fine with no error on restoring the bootloader and recovery etc.
NOTHING is working. Please help for the love of my brand new droid dna which has already boot looped...
Have you tried just restoring from your backup? The one you made before flashing the rom
And just curious. Did you dirty flash it? What recovery are you using?

There's a discussion in that thread about the developer including the kernel in the rom, doing that won't flash the kernel. It doesn't look like the instructions were updated to reflect that. Try Supercharged Hatka, made by the same developer along with Mustafa.
I managed to get it to boot up as stock with a 2nd relocking using fastboot oem lock and the RUU.exe. Haven't had any issues yet. I will see if anything goes wrong. Made a few calls and restored off gmail account.
Now that you got it running don't use that Rom this time, try Supercharged Hatka or Viper.

Maybe. There are so many boot.img files floating around things get mixed up and sometimes you forget what kernel you're running until you look at the About phone menu. It would be nice if they could be named appropriately.

The ones that don't have S-OFF are for flashing the old way using fastboot commands. They are different in the fact that the S-OFF versions have a script that will flash the boot.img and the WiFi Modules.
Zone23, thank you for the info. So, S-OFF are to be flashed straight via recovery without any additional steps. Where these kernels modified in any way or are they truly straight from the factory image?

Interesting. Let us know how it works out for you. Perhaps the real incompatibility is using an old kernel (1.x) on a newer (2.04) rom (reports of flickering screens, broken wifi).
Sounds like using a 2.04 kernel on an older rom is ok.
Unfortunately, that means that until source is released, we won't see the variety of kernels that will work in the newewr, 2.04 based roms that are being developed now.

Why is this so confusing?
I am rooted with S-Off and unlocked
I did not get the OTA.
I did install the new radio only (1.01.01.0110)
Can I install the 2.04 s-off version though TWRP?
I guess the confusing part is being pre-ota and not wanting to brick or wipe my phone, while having the updated kernel and modules.

I'm running this kernel on Trickdroid 3.0.1, flashed with Dumlock fine. However I have no in-call sound through the earpiece. If I enable speakerphone I can hear everything fine, and it works through BT, just not through phone earpiece

Not sure if this has even been explored yet but I've read qualcomm fast charge has been disabled for the One. Can anyone confirm this and is there a kernel mod to enable this?
