i also faced the same problem, so i tried from htcdev.com and followed the steps. U will find the three files required for htcdev.com in the toolkit after extracting it. So just follow the steps from there and u will be able to successfully unlock your bootloader. After successfully unlocking u can proceed with the htc desire v all in one kit to install clockworkmod and so on.

Keep the folder of toolkit in C: drive
of ur computer and then try it.... The problem should b solved

Evo V 4G Root and Bootloader Unlock Guide?

Hey all,
So I've got the Eco V for Virgin and I'm looking to put some custom Roms on it but I'm very confused as to where to start. I know there's an all in one tool for the Desire HD to unlock the bootloader and to root it, but I'm curious to if there is a similar method to the Evo V. Thanks for the help!

I also need help rooting my HTC Evo V. Androidforums is down. Is there anyway to downgrade the hboot to 1.4 to use the revolutionary s-off method? I want to still be able to flash GB roms. Thanks. I'm a newbie to the Evo V

You're could use the guides on androidforums.com, but I have a simplified guide here on XDA for rooting and S-OFF that works fine for the Evo V 4G.

You can easily do all this all by yourself without the need of a All In One toolkit. You just have to install the SDK tool and learn how to do it manually.
Check this out!
DON'T USE THE ONE X TOOL FOR THE ONE X PLUS YOU WILL END UP WITH BIGGER PROBLEMS!

[Q] Black screen when booting into recovery.

Hey Guys,
Just unlocked bootloader on my one x+ (international)
When I attempt to boot into recovery to root I just get the HTC start animation then a black screen. This applies for when I boot from desktop straight to recovery or for Hboot. I used Hasssoon2000's tool. Would it be worth relocking bootloader and trying a different method?
Thanks

1. Unlock your bootloader
2. Choose your HOX+ Internation or ATT/TELUS model which is now using.
Follow the step won't be problem as well.
Thanks for your replies but I've tried the international recovery. Bootloader is unlocked. I've searched all over web for an answer. Never seen it before.

Your situation same as me when still noob, having the same problem.
But that time I flash the HOX and not HOX+....
After that, I found they cannot use the same recovery, so I use Hasoon AIO Kit and solved.

I followed Step 3 on these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426377 and managed to get root after running Clockworkmod on the SuperSU.zip file that was dropped in from the RecoveryInstallerForNoobs.zip file.
For rooting help contact @ravike14

Go to Cyanogen Mod official website ... You can get a whole lot information there... !!! its is the only rom which is providing jellybean 4.1.2 on AMAZE 4g
Please read the "pinned" threads located at the top of the various forums. All of the info you seek is located there. The brief reader's digest version is as follows: You need to download and have a working adb setup. You also need some drivers from the HTC website. While there you need to register as a developer and follow the instructions. If followed correctly they'll give you a binary blob that you need to push to your phone from windows to unlock your bootloader. You'll still be s-on but unlocked. Then depending on which version of the amaze you have and which version of android is currently running on it there are different procedures for attaining s-off, which is a requirement if using a non-T-Mobile US device. After you've gotten those things in order you can begin flashing.
None of this is difficult, but it does require reading on your part, and nobody here is going to hold your hand, especially if they see you haven't made any effort by at least reading the instruction threads.
Just flash the SuperSU.zip file via recovery. For some customs roms, you won't need to root your phone before flashing, your phone will automatically get root access one you flash them. All you will need is having a custom recovery .

Actually you're not quite on point. Without unlocking your bootloader you can't flash a recovery and smartflash on 4ext doesn't work properly without a working busybox and superuser. So after unlocking and flashing or pushing a superuser apk you need to also install busybox too or smartflash can't write to the protected partitions.
I think everyone knows they cannot flash a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader first.

LOL you'd be surprised what kind of questions get asked here and how often the same ones are repeated, especially in this forum where newbies can post until eligible for the other forums. Look and see how many threads and individual posts are here, the vast majority are the same basic questions asked over and over by those who've never bothered to read the information posts pinned to top of each forum.
You are right.

HTC Amaze Hasoon2000 S-off All-in-one Toolkit
I want to s-off my htc amaze mobile set. can anybody give link to download HTC Amaze Hasoon2000 S-off All-in-one Toolkit 1.1 from the website? will be grateful.
You can't s~off the amaze with a tool kit, you have to use the wire trick using the joupunut bear program. No other way around it, check YouTube you'll find a video tutorial
