Make sure you flash right one odexed or deodexed.

Re: 1% Battery Mod for all android 4.1.2 JB 98.72.8
I flashed with odexed since I'm on a stock ROM that I've only debloated and switched to RazrM launcher. Once I flash the icon will change automatically correct?

I deleted the file I originally downloaded and re-downloaded the odexed version again. I reset my phone to a backup I had made and then reflashed this. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!! I am not sure what happened the first time around but obviously it was on my end. Thanks a lot for this post. I couldn't be happier.

Re: 1% Battery Mod for all android 4.1.2 JB 98.72.8
Gives you the ability to have 1% increments on your battery. You know: 98, 57, 56, 3...

I believe this Is the cause on my OTA being rejected, the install aborts with an erorr in /systemui .... or something to that affect.
Anyway to remove it so I can OTA?

Seams like it, in my case at least.
This is the only real modification I had on my system and the error was referring to /systemui or something.

Which ROM should I chose?

Hi,
I need an official unlocked Jelly Bean ROM that includes arabic. Which one should I chose? I'm from France, is this important to chose a ROM?
Thanks a lot
Mar7aba ya akhui
If you just want to able to write (and read) in Arabic, any jelly bean ROM will do. You will just need to download one of the many keyboard options from the market that allow you to write in Arabic. However, if you want the android system and menus to display in Arabic you should be able to get that from any stock ROM for your device. Aokp and cm10 don't seem to offer that .

Thanks for your answer and Mar7aba!
In fact I do want the android system to be in arabic and my version of android does not do that. I was able to do it with my french version by modifying system files, but I want a version of the ROM that offers the possibility without editing or adding anything.
Can you help?
Chokran! : )
I'll be happy to help in any way I can. What version of the sg3 do you have? I have the t999 (T-Mobile) and I'm pretty sure the stock Samsung jelly bean Rom for my device (recently released) offered it...as well as any custom ROM built off it. I used the stock ROM for a day before flashing back different aokp ROM so I can't say for sure.
What ROM are you on now, and have you tried the stock Samsung touch wiz jelly bean update (or any custom ROM based on it) for your version of the device?

For example, if you have the international version, I9300, than this ROM (link below) might be good for you. You could ask there on that forum if it has Arabic...though if it does only an Arabic reader will be able to read it to tell you!
I would be surprised if it didn't.

In fact I found the solution : I just flashed an Official UK ROM and it did the trick!
Anyway, thanks for trying to help!
Great. I was thinking that would do the trick ie. any official ROM should have the option.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately not. For instance, French Stock ROMs have not the possibility neither to chose to run the system in arabic nor to have an arabic keyboard (without installing an app) while UK stock ROMS have much more choice it the language menu!

Getting mods on stock XXELL4(H3G)

After playing around with ultima rom and a few others I found out that my phone was slow in the Internet and really I like stock twiz
The only problem is I also like the stock jb lock screen abd was wondering if its possible to have stock XXELL4 from my network but root it and have these mods?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Just root your stock ROM and install whatever mods you want (that are compatible with LL4).
edit: For example, Jkay Deluxe framework (in the Original Dev section) has a stock JB lockscreen option.
I tried but some said I have to delete the system.oexde or something I did that rebooted and the notification bar disappeared

Oh sorry I forgot about that. You need to be running a deodexed ROM for several of these mods (I flash nothing but custom ROMs so I just naturally assume the ROM is already deodexed). You can download stock/rooted deodexed ROMs from this forum. Example threads are here and here.
my current baseband is i9300NELK2 build number is JZO54K.I9300XXELL4
how do i match this which is the csc modem and pda

[Q] Installed custom rom over stock

I installed cm 10.1 over my stock rom via SS accidentally without having a backup... Now I`m running cm 10.1 on stock alot and slot 1, but only the slot one works (as supposed).
I had eclipse v4 ICS rom installed on stock, which i did via BMM, and now I`m not sure what to do.
Since the rom installed on slot 1 (cm 10.1) is working with no issues, I`m leaving it this way for a while, but I`d really like to clean up installations in future to install JB on stock with no slots, since I`d have more internal space available.
So the question is: What do I have to do to clean up my razr gsm and start over from a clean JB on stock slot (LATAM, isn`t released yet, right?).
And finally, should I face any issues if I install EU JB release?
Thanks in advance!
If you want to start fresh you have to go to stock recovery and full wipe, the flash your stock latam firmware of choice..

How do I know which is the latest Latam? Which is the difference between 6.5.1, 6.7.2 and 6.7.3? ICS, JB (4.1.2) and JB (4.2.2)?
Sorry for so many questions

i think the 6.7.2 one, because i flashed retail eu ics and the number is 6.7.2
Well, I`m trying 6.7.2-180_SLC-35_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip... All I should do is restart phone on AP Fastboot, full wipe and flash it? (RSD?)
Btw, do I have to uninstall SS or delete rom slots?

Modifying stock rom

Can I insert framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from another rom into one of the stock ones or does it need further modding? I want to go fully stock, except I like the systemui and framework of another rom. This is just for my own enjoyment as I am not planning on releasing a rom.
If i understood you correct: You want to put systemui.apk and framework-res.apk from lets say CM10.1 into stock rom lets say LSS. In this case you will have to mod it since CM10.1 is based on 4.2.2 and LSS is based on 4.1.2
ps. correct me if im wrong

I want to copy those two files from a modified stock rom (say neatrom) into a stock rom, both based on 4.1.2

A modified stock rom is usually deodexed so just copying and replacing won't work, you will have to reodex it, generate and flash it via a signed zip file(Basically a major pain in the neck) or if you are using using a deodexed stock it will be easy as copy pasting.

thx for the info. Is there any way to easily deoxed it? I was planning to grab one from sammobile, so it would be 100% stock.

Easiest way to deodex for me is to rebuild the tar file in android kitchen and by using the deodex option in it.
I think the non-lite version of NeatRom latest is just a deodexed stock rom, basically installing a deodexed rom is better, as it's easier to mod, the only disadvantage is the slower boot time(usually only after wiping the dalvik cache).
Edit : I won't advice you to use kitchen unless you have basic scripting knowledge or something about building roms, just search around for a pure deodexed stock rom, which should be easily available.
Edit :100% pure stock is odexed and unmodified, since you're planning on modifying one of the major stock things(framework and system ui?) why not just flash something already available?
