[Q] 3500mah same size as 4500mah...possible? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
In short: bought a 3500mah battery for my phone, love it. Saw a 4500mah version on eBay and looking at getting it. Is it possible for them to make a battery the same size as the 3500mah, but with 1000mah more juice? Or is it a scam? Everything looks the same size, and the back cover looks identical.
I bought a TPU case for the whole thing to protect it for my 3500, so if it won't fit with the 4500, I don't really want it.

I'd say no. It's not possible, in fact, the current battery you're using is also considered to not have the complete 3500mah, I read this somewhere when I was searching for good batteries back in the days.
However, could you tell me your experiences with this battery? I'm eager to buy if it's worthy. Also, if you could provide an eBay link?
Thank you

how about posting it next time on the right place:

Oh for sure...the battery is actually around 3200mah as tested by someone on here in another thread...but it's still double the stock battery.
As for what I think...I freakin' love it...my old Samsung battery was absolutely terrible...Here's usage from my Samsung Battery:
As you can see it's pretty terrible...
I must stress, though, that I would consider my usage "borderline extreme"...I send/receive on average 1000 texts per day, on the web, music, etc and the old battery just was not cutting it AT ALL. I was charging the old battery almost 3 times per day...This new battery is great...my screen on time has gone up to around 5 hours now if I'm careful and this battery will ALMOST last me all day...but still not quite...which is why I'm looking at getting the 4500mah one.
I would be kind of surprised that KINPS would lie about the battery's capabilities (by 1000mah!)...I've read about a bunch of people on here buying KINPS batteries and being happy with the results...I'll probably end up buying it anyway just to see...
I can post up pictures of the phone in it's extended battery case if you want to see how thick it is...I don't mind the extra thickness because I really need battery life...plus it adds some bulk to the phone which not everyone likes...but I do.
As for eBay links...there's tons of people selling them...

I was about to post this exact thread in that forum, but if you click the [Q] button to show that it is a question, it specifically states "This is not a Q&A forum. By posting a question in this forum you are breaking forum rules!"
I am evidently asking a question, here...even though it doesn't pertain to the software side of the I9100...I guess I'll post it up in that forum as well...but thanks for your "guidance"

Wow mate, thanks a bunch for that extensive review. The only reason I asked specifically for your eBay link is because there are a lot of other similar batteries- they may just be scam.
As for the 4500mah, if you do get it, mind giving your thoughts on it?

Sure when I get it I'll post up an extensive review on it...hopefully some others can chime in as to my original question before I purchase it.

Chichitec Slim extended battery

I havent heard of the company before so i decided to check em out. They made one for the OG Evo and they have 196 reviews, and a crap ton of 5 star reviews. I've always purchased Seidio or Platinum(same person), but i might try this one instead. They have them on their website for 19.99 and free 2-5 day shipping. For anyone who wants a lil extra battery life for cheap.
http://www.htcexpress.com/htc-battery/45-htc-evo-3d-battery-1930mah-battery-dock-usb-charger.html
this is interesting, i will keep an eye on it. I was hoping a company would be able to make a 2000mAh battery that fits OEM, but hey, this 1930mAh is closer and only for 20 bucks? I know where my first 20 from payday is goin
EDIT: Damn, looks like the battery says 1900, unlike the item title sayin 1930... oh well, still decent for 20. I don't like the cheapy ones from ebay, i've bought a 2x set and only one battery would hold a good charge.
looks good, i wanna get one -- but that site gets really bad reviews (google it)
might want to get it on amazon

5 bucks more from amazon, but its not a bad price to pay if you actually want to "recieve" your item
oops noticed something else, the voltage on the chichitec e3d battery is 3.7 but the stock battery is 3.8... that's a deal breaker for me, shouldn't be mixing and matching voltages, who knows how that will affect the device and whether the manufacturer built the phone to properly adjust for a variance in voltage:

i read something somewhere that it is not an issue and they state its 3.8, but 3.7 is the same thing and won't affect anything.
not a worry for me
Yea i went ahead and bought it from Amazon since i have a Prime Account. Ima try out the batt and see what i see. If as is well cool, if not then ill return it.
I went ahead and bought it from the Chichitec website, but only because I could use Google Checkout which makes me feel a little safer than just putting my Credit Card # on the site. Shipping is Free also.
Yea i get free 2-day shipping from Prime. But i would've liked to spend 5 bucks less. Oh well. I guess 2-day and 5 bucks more is just as good as 2-5day shipping and 5 bucks less. Oh well More battery life for me...lol
i just hesitate because 1900 mAh is 170 more than stock.. about a 9-10% increase for $20 if it is made equal to OEM quality?

Yeah let us know how it is! I'd be interested in getting an extended battery that won't require a new battery cover.

3500mah with back cover for $13.99

I ordered one. I will be pulling the sticker back to see if there is any indication that this battery is less than advertised just like on my thread about the ebay batteries I got that were supposed to be 1850mah and under the sticker it said 1000mah. I will report back when I get it and update this post with my findings.
I have been ordering stuff from Handheld Items for awhile now since their stuff are cheap and shipping is pretty damn quick.
I was thinking about ordering this as well but in the end, I decided against it because quite simply, most of them all seem to be fakes for batteries like this. I ended up just ordering from Seidio since I don't want to waste another 18.99. Of course, if someone can confirm this is actually what it says to be, I could probably return the Seidio or sell it
Looks to be the exact battery selling on ebay for around $8-12. How fast is shipping usually with these guys?
For those who can wait 2-3 weeks, here's the ebay option:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3500MAH-Extende...ccessories&hash=item3f0c5c0c07#ht_5017wt_1163
I bought an extended battery for my Evo 4G from that seller and it worked fine.
I usually get my items from them in like a week.
Ordered on the 5th and it arrived on the 9th. Not bad. I pulled the sticker off of the battery and no where does it have any thing stamped on the metal like some cheap batteries will have a much, much lower mah than the sticker says it is stamped on them. I just got. It's charging now. Give me a couple days and I'll post how it is lasing so far.
Thanks for your update housry23, please keep us posted with your results.
thanks and please keep us posted!!

Just got mine today. Haven't used it yet, but I can't use it with my external charger.
I got mine yesterday, charged it all night, so far it seems a little better (but maybe thats just me being hopeful). I'll keep testing it for a few days, wouldnt feel right making any claims until then, i have my doubts. Not sure i'll be able to deal with how big it is but if its actually a better/longer lasting battery, i may use it when i travel and stuff.
OK I've had mine a full week now and let me say, the honeymoon is over. After a few good charges this battery will have a 50/50 chance of NOT booting up and even if it does for some reason the power is so inconsistent that the phone seems to randomly cut off even at 98% power. I've recalibrated my phone a couple times and past the first couple days this battery has been horrible.
Sorry to hear that, are you going to request for an exchange? I could understand short battery life but to shut off.

^^wow that's pretty harsh, I can't justify paying +$80 for a battery. Plus the fact Ill probably be using a different phone by January. Mine should be here tomorrow, if its a dud, no big deal, Ill ask for a replacement. I hope I get a decent battery. Ill post what I think, although I don't think ill use it much since the stock gives me usually over 12 hours.
I have this combo from eBay.. charge gets better and better.. I typically have 50% left at the end if the day

Not too impressed with the battery life so far, I charged it up to 96% and went out. I lost 10% the first hour wile the phone was in my pocket. Im under clocked with the screen off 432/ conservative. That's pretty much the same or worse than the stock battery. I would expect a maximum of 5% drain in a hour while the phone is sleeping, and that's being generous. I know southern87, its "13.99 ****ing crap" lol. Ill give it a few days to see how it goes.
The back door is definitely more sturdier than the oem battery cover, but of course, not as pretty. I like the uniform shape over the funky sedio sloped cover. Now I just need a TPU case to fit the phone now.
Just to be fair, the more I use the battery the longer it goes between charges. So all in all its worth the few bucks if you are willing to deal with the extra bulk of the phone. It'll come in handy for times like camping, biking/hiking with the gps running, etc.

I'm really curious about this one.
I wouldn't mind trying it just because we don't have NFC baked into our batteries.
Although I'm not sure how it will do vs. the OEM one
consider this is near the price of a single official battery, i think this is worth a shot!
Does this require a new battery cover? If not I might pick it up.
WOW... only 2800mah x 2 pcs + charger, It's a very good deal WOW WOW WOW
Does this fit behind the stock battery cover?

From what we can tell, yes. Just higher capacity w/ the same size.
One nice thing about this is that we get to keep our NFC while boosting the battery
Has anyone got this yet and tested it? It's very tempting... although my note's battery life is better than my skyrocket...
I highly doubt it actually has a higher capacity than the OEM battery. All of the aftermarket batteries I've tried, even though claiming to have higher capacities than OEM (2900mAh), have only been ~65-75% of OEM. They seem to have no problem lying. So the best deal so far seems to be the $3 batteries on ebay.
definitely report back with some results. I would love to know if they are atleast as good as OEM although I am always really skeptical about after market batteries as I have yet to find any that work as they claim....
I would love it if a 3000mAh could fit stock.
i would agree IF it really pans out to be a 3000MAh battery however if history dictates anything... it wont...
QCell has some good reviews on Amazon. And you also get a battery charger. I think it would be worth it

Lying???? That is a terrible thing to say. Everyone knows you can get batteries for 1/4 the price and they are just as good...especially pin Ebay!
Stick with OEM on batteries for better performance. I found out the hard way a few times.

OEM are good no doubt but definitely not the best bang for the bucks. Consider price of one oem is 4 of these. Even if they are of 80% capacity of oem, it is still much more than original capacity combined
ran some tests for a week and these are faring very well. In fact with these two batteries I don't need to use my OEM ones anymore. Both batteries last as long as the OEM batteries I have. With these two, I can go out for a full day without worry of no power This is quite good of an investment for my i717 juice sucker.
Wonder when the extended battery for this is out. Will be interesting to have just one battery and that's it

Qcell Extended Battery I717 review

Hey everyone here is my little review on the Qcell "4150 mAh" Extended battery sold on Amazon.
First thing I have to say is that I WILL be updating this post as I go through charge cycles with this battery.
Upon receiving the battery yesterday, I put it to charge right away. I did a stress test on it and let it recharge once more after draining. I must say that the packaging on it is better than most "ebay" batteries that I receive. It came in a little "Qcell" pouch with the battery and cover.
Today, I tested the battery. It ran for ~18hrs 40 min with a 4 hour screen time and 3 email accounts pushing with moderate internet browsing.
I have to say at the moment, it is not worth carrying this pregnant phone around with only the ~5 hrs increase in usage time. However, I hope that after it goes through some charge cycles it will get better. The battery it self is about 1.4 cm thick(I just used a ruler and eyeballed it)
Now moving on to the cover. The back cover is white and semi close to the OEM back cover. It has no markings anywhere and is not as glossy. The back "hump" is is unlike the Mugen Extended Battery covers, it only raises the battery portion while leaving the camera/flash flush with the phone. The cover does feature the NFC however, I do not know how to test it . It also has NO kickstand.
Problems:
My main complaint at the moment is the cover IS VERY LOOSE on the phone . I do not even need to pry it apart using the corner near the volume rocker, I can literally pull it off by jiggling it from one side.
I have sent a complaint to Qcell and they are sending me a new cover so hopefully I just received a defective model.
In conclusion, the battery it self isn't too pricy and I honestly should expect a premium quality with it. The battery does it's job by outlasting the OEM/Ankers that I use but at the moment I would rather stick with my Ankers. The pregnant phone also doesn't look as attractive and slick. I also cannot use my case which makes me very paranoid about dropping it.
Let me know if you guys need any more pictures or have any questions!
Here are some picture comparisons of the battery on my phone, OEM and Extended.
P.S. sorry about the last picture, my OEM battery is still in use so I decided to grab the next closest thing, the Anker one haha.

sexy + ugly = ugly!
I rather carry a normal size spear battery in my pocket.
Update after a week of use.
After about a week of use, I can say that it honestly is not worth carrying this around. If Qcell would produce a better battery cover then I may consider going back but at the cost of my phones beauty and impracticality I'm going to have to put this battery away except for when I have no other batteries to use.
The battery has performed better(as it should) from day one. I can get a full day of heavy use which is nice, but the LOOSE battery cover just keeps me paranoid.
How this has helped you with your choice on 1 of the many extended batteries out there.
I like it
Just wanted to help out and say try it again. I had a heck of a time getting my cover on as well. I like how I can mod my old silicone case for this. And battery will hopefully get better with time.
Tip- try placing phone on flat surface and press hard on edges near battery. Mine snaps tight.
I think it would be a better idea just to get another battery. That over-sized battery just looks hideous on the phone. How were you able to put it in your pocket?

I completely agree, I have 3 ankers at my disposal along with my OEM
But I just figured I give it a shot since no one on the forums has done a review on it yet and it is also my first Extended battery for any phone I have owned.
If you have decided it is something you will not use and you would consider selling it, I am interested. I am in the hospital at the moment, but should be out by Wednesday, I will have my paycheck by then and can make arrangements with you.

If you have decided it is something you will not use and you would consider selling it, I am interested. I am in the hospital at the moment, but should be out by Wednesday, I will have my paycheck by then and can make arrangements with you.

Jb0nd38372,
They are only 11 bucks on Amazon with free shipping. I think it's cheaper than buying from me TBH. Because shipping it out to you would cost a few bucks.
Thanks for the offer tho!
Ok just thought I would offer, and I had never checked price, actually just skipped to the review part. Gotta wonder for 11 bucks wonder what they skipped on. The cells may be of the "questionable" quality.

Well for 1, the cover is crap...
and the battery is not amazing compared to my OEMS/Anker.
It sucks our phones are so thin for extended battery. Thanks for the review though, I was trying to picture the extended battery on the note. I think i'm go with 3-4 spare batteries

Haha good choice, go with Ankers or OEMs. Had the best output with them.
Just sent my QCell Batteries back to Amazon. One would not take a charge and the other one would only last 9 hours.
Picked up Anker as a replacement.

[Q] Which battery should I buy for i777?

I want a extra battery for i777.
Below is 4 batteries from Ebay, and I am not sure which is better.
I dont like the extensional battery which makes my phone thicker.
I have heard the internation battery 2000mAH for SG2 i9100 might fit on i777.
and the battery just 1mm thicker. is that truth?
The first and second look exactully like the original battery, but both of the seller told me they are not.

Which one you think is better? last longer low heat work great for the i777 Thank you!
without having any experience with those batteries, you most likely wont experience much gain in battery life even with the 1800mah. Its not enough extra juice to really make a difference.
That being said, I dont have experience with those specific batteries although i've tested others with no gain whatsoever.
As for the heat, I'm sure it wont matter either.
You should go for the 3000mah ones, they are somewhat a bit bulkier but they come with the back case for your phone. I heard they good and only cost about 8 bucks.

I am using a 3600 mAh Q-cell and have gotten two days use before with 9 hours of on screen time.
Shouldn't this thread be in accessories?

Careful about the ones from eBay, bought one and it would reset my phone when I plugged it.
I complained to the seller (from China), they sent me a new one, but this time it caused software issues and I had to restore my phone.

I think that's the best answer you're gonna get man. Unless you're hoping someone has separately tested all four of the batteries listed in your OP. If you're looking for an extra samsung brand battery I think they have them on amazon but I've never personally ordered one. I recommend buying an additional 1650mAh battery which is built for the i777. All you've got to do is replace it when the juice runs out...
I say this because it's safer to use the genuine battery on the phone.
Are u trying to get another battery to replace your current battery and use it as a primary battery are do u just want a good spare /backup battery to throw in if ya phone dies or gets low?
