My xperia U is rooted and I am using ICS (v4.04 ) 6.1.1.C.1.10 based.
It is rooted and unlocked bootloader with CWM recovery.
The problem is that in some games , the texture is NOT clear especially today, I updated Subway Surfer Rio and the textures of character and police officer chasing is NOT clear. Just boxes. The game works flawlessly and I downloaded it from Google Play. Other user suggest they have NO problems when I checked the rating. The problem also was with Assassins Creed HD
Please help and suggest the reason

When I bought it, I thought it was a bug or maybe some kind of GPU issue.
If restarting doesnot help, it means that your Xperia U is not able to handle graphics that well and the game you are playing is not made for your device [not compatible].
Therefore, there is no way to get over it.
I sold the phone already and waiting for Nexus 5 soon

I installed Gangstar from Gameloft. Then it downloaded 7MB game data and thegame started.
However, the textures are missing. Most of the cars, buildings and the player is white.
What might be the problem ?

gangstar game is not compatible with snapdragon procesor...that's why is not working...
now get a refund!
but there is a snapdragon version which I found somewhere.
with that one I get the same result: no textures...
Doesn't the HTC Desire have a snapdragon processor? That ran Gangster fine!
PS I have seen this too on the Streak!
Before I update to steve 2.2, ganster from gameloft worked great with no problem at all. That was on o2 2.1 update. Then, the same game. apk with all the files already on the memory stick had problem with texture on 2.2. If you check you an other forum, dont know if I can say the name here, they try a lot of things and the only solution was to downgrade to 2.1.
So for now, no luck.

ORLY? It worked perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy S but now I have the same problem as above, also most games I have don't work on the Streak. NFS Shift has the exact same issue as Gangstar.
What's up with gaming on the Streak anyway?
Gameloft usually comes out with two versions of apks for their games; omap based cpus (firmware droids and galaxies) and the other for snapdragon devices. Directly going to the wap site of gameloft on your android phone should let u know what games are compatible for your specific android handset.

Gangstar seems to be a little different.
I have Ashpalt 5 HD and Assassins 2 working fine, but Gangstar still has the above issue.
Working on it though.
I think the above poster is correct in that it's finding the correct APK.
is there any hope that gangstarwill ever work ?
318 rom still same white textures.. think its either opengl2.0 problem or lacking texturefiles.

Well I have a lot of their other games working, ie Dungeon Hunter, Avatar, etc..
Just seems to be Gangstar unfortunately but hopefully with enough trial and error we can uncover the correct APK.

i am new to xda developers eventhough i know it for a long time.i just bought my brand new phone on saturday.xperia sola.so here is the problem guys.for the first two days i just installed less demanding games like temple run 2,ski safari,riptide etc and played smoothly on my gingerbrad 2.3.7.then on monday i just updated it to ics 4.0.4.then the problem starts.in the play store i saw heavy games like the dark night rises,gta 3,shadowgun etc compatible for my devices so i installed this from apkmania and copied the sd files properly(checked the versions clearly on the play store before installing apk).ALL THE GAMES JUST OPENED SHOWED A BLACK SCREEN AND SAID"UNFORTUNATELY GTA3 HAS STOPPED WORKING OR TDKR HAS STOPPED WORKING ETC.EVEN FOR SHADOW GUN IT LOADED THE MENU AND WHEN CLICKED PLAY IT CAME TO HOME SCREEN AND EVEN MY LIVE WALLPAPER DISAPPEARED".i dont know what to do friends.i checked the ram and it says some 140 mb free only so i think ics hogs a lot of ram.i dont know whether my ics update was really necessary.
please help me guys i am new to android.if it is really the ics problem please help me to revert back to gingerbread .i asked the shop from where i bought and he said u could flash ur phone without root,but i dont know the procedure guys.

Because of todays scattered phone specs, it is not adviceable to buy a game before trying it out. It's true that you can get your money back for some minutes after a purchase, but hey, no one can try out a compex game in this time (you need to download gigs of data after purchase), and because of this you MAY just throw your money out of the window. I'm not advertising warez, but to be honest it has got a bright side too. I've always tried out every game before purchase, and never disappointed or lost even a penny
BTW the games the OP mentioned are working good qith xperia U, so they SHOULD run on sola too!

after 2 days of searching on the net i found a temporary solution.
I UNINSTALLED ASTRO FILE MANAGER AND SHADOWGUN WORKED! IT WAS A BIT SLOW.
THEN INSTALLED MOST WANTED AND COPIED ALL THE DATA.THE HD GAME JUST WORKS FINE FRIENDS.Now i am happy to atleast play these games.

What is wrong with them? Force closes? Also most gameloft games require additional data (hundreds of megabytes) so check whether you have them or not. Btw your English is fine

Upgrade to Android 4.1.2 and try those games again "if you bought them of course"

I have run real racing 3 and modern combat 3 on my phone and they work fine
Whats is your ROM? ics or Jb? coulb be incompatible with ICS.
Modern Combat 4 worked on ICS for me.

I doubt this has something to do with this. If this was case of 2-3 not running apps, then maybe, but problem is somewhere else.

some games from play store I have to pay,and I don't want to pay for the games when I can get them for free,

that is exactly why you are facing problems, because you have downloaded those warez games, they are most likely chienese copies or maybe for other ARM structure & won't work on your device..

Since there is already a question for this kind of problem, I would like to ask something about another game.
Subway Surfers works kind of bad on my phone, and I don't know why because it worked perfectly by now. Could it be because of it's last updates? The last timed it worked bad I factory reseted my phone, and then the game worked great, now I did this again, and nothing happened.

Maybe you have too many processes that eat your RAM and then other apps may not work properly. Get an app like Clean Master and boost your memory. If it doesn't work try factory resetting your phone. If you don't have a rooted phone your backups won't have the game data so you will lose all your progress.

you won't find them for free (google has implemented license checks and a diversity of anti-piracy things like xapk)...and it is against xda's rule to post links to any site that contains warez/pirated games/apps

I've installed Asphalt 5 & data @ sdcard/gameloft/games but when i start the game i get msg that sd card with atleast 1Mb free space is required and same error i got for sandstorm as well.
Is there ne way to get these games working or any link from where i can download them. Plz help as i cant download them from any torrent.
Ps. My fone is Grand quattro (non-rooted & stock rom)....

To play these games you dont need'a rooted phone, but make sure these games are compatible with your phone hardware specs. I will show certain threads which may help you, but remember all dos needs rooted phone, so understand what you are gonna do, be aware. Just browse play store.. Find the games you want. Play store will show compatibility.
Asphalt may be a bit laggy.. Nova n all no great chances.. Anyways research b4 u buy those games.
