i just got an ota update and downloaded .its about 19.4 mb .but after downloading its not installing only restarting my phone when i m clicking install now option.i hav rooted my phone and hav unlocked it.can any body help me how to update this one?

flash stock recovery image
hmmmm I you need to read root/stock/lock-unlock.You can't install updates from custom ROM.I think u need to back on stock firmware then to ReLock your phone and unroot it.

Just flash stock recovery, no need to relock bootloader, it's obligatory for RUU flashing.

I have just unlocked the boot loader and rooted my sola it seems new ics update is coming today .So guys and gals how to update from my state of phone which is unlocked bootloader and rooted.
IF I JUST UPDATE TO NEW VERSION ICS FROM PC COMPANION WILL IT BE FINE OR DO I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING BEFORE UPDATING TO ICS??

bootloader unlocking and rooting has nothing to do with flashing through PCC. just connect and if it says update do it...... u will only get problem if u flashed a custom rom.... if u flash custom u wont get update via PCC.... wait for a .tft file of ics...... i bet some one will eventually post it( and hopefullyearlier than the default PCC of ur region ).... then just flash it via flash tool..... if u find a .tft of ics sola the follow only the first step of this link

With an unlocked bootloader you cant update via pcc. You can either relock your phones bootloader and flash a stock rom or wait for someone to upload a ftf and flash it via flashtool

Thanks so for relocking does the rooting matter or do i have to do something to revert back the rooting also .. or just relocking is enough
Your phone won't boot after the relock so you'll have to flash a stock rom

Yup, that's the method which I use to relock my bootloader, (have done it two times already...will do it today again...getting ready for ICS )

hey im just wondering, will my phone be still rooted if i'll update via flashtool using a tft for ics sola or would it revert back to a non rooted phone? i hope it does stay to be rooted because i enjoy my rooted jb sola atm.

Root will be lost after ICS update,but you can use Bin4ry's method to root again,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32251048

I recently rooted it but haven't done nandroid backup yet, and i install chainfire 3d but then my phone won't pass the splash screen, after the htc logo it turns black. please tell me what should i do. i have H-BOOT 1.19, RADIO 1.12.11.0809, bootloader unlock, twrp installed.

Thank you for the quick reply, but i don't really understand which ROM should i flash. Can i just factory reset? and do the OTA?
Chainfire is not supported on our evos, you will soft brick every time. You have to flash a new Rom. Either flash a Rom and kernel separately or flash a Rom with kernel installer like meanrom

om4, thank you for the reply. I've read your Dont' Panic thread, would it be possible to flash the boot.img alone? can i flash with the latest RUU ? or is there a latest stock ROM available, because i only get from search is the previous stock ROM

Thank you very much om4, the link in OP thread is dead but i can manage to find Captain_Throwback link.Do i need to relock the bootloader? and I still need to flash the kernel after i flash it with the deodex stock right?
If i decide to go with the mean rom, should i re-lock the bootlader or just straight flashing the rom after clean wipe and factory reset?
If you flash meanrom you don't need to relock bootloader. Only relock the bootloader if you are getting ready to flash ruu or if you are trying to accept an ota. To accept an ota you would need a stock Rom and recovery before relocking bootloader

I checked software updates for my phone and detected a new software (as the title says). I've downloaded the file but for some reason, the installation always aborted. Can someone please look into this and create a flashable (CWM) version?

Do you UNLOCK the bootloader, ROOT your Phone and flash new CWM? If yes, you must flash original recovery and RE-LOCK bootloader
I tried searching for original recovery but failed. Do you have a copy on hand?

I have extracted my Recovery from an RUU File which is from HTC ASIA
RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.60.707.5_Radio_1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U_release_264526_signed.exe
and this Stock Recovery.img has worked with my INDIA Stock Rom 1.60.720.7, too
I restored the original recovery and relocked the phone but still, can't update the software after downloading the file. It updates but stopped at around 25%, flashed the "X" mark on the screen and hung. I badly want my phone to be up to date. Hope someone could upload a latest .zip file that I can install by CWM.

if u flash the deodexed ROM u must restore u previos ODEX ROM state and flash original boot.img
Woah! That's a lot of files... original boot.img and ODEX ROM. Need to search them around this forum and internet. Gotta find a "Asian WWE" ROM.

my phone is desire v and my phone is s-off root and unlock but i can't flash custom recovery and when i flash it is done but problem is her
i can't go in custom recovery because my phone is display this message (((error this build is for development purposes .........))
Now i am in stock Lollipop(Stock recovery also).I have a made a back up using stock recovery .
If i root my phone now and when 5.1 OTA comes then by restoring the back up will unroot the phone or not??
And by doing this shall i be able to download and install OTA ?
Or can anyone running soak test lollipop upload the lollipop recovery by extracting using flashify??

bro u cannot backed up ur full rom using stock recovery, what back up u made if u tell then may be i can help u. only one reqirement for ota update is u must be on stock rom without modified the system, no matter ur phone is rooted or not

official ota update is not rolled out yet, so dont worry when it come u r able to install

You need to flash stock recovery ..flash rollback pkg and the have to flash desired firmware which ever number you want to flash....
For custom ROM you have to be on 350 or under firmware number..
You have Indian variant??

i have a doubt...since i have unlocked my bootloader i can't officially update on my phone....i still get update notification but if i click update it will go into bootloop, so my question is will this work if it is in this condition?

if you have twrp installed then OTA update will give bootloop.
if you have stock recovery it it will install without any error..
doesnt matter if your bootloader is lock or unlock

or you can ask someone who have stock recovery.img for your model..

okay i have downloaded the whole firmware of b350....but in that post it say do not install it when you have twrp,if installed i will get bricked anyway after this what i have to do?

make a all partitions twrp backup of your stock rom first..all partitions
the then extract b350 which you have downloaded with huawei update extractor(its an app you can download from google)
then flash stock recovery which you have extracted from b350 and flash it via adb fastboot..
then downgrade to b350 by following the guide which i send you..
do some research when you feel its ok to do so then do it.
