Hey, guyz its been a long tym since m playin wid my toy our beloved LG Optimus One (thanks to U devs nd modders)..
M plannin to buy a new cell phone under a price of Rs.25,000. Need some suggestions from U guys..
I was thinkin of buyin a Samsung Galaxy S2 since m a huge fan of MIUI nd it has an Official support by MIUI.us nd also has some good tech specs
what do U guyz think if it would be a gud buy or not? (if not plz suggest me some other cell phone except Sony nd Micromax)

LG is going to launch a new series of phones soon :good: . I would suggest you to wait for it as buying a new series is mostly better than to buy one now n regret for it later. jus wait for a month or so.

Buddy it was said dat LG was goin to launch Nexus 4 by d end of last month but no clue of launching till now..

Emm... 16GB varient for samsumg s3 is for 28k. This is a good choice but if u can live with 8gb with no sd card and a little bad camera than s3 then go definatly for the nexus 4 for 23k. It is the most smooth android device in market right now and is more powerful than s3. Its the device that comes closest to iphone 5 snappiness. It almost run at a constant 60fps everytime. Not even a bit of lag in any game. 60 fps even in nova 3

Till d tym we hav XDA we dont hav to worry about the updates..
I knw the devs here are marvelous in doin there work, they can do watever it take to hav the latest firmware on there device..
And about the Nexus 4 no SD-Slot is a huge drawback to me coz I really need an external storage. Hav almost 14Gb of music, images nd videos on my li'l P500 Will try to convince my dad for 3 more grands..
And S3 for 28k is not a bad deal at all unless the device is in good condition..
Nd wat if he says no for more bucks den wat shuld I do dat will only mean no S3 for me. Nd guyd wat about the HTC One X it has great internal storage with some intresting tech specs, great camara with great sound

That pone will be outdated under 6 months surely,while nexus 4 will remain there for atleast 2 more years.Go with nexus 4.I ordered for myself.Check out thsi thread.No risk involved.

Btw the Htc one x on ebay is the AT&T version,which has DUAL CORE S4 processor rather than Tegra 3,u'll get tegra 3 version for 28k.So if 16gb is not a problem,definately go with nexus 4.

have not changed my mind at all buddy, m not gonna go for a limited memory whether its Nexus 4 or One X..
I need external storage nd I guess I'll go with S2 have some source of mine who's givin me this device for a reasonable price..
S3 will be li'l out of my budget nd a li'l big in size for my pocket.. XD

its better to take htc 1 x. this device s3 is highly over priced idiot samsung.

HAHA Processor frequency and number of cores don't mean higher performance. A good processor needs a good architecture. In this case, Samsung Exynos Quad is definitely better than Nvidia Tegra 3.
In my opinion, don't get a quad core smartphone this year. As they're only with 2 additional same level ARM-A9 in the chip. I would recommend you to get the Snapdragon S4 powered smartphone. As it has 2 ARM-A15 processors inside. One A15's performance is actually stronger than two A9. The idea smartphone in this year should be Sony Xperia GX or HTC One S with the HD screen missing but other than that, One S is awesome.

S3 for the performance, One X for the design.
Although, they say that the Jelly Bean update for One X even made it at par with the S3 in terms of performance.
Just in case, dont buy the one x +, you can always root and unlock the one x's bootloader and overclock it, no need to spend extra bucks for that.
Also, take a look at nexus 4 2gigs of ram, quadcore krait cpu's, adreno320 gpu, and most of all- its a Nexus. And a beautiful one, on top of that.
I prefer galaxy SIII

Stretch your budget a bit and go for note 2.

Note 2 is better than S3 for me,n S4 will coming in February next year.

Guys I am planning to buy a new high end android smartphone here in India, but I am a bit confused with Samsung Galaxy s3($530 or Rs29000) & LG Optimus G($603 or Rs33000). There is not a big difference in price but as I saw Optimus is much faster than Galaxy S3 and also optimus sports 2GB of RAM but S3 is having only 1GB of RAM.
Samsung is known for its better hardware utilization & regular updates while I dont have any idea about LG for the same. Guys please suggest me for which phone I should go ??

The LG is considerably better in hardware specs (newer, faster processor, double the ram)
The 1GB of ram certainly hurts the S3.
LG is bad at updating, but it seems they are trying to improve that. However there hasn't been a real transformation yet.
Despite this, the stock software from LG is less intrusive and more holo-like than TouchWiz, the aesthetics are better in my opinion.
Touchwiz has the upper hand in features though.
Go to GSM Arena, they have a comparison between them.

Get yourself an i9305 instead. Much better option.... 4core+2GB of RAM + LTE+Android 5.0 coming for sure= future proof for little money. Here in UK you can get a New one from eBay for £300 or less!! Simple as that

Software itself it's good IMHO.
Updates are really bad though - LG takes a long time to update non-flagships. Which in the short term won't be an issue for you.
But if you are planning to stay with the device for a long while, you might not see Android 5 for your device.
I don't know how good the development for the device will be, but it seems that S3's is far larger.
So, it depends, you could have better hardware, sacrificing future updates or development support (despite S3 having little of AOSP flavor, we have several quality stock ROMs, and that's without mentioning the top quality kernels available )

Yes it will get updated and suck more due to more blotware. And u can always install custome roms for lg. But I guess op g also will get updated to klp.

I also read some reviews & comparisons between Optimus G & S3 and I found optimus g is having weaker battery life and poor camera quality over S3, is it true ??

Op g Battery life I have not checked my self and camera too. But s3 has so many issues. M using using it and now selling it. Find sudden death of s3 in this forum u will come to knw.

M using 4.1.2 issues like multitasking suck. Second all sammy phones look similer so many ppl asked me is this new grand?? No unique ness. Also my motherboard having insane firmware mens it can meet sudden death and sammy has not accepted their fault officially. After spending so much u will get white glossy plastic. It also gets warm pretty quick.

So, i'm buying a new phone which will be an upgrade of my current xperia mini as well as galaxy nexus (though i will still use them). I have Xperia L and Xperia Ion LTE in mind as both of them are in my budget. What do you guys think is a better handset in terms of performance (HD gaming+battery life) :good:

Definitely xperia L its going to ve quite a bit faster than the ion but the ion has a better screen...... But the ion will stop at 4.1 (if it gets it) while the l might get 4.2 so it's a choice between updates and processor over screen and camera

But only thing that concerns me is that the ion has an S3 processor while the L has an S4 but as each is clocked at 1.5GHz and 1 GHz respectively, won't Ion be a little faster? Or as L has a newer generation CPU as well as GPU (adreno 305) it will be better in gaming+performance?
Clock speed might not make a huge difference because the krait cores in s4 are way faster than the s3's cores and also the adreno 305 is more powerful than the one in the the ion......
Since the ion is around 22000 rs I would suggest that you save up a little more and go for a nexus 4 instead which blows away both the ion and the xperia L

For me xperia L is good i m also thinking to buy it. Anyways if u have more money then Xperia Sp is soo good it beat nexus 4 in banchmarks! Which i saw on gsmarena its quite batter...

How much would the Nexus 4 cost in Indian market? Also the disappointing thing about all Nexus's is NO expandable memory

I don't know if dad will allow for 5000/- more. I also need to get my x-box repaired. If i costs less then i could go for xperia sp

yeah thats good to go! xperia SP is batter...
The only reason the sp beat the nexus 4 in benchmarks is because benchmarks aren't optimised yet for 4.2.2
Isn't it obvious that the nexus 4 is faster (2X the RAM, 2 more cores of same processor)? OP, the SP is a good choice but the nexus 4 is better IMHO because of updates, performance, etc. But if you need expandable storage then the SP is the way to go.
Oh and FYI, I'm sure the xperia sp isn't "batter", it's definitely made of aluminium, glass and silicon

Hey man your phone your choice although another happy nexus user wouldn't be bad
But the reason I'm rooting for nexus is because you want to play HD games....they will run well on the xperia sp but the extra gig of ram is a boon......and besides you won't have to worry about updates you'll have official updates for 1.5-2 years and unnoficial for even longer........
I had to make the same choice between an s3 and xperia V (until my pocket money magically increased ) and looking back I think I made a good choice.
Another thing to note is that in jellybean you can't move apps to SD card so if you buy a phone with just 8GB internal storage (sp and L have only that much right?) Then at max you can have only 2-3 HD games......

On phones that run jellybean natively you can't move apps to your microSD card......so you'll be limited to 5.8 GB (space you actually get) for apps and games.
Oh and the nexus 4 can be purchased online but will cost around 26500-28000 rs......which is about the same as xperia sp which is 27000

hi, well i finally getting my device in 9 days! YAY!:angel::victory::laugh::highfive::fingers-crossed:
but i wonna make sure im makign the best choice!
currently im thinking about buying the nexus 4 well here what i do!
watch movies=care about screen
need money=care about money so can build better custom pc in summer
do games! (dead trigger shadow gun and other high graphic games)
almost no music-photos i never take photos and never listen to music! maybe one time a year!

If you want a good phone for games, you may want to get the HTC one x. I thinks its quite expensive but it has a tegra 3 graphics processor meaning you can play games like shadow gun THD. though the nexus 4 is very good still.

i will do tweaks maybe for graphics but for really high chance i will get the N4 coz of Pure vanilla andorid and no s-off need and other stuff! also more cool
