Dog chewed through the screen... - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

So I caught my dog chewing on my girlfriends evo this morning and he shattered the screen. Now it's pretty much unusable because he ruined the digitizer. What's the best way to go about getting this replaced or do we just have to pay the $150?

Gotta pay the 150 and euthanize the dog

If you feel comfortable doing it yourself, keep an eye on Ebay for bad esn phones. All you have to do is swap the motherboards.
My girl dropped her phone and shattered the screen last week. I found a nearly mint condition, completely in tact phone (minus motherboard and cover that has the hex/dex numbers) for $85, free shipping. I ordered it last Thursday, and got it Monday afternoon.
You can buy just the digitizer for around $70, but there's a lot more effort in changing the digitizer versus just swapping motherboards.

Personally I would buy the digitizer and replace it. But that is because I don't have insurance on my phone! If it sounds scary tearing the phone apart just pay the $150(I thought it was 199). Next time make sure to put it in a heavy duty case and keep it in the holster at all times!

Or better yet, buy through Best Buy and get their warranty. Best $9.99/month I've ever spent. I got my EVO the day it became available and dropped it off the roof of my father's RV just under a month later. They replaced my phone with a brand new one even after I told them I dropped it about 12 feet flat on its screen. Best Buy has no deductible and don't care how it got damaged.
I now have the Otterbox Commuter case but at the height I was, I don't even think the defender case would have saved it.

Well it was short lived. I got my EVO on lanch date and this after noon the unthinkable happened . I was showing my friend a picture and she fumbled the phone, droped on a concreteflor face down. We just looked at it for a couple of seconds in disbelief. I wjent to pick it up and it looked like this.

I dropped my 3vo on day 2 onto my concrete patio, it was about a 4 foot drop. Thankfully I had my hard rubberized case on it and not a scratch was made, not even to the case!
I've dropped mine, but luckily it was only a 2 ft drop or so and landed flat on it's back. I was pissed. First time I've dropped my phone in about 2 years, and it happens just a couple days after I get my 3D.

Ouch!!! Don't feel too bad. I dropped my launch day Evo 4G at work barely a week after having it & it looked just like that! Luckily your getting it replaced so quickly. Took me almost a month to get a replacement. They were sold out everywhere & Assurion couldn't keep them in stock. I did get a brand new one though, with all the accessories. Then 2 weeks before the 3D came out I dropped that one 4 floors down the elevator shaft at work. It's still there submerged in about a 1 1/2 ft of water & hydraulic oil. Lost phone, one of my 3500 Seidio batteries, extended case & my 32GB class 10. Talk about hurt! I still get tears thinking about it.

Ive wasted so much money on zagg on many phones. I will never buy that **** again. I usually end up peeling them all off after about a month..
I got a 6-pack on release day for my E4G last year and have been using them on everything--I only used 2 on my E4G....one the day I got it and one the day I traded it....I used the rest on E3D, NS4G, someone's moment and someone elses dInc.
So, yeah, if you can't figure out how or if a Sensation screen protector will work I've got some bad news for you...
Get some screen protectors for a tablet and cut it to fit your phone.

Dropped atrix and cracked screen

My phone has a spider web shape crack look on the screen. Phone is fully functional. Phone calls and data are fine too. I have no insurance. Any ideas on what I should do? I suppose I can get a free 3gs and use that until contract expires. Or pay $500 upfront for a new atrix too.

Just spend $40 on Ebay and get a new glass.
Get a replacemnt glass and fix yourself or get one used off craigslist.

Here is the place I bought it from:

If you decide you don't want to repair it, let me know how much you want for it.

I had mine broken a couple weeks ago. I searched on Craigslist inside service for ppl that replaces screen and it costed me $95 to have the screen replaced with a brand new one original one and I can't tell that it was ever replaced. It took them 1hour from the time I dropped of to get the service done.

how bad is it, you can always claim something else is wrong with it. Where did you buy it from?
It's very small. I was able to kind of hide the clear aluminum showing with a black marker. I also just noticed I have 3 dead pixels so maybe that would be enough if they don't really notice the scrapes. I got it from an official AT&T store.

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Personally I dropped mine and it got scuffed a little too, so much that it bothered me. I was within 14 when it fell so I took it back and told them that it was to fragile along the edges, got way to hot (130°) which I screenshot and the headphone jack doesn't work well with FM radio and he said no problem and replaced it and that was that. It was fraud on my end, and I paid good money for a phone that I wanted to keep in mint condition. Haven't dropped the second one yet but I have gaps, which isn't too bad. My advise, go for it and it isnt fraud of there is actually a problem with it anyway.

I ended up trading it in and getting a silver one. I was completely straight with the rep and showed him the scratches which he thought was no big deal and were barely even noticeable. I had to point out the scratch locations since he couldn't even see them at first. I showed him the dead pixels and also the power button which had this awful click sound which drove me crazy. I just had to pay a restocking fee and was good to go.

I broke my nexus 6 after ordering the 6p

Just a little rant. I ordered the 6p and was planning on selling my 6 and paying off the balance I still owed to t mobile. Well for the first time in my life, I dropped my phone and broke the screen it's luckily just the glass and the touch still works fine. It's not worth paying $175 deductible to get a new phone when I'm just going to sell it next month. Hopefully I can get close to $200 on eBay even with a cracked screen

That sucks, Ive thankfully never broken a screen (knock on wood). Most Nexus phone sell well even with a broken screen but you likely won't get as much as you might hope. I sold my Zenfone 2 on swappa in less than 10 minutes after posting. They are pretty good compared to ebay and they only charge you a $5 fee per sale.
this guy has something here. i've heard of moto/google honoring a one-time replacement for these types of things. wouldn't hurt to ask.

Really easy to do for the N6 but the glass and digitizer come glued together
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I bought my N6 in december last year, just before xmas. it fell out of my pocket several times over the first couple of days - was just too big - on the third day that i owned it it fell onto a tiled floor and the screen smashed. claimed on the insurance and never replaced it - just went back to my m8. i was pretty disappointed, cos i loved the screen on the 6, but the overall size of the device and my small pockets meant that we were never meant to be...
that said, i've ordered a 128gb graphite N6p, not sure why i am expecting a different outcome, but i just can't help myself when it comes to the latest nexus device!!
Attached a picture since it was requested.
I lost some chunks of glass today. Not sure where I lost them at
I'm trying not to spend any more money on this phone to fix things. I have insurance and I can claim it for $175, but I still owe like $350 and if I only sell the phone and get lets say $300, I'm still out $225. If I sell it broken and get $175, I'm only out $175.
I'll get my tempered glass screen protector tomorrow so hopefully that will keep the pieces in place until I get my 6P next month
Very bad luck, I recommend you get a case for the next phone. Phone insurance sucks my car has a lower deductible than that lol.
