Straight Talk and Jellybean??? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I was wondering if anybody's running jellybean with straight talk? I heard there was signal issues?? Anyway thanks in advance for all the tips.

I am using straight talk and I am rooted with liquid smooth JB RC8 rom and I have no signal issues at all. My phone mostly says H+ most of the time for the internet. I don't know how true that is but my internet speed is awesome for me most of the time.

Was just the ROM you put on it or did you have to flash other stuff to make it run smooth? Does it come with Google apps?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app

I flashed the RC8 with a h0tcakes kernel and used Google jb 4.2 apps. It runs awesome. The kernel let's me over clock to 1836 but I keep it around 1700. Google now works and I have no problems. I also learned that touchwiz uses a lot of ram because as soon as I got rid of it I have around 250mb of ram free. When I I had the stock rom I usually had around 100.

I'm on Straight talk with JB, and have had zero problems now that Jamie's 4.2.1 rom has been released http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141236
Just change your APN to straight talk and you're good.

Honestly...read read read. This way if something eff's up you'll know how to fix it. But root the phone install the necessary gapps and then download rom manager and goo. im from the play store. Those will help you find kernels and gapps. But basically you install the gapps through recovery same as the rom. I'm not good at explaining it Lol. But go to the original dev forum and the liquidsmooth rc8 thread tells you the steps.

The only OTA update I need is a download of my next custom ROM.

If all 3 are borked then you got something.

Bravia engine?

Hey all, back when I used jellybam I downloaded the bravia engine to improve picture quality I really liked it. Now my problem, I still have the zip but am wondering if I could still install it on the ATT stock jellybean ROM. I don't want to brick my phone as I got the file from a 4.2.2 ROM and don't want to risk it. What do you guys think k?

It won't brick your phone. But if it isn't compatible, it will make your phone lag and give a bad video.
So just make a nandroid, then flash the app. You can easily revert. If you have to revert, don't forget the necessary wipes, or you might not remove the pesky thing.
