Rebooting at loading screen - HTC EVO 3D

Hello. thanks for the help. im a noob but i can follow directions
iv got a rooted phone. i was getting stuck at boot so i was told to S-OFF and get hboot 1.58. iv done that. and now on several roms it goes through the loading screen then restarts and loops the same.
not sure where to go from here. iv tried to RUU back to the stock rom. but seems i cannot find the correct rom.
thanks for the help

d3rp lights out rom DOES work. so i have to assume i have something wrong for the other specific roms.
what piece of information am i missing?

go here for the stock RUU to use with hboot 1.58
http://goo.im/stock/shooter/ruu

can you confirm what im beng told in another thread. some roms require older hboot versions which involves downgrading?

since youre s-off you can install and run any bootloader you wish...yes some roms require the use of hboot 1.50 or lower and not 1.58 which is the ice cream sandwich hboot... if you want to run gingerbread or other roms yes you need to downgrade and i can give you links for that too ... or you can install the ICS rom and keep your current hboot.

correct... well the newest version of android ROMS is jelly bean which requires you to down grade...the second newest is ICS which is what you should download and use ...check to make sure it requires hboot 1.58 first some ICS roms ...older ones... require hboot 1.5 still. if you go to the cdma development section youll see a slew of roms that can work with your device
and no.. they are linked to that account.... youd have to log into it and then download the apps... then add the other account for the rest of your contacccts and apps

jelly bean isnt officially released for the evo 3d... it was ported over and the hboot that it is designed with is hboot 1.5 or less ...until its officially released for the evo 3d byt then it could be a different hboot than 1.58 even
and i couldnt help you there... right off the bat but if i come across a link to explain it i will

correct.... and secondly yes

oh.... and... that sucks. would mean i would have to reformat on any and all updates to the os.
question.
is the current build of ICS going to be the latest? i ask since they are working on a completely new version which probably wont even be released for the evo 3d.

i like to keep updated. but am willing to go without it for the abilitity to tether my net to my laptop.
so now the arguous task of chosing a rom. mind if i ask which you use?

oh. and apparently google play allows you to use multiple accounts. so solves that problem. but to keep it clean i woudl really like to have my apps moved to the new account. app developers dont seem to be a fan of that.

is it safe to upgrade to ICS?

HI
I have a question regarding ICS update. since I have not rooted phone yet and i am stll using stock firmware(rom). my question is if I update to the official ics release will I be able to root it and install custom roms in the future? I am asking this because I am worried that by updating it might update it self to baseband to newer version that cannot be rooted.
Can you please confirm that its safe for me to update so I will be able to modifiy in the future?(bear in mind i have not moddified anything yet(basedand bootloader rom etc and i will want to do these in near future after i read enough tutorials)
thanks

It's safe to upgrade to ICS 4.0.3, because I have done it when I got my EVO 3D, then unlocked & root successfully! So don't worry, but anyway, 2.3.x is more easy to unlock, root & s-off, because my 4.0.3 phone can't be S-OFF.

safe? yes, but not recommended IF you want to flash custom roms in the future.
Much better to unlock bootloader, root the phone go s-off and flash custom roms. The upgrade will change your HBoot which limits your options.

how about if your rooted, and want the stock sprint rom. can you accept the download when it is pushed out?

To add to what zcink said, if you have patience, the VM leak custom Roms will all incorporate or realign to the Sprint ota once it's released. The ics we run now through custom Roms is most likely better now than what Sprint will push out and definitely will be better once the customs realign. We just need HTC to release source for better kernels.

JB isn't even in Alpha stages for GSM users.
OP, if you want to upgrade to ICS, use a custom ROM as said before.
Once your HBoot gets upgraded, you'll have a lot of trouble in an attempt to root again.
Plus, custom ROMs are better!

[Q] [q] evo lte how to install rom

Ive read a lot of threads, comments, posts but still unclear
i have an evo on 1.13.651.1 hboot 1.2 rooted and lazypanda s-off but ive reads that to install a rom i need to update the radios and update the firmware and that i need to relock the hboot and run ruu
can someone help me thanks
You don't need to update anything, I'm s-on and running the latest venom without any issues. Being s-off gives you the advantage of flashing the firmware directly, if you want to update just look for the firmware updates in android development

I want to install meanrom after installing do I need to update the radios n prl or not?
You don't need to update to run the latest
nice I appreciate the help
I'm not new to installing roms just new to the EVO LTE and I don't wanna mess it up
I've installed every single rom to my OG EVO and 3D but I want to be careful on this one
It's always better to be safe and get the info ahead of time then to rush in and end up another help thread in an unusually high number of strikingly similar threads that seem to have really reared lately. I guess more and more people are upgrading to the lte and are too confident to bother with learning the phone first. The majority seem to say I had xx phone and I flashed all the time blah blah blah. More people need to look up all the possible issues and solutions before jumping in.

If you want to it's really easy. The firmware update includes all of that. Just change the name to PJ75IMG.zip, put it on your SD card, and it will automatically install when start the bootloader. Then make sure to delete it off your sd card.

I'm going to trump om4 on this.
Yes, update your frimware and radios to run MeanRom. You will have a better experience. Those that don't have all kinds of problems with wifi and data not connecting. HTC came our with a radio update for a reason, the original released sucked ass!!!! The latest version of the radios will make your phone run great. Big Daddy responded to you with a link for the download to update the firmware and radios. Please do this, so you won't end up with the rest of the people constantly complaining that this doesn't work or that doesn't work. The new firmware bits, PRI, and radios solved 90% of the problems that people that didn't update have.
UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!!
You're S-OFF so do it already.
Tanks I've been running meanrom for 4 days and no problems yet which is good but I will do so as soon as I get a chance
And I have anothe rquestion but don't want to make a new thread
I don't like swype beta I try installing the stock swype with titanium backup but it doesn't install any way/place to get it or a way to get it to work??

rooted gingerbread to rooted ICS help

I have a rooted mobilicity htc amaze running under the energy rom march 2012 version which is gingerbread. I want to update to the latest version of this rom, or any other ICS rom that is rooted. how would I go about doing this? I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1712858
however the link to the download was taken down, help would be appreciated.
First of all I'm sorry to have to say this.. but this is the 50th thread about how to upgrade to ICS. I don't care which carrier you are on the process is all the same. The file may be different but the actions are all the same. So if you search and read the other "Hold My Hand" threads you should be able to find your answer.
Like I said.. I'm sorry I chose your thread to pick on but some people need to search and read.

thats kinda wrong.. first they need to go back to stock gingerbread and then upgrade the rom to official ice, then root it and flash any ice/jellybean rom they want... but yeah.. it would be easier if you were s-off to flash any stock RUU for any carrier regardless

Just picked up an evo 3d, need help updating

It's been awhile since i've messed with updating an such but here is where the phone stands currently
Shooter xc eng S-off RL
Hboot-1.22.2000 (PG8610000
Radio-0.97.00.0506_2
emmc-boot

Kernel version 2.6.35.10-g36468e4
baseband 0.97.00.0506_2
So what will I need to get my phone on a rom that is current " ics " I want everything on the phone to work, 4g,3d, no problems, an I would like a sense"less" build. cyanogen mod perhaps? If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be very greatfull

I just created the guide you need today.
If you want 3D to work you are going to have to go with a "de-Sensed" ROM that emulates AOSP. There are AOSP based ROM's that have working 4G but no 3D camera.

Yes. You wouldn't be rooted and would have the stock bootloader (hboot) and recovery, but if you want to run 100% stock that would be fine.
I suggest leaving it S-OFF though so if you change your mind it's easier to update those things.

ok, one last question, just so i am clear to myself. lol I downloaded : RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_2.89.651.2_Radio_1.09.00.0706__NV_NV_SPCS_1.43_release_271101_signed from the site posted in your guide. by running that exe, I will be on the current sprint ics rom, radio, curren stockt hboot, current stock recovery, an S-off ? with the option of then afterwords installing custom hboot an recovery?

HBOOT question

i am really curious as to what does flashing a new hboot does, reason i ask is because i unlocked my device without issues, i also obtained s-off thanx to our wonderful devs, and im running venom rom. however im still on the old software. to me everything is running fine as far as i know so i dont want to take ota and lose everything, now im also seeing new hboots or ENG HBOOT and im wondering if i should flashed them since i have s-off but i would like to know the benefits of it, thanx

Most of the hboots in the section are for devs and modders. If you just flash roms to get root experience, there is no need to worry about updating to a new hboot. Only time it is absolutely necessary is when HTC releases a firmware update.

Most of the devs are working on OTA updates to their individual roms. I would just wait for whatever rom you are running to be updated. Saves you the problems of trying to fix your device if anything does go wrong with the OTA.

I would not take the ota update... But I would flash the newer radio to improve general connectivity that Verizon has implemented in the update... You don't need the eng hboot for that... Look in original development for the radio thread
