I got a question about lumia 800..
Its a noob question as i personnaly dont have a lumia..its.of my dad.. Nd he's the one asking....
Question :-
How to take a backup of lumia 800...
I want to take backup of the following...
*images
*videos
*contacts
*calender
*apps
*music
Now guyz...plz do reply even if its a noob question ....
Nd guyz...he wants to go for an update of 7.8...(he is still on 7.5)..
What do u say about that...is it gud or bad.???

Now...u can see i am a senior member too...that means i am well aware of all the rules of xda..
Nd i knw that i shud search before posting...so that is exactly what i did...i searched...
Bt i got do little answers...nd that too a little confusing coz i am nt a regular lumia user....

you could try this method i found using google: http://www.wpcentral.com/how-back-and-restore-your-windows-phone-data
But generally i would say:
images, videos, music: u can backup those files using ZUNE software, as it does sync your phone content with your pc
contacts,calender: are stored in your windows-live account. i you reset your phone and add your existing live account again, all calender entrys + contacts are restored automatically.
apps: sadly there's no way (or i don't know any) to backup installed apps and saved games. But all of your purchased apps are "connected" to your live-ID, so if you install an already purchased app again, just click on "buy" again and you'll receive a message, that you've already purchased that one.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. But, everytime I transfer a video it encodes it to compatible WMV format.

assumed you are talking 'bout the dialpad...Intellipad is a keyboard substitute...

yes you can transfer files from your computer to your xda2 via its "stand"
you can use resco file explorer to send files via bluetooth.
you can use Windows Media 10 to play in landscape mode.
the "MAC type" scheme your refering to can be achieve through Wisbar Advance 2

I m looking for a contact manager Windows Based for the S740, my contacts are really messy because they went through Sony Ericsson device -> SIM card -> Nokia Device -> SIM card -> HTC S740
I have like 3 times every contact and no information was saved from my original SE device (Birthday, photos, location,...)
Is there a way to edit the contacts fast on PC and then Sync them with the phone?
I haven't Outlook and Oulook express and I m not going to install them.

i use outlook. century's long and i make it that way... there is no other way

This is my first ever post in this section. I have searched a lot and find a nice software application to be used as a PC suite.
I know many people are addicted to the PC suite and this software is only for the lovers of PC suite.
What this software can do? Here we go for a quick list:

Thanks for this. Really needed it. Every time I found any pc suite it was basically paid or trial version. I guess mobo is completely free as far as I have used it lately.
Yes it is absolutely free and also the version is beta 1.
May be they will make it paid in future.

Looks nice, but the App on Android is in Chinese or wathever and I couldn't read any Data on the phone.
Another App is MyPhoneExplorer. It's free and stable, has the same functions as MoboRobo but not that nice Interface.

For me it is in english....Try to install the software again and select language english..not sure whether it gives an option to install language because i am in office..will confirm when reach home..But you can try once.....
Unfortunately it crashed when I tried to run it on Windows 7x64. I even tried in various compatibility modes, none worked.

You can report it to their website..I have checked this on my Windows 7 32Bit. and it is running flawlessly...

On XP it will work but not sure about X64... and yes it is a very useful software and I have Pinned to my statusbar of my PC

Though I saw it from Panda apps but didn't thought that mobo is separate from them *which is japanese version* until I saw it from your thread . At last I can now send/receive a message using my PC/Netbook which I after from this POWERFUL SOFT but seems got more feature to LOVE *backup everything on my phone, install/uninstall apps & manymore*. By the way my phone is Galaxy Y (Young) - GT-S5360 *just sharing* coz our device is not on their support lists but it's working fine . THANKs again DUDE .

Video Editor on the Play store is my only suggestion .Or take the video to PC and cut it .
As you say Google search found nothing suitable i wont mention any of the apps found .

Well, I'm guessing that you bought this phone new, and as a result you have 50gb of free Dropbox storage.
Why don't you upload whatever video you want on your Dropbox account and then send the public link to who ever it is that you wanted to send it to?
All of this can be done directly though the phone, so it shouldn't be so much of a hassle.
In the even that you got this phone off the second hand market, you have (AFAIK) 5gb of free storage on Google Drive, which is also hooked automatically to your Gmail account, so you could also use that.
Just trying to be helpful, good luck on your Android adventure.
