How to add widget in stock lock screen ? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all as the topic title
how to add the widget in stock lock screen ?
already google for it, must use 3rd party app like widgetlocker
but I prefer stock lock screen, anybody know how to add widget ??
*google now just got update, and I saw what new got widget in lock screen, but no idea how to add it or any other widget at all
anybody can help ? thanks

as you said it yourself there is no option to add widget on lockscreen on stock samsung.
only aosp roms or 3rd party lockscreens.

In settings you can choose widgets to add to the lockscreen, but only some samsung/google widgets are available.

No idea, since Google now updated yesterday, 4.1 & above can add widget in lock screen

That why I ask about it

edit, cant be bothered

What google have updated is the google search app(aka Google now) which now supports widgets.
In android 4.2 you can add widgets to your lock screen as well as the home screen.
You can insert weather at your stock lockscreen if you're running sammy rom via lock scren option, and you can enable dual clock as well but they're not widgets.
If you want to have the ability to add widgets like google now you have to use 3rd party lockscreen or aosp rom as i mentioned before

I would love this!

get Widget Locker or flash the leak

[Q] Changing lockscreen

Is it possible to change the lockscreen so that ill push some lockscreen apk to the system files? When using third party lockscreens there is a lag so sometimes the lockscreen doesnt come up when turning on the screen. I would like to get rid of that lag.

Depending on the ROM you are using, try jKay mod and install jkday deluxe settings.

You can have transparent lockscreen, or aosp lockscreen with multiple sliders to unlock, launch applications, and so on.
I would like to have MagicLocker with Android 4.0 theme as my default lockscreen. Or some other ICS themed lockscreen.

Go locker is also good if you're interested in show offs. Great themes for it are out there. Drawback, it needs the launcher.

[Q] Changing touchwitz icons

I'd like to change GOSms icon with the stock SMS app icon to put it on dock and replace the stock SMS app, how can I change an app icon with touchwitz? I'd change it because GOSms icon is smaller than other icons in the dock and it's very ugly
Desktop visualizer :good:
Thanks my friend! Very useful!
I know its not a direct answer to your question but you could try another launcher. Apex Launcher allows full control over icons and titles for every item on your home screens.
Forgive me for crashing the thread, but I also need some help changing icons. I want to change the dock icons (on stock Rom) and I am using apex launcher pro. On my HTC Sensation and apex launcher, all I need to do is long press the icon and I then have the option to change it, but when I long press on sgs, the only option I get is to remove app. I am sure it must be simple, can someone help me out. Thanks.
I feel a bit stupid now. After uninstalling all third party launchers and re-installing them, I now have all the correct options to edit the dock icons.

is there any way to change the stock icon in the touchwiz lock screen? I can use desktop visualizer to create the shortcut with new icon on the dock, but touchwiz lock screen icons I cannot change to customize.

Stock Clock Widget in Nova?

This is going to seem like a weird one, but I can't find the stock widget that's used for clock and weather when I use Nova launcher. Anyone have the file or know where to find it? Thanks.

I have two clock widgets when I look at adding a widget to nova, I don't know if one of mine was added by an app or if they are both default nova. If you can tell me where to pull a file from I'd be happy to help. Otherwise I'm not totally sure what you can do. I am still fairly new to this launcher.
Good luck, let me know what I can do to help.
I had the same problem... Ended up just getting Timely and using their widget
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This is an ever-returning problem for all 3rd party Launchers. TouchWiz, Sense and whatever LG is calling their UI all have widgets that are only compatible with their respective launchers. Install all you want, they still wont show up outside of the stock LG Launcher. You can usually find some that look much the same and some times a genious comes along and ports the widgets. You could try heading over to the G2 forums, I suspect there's more life over there, maybe their "Themes and Apps" forum has a ported edition. Who knows.

I did the same thing - use the Timely widget. With Nova I could overlap it with the Yahoo weather widget so that they look like one thing.
My other virtually-the-same-thing clock widget choice is Chronus

I recently tried out "beautiful widgets" which allows clock and weather widgets and I really like it.
