[Q] MicroDS issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello all. Iam new to this, but I am hoping someone can help me out.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II from Verizon. I have installed a San Disk 32gb MicroSD card. I used the phone to format the card. I then created folders for music, photos, videos, etc. Next I set these new folders as the defaults for these file types, so that any music and photos, ect, will be stored on the external MicroSD card.
Now my problem: I copied all of my music files (about 1400, all in MPG3 format) to the music folder on the MicroSD card. However, when I attempt to play the music, a song will play for a second or 2, then jump to another song. It keeps doing this. If I play the song (stored on the phone) on my laptop (phone is connected via USB) it does the same thing. It will play a second or so, then stop.
I have deleted and recopied the music several times, I have turned the phone off then back on, nothing seems to help. Sometimes, after attempting to play music on the phone, and it reacts this way, I'll go back to the music folder, and suddenly it shows about 330 songs, not 1400 that were there before. A little while later, it will show all 1400 songs, but they still won't play properly.
I don't know if there is something I need to do with the phone, or the MicroSD card. I also noticed that 4 of my photos in my "images" folder would no longer display on the phone. After re-starting the phone, the 4 image files were gone completely.
This is driving me CRAZY!!! Someone please help!!
Thank you all very much for your support.
Bob
Oops!! I titled this thred as "MicroDS" instead of "MicroSD". Sorry

Is it a new card? One from Ebay or other unreputable seller? If so, you may have been scammed. Google "h2testw", it is a free program used to verify USB memory. It wirtes the entire drive full of data and then attempts to read it back. It will quickly uncover a fake SD card.
If that is not the case, then I don't have any ideas. The symptoms sure sound like a fake card though. The really crappy thing about the fakes is a lot of people loose valuable data when they move stuff to one of these cards. It all looks like it is there, but nothing beyond a few Kb transfers. Most of the time these are 4gb or smaller cards that have had some hacking done to display themselves as much larger. After the actual memory size is full, the file index continues to register files written, but they are physically not there at all.
Good Luck,
Jason

Hi, I really need help with this. I have the exact same issue except that I've tried 3 different 64gb sd cards now (from 2 different sellers on eBay) and have had the same results. I've tried different methods of transfer and different file types, same thing every time. The h2testw program doesn't detect my phone (phone mem or sd card) so I can't use that.
Now, I will say, all of these cards were ~$30 but were bought from high-rated sellers. Did I just happen to buy 3 hacked cards in a row?

Same here bought my from ebay 35 bucks first day popped into phone was fine phone read the card. Then i rebooted to flash aosp rom no go with card trued different computers some read card some dont and tryingbto format i get errors or cant complete action. In read on line you can format with a digital camera to UN corrupt the card will try later and report back . I you can try before that would be nice. I have 9 hrs left at work so.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app

Get a micro SD USB adapter and do H2Wtestw. The phones only mount MTP or PTP, you cannot run the test on the card in the phone, it has to be mounted as a USB mass storage device on the PC, and yes, I have no doubt that you got three hacked cards in a row. Virtually every high capacity card on ebay is fake. Most people see it mounts as the listed size and leave good feedback, it's too late to adjust your feedback when it eats all your data. Do some research, it is well documented out on the internet as to how many counterfiet cards are out there on eBay.
Later,
Jason

I have had similar problems with a lexar 32GB card. I noticed that when I copied files using the phone to transfer the files that many were incomplete. To verify this open a file browser and check the file sizes. I have another problem with my MicroSD as well. I randomly get an error stating that the card is damaged and needs formatted. I changed the format to exFat which has slowed the problem but it still does this occasionally. I an going to RMA the card and see if another card will perform better. I hope it isn't a problem with the phone because I don't feel like wasting time dealing with returning it to stock and setting up new one.

Is there a a good brand to buy like samsung ..also what does the card(say 64gb) need to be formatted to??

Samsung, Sandisk, etc. The key is ONLY buy it from someone reputable, i.e. direct from Amazon, NOT one of their resellers, and NOT from eBay. There is no free lunch. A 64GB Class 10 will cost you $50-$60, if its less do NOT buy it, its a knock-off.
Sandisk comes preformatted as exFAT. This is compatible with Samsung Touchwiz and TWRP recovery. It allows very large file sizes.
CM, ASOP roms, and CWM recovery do not support exFAT. You will need to format to Fat32 if you plan to use them. There is a file size limit of 4GB, and you will need third party software to format 64GB on Windows.

Problems with my transcend micro SDHC card

I recently purchased a transcend 4 gb sdhc card (speed class 6) for my hermes. I have wm6 official att rom and it will show the files in file explore. The problem is when I took a photo the other day I go back and some of the photos(not all) are now just an icon. When I tap the icon it says it can not be accesed.
I did search and found were someone could not delete the items, but I do not have that problem I just want to view/know photos will stay put.
Thanks if anyone can help!!

well, got a same problem here, but mine is with kingston micro sdhc class 4gb class 4. have the same problem. the only way tht i can think of is to remove the card n insert it back again. well then can use as normal, but after a while it the prob will come again, so need to do tht all over again. btw i use crc's 11.2.
Now that i have had some more time to play with the new card i have noticed that if i pull the sd and reinsert it it will usually work. But sometimes even after reinserting the sd some file ie. picture files only show the icon not the thumb picture. Anyone have recomendations for brands of cards that do not have this problem, or is this a problem with SDHC cards?
I just got my AData 8gb sdhc card class 6 and have had none of the problems you have. Sorry, just wanted to let you know the problem could be with the rom you're using, etc....

It sounds like the file is corrupted. Did you try to use it as usb memory stick and run check disk?
Ok checked the folders and noticed that a folder said it was corrupt. But when I try to play music files from the card it will say those are corrupt on the hermes but then they have no problem playing on my computer.
Im about to give up on sdhc, I want to buy a adata 4gb from newegg, but cannot pull the trigger because I do not want to get burned again.
Thanks for help.

Just to let you know I have a 8gb microsd (AData). I've used it for over a month and had no problems at all.
8gb SDHC Kingston good for about 6 months
Nothing's perfect. I rode it hard. Don't give up on SDHC, but personally, I never trust any drive/storage, period. Allwaysync and Mobsync are my best friends. I saw it coming, too. I had to reboot a couple of times to get my x7501 to read it, and about a week later, there it went.
I was just googling around to see if I could recover some of the stuff I did today on it (some pics, a couple of xls files). I synced last night, so most of it's copied. It's all about the data for me.
I'm replacing it with a SanDisk for about US$31. A week or so ago got a 4gb with SD and Mini SD adapters for $15, I meant to use it in my camera with a Memory Stick adapter.... I went with the idea that I could use an just about any adapter if I got the smallest form factor I could, that way I can be flexible when something does go out on me.
Almost all drives will fail eventually. The less you pay (or hunt for a good deal on a good brand) the less time you get. If you didn't get your time out of it, send it in for a replacement, or replace it with a more reputable, albeit more expensive and stodgy, brand so you'll be more sure it'll work out of the box and for a while.
I hope my two cents saves someone a headache or two. Backup. Backup. Backup. Buy well, and backup.

"SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" hardware issue solved

Hey all,
I thought I would share my findings to help others with the same issue.
Two days ago I kept catching glimpses of a card image in the notifications at the top of the screen, but it would only be for a second so I could not see what it was trying to tell me. But had a quick look and sd card seemed fine and all data was present on handset. A couple of hours later it popped up with "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed". I tried ejecting and reinserting, restarting device and turning off and removing battery all to no avail. So I did a quick search which showed this seemed to be quite a common issue, after reading many threads with people saying the sd card is corrupt or network providers saying it was software and to do a restore. I decided before all that hassle I would open the phone and check the circuitboard expecting it to be a dry solder joint. One thing I will point out that was different to some other users is the fact my sd card was not visible with the phone connected to the computer, so this may not solve all related issues.
THE FIX
Turn off phone, remove the battery, SIM card and sd card. Remove all screws except the one by the 3.5mm jack. Gently pull the white plastic trim that surrounds the card holders and battery but the top part with speaker and camera does not need removing. Once removed if you look to the left of the sd card holder you will see the ribbon that connects the sd card to the main circuit board and at the end of the ribbon is the connector. Mine was disconnected and was loose, even if yours is not loose it would be worth gently pulling it off and reconnecting it. Then reassemble in the reverse order.
This was a nice surprise in the sense it was a very simple fix. However when I mounted the sd card even directly in my pc it was not found, I assume that the loose connector floating about had probably shorted its connections and caused an issue with the sd card. After a handfuls of attempts at mounting it in my pc it was finally detected and I backed up all the data and reformatted the sd card, then copied the data back, mounted it in my phone and was happy to find it all working as expected.
I hope this information will help some of you out, as it was a simple fix to a simple issue and results from searching had no solutions, just lots of assumptions.
And what can I do
Hi
I read your articles and seem very good but u have a question.
I had the same issue and I saw that every time my phone said I hat message it creates in my sd card a folder named lost. I and then i saw that one part of my battery was going there, ti reconnect the phone with my sd card
I formatted my sd card and did all the things that I found in the Internetbut nnothing works and I just change my sd for another one I had and sincethere u ddon't have any other issue, but my computer detects very good my first sd card and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Any idea?
Regards
Recently ive just faced this issue, what I did is to insert my 32gb sd card in my PC and run CHKDISK, havent got any error while performing this, thereafter i inserted it in my phone & goodness till now this sd card error hasn't appear yet. (finger crossed).
Mine did something like this a few times and then the 32GB Sandisk class 10 card died. Couldn't get it to work in any device except Linux based Media player. Luckily managed to copy my nadroid backup and TB backup. Sent to Sandisk and they replaced it. There is already a thread about S3 damaging teh SD cards. May be the loose connection is what's causing the card to to end up dead.

Yeah,as mentioned I have seen a lot of issues about sd cards, this is the first issue I have had and thought it would be worth mentioning. There is little space when the case is together so it could easily still make contact and seem fine even if the connector has worked loose and cause all kinds of issues. As mentioned mine had the sd icon popping up every now and then before it actually failed. Some users seem to be going through a lot of sd cards with them failing on a regular bassis.
I've been using my 32gb card since my last phone which was the LG Optimus 3D it is a scandisk class 10 one. Anyway i took it out of the 3D and stuck it into my S3 i still have not had a problem. I did take it out a few times to put a rom in because i wiped my phone and didn't have a rom in the Sd card. Also i dropped my phone and replaced the whole front silver bumper bit the whole digitizer because i dropped my phone while playing basketball. It still works. It has been a year now it has been in two phones and still works great. I must be lucky..
I got mugged for the SD though i bought it last year for £60 from Argos a store in the UK. Now you can get them for half the price oh well.. I am waiting for the 128gb ones to come out so going to buy one lol..
today also my Sandisk Ultra HC I 32GB it's died, tomorrow I'll test with pc but no sign of life :crying: WTF samsung !!!
hey i have the same issue with an 32gb sd card, it was workking great and then i was getting the error about
"SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" and then i tried everything i could and my computer detect the sd card and it seems to be working normal but in my phone i have the error over and over again and it was draining my battery too, and the only thing i did was change to another 16gb sd card and this one is working.
maybe there is a problem with the 32gb sd cards
I have a 16GB Sandisk UHS-1 card and i have been getting this issue as well, and its becoming more and more frequent. Whenver it happens, the ringtones/notifications for certain apps like Gmail and Message get reset as the ringtones i set were stored in the sdcard. Also the photo frame app i have on my homescreen often resets to nothing as the pictures were also stored in the sdcard. Its really annoying because I can leave my phone sleeping, only to wake it up realizing my ringtones are all set to silent and my photo frame has been reset. At least i know its a common problem. damn you samsung!
Has anyone actually tried checking the connection on the ribbon as suggested? Mine has been fine since and works fine.

There is no way anyone would know you have opened it, the screws are all Philips instead of t6. As long as you use the correct screwdriver it won't damage the heads and will leave no sign of entery and it takes around 10 mins to complete. Or you could take it to Samsung to do but seems a lot of hassle for such a simple fix.
Also most people are rooted without concern of the warranty.
So there's no seals or stickers that are broken?

Nope, no sticker or seals and just so you know all screws to remove the back are identical, there are only two screws inside which are different but do not need removing for this. You only need a Philips screwdriver ( I used a ph00 x 40) as long as the screwdriver fits the screw well it will not damage the head. Once screws are out a flat head screwdriver or similar are helpfull to prise the back off.
Hi Guys,
A little feedback from my experience with this.
I too was experiencing the "Unexpectedly Removed" error on my 32GB Class10 Sandisk.
It was playing havok with my setup because I use a 8GB Ext4 Partition on the card, where I move 90% of my apps. (About 6GB of that is used by games + their "external" data), and it keeps my phone and FAT32 partition free for important stuff. (I use Link2SD and DirectoryBind)
The problem is, after the device wakes, Link2SD can't find any of the apps, so I can't start any of them, and I have to do a full reboot to get them back. :/
So, after searching and searching, I couldnt find a valid solution.
I tried with a 16GB class10 Samsung, and a 32GB Class10 Samsung card. Exact same setup. NO ISSUES.
Everything works perfectly.
Then I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933743&page=2
Where most of them are experiencing this error with Sandisk cards.
Apparently, it's a known issue with Sandisk Cards (especially the 32GB models), and cards sold after December 2012 no longer experience this.
I have contacted Amazon.co.uk about replacing the card as it's only 2 months old, still waiting for their answer. Will update if anyones interested.
cheers

A curious question if I may.
Was this a SanDisk Ultra (UHS) card? Most (if not all) Android phones do not have a proper UHS-I driver today and, although the card is supposed to switch down automatically, that transition time can fool the OS sometimes.

I read something about UHS compatibility, so I got an SD-HC
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007JTKLEK/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1357264092&sr=8-7&pi=SL75
Is it the same thing?
Hmmm. Ok, might be getting somewhere.
Any idea if these cards have an internal "power saving" system that maybe kicks in if voltage drops below a certain level?

Yes, the red and Grey SanDisk cards are UHS.
Yes, they definitely have controllers and the host device can command them (if it knows how). I know that they allow In System Programming (ISP) for updating firmware. They support auto-standby, power-off and sleep modes but am not certain if the card would switch without command. Check the SD link in my signature if you really need more info.

I tested my SanDisk 64GB Ultra card in a Note 2 and it had the same symptoms (Mine were worse, with the card locking up while playing music after a few minutes, causing mmc timeout errors in the kernel).
I switched to a Samsung 64GB Pro card and since then I haven't had any issue. It's also twice as fast.
The amount of headaches this SanDisk card gave me is insane, probably the last time I buy a card from them.
i have sandisk ultra class 10 32gb. try this setup. use minitool to reformat your card then set it the cluster size to 16kb.
for me so far so good. will test this in a couple of days.

[Q] Is it me, software, hardware or a bad SD Card??

I bought a no name 64GB Class 10 MicroSD card to replace my 32GB but I can't seem to get my data transferred over cleanly. I've formatted it numerous times (exFAT) both on my PC and my GNote. I have the 32GB card backed up to my PC. I've tried copying from my phone (32GB) to the PC (64GB) and vice versa. Sometimes it will go all the way through without a problem but always only some of the files and folders are copied correctly. Other times, it will throw one of several different errors and the stuff that looked had been copied will vanish. For example, this morning I was copying certain files, essentially one by one and checking in ES File manager to see if they were on the phone's external SD card (64GB) and they were. Then after doing this for a bout an hour it would hiccup and everything I'd copied over and verified with ES File Manager would be gone!?
If it matters, I'm running Windows 8 PC with 4GB ram and 1.31 TB of HD storage. On my Gnote i've tried it with both a stock ICS TW ROM and JellyBeer 4.1.0 with no joy. I've done a bunch of searches here and on Google but nothing seems on point. If it's a bad SD Card, how do I test for that?
When I had a weird problem like that it turned out the SD card was fake. This program determines your actual SD card size.
http://fightflashfraud.wordpress.co...ld-standard-in-detecting-fake-capacity-flash/
Other then that, fat32 is what you should use in Android. Maybe even try letting the phone format the card through settings/ storage. Be advised there will be data loss so backup anything beforehand.

sorry that this was the way to find out. No name high capacity SD cards would be a red flag.
I even had a couple that said Kingston 32gb which were actually 2gb. Flea bay and craigslist at its worst.
Thanks for reporting back. Hopefully more people are aware of the SD card validator link I posted now.

The validator is certainly in my toolbox now. Thanx again. It takes forever to run on the large capacity drive but it was definitely worth. The white lettering is beginning to smudge. Really low class work. I'm getting my money back . . . I think. I think the poor schlub who sold it to me bought and is selling a bunch of them. I think he now knows how exposed he is.

[Q] Can't format micro SD card (write protected, parsing error)

I've tried pretty much everything so far. Suddenly, it doesn't allow any more writes. Any songs and files currently present work with no issues. Anything downloaded/pushed through adb is either corrupted (songs are out of sync, music is all fuzzy) or just won't open altogether (parsing error).
Deleting any file works, until the card is reset. After that, all the deleted files are restored. Any pushed files will also be deleted after a remount.
I'm trying chkdsk right now but I can't format it in any possible way, and the write protected switch on the SD card adapter is OFF.
SD card is sandisk ultra, class 10.
Any ideas what else to try? To format I've tried windows, guiformat and SDformatter.
SD card is 64GB, FAT32 and 32KB allocation size.
Also, anything copied from the SD card to windows works just fine.
In fact, the last recorded files are some photos, dated 13/4 (13 of april). I have no idea why it has suddenly stopped the write cycles.
If formatting through phone, it'll 'format it successfully', but instantly after it'll show that the same space is used as before, so no rewrite actually happened.
It's driving me insane now.

OK, @JJE, your post doesn't help at all. It would make a lot more sense if you took a few extra seconds to specify WHICH POST (like add the link) so we can get to the solution you're talking about.
@Choristav: I had the exact same problem, with the exact same MicroSD card, went through the same motions of attempted fixes and frustration. Ultimately, I had to just return the card under warranty (and that too, physically go to the location so I could see them destroy the card since it contained private data that just wouldn't go away!). I decided to exchange for 2 x 32GB cards instead for use on cameras/handicams.
I had another new MicroSD card of the same make which I used successfully thereafter for about 6 months, but the same problem has resurfaced! That just leads me to think that these Sandisk Ultra Class 10 Micro SDXC cards have a problem, at least while using on smartphones.
So in short, I hate to say this, but I think the card has gone defective so your solution may lie in just availing the warranty for it. Before I return my second card though, I will spend some time looking around, over the next couple of days, to see if I find a simpler solution (like if there's some way to successfully "unlock" and format the card) and if I find it, I will post the link to the solution. Cheers!
I had the same problem with my SanDisk card.. After being so frustrated, I bought a new sd card, this time from Samsung and it's working fine. Btw the SanDisk support is crap: they asked me if I know how to insert the card in my pc or how to open it and I was like.... Shut up ?
Crappy model... needs to be recalled!

Yes, SanDisk support was asking me dumb questions too and sending me through some scripted routines, but my response cut them short and they approved the RMA... I said, "I've already tried all the suggested solutions, this is a well-known problem with this particular model, you should look up forums on the internet to make yourselves aware. aaand BTW, you guys may want to be smart and either recall this product, or hand out an advisory that this model shouldn't be used on smartphones, cuz given the large number of folks who have lost data and time with this product, you may be exposing yourselves to a class action lawsuit. Just sayin'..."
RMA approved. I insisted on replacement with 2 x 32GB cards.

Question SD Card Issues

Well just picked up my new A52 5G really enjoyed it at first but now my SD card keeps getting unmounted every time I restart the phone. ( The best part about this is the SD cards are made by Samsung tried 2 different ones both are 128G) (SAMSUNG: EVO Select 128GB MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME128HA)
The typical SD problems Samsung is known for. Asking Samsung for solutions is not very informative. Please any suggestions would be great.
If not I guess I just ditch Samsung A52 5G and go back to the other evil the iPhone. Heck at least every time you turn that on it always works.
This sure seems like a great phone but that SD card issue is really a big deal at least for me.
HAve you tried the same SD cards on other phones or a different SD card on the same phone?
Yes, I actually bought 2 exact same cards, no issues anywhere I use them except in the new Samsung A52 5G.
Reading a lot of other posts seems to be a pretty big issue with Samsung and Android 11.

What about if you borrow a card from a different brand? I swtiched the old SD card i was using onto my A52 5G and never had any issues. Could it be a problem with samsung cards? For reference I use a Kingston 32GB MicroSDHC with UHS 1
Try formatting card in phone if that doesn't get it try doing a low level format on the PC with a 3rd party app do not use the Windows formatting utility.
Then format again in phone.
Load card through phone.
Formatting the SD card was the first thing I did using a Linux PC. (Manjaro OS ) This was always my goto if I have formatting problems. The SD card was done in exFAT, however no luck.
The other option is buy a different brand SD card as mentioned above by "ImGonnaTryScience". (Thanks)
The card I'm looking at is the
SanDisk 128GB Extreme MicroSDXC U3, V30, 4K, A2, Micro SD.
I'm thinking maybe the Samsung SD cards are to slow, but who knows.
What doesn't make sense is the Samsung SD cards work everywhere with no issues.
I even have an old Galaxy Tab 7, Samsung SD cards works great in that. Speaking of my old Tab 7 I tried formatting the SD cards with that and then put them back into the A52 5G. This didn't work either. My thinking was Samsung should like Samsung but my thinking was wrong. (Maybe I should stop thinking.)
Speed in SD cards matter sometimes (for example the SD card I use in my dashcam needs to be a certain minimum speed otherwise it won't be able to record properly), but I find it very odd that it wouldn't work for a phone.

Not giving up just yet, I really like the A52 5G.
V30 should be fairly fast from internal memory to SD card less using the C port.
If you did a low level format then put it in the phone with not data on it, then formatted in the phone again... it should work.
I've had issues like this on my S4, now you see it, now you don't. I had to do a low level format to make it readable even on Windows. May have been a bad card but all sectors were intact.
May be card brand. Even afterward it would not see the requiring a reboot.
I'm using the Lexar .5tb V30 card in my Note 10+ and unlike what happened on the S4 the 10+ recognized immediately. Formatted it in the phone and zero issues since.
OP I feel you. This is a frustrating issue that really jams a monkey wrench in the cogs.
I be seeing red.
Pedal to metal, no brains diagnostic solution; get the Lexar card if the size and speed rating fit your needs.
$64 and known to work out of the box.

These devices can be damaged by ESD. Careful handling will eliminate the possibility.

Don't touch the contacts.
It's not a ram stick but better safe than sorry.
Well I may have solved my problem. I completely wiped the SD Card using MiniTool Partition Wizard. However I didn't add a partition or any kind of formatting. Once the card and partition was completely wiped I put it back into the A52 5G and let it do its own partitioning and formatting of the SD Card. Everything is working really well no more SD card errors, just hope it holds. ( 12hrs and still working, before that the error would pop every 30 minutes or so.) ( Still using my original SAMSUNG: EVO Select 128GB SD Card)
I'll update the progress in a few days.
Some reason the wipe of the partition seemed to do the trick. I don't really understand why since like I said the card worked well in everything except the A52. Maybe Samsung changed the format structure compared to there previous tablets and phones. Maybe its even an issue with Android 11 . All formatting in the past was always exFAT however something changed with this phone. I hope this will help out others who may be experiencing the same problem.

It's possible there was some app on it with a secure partition or something.
It may take or do what one card* did in my S4+, while never lost data it would go through spells of not being recognized by the phone requiring a reboot. No rhythm or reason to it.
Having to low level format a new card is not a good sign.
Next card get a Lexar, slam it in, format, good to go.
* it wasn't recognized by the phone or Windows. Only the Lexar formatting app could access it. After a low level format it was visible to the phone and Windows.
Really?
Well I said I would let everyone know the progress. Simple terms FAIL.
6:00AM this morning the error came back. ( SD Card was removed unsafely )
So I guess now I'll try the new SD card I mentioned above or the one mentioned above by Blackhawk ( Thanks for the info. )
(SanDisk 128GB Extreme MicroSDXC U3, V30, 4K, A2, Micro SD.)

Well .5 tb will be nice to have.
I hope this works...
Format in phone.
I would leave the card in the phone and up/download data via the phone rather than removing the card to do so.

Found another interesting read. Maybe Android 11 is the issue.
Reading through this post I see the Scandisk Extreme SD card has issues to.
problem with "sd card removed unsafely" notification
hello, can you guys help with this issue? looks like it is not just an A72 problem, but also on other models. the notification is very frequent, and happens even while the phone is on standby. what i tried so far a 128gb sandisk extreme pro...

I have no love for 11 and running on Pie quit happily on my Note 10+.
Can't say that Lexar card is know good for your phone because it uses a faster and different memory controller as well as the imfamous A-11 OS.
However before blaming the hardware or firmware I would give the Lexar a shot. It's a nice card to have regardless.
Well I picked up the sd card member Blackhawk was talking about this morning. A Lexar High-Performance 633x 512GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Card. I put the card in fresh out of the package let the A52 format the card about 4 hours later same as before, the fault came back. After reading the post the Blackhawk wrote about his pie made me think I'll try that. Fired up my pie4 and let the pie4 do the format. Well no luck there either within 30 minutes the fault came back. Well now I know its either the A52 or its Android 11. The cards both work really well in all may other devices. However the A52 5G is the only thing running Android 11. Now the question is return the phone or wait for Android 12.

Sorry to hear that. I meant that Pie as in Android 9. Try the Lexar low level formatting utility if you can find it. Again, format in phone before you use it to be on the safe side.
It seems it's the phone.
Try clearing the system cache.
Doubt check setting and clear data in associated apks. It still may be something not so obviously obvious... Androids wuv being played with.
Well I finally got the respond for Samsung I was looking for. It's not the SD card but an issue with there firmware. They claim it will be addressed with the next update. I used the Samsung Members App to send them an error report from my device and the response was quite pleasing.
( See there response)
Congratulations, you're a remote Samsung beta tester!
Just sloppy and unprofessional on Samsung's part and no fix... yet.
Eventually they'll get it but it should have never made it out for retail sale like that
Personally I'd consider asking for a full refund as without a working SD card slot the phone becomes a liability for me... as if this little ride hasn't already. That used 10+ is looking more tempting to me.
Wow. Well done
Hi another issue with SD. When I have tried to make a backup on the an SD card via the setting app it stuck after 85% and the result of it I got an SD with "write protection" which I can't change not via DOS not with other 3rd party tools. by the way its working on Samsung tablet including format and copy files but when I put is back to my mobile or try to check it on PC to delete the portion or make any change it still same issue "write protection". Would appreciate any idea before I put it to garbage. Thanks
