Can't wait to see what useful bits the developers find in there.
Maybe at least beaups and Jcase can look to see if it plugs any of the exploits.

Brought back teeter did they used to like that game.

Well the only "good" way to really look is for someone to install the update....

Ya you could flash the stock recovery but may not be able to unlock the bootloader again. I would be a lot more gung ho if I had S-Off.

Even if we did update it, couldn't we do the Stock RUU in windows to get back?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2

i am by no means a developer but I did unzip the file and peek around there is a folder called firmware.zip and inside it has what appears to be all new
boot.img
hboot_signedbyaa.img
radio.img
recovery.img
and a file called android-info.txt with the text
modelid: PL8320000 cidnum: VZW__001 mainver: 2.04.605.2 btype:1 aareport:1 hbootpreupdate:12
so yeah i wouldn't flash this.. but who am I to tell you what to do..

Don't think so the RUU will tell you that you have the wrong version and can't go back. Its forward only. The other issue is we don't have DEV Unlock from HTC. S-Off wouldn't be a big deal if we had official unlock from HTC that's were we are getting screwed. Otherwise I would flash to stock, update, use HTC Unlock then pull the ROM, but we can't do that here.

The devs will work magic soon... no rush

When I get home tonight(in 5 hours) I'll flash it and try to unlock.. But i am sure within the hours someone will have already done that and reported

I know someone will beat me to it, but I'll be making a flashable .zip tonight after school for rooted users. It won't have some of the stuff, but we won't lose unlock/root.

There are some landscape pics in there I wonder if it brings landscape to the home screens/launcher

Am I correct in saying the radio changes can't be flashed because we are S-off?
I'm virtuous to hear what changes Dsb finds in the kernel that he can use.

I wish I was S-OFF but I'm still S-On which for this stuff can be a setback. Like I've been saying its HTCs Dev Unlock that is screwing us/me. Damn you Verizon and HTC.
We should still be able to flash the radios but we need someone to make us a update.zip. correct me if I'm wrong but they should be signed by HTC and if prepared correctly should be flashable.
Edit:
I'm not sure that our hboot looks for an update.zip.

If not looking to go back to "stock" condition. but only to try the ROM, is there any reason to relock the bootloader first?
thats the only way to do it just wait i will have rom up towmmarow im at school right now
I've tried installing this via hboot both unlocked and relocked and it doesn't actually do anything. it checks the image then just goes back to hboot. Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?
you have to fastboot oem locked and externel sdcard if that doesnt work then its a bad download
Hmm, not sure what you mean but I've followed the relock process and put the IMG on my external SD as before unlocking as directed. it seems others are having the same issue specifically with the Telus one:

then im not sure but tmous ones work
Not sure if this image will help you but xboder is right on how to flash it, when I got this ROM my phone was unlooked and I had s-off but I flashed it on my original telus ROM, maybe that's a requirement? Sorry I can't be of any help to you.

[ROM][UPLOADED!] HTC Amaze 4g Stock Rom & Deodexed Stock Rom

Hello everyone! I saw that there wasn't a stock rom for this device... so, i decided to hack at the T-mobile RUU to get the necessary files to make this.

They all helped get this here!
ATM, this is in testing. so there isnt a deodexed verison yet. Once i know that the full stock version works i will make a deodexed version for you themers and rom makers out there (it makes life so much easier)
What this does >>
This rom resets the phone back to 100% stock! It removes the following... themes, mods, tweaks, etc.
Downloads:
Test_v1- http://uploading.com/files/5913cecb/T-mobile_1.43_Stock_Rom_testv1.zip/
Please test and report if it works or not... and if it boots up, let me know what doesnt work. thanks
Install Instructions >>
Make nandroid backup
Download & put rom on sdcard
Boot into recovery mode (4ext prefered so the kernel flashes)
Flash the Super Wipe script
Flash this rom
Reboot...
WARNING!
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE! EVEN IF IT DOES ANY OF THE FOLLOWING... SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST INTO FLAMES, MELTS A HOLE THROUGH YOUR HAND, OR TRANSFORMS INTO A EVIL FIGHTING ROBOT AND CREATES ITS OWN ARMY ENSLAVING THE HUMAN RACE.

Coming from a Samsung Vibrant which is easy to root and flash roms.
Why are the new HTC devices so difficult, I mean I've been on my samsung for two and half years so now that I finally came back to HTC after 4 years everything seems like a pain in the butt to do. I have to unlock the bootloader in order to root, then I have to unlock s-off which I heard stands for security on/off yet I still don't understand it and to do that I need to do some wire trick that is still really not explained that well, and all this so I can flash a custom rom.
I'm curious though as to how this s-off method was recently released how have people used and created other roms if this was the first s off method?
I apologize if I come off sounding like a noob, but HTC is different from what I remembered on the G1 and myTouch 3G.

[Q] Sooo Confused about S-Off Prerequistes & Procedures

Ok here are the steps I have taken since acquiring my HTC Rezound. I checked and noticed that it was running ICS when I first received it. I then used AIO kit to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP recovery, and gain root access. I was a bit impatient and decided to skip on reading around on how to use adb( I still lack knowledge on using) to gain S-off. I then began flashing roms. While I have not experienced any extraordinary issues since doing this, I have noticed that life is a lot easier being S-off. I would like to know if I can go S-off from these aforementioned steps, or do I need to revert everything I have done up to this point and start over or what. By the way, I was an idiot and accidentally deleted my stock rom off the sd card so I really have nothing to restore other than the roms I have been running which have all been ics roms. I've read a lot of different information on this and am not sure what to do. Any help in getting me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Does this entail the method I used to unlock my bootloader?? Sorry if I sound so cautious, just do not want accidentally brick my phone or to hear my wife's crap if something unfixable happens.

[Q] Updating from 1.15 to 2.06 Help!!

Hey all, forgive me if this is posted somewhere, but I've looked and not been able to find it. I am on VZW 1.15, I have never accepted any of the OTA updates, but I'm ready to do so now. I am unlocked/rooted S-ON. Is there a method to go from 1.15 to 2.06 without having to relock/unlock? Or am I stuck relocking accepting the updates, then re-unlocking? Thanks!

You don't need to relock. If you're on a stock Rom you can go here. Install the stock recovery and take the OTA. Then just put your custom recovery back.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025807
Well... That's what I thought I read the first time, but, when I accept the OTA, it downloads, then reboots, and starts the install, but only gets about a 1/4 of the way through it, the it reboots and says it failed to update.. error "410" I believe. Any ideas?

Not sure you might have to ruu for this to work.
Why do you want to do this?? Flash the radio and kernel then run the Stock rooted rom from the last update.

Kernel should be in the newest stock rooted rom package.

I don't understand. What if I'm s-on, unlocked, rooted, custom ROM. Can I use this to go back to stock if I want to send in for warranty?

To get LOCKED status, by resetting unlock flag you must be s-off.
I am getting Error 155 when running this with unlocked boot loader s-on, custom recovery and customer tmobile stock rom. ANy suggestions? I downloaded again.

I think no need to have stock recovery to run RUU, you only need to have relocked bootloader to run RUU, Or maybe relocking the bootloader automatically installs the stock recovery..... Correct me if i am wrong please?

U need stock recovery and locked bootlaoder, u don't have to have s-off, but if you don't do it now, there's no telling when u'll be able to again
