SOME SITES CAUSE PROBLEMS
ESPN & CBSsports are 2 that do not work in WebView-based browsers. Workarounds: visit mobile versions (m.espn.com & m.cbssports.com), or turn off "desktop" in Naked Browser's bottom menu to request mobile versions of sites.
"I’d say he’s done a pretty good job. There are no superfluous functions or bloat of any kind, and you aren’t even expected to put up with ads."
--Conan Troutman, xda-developers.com moderator/news writer
TIPS
• Close current tab by touching its tab bar button.
• The "desktop" button allows you to view full, rather than mobile, versions of sites.
• Swipe right --> to show bookmarks/history. Long press bookmarks/history to edit.
• One finger zoom: Double-tap and hold, then swipe left/right to zoom.
• Undo close tab: Long press new tab "+" button.
• Access tab history: long press current tab button.
• Choose a search engine for URL bar search: Long press "go".
• Go directly to recent history: Long press the "forward" -> button.
• Routinely use the "exit" button & close unused tabs to minimize crashes.
• Adobe Flash support: Download Flash from the Adobe web site & install http://tinyurl.com/4aflash
• Read through browser options for more tips.
OTHER BROWSERS TRACK USERS!
This thread discusses violations in several popular browsers: http://tinyurl.com/pbrowse
Not concerned with privacy? Spying wastes resources (battery, bandwidth, CPU) and slows your device.
DATA
Naked Browser does not use data to spy, monitor, or even show ads. All data transfer is solely as a result of your requests & retrievals. Because Naked Browser is designed for efficiency, you may use more data simply because you can browse sites faster.
SECURITY
Naked Browser uses the Android WebView (WebKit) that's on your device--the same one used by the stock Browser. All data requests & retrievals, all cookies, all passwords, etc. are handled by the WebView and Naked Browser does not interfere with the default behavior.
BEWARE PHISHING
Naked Browser does not and may never employ a phishing filter, which can warn you if you have visited a site suspected of hosting malware. This does not mean that Naked Browser is insecure, but that--like with any web browser--you should be careful what sites you visit.
PERMISSIONS
• Internet: ONLY for your web page requests & retrievals. Absolutely no monitoring or snooping, & ad-less too.
• File read/write: ONLY so you can save & upload files. Absolutely no other reason.
• View network state: ONLY to handle changes in network connectivity.
• Keep device from sleeping: ONLY to prevent downloads from being cut off.

Looks good
Does it allow adding Accuweather RSS feed for getting weather outside of US?

Yes. You can get weather info from other countries too.
City search by name or partial name available.
Sorry for my bad English. I'm from Russia.
Sweet little app small, light on data
Just a couple of ideas:
Swipe right to change between Current Today 5 day "still have tabs on bottom" but don't have it swipe to Accuweather.com as could be accidental data costs. Swipe left opposite.
The Accuweather could be under view again for reason above, i know that it's linked to 5 day.
Nicer weather icons "Beyond Invisible" or the likes.
Being able to choose a custom wallpaper, colour background
Text Black or White or even more...
Thankyou for a cool light weather app

Thanks for your feedback.
Probably I should explain some program behavior and functionality. Program internally contains 6 links to the AccuWeather site for mobile devices.
2 implicit links - when you switch from the "Current" or "Today" tabs to the "AccuWeather" tab. In this case integrated web browser shows the correspondent and different weather info for each tab.
4 explicit links - on the "5 Days" tab named "Details". When you click on "Details" link you switch to the "AccuWeather" tab automatically and browser shows the detailed forecast information.
All these links are not accidental. This is a part of license agreement between me and AccuWeather for freeware products.
I like it! Its really good and as i have a limited data plan its handy as its so light.

I totaly understand what you are saying about license agreement
I'm just thinking about user freindlyness as the links could open up the page that is the 4th Tab to which would allow 3 x tabs bredth more finger friendly.. Same with swiping finger.
Oh just another little thing X could be minimize as if program closed then on open it searches data again on open, eazily fixed my side by adding to Task Manager Exclusive.
Thanks again for nice app
good job dave man

Sorry, I was confused by "swipe right", "swipe left" terms - you've imply finger gesture support. It was some misunderstanding from my side.

This is not a problem to translate the program UI to other languages (menu, some labels etc.) BUT the most valuable weather textual information retrieved from the AccuWeather site on English. I'll ask your question about translation to other languages to the their developer's support. I hope than on next week I'll gave you the more complete answer.
Thanks for your interest.
Very nice program. At least a light program that isn't a homescreen plugin.

Nice program - but has a bug
When choosing to see details, it points to search page at accuweather.com, instead of details of your city.

When you tap on "Details" program shows the detailed forecast information for particular day of current selected city. It doesn't search AccuWeather in this case. It directly going to the link retrieved earlier. Please, look on my older post where I've wrote about links to AccuWeather mobile site.
Program doesn't consume more traffic that it need. Some later I'll post my measurements related to this subject.
Thanks.

I've got a reply from AccuWearther about my program localization.
They said that 33 languages are available for developers.
But this service is not free.
Next my step: I want to contact with their Account Manager.
I'm interesting on how much they want and what agreements.
I want to keep the Weather4me as freeware with ability to end-users to support author by donations.
This help author in future development, tech support, etc.
I'm sure that people should be free in their choice.
Thanks to all.

problem
Looks really good application.But I have a problem with it on my HD Dutty's v3.9. When i open it and go through the tabs the windows wait cursor doesn't stop and the pages are loading very slowly.The AccuWeather.com page doesn't load generally.

Kyoraapp v1.2

Hey guys, I'm sure you already know Hillbeast's Kyorarom. Well, in that case you must have heard of Kyoraapp too. But just in case you haven't p), Kyoraapp is an app I specially designed to manage Kyorarom's specific features, like Kyoralock and Kyoratweaks.
Main Menu:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You have two buttons: Kyoralock and Kyoratweaks. But, if you press menu button, you can access Preferences menu from there, in which you'll see:
If you select "Use service?", a service for Kyoralock will be started in background that will execute applock for each app on the list every XX minutes (depending on what's in "time between executions").
Note: Each time you open Kyoralock, applock will be executed only once if the service is disabled.
Kyoralock:
This is a script designed by Hillbeast that "locks" an app into memory, so that the app will be more responsive.
In the TextBox, you can write an apps package name, and press "Add App" to add that package to the applock list, or just push "Execute", that will execute applock on that app only once without adding it to the list.
Or if you want "the easy way", you can press the "List" button right next to the textbox. That will launch a new activity that will recollect all the apps installed on the phone, and put them in a list. There, you select whichever apps you want, and then press "Done". That will automatically add the selected apps to the list.
Kyoratweaks:
In Kyorarom v0.5, a new feature was implemented: Kyoratweaks. This allows the user to enabled or disable some tweaks included in Kyorarom.
If you have any doubts, suggestions, or whatever you want to say, just leave a comment!

You can install it. But it'll be useless since Kyoralock and Kyoratweaks are Kyorarom specific features. That's why I didn't provide any downloads
Nice app, gob job !
i don't understand Kyoratweaks. If this make phone faster why someone wants to have disabled this options? These tweaks should be enebled by default.
Moikop, I have some code somewhere on my pc which translates the com.android.launcher or something like that, to the actual app name.
Also, I take it's a listview you're using? I also have some code lying around where you can change the looks of it (custom listview adapter), this way you could make it like:
icon | name
Contact me if you're interested in the code (;
Dympy.

I'm interested in the code to "translate" the package name into the app's name. I know a way how to do it, but.. let's just say that, that way the app would be slow as hell. So if the code is good, please send it to me by pm
About the listview.. yes, I know about custom adapters. But I decided not to use them because I want to keep the UI as simple, fast and intuitive as possible
Thanks Dympy.

Alternative Browsers

I really am enjoying my Nokia Lumia 920. I am coming from a Galaxy S II.
My biggest complaint however is the web browser.
Areas i find it lacking:
1. No true forward and back buttons.
2. No word wrapping. Ex: If you view XDA on the phone when you zoom in on text you have to scroll left to right.
3. Mobile versions of sites don't always show up.
I have tried the following browsers:
1. UC Browser - Solves the problems of word wrapping. However it seems to load very different versions of websites.
2. User Agent Switcher. Has problems 1 & 2.
I would like to use this thread for people to post possible solutions or reviews of other alternative browsers.

Doesn't work if you've jumped back into the browser from the home screen. Right now, adding front and back shortcuts to your favorites is the only way to have a proper forward and back within the browser.

If you jump back to the home screen, then hold down the back button to switch over from running apps, the back key does work. Its a different paradigm: I think Windows wants to use the task manager more than opening a new instance. I'm still getting used to it, myself.

Surfcube works well but no forward button.
Well the browser needs to enable tabbed browing.. When u visit certain pages you get auto forwarded to adsites and even by hitting the back button is of no use. One ex is way2sms.com this sites opens an adsite and windows phone does not open this in a separate TAB and also there is no way to going to the original site by any means. This is really annoying when i really want to message someone urgently

True but something that syncs bookmarks could be done relatively easily
There were and are still ones for android that use drive (chromemarks i think)
True chrome wont come anytime soon but a chrome like browser would satisfy many

PrecieUX: Opulence is a one-click-applicable home screen decoration pack for BuzzLauncher users. Even if you have never used BuzzLauncher before, you can easily apply this beautiful home screen on your own device (whichever phone it may be) with a few clicks. If you do find it appealing, how-to-apply procedures are prepared for you at the bottom of this post.
Before moving on, please watch the teaser video I've prepared for you. I took time and care producing this video, so please watch in HD!
As the video read, certain privileges are available to only a number of special people. . . people like you. Opulence will bring the luxurious life-style that you deserve to your phone.
Ground up photoshopped matching pixel-to-pixel accuracy, tile-icons boast elegant details in even the phones with the highest resolution available in market today: Full HD (1920 x 1080). Designed and developed using Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4, Opulence is compatible with devices with other resolutions such as but not limited to HD (1280 x 720) or WVGA (800 x 480). Do not worry whether Opulence is going to look the same on your phone, because BuzzLauncher will automatically adjust layout and size of icons for your phone, whichever screen-size or resolution it may have.
Opulence is composed of 3 tabs: Main, Media and RSS. When you're in each of the three tabs, bottom of the tab you're in will glow to indicate the tab you're in. To switch to a certain tab, simply touch the tab you wish to switch to. Switching tab-to-tab is simply gorgeous: it feels like turning on a light-bulb by pressing on it.
The first tab of Opulence is "Main". Graceful widgets intuitively deliver to you information regarding date, time, your schedule, location and the weather. It has never been easier to see the important information so conveniently and so tastefully. Bottom third of the screen has short-cuts to the most necessary functions of your smartphone: downloading new applications, contacting your friends through social network services (folder containing short-cuts to different apps) and using your telephony services. The bottom dock is constant in all 3 tabs. Left tells you the percentage of battery you have left, and right tells you the time. Pressing the "Apps" icon will summon your phone's app-drawer that has all of your applications.
The second tab is your playground. It is worth a lot to live up to tight schedules, but sometimes you should enjoy good music or watch sensational movies. A big album-art of the album you're listening to decorates your second tab, so this tab will be automatically personalised to you individually according to the music you prefer. Without having to leave your home-screen, you can control your music player using the stylish control-icons already prepared for you. The Internet icon connects you to Google Chrome (but the short-cut can be directed to another application if you prefer another browser), and the Multimedia icon is a folder that contains apps most frequently used when listening to music or viewing your pictures and videos.
The third tab, as its name implies, has a gigantic RSS reader widget. Just pull out your phone from your pocket and unlock; the information you want to read will be updated and ready for you. (Press the bottom right corner of the RSS widget to add/remove RSS feeds). If the website you like does not support RSS, you can also choose to make bookmarks to your favorite websites and store them in the Bookmarks folder on the same screen.

yes because camera and gallery is the same app.
we should blacklist the certain activities, not the whole app.
for instance is that camera + gallery case.
Great Concept!
Something i was waiting for...
Really nice !! Working good on Nexus 5 4.4.4 my little cusin will be mad because he won't able to mess with my phone while he is gameing
So this basically is Child Mode implementation if WP8? Or restricted profile in Android tablets right?
Great work for parents >)
Great app
Hi,
This is a great app and is working well but I just wanted to report a slight bug... if in kids mode the homebutton on my Samsung Galaxy S5 is held down then Google Now launches. This isn't so much of an issue but if a search is performed then Chrome opens and the kids are able to get on the Internet and mess with bookmarks etc.
Thanks for your great work on this

Hello,
On devices before s5 , long clicking home button started recents.
Didn't know S5 does that.
I attached below another version that should've fix your issue, care to try please and report back ?
Thank you for your feedback

Think of it as a launcher, only the apps you want in it can be seen.
What are the soft keys that you are using?

What is exactly happening ?
Is it reverting to home screen, recent screen or google search ?
Can you explain a bit more ?
Thanks for making this module! I was thinking that this is just what is needed using Xposed after looking into the parental controls that are in Amazon tablets, and things like the OLPC tablet, and Nabi.
I hope that this can grow into a full featured parental control app with usage time limits, and tracking of what apps are used most. Then no matter what android device I use can be safe from the kids messing up the device, or going where they shouldn't.
If the app usage tracking is added, it could serve much the same purpose as the OLPC tablet does in helping to see what your children are interested in. You could make available many different subject learning apps and see which your kids use most, and help encourage them to explore more deeply into that subject. All without having to report this information to some huge multinational company like google, amazon, or MS.
Thanks for the module! Has potential, however it isn't quite working on my Nexus 4 N5X ROM 4.4.4. I am able to add shortcuts and enable kids mode, but when I press the home key it takes me to my stock home screen not the kids mode home screen!
