[SOLVED] CWM recovery problem - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi, people.
I have a bit of a problem. I can't enter cwm while starting the phone(LWW). I'm pushing the volume down key constantly when blue led turns on. I can enter cwm from xparts and cwm reboot option from nofication bar. The worst part is that it worked before. Please help. I want to put puremiui, but I don't won't to do it before I fix this, because I'm scared if I do something wrong and I want to run the backup stock rom I couldn't. Sorry for my English I'm from Croatia.

Re: CWM recovery problem
When I use xparts I got this problem too. Every I wipe cache/dalvik, cwm is gone. But now after unlocked my phone I didnt use this

Just try pressing vol up or power button or try vol up+down alternatively and see if it works...Just backup all ur apps and data using tb and try flashing stock rom again and then install CWM again if possible and see if it works or u can simply unlock ur bl and install custom kernels which will definitely work
Best Regards,
AJ

It would be great if I unlock bl, but there's no free way to do that and I feel that I don't need it right now. If there won't be any suggestions that would solve the problem I think it's time to say goodbye to my money and unlock bl.

Nope bl can be unlocked for free if you do not have a simlock :good: Just go to dialer and type *#*#7378423#*#* and go to service info->Configuration and see what is written below rooting status?

Try pressing vol up/down, power button and touch the sony logo simultaneously. Even I had this problem half an hour ago on my Xperia S and fixed it by doing the above.

Its a CM7 feature. Don't you like it? Anyways you can always turn it off from the cynogenmod settings.void forever does not hav the settings by default so you must flash the settings first via the proper zip which you can find in the void forever post

If you have a backup then you can restore it to get back to stock(obv). And it is recommended you unroot before taking it to warranty services. Some may allow it, others may not.

flashing is really simple and it took me just 15 minutes a few hours ago to flash .58 fw.
so here it goes.
first, you need to download .58 fw here http://depositfiles.com/files/1inil87p7
then download flashtool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351309
after you downloaded both of that, install the flashtool to your computer. then put the .58 fw that you just downloaded to c:/program files/flashtool/firmwares
means that i recommend to save flashtool on c:/program files.
after you have done that. backup all needed things such as maybe your messages, contacts or maybe apk files using super backup for both messages and contacts and titanium for backing up apk.
after you done that, open flashtool, connect your devices to the computer using usb cable, then flashtool will automatically recognises your phone it will say 'connected devices: SK17'.
then click on the flash thunder icon and choose flashmod, then you will see the .58 fw that you just downloaded earlier. then i recommend you to leave wipe data and cache checked or maybe up to you. because last time i unchecked wipe data and cache i cant root my phone after so thats why i ask u to backup things. and press ok. wait like 1 minute then it will ask you to unplug usb cable, switch off your phone. while your phone switched off, hold down the volume button, plug in devices using usb cable to your computer and power on your device, then you will see flashtool will start flashing.
after flashing is done, unplug the usb cable and switch on your phone then BOOM! you are now on .58 fw. then just simply root it using doomlord zergrush method and thats it.
if you a little bit confuse just follow these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
You can use flashtool: http://androxyde.github.com/ (PM me if you can't download).
I would suggest you to jump on FreeXperia mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226715 as it is way better than stock, and it makes your phone rooted. Hovewer, you need unlock your bootloader.
Thnx a ton for rplying both of you!

oh, benefits of unlocking bootloader is that you can use custom roms and custom kernels, you can even flash custom kernel that can root .62 im not sure check it out somewhere on android development section.
and afaik, if you unlock bootloader you will not get any official updates from se such as in the future the ice cream sandwich updates but im not completely sure

You can always relock your bootloader and update but you can't get back DRM rights...which is not a big issue...so what if track id don't work, there are better similar apps like soundhound. Also there is a method which unlocks bootloader without losing DRM but never test it

1. Unlocking bootloader will stop you from updating through SE official method. But i'm sure you can always flash the firmware using flashtool when the update is available
2. Unlocking bootloader DOES NOT do any harm as far as i'm concern(but void the warranty! If i'm not mistaken). The only way you can damage it is by using third party software/firmware.. Let say you unlock the bootloader > use custom kernel > overclock it like crazy till it melts.
I'm one of the guy with unlocked bootloader..

Yes. Hold down the volume down button keys for mini pro.
You need to do this after you selected your chosen firmware to flash and click ok.
Then you will see a pop up telling you to unplug the USB cable, switch off phone.
Then hold down the volume down, while doing that, plug in your USB cable to your computer and switch on your phone. Don't let go of holding the volume down button yet!
Wait till you see on the flashtool start flashing then it's ok to release the volume down button and that's where the magic started.
No you don't need to unmount your sd card, it will not remove/ delete anything from your sd card except applications or games that are saved on your sd card which is not a big deal you can download it again later or make a backup of its apk.
Hope I help ya

[Q] How do you enter recovery to flash DoomKernel?

Sorry if it's a noob question but I've no idea how to do it. I saw somewhere that you're supposed to press the volume up button when it's booting and a blue LED flashes but that didn't do anything for me. Tried multiple times.
Thanks in advance C:
Turn off
Hold volume up then connect USB
Blue led, you can do it, green LED you cant.
Isn't that fastboot mode? Because that works but I can't figure out how to flash the DooMKernel. There's no option to do it in Flashtool :/

The recboery is included inside the kernel. Because you don't have recovery you have to flash is through fastboot first, then flash the update (zip), Rom, or anything else through the recovery.

Keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty.
First understand everything in the above threads (above links) and then start doing them in your mobile.
After you root your mobile and flash a kernel that has recovery, you can enter into recovery by pressing the volume button few times while the phone is booting.
Go through the threads in the development section first.
NO....it will NOT void your warranty, for the hundredth time....
I swear they tell you to read the warning before you do it, but no one does... It says 'may' which does not mean 'will'. It will only be voided if you overclock or do something stupid and fry your phone.
For rooting and general mild modifications it will NOT void your warranty. Even overclocking really won't unless you go overboard.

Hopefully Not Bricked!!!

I recently purchased an atrix from a friend that was already updated to 2.3.6 and i successfully rooted it. After that i was under the impression i needed to unlock the bootloader to be able to get a shiny new rom on it. I followed the instructions given by G-Man in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26956828#post26956828
Now all i get is a FAILED TO BOOT 0x1000 screen. Im afraid to do anything else from here and risk bricking and flushing a few hundred bucks down the toilet
Can i flash the official 4.5.141 sbf?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You're right... i apologize.
Yes i found it... thank you very much for the direction.
so have u unsoftbrick your phone?,that tool is very easy for us to unlock bootloader and flash CWM recovery
Yes i did, its an amazing tool!!
to get into CWM do i have to use a button combo or do i need to download rom manager?
Button combination is the safest way, and works every time.
I personally prefer not to use Rom Manager for anything other then replacing (Updating) the recovery. In many custom roms there is a possibility to reboot the device straight to recovery, in the reboot menu.
Enjoy

[Q] Xperia Go - Touch doesn't work

Recently, I formated my Xperia GO, flashed ICS and suddenly my touch screen does not response. Re-formated it , and still the same. Side keys like Vol + - , power button.. They work, but still the touch doesn't response.
Tell me what to do sooner, please.
Please response, I dont know what to do with my phone. My touchscreen is probably locked , I can't use anything.. even enter pin from sim card.
It's possible you flashed wrong ftf file. Someone suggested flashing back to GB. Make sure you use right ftf.

I gave the device at the service, they said they'll check it. I hope my warranty works, cuz I re-locked the bootloader with a .ftf file while I was on GB. I think it was successfull. Otherwise, I'm dead.
