Mms apk with group texting?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Are there any stock messaging apps that handle group texting correctly? It's absurd to me that our stock app doesn't have this. And I've used hand cent as well, which technically shouts what I need, but I've found it causes other issues and overall I just don't like it.

Silly Facebook, developers... Just fix the notifications/instant updates.
I gotta remind myself to get to a damn blackberry.
So I can only get it from the new market? BRB, installing new market...

WHY DO WE LIKE IT? It's weird to think that this can be a standalone app apart from the clusterzuck that Facebook can be but, well, it really can. It's as good as GroupMe or Kik or WhatsApp in the sense that you're chatting with friends without racking up SMS charges but it's better than those services because most people have Facebook accounts and don't need to sign up for a new service. It's easy to add buddies to chat (through their Facebook account or phone number), almost scary easy to attach your location to each message and less complicated than GroupMe to start a group chat.
Even if you hate Facebook, you don't hate your friends right? The Facebook-ness of the app is invisible enough that even the most anti-Facebook guy will have to admit this is actually decent. Seriously, strip the Facebook away and what you get is a messaging app that your friends have already signed up for. Why not try?

There's built in chat in the Facebook app, been that way for a while now guys...granted their notifications aren't working right for most people but the chat works just fine.
side note: are they gonna fix multi-quote on these boards soon? some problem with ad-block?
Could one of you share the apk, it's telling me a dumb error like my phone is not compatible and does the same for the official facebook app ....
[edit]Found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210604
I tried this but the notifications arnt working. I've enabled all alerts, light sound vibrate but when I receive a message there's nothing. I have to go to the app to know i got one

[Q] Stock ICS Email Links?

I just spent 20 minutes searching the threads and can't find my answer, so I thought I would take a chance and make a thread about this. If there is a thread about this, I apoligize in advance and I will go and crawl under a rock and hide! I'm just curious Why are all links in our emails not clickable they are just text format, I found something about this in a different site but I think the expertise in XDA is far superior, IMO so I don't trust anybody else...Thanks in advance.

Just to elaborate on my original post, what I found on the other site was that someone said that the legal team at Apple is what caused us to lose the ability to click on links in our email, which sounds stupid....
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
Yeah I don't use stock email app since gmail is my only email :/
That's weird... Google has been slipping lately
But to elaborate on your elaboration, if the legal issue was true, why does Gmail allow it? Is HTC in the meat grinder deeper than Google maybe?

With all the bs apple is doing to keep their competition on lockdown just so they won't get out sold, you can't really blame htc, best option would be to find an alternative email app as you previously said, though to be honest, I only use the default because I'm too lazy to configure my school account on the hotmail app.
I have the same issue.
Rooted and Flashed my Amaze 4g Telus yesterday and now on ICS.
Can't click on any links in emails and that's very anoying since i have 3 email account link to the phone and have plenty of links in them.
Anything that could help to bring back that feature ?
It's a no go, thank apple for that.
I don't think that's the case cause i had ICS on my Desire HD just before that phone and the links where still there.
I figured it out you have to go into settings, then send & receive, and change the mail size limit. The default is at 5kb, which is only text. If you change it to maximum size it will even show pictures. You have to reset app after you change the size limit so it takes effect though.

Blazer ROM 1.6 - Exchange Issue - Email messages getting truncated

I'm having a weird issue that I can't quite figure out the cause of. I have my Sprint S3 rooted and have flashed the Blazer ROM 1.6 on it. I haven't had any issues that I know of until now. I have my work email, which is run on a Microsoft Exchange Server, hooked up to my phone. I get notifications fine, emails, invites, etc. However, randomly, emails will not show up in their entirety. It will show 5 or 6 lines of the email and then nothing else. If I forward the email to another account, like my gmail account, the entire email is there.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I have tried searching and can't find anyone else with the issue. I thought at first it was my particular phone, but I returned it and got another S3 and the same thing happens.
Right now I have it back to stock, still rooted, and I'm not seeing the issue. That's what's making me think it might have to do with the Blazer ROM.
Hopefully someone else has come across this issue.
Should be in the Blazer thread not General......
You might try a full wipe and reflash. I have not heard reports of truncated messages.

I'm glade you like it as I have been using it for quite sometime now. I like that you can back it up in TB and take it with you from rom to rom. Plus you don't have to lock down your phone, just lock the email application itself.

What exactly do you mean by not having to lock down your phone, just lock the email application itself? You mean securing it so no one can get into your email?

Go SMS Pro....Gone Bad

I've been using Go Sms Pro since it first ce to Android. It was hands-down the best sms replacement in my opinion. The last two updates however have changed my opinion about it. They started pushing Ads like those annoying scam apps. The last one in particular made me uninstall it. It now places Ads on the bottom of the screen. I'm done with them.
Is there any app besides Handcent, Chomp, Texter that is a good pop up sms replacement. There are many apps on the market aand I've personally come across some awesome apps that wasn't on the top of the list of best apps. So is anyone has some suggestions on apps they use or come across, I'd appreciate it.

Mysms. If the person you're texting also got it installed then the text will be send over cellular data, else it'll be send as normal sms over your carrier.
I'll look those up.

AOSP Messaging... Will it ever be?

Will there ever be aosp messaging available on the one max? I miss the quick reply so much and I don't like the apps in the app store that do it. I prefer it as a stock messaging app
There will soon no longer an aosp messaging app. Google is forcing a lot of their closed apps on android.

Have you looked at 8sms on the Play Store? It's pretty much straight aosp messaging, with quick reply as well...

This. It's an AOSP messaging copy. If you really want it to be your stock messaging app, just delete your stock app with a root explorer then set 8sms to "Standalone Mode" in its settings.

Hangouts is not AOSP messaging lol. It's Google's closed-source, half-assed replacement for AOSP messaging.

I am pretty sure that hangouts is to replace standard messaging app. Don't agree with your opinion you expressed but you have the right to feel that way. Honestly thought ( and it is that way on my gnex) hangouts replaced it.

It is supposed to replace the standard messaging app, but it's not the "new AOSP messaging" app, it's Google's closed source replacement version. There's plenty of articles on it, Google has been replacing open-sourced parts of Android with close-sourced proprietary versions. They have to do it unfortunately, it makes manufacturers rely on Google's services more.
Technically, AOSP messaging is now dead in terms of updates from Google, just like the AOSP launcher.

Ahh. Honestly didn't know that. From what I've heard this is related to Google being more strict with what OEMS can do. Some of what Google is doing is good some is bad. I like how the OEMS will have to adhere a bit more but that point you made is very valid.
