XBMC for Android (Must have app IMO) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

My buddy was showing me his jailbroken ATV and had this running! I did some research and found out they just released a stable version for android and it is the perfect match for this beast of a phone!
Here is the link:
http://www.xbmcandroid.com/2013/01/...iendly-release-of-xbmc-for-android-must-have/
And moderators, if this is against any forum policies I apologize, I just... I got excited. I just wanted to shout it from on top of a mountain. But I didn't have a mountain; I had a newsroom and a camera.

What is it exactly?

Media center... and much much more. Check out the link, it has all the info you'll need.

To get HD movies to stream across your network you will probably need this custom codec for the sound http://www.equisoforum.com/Thread-HOWTO-MKV-DTS-Audio-Codec-for-MX-DICE-Player

I have personally ran xbmc on my last 3 droids in conjunction with my lan's media server. Long story short is that your Note 2 will become the coolest remote...

Neon

It isn't just a remote you can actually stream vids to your phone

Definitely not Tegra. Thank god.

Just installed this and it is awesome. So far my favorite video Add-Ons are 1Channel, Free Cable and Icefilms.

So, the download no longer works for the neon touchscreen version. Had this a week ago and it worked but when I switched to Jedi I didnt back it up. Now I cant install it. Can anyone confirm or send to a new link?

TubeDroid is Back!

TubeDroid a youtube downloader app
You can download video's from you android and save them on your SD card!
You also download as Mp3 and tagged as them as such!(similar fashion to iTunes)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMKg0n4-ZaE
I usually hate the "try this app" posts, but thank you for this one. I used this app for a long time before it disappeared, nice to know it's back.

?? What is so special about this one... Tubemate is still around and it downloads MP3 as well.
Only thing that holds me back from buying is I have been using a computer version of a YouTube downloader and it has to get updated every now and then to be able to download certain videos. This not being in the app store makes me feel funny about getting those updates and it not being able to download all videos I want.
Anyone wanna chime in on this?

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
It may be as simple as downloading the package, pulling the apks and side loading the apps. Nothing there I really care about though.
A lot of the features will need framework support. This is a leaked "official" Samsung ROM...unless a dev wants to take the time to try to port some of the new stuff, we probably won't see them until the international version gets updated to 4.2.2.

Yupp, I'm letting you know now before you spend the money Tasker is probably the most powerful app in the store, it's unintuitive, and has a learning curve. That being said, there's lots of YouTube tutorials to get you started, learning Tasker makes your phone a lot smarter than you even realize it could be, and @eBoody has made his tutorial on how to set up his rom toggler very easily. make sure you thank him for it and good luck.

This is not dual booting at all.. ROM Toggler uses nandroid backups to switch between Roms. Everytime you want to switch Roms you have to wait minutes nandroid backup and restore, that's definitely not dual booting.
With Devil you use the same kernel for each rom whether TW or AOSP, each Rom has it's own partition for apps... it's just a completely different concept.
Telling the OP he can dual boot with any ROM and any kernel is misleading. My 2 cents :good:
Anyway, buying Tasker is not a bad idea
Yea after doing some research I notice it just works off of nandroids and doesn't dual boot and it was misleading so devils dual boot is still the way to go in my opinion
