I fully agree with you. Some times I just do a full repair just to have a retro-feel of my Mimmi for some minutes.

Sure bro :good:
First you need some tools - read here first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033415
In OP in the link, i have provided some simple instructions in setting everything up.
Most likely you already got the USB drivers, so all you need is to install the framework-files (APK Tool SEMC)
When you are done, read the 6 schools, it should give you some feeling about what has to be done.
When ever you read something that's not clear, just come back here and ask. I promise I will answer ALL and give feedback (other newbies are welcome to read-along, and don't hold back on your questions).
And then we just take it step by step to se what is needed from the two Themes to get the result you want. :highfive:

Install the framework files?

What does it mean?

Apktool
your first step is to install the two frameworkfiles i provide in my little essentials pack.
This is done from command prompt. simply write the two commands in the instructions, and they will be installed.
EDIT: Newest Apktool is 1.5.2
APK Tool 1.5.2 SEMC (X10 Mini/Pro ready): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zdj05ad6uds032i
1. First install Java SE Runtime Environment. Download here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-7u2-download-1377135.html
2. Download APK Tool and extract: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zdj05ad6uds032i
3. Open the folder and clik on Command Prompt.bat
4. In command prompt type:
apktool if framework-res.apk
apktool if SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
5. Copy the two theme-APKs into the apktool-folder and run these two commands from command prompt:
apktool d (name-of-theme-1.apk)
apktool d (name-of-theme-2.apk)
This will decompile the apk files and you can now look in folders and see a lot og PNGs and XMLs.
first just look and open some XMLx (don't edit anything).
Tell me when you can do this

[RELEASED]REBOOT item[without framework-res.apk mod]

Finally, i did not have to modify framework-res.apk.
Because reboot icon is look like sync icon
It uses ic_popup_sync_1.png in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-mdpi.
Tested 2.1.1.A.0.6, it works well.
and 2.0.1.A.0.47. too
It works with(original se framework):
-2.1.1.A.X.X
-2.0.1.A.X.X
I made one for 2.0.2.A.X.X, i will share it asap.
How to:
1. make backup
2. download your version from attachments.
3. unzip package
4. start INSTALL.bat
5. it will say "Go to xRecovery menu, and connect your phone, then press ENTER.", so go to xrecovery menu, and connect your phone, then press enter.
if your phone doesn't start as well as before, please write me your firmware version.
Wow! Really great work! Which FW are you working on? 2.1 AOSP, 2.2 AOSP, or modded SE's stock FW (I'd say that when I look at the statusbar)?
It would be nice if someone ports 2.3 I'd like to help but I'm not a Linux user, and I don't know where should I look at when fixing stuff in ported FW...
"TtPsEs" hahaha, i cant wait to see the rom , keep going
Would be nice to know wich version (2.1; 2.2; 2.2.1; 2.3; 2.3.1) ?
I like the idea with the reboot option on the menu. This is a basic option that should be on all phones.
Could you upload only these mod? :>

yes, but i made it with another method.... it restarts well the phone, without bug and etc, and its avalible in all languages. i made it with googleing. i found a thread witch described the guide of five method. and firstly i learned to "use" smali and baksmali, and my services.jar developing was succesful(change clock color). in this mod i use SE codes. I DIDN'T MODIFY FRAMEWORK-RES.APK
jeaah, sorry. it's 2.1 but it's will be more optimized than the original one. now i have 112MB rom free when my phone starts up, and i haven't finished it yet.
As clean as possible, which translate to AOSP
Thank you for the work.

oh that's cool man
BTW off the topic I hope you know there is an easy way to change clock color too but again its with little editing of framework thingy hehe
edit - btw just realised you'll need to change framework cuz only framework is the source for ImageS I guess so and if you don't edit framework how would you get the reboot symbol.. ?? can you give me the link from where you learnt this method? please
yes you are right, i had to change an image, which was in framework res. its ic_jog_dial_unlock.png. it is not used in semc framework. but i had not modify resources, because i used this png's id and factorytest_reboot's id in jars. i downloaded your work, and it's really different from mine. i would not like to explain oneself to you

nice mod.
will give it a try!
bump, the latest release is slow. i can't make it as fast as before. i would like to use 2.0.2.A.0.24 for core.
what do you think?
I thought someone didn't modify framework-res.apk but I guess I read it wrong lol
hey man if you could make a custom zip so we can install the reboot option from xrecovery that would be nice...
i updated first post. let's check it.

i agree, all the themes here right now are pretty much just different colors, nothing this in depth
this one is nice!!!! why Vibrant is so boring?
Just flash to one of the 2.2.1 JS ROMS such as Loki, Teleforce, Sweet Honey 2.5, Juwe's, Atriarc (my personal fav).
Then download the theme from the i9000 forum, open the zip, remove the services.jar, resign the zip and flash thru CWM and viola.

I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am but I don't think you can just open the zip and remove the services.jar? I believe you need to download 7zip or a similar program and do it from there.
If someone can tell me how to attach the zip after I remove the services.jar I will upload it for anyone that wants it. When posting here on XDA zip files can be no bigger than 8.0mb, this zip is 42.6mb. Probably a little smaller once services.jar is removed.

I removed the services.jar but I am not at all familiar with Autosign. I did just download it to check it out but I have no clue of what to do next? I read a little on it and it's way over my head. I was able to take another theme I liked and get running fine on my phone but when it comes to getting these themes back up here on XDA for others I'm not sure how to do it.

run autosign.bat.
Then:
select option 1, type yes, hit enter (if FC thats ok)
select option 2, type yes, hit enter
select option 3, type yest, hit enter
select option 4, type in path of zip file that needs to be signed, hit enter.
When done, then the zip is now signed and can be installed thru CWM
As far as posting theme on here, you need to upload the theme to website like www.multiupload.com. Then once its uploaded paste the link on here
I meant to have it ported to vibrant 2.2 roms like Bionix 1.3.1 or others.
a few days only
hello, I am the creator of the theme. As I stated in the original threat, I will start working at the port theme on 22 march. I hope you will have the first test themes tomorow evening, or on 23 march. I also will need some testers, so if someone want's to enroll, give me a PM.

[Application] AndroidAppsEditor for SONY ICS ROMs

AndroidAppsEditor by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/androidappseditor.html
Decompile, Edit, Recompile, Deodex, Sign, ZipAlign, ...
an Application in a very quick and easy way, only by simple choices.
This is intended for developers and amateurs.
Made for everyone, just test it !
Infos : This might work for every ICS device but I provide the SONY ICS Frameworks only.
I created this app for myself at the beginning in order to easily edit .apk, .jar and .odex files,
because I never liked (and almost never used) the other tools available, prefer doing everything by myself ^^.
Bye !
----------
If you like my work, don't forget to press the :good: Thanks button ! Thanks you ^^
Thanks!!!
Thank you very much for posting this!!
Loved all the customizing apps made by yourself, makes personlizing my phone mush easier!
And even easier for sharing with the community!

For infos, I did edit and recompile the framework-res.apk without any problem,
it works fine on the phone installed through flashable zip.
If any developer has an idea why I just can't replace manually or with AndroidFilesInstaller.sh
this framework-res.apk, though I always did it that way before, please help xD, spent last 2 days on it...

Ok.
I'll work on AndroidAppsEditor again now, will let you know.
I'll probably make an update to add a new feature : Automatically fix the styles missing parents....
I'm not sure if it will work all the time, but it did for the Xperia S PhoneBook.
Would make editing much easier, for both you and me .
I'm glad to say the new version v5 works great,
the whole new "Fix .apk styles.xml" feature
works amazingly good, and should make
everyone happy, since you'll win a lot of time.
I managed to decompile and recompile the Xperia S Phonebook.apk
and run in on my Arc S in less than 2 minutes thanks to this !
Bye !
Updated to 5.1, added two options :
- New option to try fixing a failed Compilation.
- New option to reedit a compiled project without decompilation.
> For step modding and testing !
Makes a lot of time winning .
Online now.
v5.2, little update on the styles.xml fixing feature.
Useful for framework files, just found out xD !
Nice, will try for xperia ice bean x

Nice ^^.
It works great for the Xperia apps,
however I just can't get a working framework-res.apk....
If anyone would have some infos about that.. Tried everything I could..
EDIT : Interesting info, I just deodexed the Settings.apk from Xperia S without any problem in my app, seams this part works great. Yeahi ^^.

[Q] How to change the list on press action or bg in Xperia U devices?

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to this but I wanted to know how I can change the list pressed animation style in Xperia U? I mean the white background glow on pressing and holding any list button in menus or tabs or buttons, for example see the following photo (attachments), how the background of the notification has turn to white (fading).
I thought there might be a. 9.png file for that, but when I started searching for in the drawable folder of framework-res.apk, I wasn't able to find it?
So I wanna know that am I searching wrongly or there is no such file and just a xml code which I'm not able to get my hands on because of lack of my knowledge of decompiling the apks. I tried decompiling it by apktool but it won't budge. Also to edit pngs I am using a simple technique (posted by a xda user, sorry for not recalling your name but thanks) that is to just open or extract the roms through 7zip and then just copy them back to the respective apk file. This seems to be working as I was able to create my own lockscreen. So please help me in finding where I'm going wrong.
Thanks in advanced...
You must decompile the framework-res.apk and then, search in /drawable-hdpi folder the image. Its name is notification-normal-bg.9.png or something like that. Edit it with photoshop, and, when you have all that you want, compile the framework-res.apk and change it in your phone. Do a backup before do anything.

First of all thanks for your advice, but as it turns out the Sony isn't using that file?? And also I just did it with my normal method (described before), so I guess it might be a problem that I'm not decompiling it, but as it turns out I don't know exactly how to. So can you suggest me a Guide or something like that through which I can learn to do it without any problems...?? Because last I time tried it, I got a failed app! Please help, thanks in advance...

Yep, the recompile goes ok. I wanna change the toggle icons and wanna move the icons in the status bar.
And actually ticklefish already help me with that and when i push it nothing happen either, so i don't think it's a prob with win8 cuz before i didn't had that problem, it started this week
The systemUi is from honami i1 rom from aneel, i already install the framework from the rom.
