what your heart tells you to do man JB is working without problems now
eventually we will all have JB on our phone. Even when warranty expires

Just install the leak.

Use the latest cm10.1. The only issues I have are with the Bluetooth and the fact that the flash isn't working in the camera app. Its my daily driver and I just can't go back to ICS.

I am running the stock JB leak release, you can find it in the dev section.
It works without any bugs for me.

have u been having any problems with the gui? i mean when scrolling thru pages it seems to tear off... and my biggest problem is the keyboard seems to lag alot otherwise i love this cm10.1 but it always seems to act weird my keyboard especially

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021 try this thread... i cudnt do it still but i heard its good...

The keyboard seems to be better with the latest update. There is a fair bit of tearing and the home screen sometimes gets bogged down. But a small price to pay.
Also, I've noticed that text messages don't get sent when you're connected to WiFi. Has anyone else noticed this?
At the end of the day, screw Motorola. We got these devices in good faith and they decided to quit their entire india ops. Sounds like a pretty dumb strategy to ignore the worlds second biggest mobile phone market.
But yes. Try the latest update. Fixes keyboard issues. Now for camera and Bluetooth.

I think a new update will come with a solution to the graphic tearing.... its the hw c's problem....

Even the verizon jb version is not bad. It's got no issues at all. Been using it for months now with dtrail 's gsm patch. Only issue I had was with wifi tethering. That too is resolvable using foxfi.

official 4.0.4 rom ?

just a quick question, will there ever be a official 4.0.4 rom pushed to kies or do you think we have stopped at official 4.0.3
ive had a search around and found nothing so dont hate me if this has been said before
cheeers guys
I don’t have a clue!
Obviously we will have the update, weather it be 4.04 or anything newer is anybodies guess
WHY STOP AT 4.0.3 when its far from perfect ok reword it ... it still has bugs so any time soon we'll see newer builds as and when they happen..
I think sammobile announced that samsung is working on 4.0.4 for sgs2.. Maybe they got it from their informant inside samsung

No buddy, it is a more stable version ics. Phonearena said that jellybean (if that is what it'll be called) maybe 4.1 or something like that since it may not be much of a change from ics.

ICS killing development

HI,
i just wanted to share my thoughts on the lack of development that i'm noticing these days. When i bought a XMP, i was seeing a lot of mods and development happening in the XMP forum. New GB Roms/updated ROMS every week. Increasing performance week by week, Then sony released ICS, buggy and slow. All devs soon started raping it, but nothing great happened (apart from kamarush's minicms, which is still not very stable, also has camera recording stuttering). I've seen and used ROM's that came out such as RealICS, NeroICS, ICEHybrom.. all lacking performance, ROM's like real ICS does have issues with XMP (camera flash light not working properly), we also lost a good dev 'bbooff' due to idiotic members demanding like they paid a million $ to him to develop for XMP. The thing is most dev's are not devs, they are just modders. There are flaws in sony's ICS, unless you know how to debug and re-code and fix the actual problem, there is no point in simply putting all the optimization scripts and tweaks in the ROM. Most of the so called devs are doing the above. The only exception is kamarush and expacer, though they also have their limitations. GB development is halted! why?
I'd request the real dev's (kamarush & expacer) to try to fix the issues in sony ICS and the other modders to work on GB versions.
Plz do share your thoughts on my thoughts.
They both are now busy with JB. Maybe its can be really better then ICS. Just give them time and we will see how good is JB on our phones

I too hope JB version to be better than ICS. But i am not sure if they can make all the features work properly, such as Xloud, FM and bravia. Those are sony proprietary stuff, if the ICS version files are compatible, then it'd be great. but i highly doubt so. Anyhow, lets hope for the best.

That's Sony. They bring updates nice and slow. But, they don't drop out their devices. Else, we'll have it the unofficial way

Well actually they drop their devices, like they did with x8 its got only 2.1 official firmware, but since Xperia U is anew device we will get ICS and in nearls future i hope JB. Sony is slow with their updates but they dont like other manufacturers, they did their updates unique and smooth like butter and tottaly different from others and for that they need some time
I remember the x8, I still have 2 of them. Both run bug free 2.3 overclocked and they never give any problems. I would have enjoyed the phone a lot less if it were not for the amazing devs over there, stock 2.1 is very limited and boring. I hope sony dont forget about the U and deny us JB. @dsaklein its nice to see a familiar name around here, x8 was getting a little old.

I hope we will get JB official update, but on the other hand we will get CM 10 with JB and by the time official JB update comes we will have tons of custom firmwares and kernels to choose, so it wouldn't be such a problem.

Head over to your device's section and try getting a custom ROM running.
Did the HTC Inspire evn get official ICS?

flash a custom rom
Flash a custom rom like aokp .
Or if that seems too hard to do,
Use a bloatware remover.
It should be there in your device forum

I believe that must be a custom ROM, you're running. Coz there is no official ICS for Stallion.
And its always better to read the Bugs / Changelog and check the thread completely before flashing any ROM.
And oh hey, mind sharing the link of the ICS ROM you're running? Guess I should try it
Cheers!

Guys, Bad News and Good News
Android 4.2 ain't Key Lime Pie, it's just an upgraded version of Jelly Bean, hence, still Jelly Bean, we won't get any official Rom, I mean come'on how much do you think a 1GHz Processor and 512 MB ram' Phone handle? Even ICS was a struggle.
Good News is, it's an Upgraded Version of Jelly Bean, so CM probably will Re-Base their Rom to 4.2, same thing applied to PA, AOKP.

Have you used ICS on a Ray? It runs perfectly well on mine, the problem is not the processor or Ram but the amount of resource hogging bloatware **** that Sony fill phones with ... Get rid of all the crap and the phone handles ICS just fine, it's annoying to hear this old story about the Ray not being powerful enough to run JB etc, yet somehow the V is? Don't believe it just because Sony tell you it.

So how come galaxy s i9000 gets jb running great aswell and ray not doing So great? They have the same hardware i think no?
Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
Stop asking.
The 2011 smartphones can perfectly handle JB because they handle ICS.
JB is lighter than ICS.
Sony is just lasy to make the drivers for JB
Perhaps Sony want to focus on its 2012 models. But I sastify ICS with some mods
i think the answer is no.. our ray will not get stock 4.1/4.2 ROM
sony will not support xperia 2011 anymore, from now sony will focus upgrade on xperia 2012
but overall sony did great on upgraded than other brand..
BTW, if you want to keep get android upgrade, next time when buy a phone, consider to buy "google nexus" phone ..
