[Q] I want to add Arabic language to my Galaxy S2

Newby to this site and to Android phones.
Have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2, with gingerbread 2.3.3, and would like to add and install arabic language support mainly for Web browsing and SMS.
There is this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1063205 which I found it rather challenging due to some "jargon" and lack of clear instruction of how and where? it seems to be aimed at expert rather than casual memebers like me. tried to contact the originator madmack but system returned error message that am not allowed to .... LOL
Help please.....
Thank you
U could flash the arabic rom (u can make it english and will be arabic enabled) from this thread.......

Thank you all very much, just downloaded the rather large file.
A quick question, I presume I flash it using Odin, I have extracted the .exe file downloaded and it created a folder with the same name, but the folder doesnt seem to have a .tar file to use with odin..... .
How to flash these files with odin? do I just add the whole folder? if so where to bootloader/PDA/phone or CSC....
showing my total ignorance here but hey, thats how one would learn
when the downloaded file is extracted; it should be a .tar file and u could confirm that from right clicking on it and seeing its properties
the file is loaded from the pda section in odin, making sure that the repartition option is not chosen!!!
then start and good luck
the other file on the site is the stock kernel for it, if u find any problems with use after flashing this rom, u could flash the kernel the same way u did with the rom
just simple as that!!
give us the feedback
THANX
All done and my SGS2 now have the arabic language, all seems to be working fine (camera, wifi, surfing, texting, music player...etc) so I did not have to flash the kernl. Keeping the kernil file just in case.
When powering the mobile on and off, the operator's logo disappeared which is an added bonus as I wanted to remove it anyway. powering on slightly slower (few seconds) but nothing major.
Thank you everyone for your help and I hope this thread become a simple "Idiots guide" on how to flash. Casual users of this site find it easy to DIY their handsets.
again, thanks a bunch... and a big thank you to sevoflurane and to Alexandria my all times favourite city whichI visited 4 times so far

glad u managed to flash successfully and safely!! congrats!!
update...
Updating my firmware to 2.3.4 lost me the arabic, installing the above did not work and returned a number of error messages. Is there an Arabic support for 2.3.4?
Thanks
I second that.
Just wait for some good stock ROM. Look for firmwares in intratech thread
In case you guys are still looking for a way to add the Arabic language for your devices, I can confirm that this method worked for me:

Check it out and good luck...

[Q] can somebody tell me, why android need to limit only 10 contacts per sms?

questions as above, why? if i don't want to used hancent or GoSms apps, anyway to break that 10 contacts limit for sending per sms?

hi Bl!GhT,
i don't think that is the real answer
Maby they just like that number )
Do your contacts a favour and don't spam them.
If you ignore that, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113854
thanks, but i was new and unable to post there....can somebody help me to ask them...mine was XWLPG , thanks in advance.
i am using vk rom v5.1.2
Why would you want to post there? The instructions are in the first post.
it is because...i have try both way (root explorer and cwm) also fail, might be not compatible with my ics version?...or the file was too old?
omg...unsuccessful process, i have to install again...i think i might change to omega v15 and give it a try....
i have try omega, vk rom, OlloSII MoNsTeR, also can't send sms more than 10 contacts....tired.

[Q] Yarvik Xenta 97ic (TAB9-200) and contacts app

Hi all,
i am new here in the forum, I would like to learn a bit how the android operating system works and to fully utilize my tablet.
My tablet is upgraded to Android 4.1.1 from oficial website and i can't use contacts because it is not an application for it, in /system/app the only application related to contacts GoogleContactsSyncAdaoter.apk v4.1-392829. Then i can't use mail applications (gmail, standard mail app) because when i try to write a new message it doesn't appear contacts. With other standard smartphones i can synchronize contacts with my google account and use it with mail apps without problems.
You know well the android operating system. How can we fix this problem?
I don't know how contacts app works (internal databases involved, other services involved...) i would like to know about it and i could test with my tablet if you help me.
I think if we find solution to this problem might help other users with this tablet.
On the official site have asked several people about this without getting any response.
Thanks in advance
Contacts.apk working again but on 4.0.4 firmware
we have installed previous firmware version 4.0.4 from yarvik and it we have now contacts.apk again, we had to install AppDrawer to create shortcut for Contacts.apk (it is hidden) and now it works ok for creating, synchronizing and managing contacts correctly.
The problem is that now we have old firmware version.
¿Do you think it could be possible save
Contacts.apk
ContactsProvider.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
from version 4.0.4 upgrade again to version 4.1.1 and install this 3 apk after upgrading?
Do i have to save other *.apk for this to work?
Thanks in advance
Tested other Contacts app and doesn't word
Hi again,
after several hours searching i have access to adb.
tested other Contacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk and received message "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped", all tests are on the following link:
forum.yarvik.com/showthread.php?4447-Contacts-apk-missing
Original Yarvik GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk is version 4.1-392829, size 194,268 bytes.
Which other apk are related to Contacts/People in Android version 4.1.1 for use and synchronize it completely in my tablet?
How could i use Contacts/People service in my tablet?
I think i don't posted my question in appropriate forum, in two days not received help, moderator could move this to the appropiate forum.
thanks in advance!

btc flame tablet info

Hi im new here so thanx for any help in advance
I bought a cheap generic tablet from amazon :
Model Number : BTC
Android Version : 4.4.2
Kernel Version :3.4.0+
build number: full_gs702c_userdebug 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.root.20150105. 112232 release-keys
the problem is that it lets me configure my apn but when i save it there is no apn saved, (does not appear in apn list ) i have factory reset and run some apn apps but it still wont appear after i save it .
so i was thinking it may be a firmware fault ,
i looked around and it takes "Lollipop" . (tablet wont upgrade from settings ) (there is a "Owl" app to upgrade ) keeps saying server busy,
So question is am i able to download the latest Lollipop ( stock as in original untouched ) firmware and upgrade from the built in sd card and if so what Lollipop firmware would be best ,..
thanx again for any info cheers.
ps was also trying to run "Uniflash" but it wont run, dnt know how to post picture , but uniflash crashes after starting up and there is no options displayed just
" connect your smartphone via usb , and dont forget enable usb debug , which i have done .... thanx again
