Youtube stops playing after a while - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I have Xperia Mini with custom ICS rom, and I have this problem on every ICS rom I try:
When I play video on youtube, it just stops after a while, and its showing like its loading, but it wont load, no matter how much I wait it...
Anyone else who had this problem and solved it?
EDIT: This also hapens on an Xperia Mini Pro on my friend, also with custom ICS rom.
PLEASE, no responses like Have you tried this, have you tried that, I WANT someone who knows whats going on to help me.
Thanks

I had exactly the same problem on my mini. I tried using tubegod and it worked for some time then that too stopped. Check this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695249
Finally I went to Sony and tested it on their WiFi and it worked there. So it must be a problem in your ISP.

No, its not that, and it isn't happening just on my phone and only on the WI-FI I have home, it's probably something to do with the custom ICS roms

Do you mean to say that youtube works fine on stock ics? If it is not a problem with your wifi devices, then it must be a problem with the router. Just reset your router to default settings and re-configure it. Also, set the channel of wifi between 1-3.

Weird.... it really was my router... here, have my thanks

Actually wait... it happened again.. tried with channels 1, 2 and 3, still stops, any idea if I should set the frequency to be 20/40MHz or to leave it at 20MHz?

Isn't there any option of auto frequency? Because my router has that and it sends mixed signals.

Screw it, if it happens again I will call my ISP and ask them about it

Apps not downloading on X10 Mini Av1.6 ;O(

Hiya,
My GF just bought the X10 Mini and loves it, I have to say I'm quite impressed. BUT, there seems to be an issue which has upset her and annoyed me. We can't download any apps from the marketplace. Its just says "starting download" and thats as far as it gets ;O(
Anyone else have this prob or not with the X10 Mini or any fixes?
Cheers in advance.
I have experienced the same thing on my X10 mini pro. The solution for me has been to cancel the download and choose to install it once more immediatly. But it is a strange bug.
I used to experience this when my phone was new, but it's a lot better these days.
Have you tried turning the phone off and on again? I know it sounds really cliched, but it can sometimes work. My phone sometimes decides that it doesn't want to charge, and turning it off makes it change its mind.

You can also try go to gtalk and open the app, sometimes it's need to be open and you can't download then you not are logged in @gtalk
I have not experienced this unless my wifi dropped because phone went to sleep.

Just got mine today, great little phone, but this is the only problem I'm getting.
None of the above methods will work.
I'm connected via wi-fi.

Hmm, you have background data enabled correct? I am sure Market does not startup unless you have it enabled. Meanwhile you could try an alternative to the Google Market, got some info on it in my blog here.
Try to disable the wifi and use 3G? Perhaps also check that your SD card is properly connected. Might be worth trying a factory reset too if you still cannot solve this.
I think Iv'e got it
I have been having the same problem this morning although up untill then I hadn't had any problems at all, the only difference was my location, so I moved to a different location and it workedstraight awy.
It might just be a problem with the market rather than the phone. Perhaps people from the same region are suffering?

Try clearing the Dalvik cache. I had the same problem until I cleared it. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560207

Automatic WiFi/3G data connection switching on 2.2 ROMs

While I was running the Stock SE 2.1 .435 release (rooted of course) my X10 was capable of automatically switching between the GSM data connection to any of my configured Wifi networks (at work and at home) without any user interaction.
I have a friend with a Motorola Milestone on 2.1 with this same behaviour.
Every 2.2 ROM I have loaded seems to have a problem with regards to this feature. Basically I have to perform a manual switch but here are two of the behaviours I have noticed.
On FreeX10 the SSID basically becomes disabled. If I am at home and connected to my home network and leave the cell area my 3G network becomes established and everything is fine. Once I get back home within the cell area of my WiFi network the WiFi connection does not become active. Instead I have to go into Wireless Settings and that's when I see it is disabled. Long press the SSID and choosing Connect gets me connected.
On [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] the SSID does not get disabled but rather it continuously fails. Same use case as above except when I go into Wireless Settings I see the SSID "Connecting" and then failing and entering the "Remembered" state.
My friend with the Milestone recently upgraded to 2.2 and will test this scenario to see if it is inherent to 2.2.
My question is, would it be possible to take the 2.1 Wifi component and use that in the 2.2 ROMs?
It would be great this could get fixed, same problem is with the gingerbread roms.
Like u said, it doesn't even help when switching WiFi off/on again using my WiFi widget. U have to manually press connect on your specific WiFi connection.
Pain in the ass!

I have the same problems, tried both roms and ended up sticking with Cyanogen, simply because it was less of a pain re wifi but i still have reconnection problems when leaving my house. The answer is to manually turn off wifi then leave, then reengage wifi manually when i return. A pain but, a small one
Agreed. Toggling the power does not help.
If it is possible to take the WiFi component (for lack of a better word) from another build I strongly suggest considering .435 because it worked phenominally under various conditions.
yea my wifi doesn't seem to work well either with the FreeX10 rom
I assume you already tried Blade Wifi Fix? If not, do so.
The Blade fix was included in the CM ROM I installed. It looks like all it did was power cycle the wifi which as already stated doesn't help.

Try to delete included BladeWifiFix and reboot test again and if still not working install BladeWifiFix new from Market and test again.

i have been running free x10 for 3 months i suppose. it switches fine for me.
there where issues of WIFI NOT CONNECTING , no problems of switching though as u stated. so i installed blade wifi and everything was well.
i suggest what wolf says.

I know what it is intended to do but I was wondering how it was doing it. being a technical person I don't like the shotgun approach because the end results are very hard to interpret if you don't know what you are actually doing
but I digress I have installed it and I will be testing as soon as I get home

hi,
after reading this i though ...
me and wolf include blade wifi on our roms.
for me i don`t have any issue regarding wifi on my rom. i get out of home with wifi connected do a 1 hour trip to my work and when i get there wifi pick signal without any issue.
but......
i don`t check right away, so.
like i said me and wolf we include blade wifi and do some changes regarding build.prop to save some battery. one of the most consumer of battery is the wifi.
on SE roms search for wifi every 15 seconds. on mine i change that to 380 sec and wolf around 200 (i think) so...could this be the cause of ????
i personally don`t believe removing blade will do any difference but...maybe those who had this issues try to change build.prop to 15sec ?
well we might be onto something...after installing Blade I was able to switch but I did not time it...seems to have taken quite some time though. I'll time it next time but I'm sure since it will vary because it looks like it runs a timer and I don't know what the details are.
I wonder if Z made the same changes to build.prop as you guys have. I would be interested in testing without this change.
Also, it would be great to know what Blade actually does. I wonder if it circumvents the changes you made to the intervals in build.prop.
Also, any idea as to whether we can use the WiFi component from the .435 build in these ROMs?
Ren,
Is it possible to go in and change the value in build.prop:
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=
Without reloading the ROM?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Yes.
Through root explorer. Just make sure you check all boxes on permitions and after that reboot.

OK. I've been watching what Blade does and all it seems to do is reinitialize the wifi. Seems overkill so I found this:
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/net/wifi/WifiConfiguration.Status.html
I want to write an app that will monitor configured networks and set their status to Enabled.
The challenge for me is that I've never developed an app before but I have the SDK installed and it recognized my x10 so I'm good to go. Ill try to get as far as I can but I will need some help. Is there anyone interested in offering themselves as a resource if/when I need some help?

WiFi problem in SE LWW with CM9

I'm running on CM 9 on my Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman. For almost a month I haven't had a problem with my Wi-Fi connectivity. But, since the last 2-3 days, I'm having connectivity issues.

[SOLVED][Q]Wifi problems on ics/jb

Hi all,
I've got an xperia mini pro, and if I'm on ics or jb, wifi doesn't work right. It works, so I can connect, but after less than 1 minute, wifi is so slow, that I have to turn off wifi and turn on again. 1 minute working and again same problem.
Do you know if I could to anything to get it better working? Cause it works, but every minute turn off/turn on wifi is very bad. On gingerbread it works wonderfull! So I don't know, if it's related to my device or to my rooter (Speedport W 920V)?
Thx in advance
Mihahn
Edit: Just found that German site, which says, that it's a know problem by sony, but there's no fix yet. So is here any fix for the unstable wifi connection?
Are you on stock Rom?

Nobody around here has got a similar problem?
Everytime I use a custom rom/kernel higher than gingerbread wifi isn't working correctly. On sony ics stock rom, too.
Could it be related to my speedport w920v? Or because I dropped my phone?
It connects I can use it and after 30 seconds or 2 actions/clicks in playstore it's not really reacting anymore and I have to turn off wifi and turn on again. It works for 30 secs and same problem again.
Can somebody help me please?

Same problem with me too, until i was using Real ICS r5.1, it was working great, but now, as i'm using Real ICS r6 beta v3, the wifi automatically disconnects n reconnects after a time interval,
One thing for sure that this is not a problem with every ics or jb rom, but yes, for few roms, definitely its a problem.

Slow mobile data with 4.2.2

If anyone can help I would appreciate it sooooo much. Ever since I went to 4.2.2 my mobile data speeds have gone to **** when I'm using the browser. I get a 10-15 second delay in loading a web page. When I use my WiFi it seems to be fine. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. It's not Rom specific. I've had this issue for about two months. ROM doesn't seem to matter as I've tried stock, super stock, the old Viper, NOS GPE, and Viper Sense 5 along with most of the kernels out there. I've RUU-ed probably 8 times with no luck.
The "Adobe Flash" fix didn't work for me, but I do use Titanium Backup. Maybe the problem is there somewhere?

The adobe flash fix didn't work for me, either. I found a fix in another sub-forum for a different phone. It recommended installing adfree and then selecting the "revert" option in the app. That fixed the problem for me completely. Hope that helps anyone else with this problem.

Could you post a link to the thread you were talking about where this solution came up? I'd like to read through it. Thanks!
I am also having this problem, ViperDNA, 4.1.1. WiFi is fine, but mobile data is unusable. If I toggle mobile data off then back on, it works ok for a bit, then goes back to ****. Just recently started happening. I also have a similar issue with my G2.
I couldn't find it again, it was really hard to find the first time. But I just tried it again and the app is working. Just install it, tell it to boot normally, give it root permission, tell it to skip after it does its host file check, then press the revert button. When that is done, uninstall adfree and reboot.
That should do it.

Got it working, but it didn't seem to fix the problem. I'm still having the exact same issue. Outside of this thread, I can't find anyone else talking about this problem.

I'm on the most current Verizon radio with Verizon service. Most current OTA hboot. Moonshine s-off. Recently RUU-ed.
I use Dolphin and Opera Mini. Strangely, Opera Mini doesn't have this issue, but Dolphin does. However, browsers aren't the only problem. I have the same thing happen with nearly every data-using app. Twitter, Instagram, A Online Radio, TuneIn Radio, as well as Dolphin for sure seem to have this issue. Opera is okay, and Google Play Store and Facebook seem to be mostly unaffected.
It's unexplainable. Everything works instantly and fine on WiFi, but 4G, 3G, and 1X all have this 10-20 second delay before they start actually connecting. After this lag, they all download quite well. It's just the initial connection that has a problem. And again, I've searched everywhere and haven't read anyone experiencing this.

You don't need to keep adfree installed, just use it to reset the host file or something. Maybe someone who knows the actual mechanism will chime in and explain why it helps.
