[VRTheme] Blue Medley for SHOStock3 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

CBB77 Blue Medley v1
Using VillianTheme (VRTheme) System
Works on all versions of SHOStock 3
Been a while in the making, but I have finally pulled together a theme I am happy with. It's a blend of a few different themes on XDA with a few mods of my own. (Thus the name "Medley") Below are the items themed:
ClockPackage
JobManager
MusicPlayer
SecContacts
SecEmail
SecPhone
SecSettings
SecMms
SystemUI
Framework-res
SamsungCamera (Icon change only)
SecLauncher2 (Icon change only)
Additionally I have included my favorite original S2 bootup animation with sound. However kudos to Shoman on the latest bootanimation on version 2.5.5. Thus I have included 2 versions of this theme, one with the boot animation included and one without.
Enjoy!

Oh sweet! Gotta try this Holly gift!

Telephone Screeen
The telephone screen is not fully compatible with 2.5.9. Launch telephone and open up call settings then hit back button and the screen doesn't refresh properly. Thanks for the theme. It's the best of the VR version. I don't know if there are others experiencing the same thing I do.

Thanks for feedback. I haven't upgraded to 2.5.9 yet so I can't speak to that. I did test what you mentioned on 2.5.6 and it doesn't have the problem you mentioned. I'll see if I can upgrade and fix this weekend.
thanks

I just upgraded to 2.5.9 and re-applied the theme. Unfortunately I did not experience the issue you described. If possible can you take a screenshot or outline again the steps if you are still experiencing this. Would like to correct if there is an issue.
Thanks

Loved it.. Keep it up..:thumbup:

I tried the theme, and it looked awesome. I had some problems with reading the text in the battery indicator. My live wallpaper was Force Closing, and I don't know what might be wrong with it. Other than these, it was really beautiful. I like the boot animation so much.
I just have one quick question. Is it possible to have the boot animation separately?

The problem with the battery text is due to having the "Display Battery percentage" option set in the display settings page. Turn that off. The issue is the battery icons I used already have the percentage indicator as part of it. Thus this option is actually overlaying the percentage on top of what is already there making it difficult to read, since it's not a perfect overlay. Turn it off an you'll be able to clearly read it.
Here is the link to the boot animation i used. I've also include the link to the boot sound file.

Is there a way we can retain some of the customizations? And use the rest of your theme.

Absolutely. You simply need to extract my zip and remove any of the apks that you don't want. Then re-zip the file. Just make sure when you re-zip you use no compression. Use 7-zip and use the store option when re-zipping the file.

Dude this is a beautiful theme!!! Awesome work I am very impressed.
You got anything else? Any apps? You should blue theme a Gmail to go with this.

Sorry guys, not having much luck themeing Gmail. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the theme to apply. Not sure what's different as it works for every other app. Thus have hit a brick wall. Still researching but may be a while.

Is there a way to change the generic contact icons from male to female and vice versa? Not a big deal really it's just i feel bad that some of my friends are the wrong sex lol

REQUIREMENTS
CM6.1 for the HTC Legend
CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip courtesy of Sympnotic - Download provided below.
LauncherPro (Recommended) OR Gingerbread Launcher
*** NOTE: Gingerbread Launcher 3D Free does not work on the Legend.
Icons (if using LauncherPro) courtesy of Benny879 @ the LauncherPro Forum - Download provided below.
Gingerbread Keyboard by Fabolous @ Droid Forums
LCDDensity
Livewallpaper from Gingerbread
*** NO METAMORPH REQUIRED!
STEPS
*** DO A BACKUP FIRST!!!
Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip
Select STOCK_Black theme in CM settings. (User interface --> Tweak Extras)
Flash the keyboard and select Android Keyboard in text input.
Open up LCDDensity and set to 240 then restart.
Open up LCDDensity again, set to 160 (default), and restart again (this is to fix the unusually small size of the new keyboard).
Use the icons to give the LauncherPro dock the Gingerbread look. DO NOT FLASH THE ICON ZIP FILE just extract it and customize through the LauncherPro menu. Alternatively, you can use the Gingerbread Launcher in the Market, but it does not have support for a 3D app drawer.
Set wallpaper to "Nexus" live wallpaper.
BUGS
Rebooting the phone will cause the keyboard to return to its small state again. You'll have to repeat steps 4 & 5 to correct it.
After flashing the theme from Sympnotic, the CM theme options may appear as a blank menu with one checked radio next to it. Check it again, leave the menu, go back, and STOCK_Black should be there.
After flashing CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip I got stuck at the Cyanogenmod boot screen. I had to power it down then power it back up for it to properly boot. Everything was fine after.
"Add Call" button appears lower than the "End" and "Dialpad" buttons (See Post #5). Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip to fix. Thanks to Sympnotic.
MISSING FEATURES
New live wallpaper as seen on the Nexus S. Fake Nexus S live wallpaper added!
Official Nexus S live wallpaper.
Orange colour burst when reaching the end of a menu.
Sleep animation.

I'm just trying to learn this stuff too. Right now I'm relying on Sympnotic for the theme and I'm not sure if there are any plans for a transparent version. Maybe in the future if I can figure it out myself.

No and no. I didn't create the required files mentioned in the first post. All I did was flash/install the required items, made sure everything worked, then posted exactly how I did it. I'm still in the process of learning about how to properly use the SDK, so I've been relying on more advanced users' work.
That doesn't mean that it isn't zipaligned or signed, I just don't know since I didn't make it. Why? Are you experiencing slower performance?

Hi, I did the theme, and no, i'm not signing or zipaligning it, I'm too lazy to do that as I'm always replacing things at the last moment before flashing and testing it, but I'm moving files from .zip to .zip to prevent issues concerning signing.
Properly recompiled (w/o errors) framework-res.apk using apktool (supposedly fake signed) gives me bootloops.
I'll grab the fake-sign java thing just in case and will find some infos about it.

[THEME] MinimalBlur 0.3 BETA *UPDATED 5/29*

INSTALL THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
This theme has been confirmed working on both stock 1.8.3 deodexed and gingerblur 3.5. It will shortly be update to handle gingerblur 4 (It may already, but I don't know what got changed yet).
Since most of the files were taken from Gingerblur, the name MinimalBlur will stay to pay respects to where most of the content is coming from.
REMOVE OLD VERSION BEFORE CONTINUING
I have written an uninstaller (Restore_0.3.zip), but it reverts to the last known files before 0.3 was installed. In order for it to work correctly, those need to be the stock files.
If you have MinimalBlur v0.1 or v0.2 installed, then flash the Ginger-3.5_MinimalBlur_removal.zip or Stock-1.8.3_MinimalBlur_removal.zip and reboot to go back to stock. Then boot back into recovery and flash the version of 0.3 you want.
First, the credits, because I really just stole things from people and used the digital equivalent of duct tape and spray paint to make my own version.

TO DO:
Modify the boot screen
Theme more applications
Remove "glow" around some of the icons / other icon tweaks
Color variations
MODIFICATIONS BEYOND COLOR / IMAGE CHANGES:
Removed clock from notification bar
Backs up any modified files
Changed DroidSans font to Quicksand
Changed clock font to CPMONO_V07_Light
Changed lockscreen layout
Decompiled LauncherPro, changed color of dock icon badge to white, and recompiled
You can download the backup files for most of the widgets, the font file, and the icons + wallpapers I am using in the extras-minimalblur-0.3.zip included in this post.
CHANGELOG:
v0.3
Created a backup / removal system
Removed H+ icon until I get it working, for now it will just say 3G
Fixed button text
Themed incoming calls
Set LauncherPro to draw a solid #242424 background for bubbles, as the transparency was causing problems
Other minor bugfixes
v0.2
Changed to add-on update.zip instead of the entire GingerBlur framework
Fixed power menu bug
Added 1% battery mod
For now I am only releasing the black version, it is by far the most popular and my summer courses are a little more accelerated than I expected. Once all of the major changes are done I will release red and blue again, and then possibly others.

Yes, as long as there is enough interest in it. It shouldn't be that difficult to make lots of variations for it.

The only other thing I could think of is bringing the H or H+ up when its accessing the net. for me it just what I use as a reference to make sure data is actually being transferred. but If that was by design, then no worries.

love the theme! just wondering, why did you decide to remove the 1% battery mod?
Very nice... I second the additional colors request (I like blue ).
What widgets are you using with this and did you theme them or are they just transparent?
All of the Widgets I am using are listed under "other used / needed" section in the first post. They are only themed with what the widget provides available to you by default (under the options menu's) tonight I am going to try and pack up as many backups of those apps as I can, so it can be as simple as "restore backup" for many of them.

Yea I'll try getting around to it. I need to fix two issues with red and blue monkey first.
Nice theme Jivy good job on all the ports to Unnamed ROM. On the Airplane mode icon are you holding out to see if he updates to use the Vol/Vibe mode? Also will the dialer and calc expand if I change the dpi to 200?

No his theme used sound instead of airplane mode. I'm out of town until Sunday and didn't have time to build the airplane icon, but the sgs2 needed more themes so figured I'd overlook it until Sunday when I got back.
Doesn't support anything other than stock dpi at this moment.
Updated toggle menu support for UnNamed Rom. Also fixed airplane issue
Great job on adding the scrollable toggles into the theme, love that option. Installed and the only issue I am having is with contacts. Not sure yet if it is a dpi issue (I am putting it back to 240 and let you know if any change). But the contacts bar at the top is crashing everytime I try to use it. I am getting a message that I have attached and wondering if you or anyone else is seeing this too?

UnNamed version 1.03...I tried a changing the DPI back to 240 and still the same thing. I think I am going to re-flash things again and see if it corrects the issue. I will update with results/solution that I used or came up with.
A re-flash seems to have cleaned up any garbage I might have had with doing things last night (late and half asleep). Probably all my doing when I was working on it and not being "Fully" coherent while working on the phone last night. Note to all...A good nights sleep and a fresh start the next day will probably prevent most mistakes made and a number of erroneous posts later...Sorry Jivy for mucking up the thread.

btw - the uninstall file is called 'redmonkey'. Not sure if its just a naming error or if you accidentally linked the wrong uninstall zip.
just so you know.

ok, thanks for that info.
Just flashed this theme and really like it. Were you planning on porting over the other colored themes as well? Also, as I have no idea how to make them, I was wondering how hard it would be to make a blue and gold theme (University of Michigan colors)? Just curious. Thanks for all of your work!!!

I also noticed that after the flash of the BM Theme it put the Red Monkey image files onto the SD Card directory. You can delete...or keep, the choice is up to you.
BTW is anyone else seeing the green progress bars on scanning or downloading and a half bar of Blue/Grey in some instances?

Im reinstalling win 7 this weekend to hopefully get rid of these PS crashes so I can tweak things in the themes So if you notice anything post it and I will get them all worked out this weekend
Great theme. I just updated to the 2.3.5 leak though. Requesting port
i777 stock 2.3.5 kj2
Entropy512 Doom
14 toggle mod
Onepointsixingit
One more request @Jivy...When you are re-tooling or adjusting things in the theme can you update the Unknown callers in the log and in call pictures to something less Buffy the Vampire and National Geo-graphics Burka chick and maybe more BlueMonkey Androidish??? PLEEEEA$E! Also maybe something in the notifications semi-transparent window would be nice...Thx! (See Attached).

Big thanks and credits to scar45 for creating and letting me use some of his PCB images
Credits to Doktaphex for helping me fix the updater script and the Launcher2 Page indicator images.
Works here. Looks better, IMHO.
One difference when I did it was that I didn't lose my wallpaper, (using a live wallpaper), and it didn't change until I shut down and restarted the tab.

First thanks OP for posting this
Second I see a major drawback to me. We don't have a recovery to fix this if anything decides to be stupid and **** up. To much of a risk to me no matter how safe it is.
Thanks again. I gave you a click

That's why you back up the original apk. You could adb into the device and rename the files and reboot your device if you have to.

Well yeah I knew the back up was important for reverting and such but I didn't know you could use adb if the Prime was in a boot loop from the system UI not working properly... hmmm Shweet. Thanks for the quick response

That's actually what's happened in the ICS root implementation...the TFP is in a boot loop, but adb still communicates.
nice thanks going to do this tonight
now if you could just make the color of the click customizable or get rid of the pesky notification for an sd card
I was also going to add a circle battery mod
as well but just as i thought it did not have the accurate battery (1% increments) on the system bar.

Just flashed this to beans v2 and it looks incredible.
One question however, when you flash beans ROM with the aroma installer you can pick to have a center clock.
The theme reverts the clock back to the right. If there any way to flash the theme but keep whatever settings where already done in the ROM install??
Since I was on beans v2 anyway, I tried dirty flashing v3 over the top of it but just as I figured that put everything back to blue again.
At that point, I restored a nandroid I made of v2 and the red theme (I prefer v2 to v3) and it looks really killer.
Just found another odd bug I guess.
I love the pop-up browser and use it all the time. I have a home screen shortcut to it because when you open it that way you can write on it anywhere with the s-pen and it will automatically convert it to text for something like a google search.
Now, when I click the shortcut it tells me that app is not installed??
The pop-up browser does still work just fine when I click on an email link, it just refuses to open from the home sceen shortcut.
Just downloaded this and before I install I have a couple of questions. First I am on beans 3 and do not see multiwindow control. Does it come with beans rom or installed after the fact? And second, say I don't want red anymore, how do I go back? Reflash beans3 again? Thanks for all the hard work.
looks great! :good: by any chance could you make a white one?

I'm not very familiar with aroma, so I'm not sure if that is possible. I can edit the theme so it is centered though. The popup brower is my bad, I just used the one from stock deodex, which is probably why its not launching from the homescreen. Ill have that fixed in a few hours.

installed after the fact. If you want to go back yes you will need to reinstall or restore a backup. I suggest backing up before flashing anyway in case something goes wrong.

With the clock centered and the pop-up browser fixed, this would be absolutely perfect.
I will definitely send a donation your way as soon as I get straightened away from the whole Christmas thing
Thanks again for all your hard work, I really really appreciate it.
when you say uninstall multiwindow control, do you mean just uninstall the app or reverse the framework mod from the flashable zip. Because uninstalling the app is easy. The rest... not so much.
This looks really sweet by the way.
Thanks for your hard work, it looks really nice:good:

If you have have the standalone app multiwindow control installed just uninstall it. No need to reverse the whole mod.

I absolutely love the theme, but two things. The clock being centered kinda declutters the status bar for me but I know this has already been addressed. Plus the battery thing... I don't like seeing my percentage, kinda makes me feel like the battery is draining. But thanks for all the hard work you put into this.
