[Q] why is porting sense harder than for example xperia - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
This question has been bugging me for a while as I am not a developer I just like trying and learning.
Why is it so much harder to port the sense ui/ launcher than for example the xperia.
I love samsung for its hardware and functionality but I miss sense ui from my previous phones.
If anyone could help me understand I would be very greatful.

I think I found most the problem if im right the launcher is embedded into the framework and is also closed source

Correct it. It isn't really just a launcher, it is embedded throughout the whole system. It isn't really of an overlay, it is like and inlay, part of everything.

Mate It's garbage, i'm fairly sure its not usable on the SXS i read somewhere as it needs samsung specific libs/framework etc but seriously wait for jellybean's proper implementation to come in one form or another.

it's definitely not like iphone siri.
Not only not help at all, but also waste more time by yelling again and again.
Just for get about it.

Text edit copy cut paste... But undo/redo..?

On galaxy phone you can, like on iPhone, copy cut and paste text. However, undo and two is badly missing. So I'm searching for an add-on or app that would fix this. So you know any?

I second this! Sorry I can't help, but this seems to be a useful feature that is missing
Needless to say i searched before posting. Since a long time...

This is not funny... Having pinch to zoom in gmail took like 4 years, undo/redo will take more apparently..?

I seriously cannot believe there are not more people missing that!

It's not meant to be funny. What he means is you're an ungrateful prat.
You ask a question, people give you useful answers & you effectively throw those answers back in their faces. Classy :-/
No wonder some people (me included) tend to give lazy people (like you) the 'search' answer rather than take the time to explain the obvious/easily found or do all the work for you. Ain't worth it.

Timescape widget and app

Please give me a way to install timescape widget on my purelook s3 rom. I hv searched many forums. But non of it helped me. I really love that app and widget. Thanks in advance

You need to own a Sony.
He he nice joke. Anyway i saw that widget and app in i9100 forum. So I curious find something for my s3
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It's not a joke. It's Sony Proprietary. Maybe you can ask whoever ported it to 9000 to port to 9300, but it does require a developer to port it, none-the-less.
Thanks mate. Ill ask them
