[Q] Flashing JB ROM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys..
Samsung has recently started rolling out the JB 4.2.1 update for SGSII I9100 (international version)..
I am from India and my country is still due to get the update..
is it safe to Flash a ROM of a different country on my phone?

Yes, u can flash a diff country ROM as long as its meant for SGSII I9100 ma8
AFAIK the Roll outs by samsung for SGSII I9100 are JB 4.1.2 not 4.2.1,correct me if i am wrong

Yes , it should be an 'Unbranded' one thats all

Stock JB firmwares (4.1.2)
PS- Some times u have to change the CSC if u want future OTA updates from ur Region when on a diff region firmware
Also see to it that in Future u wont create 'Multiple' threads for each of ur issue, instead Edit the same thread/Title/Post.

no,u do not have to be rooted in order to flash a stock rom. You have to be rooted only when u r lookin to flash a custom rom

Am flashing the Spain ROM..does it have English Language??
What abt tht CSC changing app?
Does tht need any root or I just install tht after flashing ROM n use they way its said?

Yes, use Odin as instructed and you should do fine.
The spanish version and any other versions would definitely have English language.
The CSC Changer app requires root permissions to work. Just follow the instructions, that's all.

I flashed the Spanish ROM a few days back..
N the OS seems to eat my battery quickly than the ICS..
Shld i wait till my phone adapts to the new OS? or reflash?

I have few other doubts regarding the ROM
1.Am using the spain ROM..
Wat is the diff between this and the ROM soon to be released for my country??
2.since its the Spain rom how do i change thw CSC back to my native country??

That thread is about the differences between releases.
We got battery threads all over the forums.
Take a couple of hours and read what other users experienced.
Battery drain is always settings related, If we'd had a magic app that would stop battery drain you'd know about it.

That's Kazakhstan unbranded ROM. How do I know that? I went to the same place you went.
Notice that if the ROM listed has got "( )" right next to it, what's inside is the ROM's carrier brand (E.G Vodafone).
You'll get future updates yes, via OTA or kies; it depends.
