MHL-Any way of keeping data connection while dual screening? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried this with different combinations of siyah/dorimanx/phillz kernel and various sammy 4.1.2. Data connection turns itself off, and as far as I can tell is not available within 30 seconds of the picture appearing on my tv. Anybody know why out of interest? Or how I can stop it happening?

Defective device?

Ok, so is anyone else having any of these problems:
- When using camera, screen turns off and on when it tries to focus.
- Receiving SMS issues until reboot.
- Issues going from 4G to 3G, or 3G to or from WiFi, or 4G to WiFi.
- Screen responsiveness issues.
- Random rebooting.
- GPS issues.
Most problems are resolved after a reboot but then come back progressively as I use the phone. I'm rebooting 3-4 times per day. I thought this was Android, not BlackBerry...
I'm not rooted and have already factory reset like 2 or 3 times. My Dinc didn't even have this many problems. :/

Also, when listening to music for a certain amount of time, it just stops and then phone becomes unresponsive till reboot. Not sure if that is a PowerAMP issue or not.

Try flashing an update.zip rom of your device using recovery mode. Might need root. Depends on devices though. Mg N1 works without rooting.

Where would I be able to get that? And how do I boot into recovery? My Incredible was rooted and before the last update, it was power and volume down. Then after the update, it changed to power and volume up.
Also, I did reboot my phone and my camera still doesn't work. I'm going to try to clear the data from the application manager
UPDATE: Clearing data from camera didn't have an effect

I guess you should Google for the steps to go into recovery for Incredible... not familiar with it.
For the rom go search your build number on XDA. You can use custom ones too I guess.
But sometimes it goes 'signature verification failed. Action aborted'. Ask senior members for that. I cannot solve it.

What kind of screen responsiveness issues are you having? Mine seems to "slow" down a lot after a day and a half of uptime, a reboot fixes it but it's annoying to have to reboot that often just because the touch input slows down so much I can't use the phone.

Samsung ICS - Wifi problem whats up

Have really annoying issue. Wifi used to work all the time now most places it does not pick up anything, it scans but cant find anything, tried wifi on / off, reboot, clearing the ram but nothing. Software or hardware issue requiring an RMA?

Why doesn't Wifi ever turn off even with correct policy?

From my experiences wifi keeps my phone awake and data transfers like crazy. I set wifi to never stay on when my phone sleeps but this hardly ever works. Most times it stays on!
What's up with this? It works sometimes but what do I have to do to make it shut wifi off when I turn the screen off?

Install DataEasyPro if nothing else works.
AFAIK WiFi only turns off if the connection has been idle for a certain amount of time. If your phone keeps transferring data, WiFi won't shut off. Check your running programs and your sync settings for anything, that could be using your network connection.
The stock ELKC WiFi policy works fine. CM and ROMs based on it do not

[Q] up data arrow stuck on?

I have been having annoying issues with the up data arrow getting stuck on.
This can happen at least once a day, in various locations
When this happens, i have no data connectivity, and the only way to restore data is to toggle mobile networks on and off, and power cycle the device in some cases have been used to resolve the problem
this happens on many different ROMS, and different firmware versions as well.
I have run the RUUs several times, etc... nothing seems to be working to fix this problem.
This is on 4G as well.
Anyone else having this issue or could shed some light on the matter?
Thanks

Multiple ROMs, different versions? Sounds like a hardware problem. Sucks bro

Anyone having T-mobile connection issues?

My cellular Internet randomly stops responding in the browser throughout the day even it says I'm connected to LTE. I have to turn airplane mode on/off to get it working again. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or is it just me.

Me too, it will sometimes say, "Phone is not registered." I came over to T-Mo to save some dollars, so I was unable to determine if the issue is T-Mo's network or the S5. Especially true since I've always had HTC phones. My issue does only seem to happen in stores and where I work, so I assumed it to be T-Mo...
I also have a problem with the Wifi not remembering my password. Strangely this only seems to happen when I check the "Smart Network Switch", which is SUPPOSED to make it smoother...
It happens once in a while. Toggling Airplane Mode on and off fixes it.
Happens to me too. I don't think it's the phone, as I was having the same issue with the S4. Had to toggle airplane mode.

Same here, it happened very very occasionally with the S4, but it seems like it's at least once a day if not more with the S5. I had a separate microphone issue on my first phone so this is my second device that's had this problem. The airplane mode toggle works, and also turning wifi on and off works for me. The problem is when I don't realize it's happened and I miss a call which is problematic for obvious reasons. I've missed several calls in the last few days which I find unacceptable, if this doesn't get sorted out I'm going to have to switch to another phone soon...

same happened to me had to return the phone through buyers remorse program seems it's an hardware issue a simple restart or reset of Internet via airplane mode will fix it but annoying
I'm also having the issue. Not a major issue as it doesn't happen too often.
I notice I get it when I am connected to wifi. Doesn't seem to happen as often when wifi toggled off.
Same here I had the s4 it just recently like a month ago I though it was my s4 but when I got the s5 same thing so its nost likely a t mobile
