[Q] Flash eXperience v2 information requested - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, lurking the forum about Xperia sola I noticed that exist this rom (experience v2) that I could install on my xperia sola ics (.54) NOT rooted and with locked BL...
So, I would some piece of information about it. I can flash this rom without unlocking the bootloader and without have rooted my ics .54?and then, if I would return to my original ICS .54 I can do it without unlocking the BL (I ask this just because my xperia sola is already in warranty and I don't wanna lose it)? Thanks in advance...

you can do it without unlocking bootloader but you need root for that and you can return to stock without unlocking

Since you will be rooting your phone and you will be able to install CWM recovery,it wouldnt hurt you to back up everything!
You will be fully covered if something goes wrong or if you decide that you prefer your stock Sony rom, with the whole phone configuration as it is right now!
Better root your phone and take a back up first!
Then, you can try ANYTHING you want!

Yes, i believe it's possible with the latest version of flashtool (+ update).
The safest way though, is to revert to stock (do a backup of your current rom&setup of course) then perform the unlock.

Alright alright.
But,if i backup my current rom (which is for LB) then unlock my BL and then restore my backup of my LB Rom,i will have a Rom for LB on my phone with ULBL.

Sony Live with Walkman

I've have a GingerBread Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman and i downgraded the firmware to the version: 4.0.2.A.58
I installed the recovery (using RecoverX) and i've root access.
Booloader is locked.
What do i have to do to be able to install custom roms? (ICS if possible)
Do i just need to download a custom rom and flash through cwm? Or ive to unlock the bootloader install kernel?
Can anyone please point a direction?
Thanks in advance

first you have to root, then you gotta install custom recovery. you have to unlock the bootloader to install a custom kernel but there are quite a few custom roms optimized for the stock kernel/locked bootloader
first, download the doomlords one click root kit, then root, then download se extreme tweaks and select install cwm for 2011 xperia and you'll be on your way! if you need detailed help, pm me!

do you want ics roms or gb roms?
i'm not that into gb roms so i wouldnt know, but the hasa roms are okay.
for ics roms, there is minicmsandwich, real ics and real ics lite. i'm using real ics lite. there are more roms but those are my favorite ics roms.
for ics roms, however, you have to root ics. that's pretty simple.
unpack the rar i attached, run 01-local-prop, follow the instructions, once that's done, flash ics via flashtool but uncheck "wipe data" and that's it. after that's done and you boot into ics, run the 02-push-root-files, and install cwm again via se extreme tweaks. then just flash a custom rom via cwm. easy as that
What ICS rom do you suggest?

I currently use real ics lite r3 so I suggest that. If you decide you don't like that one, you can always try mini cm sandwich

You'll need to unlock the bootloader. There are two methods - the test point method (if you don't want to lose DRM keys, TrackID and such Sony stuff) or the official method. Both these methods are available in the FAQ by Someguyfromhell.
Once you do unlock the bootloader, you need to flash either a kernel that's provided in the ROM or another kernel that supports the desired ROM.

There are quite a few ROMs out there which include:
ExMIUI
Real ICS r5.2
CyanogenMod ROMs
ParanoidAndroid
Try 'em all out, see which one works for you the best!

Revert neo to GB (locked bootloader)

Hi everyone
A friend of mine owns an xperia neo and it became totally unusable since the ics update back in august. Now he finally gave in and asked me to help him to install gb firmware (or stock ics if there's any stable and smooth aosp roms) on his phone. I did a bit of research here (quite hard actually due to all the variants ...) and all what I've found needed an unlocked bootloader which is impossible for his phone. I'm not familiar with sony's phones so I don't really know if anything can be done with a locked bootloader. Any kind of help is welcome. Thanks.

[Q] Root[Locked Bootloader]Xperia Neo V with Stock ROM 4.02.A.0.62

Hi,
I am new in rooting android. Let me explain you all my issues in detail as I've been searching for long but didn't got any info regarding my case.
Scene:::
I never rooted my Xperia neo v.
I updated to Official ICS latest firmware. My neo was running fine for about 4 to 5 months (except it was laggy).
Recently, When I turned on the bluetooth , it got stuck in bootloop . So, searched and from the great developers help in this forum, I got the solution to Falsh my neo v with stock rom . I did and now I've 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Now,My questions are:::
Q1. Can I root my Neo V without unlocking the bootloader ?
Q2. I tried the Fastboot method but Android SDK Manager doesn't run on my Windows 8 64bit, tried to fix it too but it didn't fix. So any alternate solution to this method?
Q3. Also, When I check via *#*#7378423#*#*, it says 'Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes'.Does it mean I've an Unloackedbootloader?
And it might sound a lil stupid, But Please can I have the detail rooting solution according to my above questions?
Thanks all,
Akash
First of all there's no connection in rooting and bootloader.
Rooting is simply giving super user capabilities or allowing root acess, like admin rights in windows.which stock android os don't provide for security reasons.
If your bootloader is locked you can't install other kernels accept the default sony provided kernels, but you can root, install other custom roms like ihave zellycream v2.meanwhile in unlocked bootloader you can flash with custom kernel of your choice.
The message ur getting means you have a locked bootloader, which can b unlocked.to unlocking there are several methods..you can get by searching the forum.
About me I have a locked bootloader. And on zellycream v2 rom.

Afaik seus might brick your phone as your bootloader is unlocked.. Best is to use flashtool and flash .587 firmware and sell it bck..

yes you can relock the boot loader, but you don't have to, you can reinstall the stock os without relocking the boot, no you don't have to relock to use stock os
