[Q] Download mode not recognised bin 7 (64 bit) - drivers are installed - no recovery - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I've had this problem for a couple of days now and while Google is turning up plenty of threads and solutions nothing seems to be working.
Yesterday I tried to encrypt my SGSII and but it failed and would no longer boot. So I flashed a no ROM via recovery (there was a notice about corrupted memory) and restarted. Since then I've only been able to access the phones download mode. Most posts with this kind of problem suggest that Odin is required. Windows will not recognize my phone in while in download mode, therefore I can't use Odin. Windows will, however, recognize it as a Samsung SGSII in the device manager if I let the phone boot up and hang at the SGSII logo screen.
The things I've tried so far
Installing Kies
ONLY installing samsung usb drivers
Cleaning the usb port
Rebooting phone and pc several times
Tried different cables
Tried a different PC
Additional info: Last ROM I was running was one of the cyanogen 10 nighties.
Sorry everyone, I know this seems to be a pretty common problem but I'm just out of ideas to try.
So, do I need to buy a new phone? Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Cheers

[Q] Samsung Charge usb issue, please help!

Posted this on the general discussion section but have had no replies, hopefully someone here can help?
Hi everyone, first, this is my first post, new to the forums, at least as a registered user. I have a problem with my phone. I know most of you are wondering why I have not just read the other posts on the forums, but I have. I have attempted every solution to the problem posted previously.
Background: Phone: Samsung charge.
I was being impatient and did not want to wait for the gingerbread update form Verizon. I flashed the leaked gingerbread 2.3.4 onto my phone using odin. Everything went great. I was able to use my phone with no problems except shortened battery life, but nothing major. About a month ago the battery life was impossible to maintain and there were some software bugs, like clicks during calls, startup taking forever, around 2 minutes on average!, and random restarts that never happened before. I decided to look up some fixes and found that verizon and samsung had released GB 2.3.6 for the charge. I got excited and decided I wanted to get that, but I could not via OTA. I read some forum posts and they mentioned attempting a factory reset on the phone then trying OTA update. I went ahead with factory reset and everything went fine. My startup time is around 25 seconds now and no random clicks or gliches, but still not on 2.3.6, which was the whole point. I then decided to just flash the stock 2.3.6 rom to the phone.
Problem: When I plug my phone in to multiple computers it will charge but not connect to the computer. This means on my Mac it does not show as an external drive, which it has in the past. On my windows 7 machine it says that drivers were installed but could not be used (I can get the exact quote if needed.) I attempted to go into device manager and solve problem that way but it shows my phone as "unknown device". I have tried to enter download mode when hooked up to windows computers and no connection is found.
Possible solutions attempted and their outcomes:
1. As stated, I attempted the method shown in a thread on droid forums for installing the samsung drivers. I have attempted multiple times to install the drivers on my windows machine and the device remains "unknown".
2. I have attempted multiple cables on multiple computers, both mac and windows 7. No change.
3. I have installed adb and attempted to locate devices using adb devices command on mac. No devices found.
4. I have attempted all methods with both usb debugging checked and unchecked.
5. I have tried every possible usb port I have.
Ideas/questions I have had that I have no idea are possible or how to fix!
Would a factory reset take away the ability to connect to a computer from my phone. So, is there a piece of software in the build I have that controls the connection between the computer and the phone, an identifier of sorts, which is now missing, now that I have reset the leaked ROM.
Is there a way to flash a new ROM without connecting to a computer, via the sd card, and what is that? I have read some things in other posts but am too much of a n00b to understand most of them when using sdcards.
ANY help will be greatly appreciated. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! I have been at this for at least 6 hours, sifting through forums, searching google, attempting fixes that others have stated worked for them, only to fail every time. Thank you all.
have you try on a different pc?
maybe on your PC there is some problem with the drivers.
Moreover to connect via
adb u must enable Debug mode on your device in the application menu.
To flash kernel or other directly from your sd you can use the clockwordmode, but to install it you must before
install it and i fear you must use your cable connection

I have tried multiple PCs and a mac, even windows on bootcamp. I have installed drivers on every one, even uninstalled and reinstalled on one. One PC, my laptop was a fresh windows install (it was a linux box but I needed windows to use Odin). I was in debug mode and not in debug mode when attempting adb. Thanks for the suggestions though. As I said, I have tried numerous things and am completely stuck! so frustrating!
"I attempted to go into device manager and solve problem that way but it shows my phone as "unknown device"
Exactly there... you can try to force device to install a different driver.
Double click the unknown device then driver then update driver then find software in your computer then choose manually from a list of device drivers in your computer then show all devices you should see "android adb interface" or something related to google or android.
Try it... i hope this can help you.

[Q] S2 (Semi)bricked? Stuck at boot, No recognition by odin...

Hey guys,
A friend of mine was having some trouble with his S2 which was running Omega rom v16.2 (phone would say it was charging with no cabe in it etc), so i told him he should try updating to Omega v23 Final and see if that fixed the problems.
However, after installing Omega v23 Final, he was stuck at the bootscreen, i told him it the first boot could take a while but it was stuck at bootscreen for a couple of hours before he gave up.
He tried everything, he wiped everything in recovery (system, cache, dalvik etc) but the problem persist.
So i figured i would flash the stock android rom via odin since nothing was working,
But the problem is that windows does not recognise the phone, neither does odin. (he had this in the past on old rom, it would recognise for some time then it wouldnt and so on)
it tries to install but fails every time, i tried installing several different drivers ( kies, and different stand alone driver packs) but i could not get it to work.
So, does anyone happen to know what is wrong?
Help is appreciated!
edit: odin does not say anything, windows says the usb device could not be installed
Tried several usb cables and ports, without succes
I think Debug Options wasn't enabled. What does Odin say?
Edit:Your USB is bad! If it says it's charging w/o a cable,it means bad USB...Try to lift the tongue(The metal part inside the USB port)with a toothpick.
And you could also try another usb cable as well as another usb port.

[Q] SGS2 can't connect to PC

I know that many people have issue with connecting SGS2 to PC, and i also know that there are plenty of different solutions on internet, but i wouldn't be writing here if i haven't tried literally almost every possible solution out there. I spent 2 days trying to fix this, but still no result.
PC doesn't recognize that my phone is connected, and on the rare occasions when it does - it just shows me an error with drivers - "Windows can't recognize device" or something like that. Of course i tried numerous times reinstalling drivers, Kies, i tried to connect on 3 different PCs, i bought a new cable today - still nothing (but when other phone is connected with the same cable, its recognized immediately.)
I'm running a custom ROM - XWLSW NeatROM Lite v4.8 (JB 4.1.2), but I flashed this rom several months ago and i didn't have a problem with connection until last month. I also tried several other ROMs, but nothing helped.
I tried to dial *#7284#, then change USB to Modem and then back to PDA, didn't help - the same with *#9090# and setting it to Log via Uart. And of course, USB debugging is off. I'm really desperate, the phone is working fine in any other way, but this is a huge complication for me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also sorry for my english, I'm Slovak.
Hmm, could be a problem with the USB port in the phone. I had the same symptoms and turns out the USB port was damaged so i got it replaced (i has warranty)
Also have you tried if ODin recognizes the phone? Go into Download mode and open Odin. If you see yellow (or blue) box with writing "com:" something than you're good. Otherwise it's the first alternative
I tried Odin, still nothing. Well, I hope it's not a problem with phone USB port - i have a warranty, but I bought it on Cyprus.
Is there any other solution?
I know this.It's a Sammy ROM bug.I had it too on stock 4.0.3.Since 4.2.2 I don't have it.
Well, yesterday I tried SentinelROM v4.75-CM10.1, which has 4.2.2 FW, and still the same problem

[Q] I9300 won't boot, has no recovery mode and isn't getting recognized by Windows

Hi guys, I need some help with my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
A couple weeks ago my phone turned off by itself and never turned on completely again. If I turn it on, it stays on the very first boot screen forever (the white text saying Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, like this one (https://cdn-images.xda-developers.com/direct/1/1/5/2/1/9/8/I9300.bootlogo.jpg).
I've removed the SIM card and the MicroSD card with no effects whatsoever, and I've also left the device turned on for hours but it always stays on the same screen.
I cannot enter recovery mode (it just shows the boot screen mentioned above) but I can enter download mode. At download mode, I get this info:
ODIN MODE
Product name: GT-I9300
Custom binary download: No
Current binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Oficial
As you can see, I have never flashed a custom rom (or rooted or even unlocked the bootloader). This is what intrigues me the most, since everybody I've seen with the same problem had trouble during or after a flash.
My last OS version was 4.3.1 and it was received OTA months ago.
In the past few months, my device rebooted out of nowhere, even when I was not using it. Occasionally, it had the stuck power button, which caused it to reboot on a loop, but I always solved it by nudging the power button a little. I don't know if these two previous problems might have caused the problem I'm facing now, but they're not showing up anymore.
Anyway, I've tried to flash the newest official rom (NK1 - ZTO) via Odin but I always get a NAND Write error.
I've tried changing USB ports, USB cable and computers; tried Odin 3.04, 3.07 and 3.09; tried Samsung USB drivers v1.5.45 and 1.5.49 but nothing of the above made any difference.
Today things started getting worse, though. In the past, Windows would always recognize the device on at least one specific USB port; Odin would also recognize the device and then I would get the NAND Write error. Now, Windows will not recognize the device no matter the cable, USB port or driver version. I only get a unknown device error and Odin won't recognize anything connected.
I tested all my setup with a working Galaxy S3 I9300 and it got recognized every single time, no matter the USB port, the cable or the computer.
Considering that another device is getting recognized by different computers, I suppose that the problem lies in my Galaxy S3.
So, can anyone offer me any kind of advice or point me in any direction on how I can try to fix my phone? Is my phone physically dying and no software solution will unbrick it?
Your power button issue has corrupted/damaged the nand memory. Try the dead boot recovery thread in general forum but unless you have warranty you might be better off with a new phone.
I was afraid of that.
I checked the post you mentioned but it seems I'd have to buy tools and hardware more expensive than the phone itself, so I'd rather buy a new smartphone.
Thanks for the help!

My android phone won't connect to my pc, it only charges

Okay so I've ruled out a couple of the culprits and I still struggle to connect my phone
The Cable,I know this because I've tried the same cable on a different phone and it work perfectly
The MTP drivers,I know this because I've installed this more than twice and restarted both device more than I can remember also every single driver I have installed gives me code 10 error and doesn't work after restart.
all of this happened after I tried to flash twrp on my device and when I pressed flash on the SPflash app it didn't flinch so I restart my phone, and lo and behold it starts to transfer files from the twrp .img file and after that my phone was still connected but nothing changed twrp wasn't there, but my phone was still connected and I when I progressed through the page on how to flash there was the drivers for it MTK drivers after I installed them nothing was working, so I uninstalled the phones drivers, exactly after that my phone wouldn't connect again, like I said I tried every thing, that I could do.
All I wanted to do is to root that old phone and give it a new life but no something has to go wrong and I tried going to the manufacturer's website for the drivers but no dice, I tried posting on the manufacturer's forum and still nothing they haven't even replied to my post about it being publicly available, so I hope that someone out there can help me diagnose ans fix this problem.
I'm on android 8
its a blackview bv8000 pro
