Samsung Galaxy SCH-i500 how to bypass "Login with google account" screen? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since phone has no SIM card slot, I can not use this phone here to make call or texting. However I would like to use this phone to browse internet ( its wifi ) and read few pdfs or alike on it.
But I cant get pass this screen
I can get into recovery and make Factory reset /Wipe but even with that option seems like wont clear the google account for some reason? ( guess it should?)
pic related
I CANT get it to download mode for some reason? ( no idea so far why ? )
So how would i get rid of that lock screen or bypass it or clear that google account from the phone?

Re: Samsung Galaxy SCH-i500 how to bypass "Login with google account" screen?
Generally when you would come to the activation screen you would tap each if the 4 corners of the screen,, in a counter clockwise pattern,, don't remember exactly but probably start at right top or right bottom corner,,, probably have to go through pattern 2-3 times,,, then it will bypass that screen.
Other solution,,, sign on with your Google screen name and password,,, if no account,,, register on your pc 1st then phone next...
.

Well I managed to get into phone, by doing the following take like bunch of tries before I get the grip of it but after I got in once and phone relocked itself, after I got second time and phone decided to turn itself off and finally the third time when I was able do remove google account / do factory reset from the phone itself , I was finally of that pattern lock annoyance and now even got Download Mode back. For anyone interested here is what i did to get pass that login screen:
1. Completely power off and power on your Galaxy-S phone.
2. Right after you pass the Galaxy-S and just before the Verizon Wireless logo video ends, immediately tap on the home button extremely fast and repeatedly (at least 4-5 times per second). If the Emergency Call button pops up, click that every now and then (3-5 times) but keep tapping on the home button. During this process your phone may flash the password screen or keypad screen just a few times and your phone will seem to be lagging due to the tapping.
3. Keep tapping until you see your Android home buttons stay steady at the bottom. Voila, you’re in your phone! If the emergency keypad constantly shows up or if it shows the Google account screen constantly, you have failed. The success rate can be around 15-50% so keep trying until it works. (You may want to grab a young phone-savvy guy or girl to do it if your fingers are too slow)
4. Find and run the Settings App and go to Accounts & Sync.
5. Under Manage Accounts, remove all accounts except your Google account.
6. Press your power button off and on and enter your correct Google account information.
7. It will ask for a new security pattern. Enter it twice and you are done!
This solution worked for me. If it does for you, please leave a comment with your carrier and phone model to let others know that it worked!

Not verizons phone here like I said, but worked just fine.

Now that you can get into download mode - I suggest you look at "GeeWiz Media v4.3". It's been custom built from Jellybean v4.2 for precisely what you're doing (no telephony or 3G data services - WiFi only).

Thanks for the suggestions mates will check it out.

[Q] Android Lock Screen on Boot only?

Anyone who used to have a Windows Mobile phone will probably know what I'm talking about here:
I'd like my phone to boot up to the Android Lock screen:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But then only use the regular puzzle unlock screen after that.
Basically, if my phone is misplaced/stolen and is then consequently restarted for whatever reason, whoever has it is presented with the Android Lock screen and nothing else. But I don't want to go through the hassle of tracing my lock pattern every time the screen turns off, which is all I can seem to get it to do
So you want it to come up to the lock screen that needs a pattern or key before unlocking on boot, but have a lock screen with no pattern or key at other times? I think you get either one or the other, though I could be wrong about that.
Yeah, that's what I'm shooting for.
The purpose of the code lock screen is to protect your phone from malicious use after it being lost/stolen/etc.
The purpose of the puzzle/glass lock screen is merely to protect the user from accidentally using the phone in their pocket, butt dialing, etc.
Ironically, it was a standard feature on WinMo phones so I guess I just assumed it would be available with Android.
Alternatively, if I could just make the Android Lock Screen launch at boot, that would also do, but I can't seem to find a way to add it to startup...
Um, just FYI, when the pattern lock is enabled, it will always display the pattern entry screen at boot, so you shouldn't have to add it anywhere. Aside from that I don't think there's a way to do what you want, at least not without some kind of ugly hack, or maybe third party utility, but then again there could be some simple trick I'm not aware of.
No offense, but what you want honestly kind of defeats the purpose of having the lock screen, because if you lose the phone, whoever finds it will have full.access to everything, as long as it never gets restarted. I'm surpised that Windows Mobile lets you get away with that, as that makes for an almost useless security feature. I've gotten used to having to enter my pattern every time, but what I would really like is to use a PIN code instead, a feature that doesn't appear until we get Froyo. I had that on KaosFroyo on my Eris, and I miss it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
there are many very practical uses for this feature
This is a good feature to have, it useful in cases such as when you're sleeping, that way if someone sneaks up to try to go through your phone they'll be greeted with the lock screen when it turns on. Or for me, we have a no phone policy at school, so in the even that it was taken from me i would like to be able to quickly shut it down thus locking it when they try to go through it later, which they always do, not much else goes on at my school so they got nothing better to do. i got to much stuff on there to have them snooping though it. I'd rather be able to just hand it over with it locked than have to refuse giving it to them and deal with all the crap that comes with that.
I need this feature too.

[Q] How can I Activate Android (after a restore) w/o Registering the phone?

Hi,
I tried searching, but it's such an odd question that it is hard to find a word combo that results in efficient, but relevant search results lol
What I'm looking to do: use the Galaxy S "Fascinate" as a PMP/DAP and not activate it as a phone at all, basically just a Galaxy S Player. I specifically decided on this since it uses the Wolfson DAC and fit my budget!
The problem: the person I purchased the phone from had (understandably) wiped it clean before sending it. When powered on it goes right to the "Press 'Send' to activate your phone" which only allows me access to "EMERGENCY CALL" / "SEND" options.
The question: How can I boot the phone into Airplane Mode, or bypass the Activation screen (either permanently or temporarily so I can then turn on Airplane), so I can then use it as a PMP?
If you need any info, please ask, I'll provide all I can with what I have! I do have a USB cable for it at least! If that'll help any...
I got a Fascinate 2 weeks ago for the same purpose (works great, I might add). When I got it it booted into safe mode the first time (no clue on that, it was new to me). I put my google credentials in then. The next time (I think) it came up with the emergency call thing. What I can't remember is if it said anything about activating. I just went through, set things up, played for a day, then rooted & rommed it.
Where Verizon doesn't do sim's I think you will be safe to keep going after the activation screen. It will spin it's wheels for 30 seconds then keep going. It won't be on their network since you didn't call Verizon, so oh well. I keep it in airplane mode with wifi toggled on & no shortcuts to the dialer anywere.
I am using Skankwhich's CM9 rom. Using Titanium I have frozen a bunch of stuff with no ill effects, including: setup wizard, talk, voice search, various live wallpapers, apollo, com.android.smspush, email, exchange services, sms/mms pref...(it goes off the screen), pico tts, rom manager, sound recorder, voice dialer, vpn dialogs. There is more that can be frozen. I haven't finished messing with it.
Do not freeze [voicemail] phone, or sms/mms/apn phone/messaging storage, or contacts. You might not need them but bad stuff happens.
Good luck & enjpy!

I'll definitely have to go ahead and give that a go. I figured it was actually calling the network heh
EDIT: Well it had started calling after I got signal, so I canceled it quick lol But then I remembered you had powered off and back on (first I found out holding power brings up an option menu which included Airplane Mode), so I did that. Powered back on and HORRAH! It booted right into the main Android screen ^_^
Thanks again, no telling how long I would've sat on that screen lol
No problem. Have a fascinating time!

[Q] Screen lock timeout and force lock with button

I would like to know if there is a way to force user authentication (password, or fingerprint, etc) by pressing a button.
What i mean is that on a blackberry you can press the 'K' key to lock the screen and force the user to have to put in the password to unlock the phone. With Android it seems like the only option is to set it to lock immediately b/c if it is set to anything other than that, hitting the power button will just turn off the screen but not Lock it until that setting reaches the time you set for the lock to occur.
I assume it is not built in and i will need to download an app.
Thanks
Uhh.. Set it to lock immediately?

That is not what I'm asking! I would like the ability to keep the screen off without it locking right away but have the ability to lock with the power button. There are apps out there but it does not appear there is an option to do this natively.
Oh... But why, I'm curious.
Very simple, i don't want to have to keep scanning my fingerprint when my phone is being charged on wireless charger after the screen times out. It is very convenient to lock the phone with a simple press of a button like blackberry. If you treat it like a business phone you will understand, but I'm coming from a blackberry so it is a very useful feature for me.

Enable the developer options by mashing the build number field in about device, then in dev options check the box to keep screen awake while charging.

That is not the issue. Plus why would I want the screen on all the time. The problem is that the feature exists. However for what ever reason ATT disabled the option and lumped it together with turn off screen immediately. If i can figure out which CSC will turn this on it would be great but I don't know if it is a CSC option

I gave you a solution based on what you said you wanted: " i don't want to have to keep scanning my fingerprint when my phone is being charged on wireless charger after the screen times out."
Im sorry if its not exactly what you were looking for, but it IS a solution.
I think the two things you want are mutually exclusive. The only way to have what you need is use smart unlock. Otherwise, the phone either locks or it doesn't.

I never stated I want the screen on all the time. I simply want the option to lock at will using the power button. I appreciate the suggestion but it is not what I asked for and I'm familiar with the development options.
Still would be nice if there is a way to turn this on via a CSC option. still digging

Not exactly, this feature exists, however it is disabled on ATT phones. Looking for a way to enable this via CSC but it may not be possible.

V30 - Suppress navigation during a telephone conversation

When I am traveling with Google Maps enabled, my phone is connected to a bluetooth speakerphone - and if someone calls me - instead of a map, I see who is calling, and then during the conversation, the phone goes blank instead of pointing the road further.
Does anyone know how to remedy this problem? Once I passed the motorway exit and had to make up for over 50 km ...
Can not the information about the caller appear only as a notification and the phone will continue to navigate?

If you wanted to download the Google Phone APK (there are a few different modified versions posted on XDA) you can set that dialer to appear as a bubble notification and disable the stock LG dialer, which should keep it from taking over your screen.
I understand this isnt a solution for fixing the LG dialer, but its still a solution overall so I figured I would reply. Not sure how to get the LG one to only show as a notification but i think its possible. Have you tried going into the LG Dialer Application Settings and Remove or Enable its "Draw Over Other Apps" permissions ? You may just need to give it access (or take it away, depending on which its already set to) in order to keep it from taking over the screen.

I did as you suggested and turned off the ability to draw on other applications for the "call service".
Unfortunately, it does not give anything, because the problem is somewhere else.
In the moment when navigation works and someone calls me - a notification window pops up - and that's OK.

But when I press the "answer" the screen switches completely to the telephone conversation - where every hand approximation to the proximity sensor (accidentally - when you try back to navigation while you driving the car ) will blank the screen, and "always display on" will not work - and the screen will go blank - because the screensaver started working.
Is it impossible to do so that after receiving the call - selected applications will still be displayed and the conversation will be in the background? - So that you do not need to eject the taskbar and manually switch to the navigation, which is dangerous while driving!
Now I'm understanding. I had thought you were trying to avoid the focus switching while the device was ringing.
I think there may be an easy fix for you though. See attached photo. Do you have PIP set to "Yes"?

Sony Xperia X - Issue with unknown problem - Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Hello,
I am new to the forums, so apologies if I break any rules and/or make mistakes.
EDIT: (I did try to search for this issue, but I don't know what it is, thus, unable to see other posts with the same issue, apologies once again)
I have a issue with my Sony Xperia X (f5121), its been updated to Android 8 couple years back, but there has been an issue since, its bugged me, but have never sought to find out or even ask until now.
I've added three pictures, one to show my phone details, second to show the home screen, and third picture is the actual issue I am faced with.
Before I delve into this, I will point out any common details with this handset:
Brand/Model/Memory = Sony Xperia F5121 (32GB)
Sim Lock = No - (UNLOCKED via code) - Previously locked to EE U.K
Country = U.K
Bootloader unlockable = No - can not be unlocked on this handset sadly
Android Version = 8.0
Okay, now the issue, there is a small portion of the screen (top part) that becomes fuzzy with lines, this happens before the lock screen appears, in order for me to unlock the handset via a pin:
(PHONE SCREEN OFF > PRESS POWER BUTTON > FUZZY SCREEN APPEARS (2-5 seconds delay) > LOCK SCREEN APPEARS > SWIPE TO ENTER PIN > HOME SCREEN ACCESS)
I am unsure what it is, but its been like this for about three years. This unknown issue happens and lasts anywhere between or about 2-5 seconds max, but the phone still functions perfectly well otherwise.
I've run the phone system tests, under developer mode, and everything reports back okay.
Therefore, I know this is not a screen issue, as it looks to be software related, perhaps the OS??
I don't install or own many apps, I have booted into safe mode, and the problem still persists, again none of the apps even uninstalled are causing this problem, I've reset the phone but again no avail, both soft and hard resets attempted.
Hence, if anyone has any insight as to what this is and if I should be worried about it, then please do let me know, as that would be super, the phone has been looked after really well since I got it on release from EE U.K in 2016. its just this issue thats now starting to make me wander what it is, and whether anyone else has faced such an issue with this particular handset, please do kindly let me know, bearing in mind this phone can not be modded in any way (Not looking for a fix, but any insight into this problem), seeing as the bootloader even if set to unlocked, will not permit me to actually load any modded ROMS etc onto it ( I googled this back in the past, so not at all upset as the current OS allows me to get to do what I do daily ;-))
Thank you
Best Regards,
TJ
