The Droid Incredible X was a rumored name for the DNA, way before it got announced, it's not a real phone. :good:

Explains everything, thanks. Makes me wonder about that parts seller tho...

We all referred to the DNA as the incredible x for quite a while. But apparently not everyone was as excited as I was about posting reviews like The DIX feels great in my hands, but the DIX feels even more at home on the side of my face. I think I will be getting DIX for me and my girlfriend both.

Rezound vs Vivid

I have a Vivid, a friend of mine on Verizon has a Droid Bionic. Been having some issues with it and obviously it's a Motorola so it's locked down. He asked if I'd recommend the rezound. From what I've seen the rezound doesn't have ics yet and I imagine it'll be the same terrible sense infested 3.6 pos that's on my phone. My real question is, does s-off require a wire trick and are there any cm builds for it? Based on my phone imo I can't recommend because development wise its kind of a dead end.

Same s-off wire trick, same pos sense 3.6 tho you can get sense 4 roms. No CM yet... Almost there but not yet.
That's an advantage over the vivid definitely as sense 4 isn't possible due to ril restrictions imposed by at&t. Still sounds just like the vivid though as not being the most developer friendly

Yeah nowhere near the development of the nexus or anything but it's not too too bad
The Rezound certainly has been a ruff road to follow development wise. It is an awesome device with stellar specs. The one downfall is the device is still waiting on full AOSP support. Apparently though one of our developers did have a break through the other night with getting LTE data working. So hopefully it won't be very long yet as he is just basically working out one final bug before he releases his work to the community.
One thing is for sure, the Rezound has awesome radio support, so signal wise its pretty much the best out there. Atleast in my opinion.

Yeah he's having an issue with his lte radio on his bionic, apparently a common issue. He tried to swap for a nexus but they wouldn't let him however they said he could have rezound. Think its better than a bionic?

Me personally yeah but some dudes are going to come in here and talk about development and that the camera and the screen is superb.
:cyclops:
Cool I sent him a link to this thread. Definetly sounds like the Rezound isn't as locked down as my vivid.
So I doubt my friend would be willing to do the wire trick, as I haven't done it on my Vivid, however I know on the Vivid you can get by fine with s-on, you just gotta flash boot.img through fastboot before you flash a rom in recovery. Same ordeal pretty much? I'm guessing so, internally our phones our identical aside from the radios and the rezound being clocked 300mhs faster. They are both HTC sensations at their core lol

The rezound is a 720p super lCD, the bionic screen IMO is pretty meh. My vivid is only a qhd super LCD and it owns his bionic so I can't imagine any bionic owner talking smack about the rezounds screen!
HTC really has the nicest screens these days. Samsung used to but super amoled is showing its age imo

Not even in the same league. He needs to make the swap before they change their mind!
And the wire trick, not as bad as it sounds. I must admit my hands were shaking while I was doing it and it must have taken my about 15 tries before I got the timing right. lol

Yeah I've left my vivid s on mainly because the screw with a sticker that says void. Honestly for the Vivid its not necessary unless you haven't gotten an ota yet, but it does make flashing more convenient as I pretty much have to get on my PC to flash roms.

Tell him to get it man. Like it was said before, the rezound is way above league then the bionic. Both the Rez and Nexus have their strong points, overall most people agree that the rezounds strong point is hardware, and the nexus is software. Though ill tell you that Newts Sense 4 is amazing, and I have been using it since his original release, it only keeps getting better.
And if chad can pull off a lock on 4g, with Aosp, the rezound will only be arguably the best phone on Verizon.

[Q] Early adopter woes, do you think that . . .

6 months from now it will be like the one x and the initial Razr launch? HTC (moto in razrs case) will see the reviews and the complaints such as battery life and no SD by the masses and release a HTC DNA + with a larger battery and expandable SD? This is completely hypothetical but it has me on the edge, and that edge isn't the bleeding edge otherwise I would have got this yesterday! What is your two cents on this? Possible or am I just being a worrisome buyer?

Hello guys I want your help and your opinion I have a DNA which I am going to sell because of broken digitizer and lack of a good service here in Europe..so hopefully I can get either another DNA or the one...I am a fan of black and red so I believe my DNA is more beautiful than one in some points but the thing is if its going to have that support??what will you do if you had that choices??

I love my DNA but in your situation, I'd take the One without hesitation. Although our support is good (to me) the One will get wayyyy more support due to the widespread release and availability. Personally, I'd do it just for those two b*tchin-azz speakers
I have the Droid DNA and played with the One side by side at the announcement a couple weeks ago. The One has alittle more weight to it. The design of the phone is incredible though. The dual front speakers, etc. And you know they will support the One and delay on the other devices as usual. If you trying to get on VZW though I dont think its coming for them. Right now Tmob, Sprint and ATT.
Its the same phone. Depends on what you like to look at.
After the htc one honeymoon period its just a DNA with metal body.

If you're referring to the new HTC One, if i'm not mistaken about its name, then it would probably be the better choice to pick that because it's 'slightly' better. Not to mention global and will probably give you a little more support.
Although if you had to pay more or wait / do anything special for it. DNA would be my choice, they're both so great that it doesn't really make a difference anymore. Storage could be an issue with some people, but not in my case.
There is only ONE answer
Sent from the HOXL dimension of S-OFF
Go for the HTC One, it will get more ROM support for a longer time, has improved in every aspect over the DNA, and is HTC's only flagship for 2013, or so they say. The DNA may not go beyond sense 5, while the One will surely go beyond

The HTC ONE is a better phone in almost all aspects, aside from a .3 inch smaller screen (which is preference anyways). I don't see a reason to get the DNA over the ONE unless you needed Verizon's network or got a DNA for cheap.

So does that just mean that it isn't going to have the "DROID" branding? I assume that HTC and Samsung wouldn't be very happy if Verizon was going to ditch all other android devices.
So you could have a DNA2, just not a "DROID" DNA2. Right?

I still have hope for a US Butterfly S. HTC would be an idiot of a company not to release it to a US market. The question is, will it come to Verizon? The DNA wasn't much of a success on Verizon (but the J Butterfly was over in Japan was), so they might aim for a GSM carrier. OR it may come to sprint as the HTC Evo Butterfly.
Also, I kind of understand Verizon's decision to make the Droid line Motorola-only. The non-Moto Droids have never done well. Read: Droid Charge, and (dare I say it) DNA. The Moto Droids have almost always been top-selling devices. Like the original Droid and its sequels, The RAZR line, specifically the original Droid RAZR Maxx, and the Mini/Maxx/Ultra will likely follow that path.
BTW: I'm stuck with my DNA (and i'm perfectly fine with that) for the next year and a half, so absolutely none of this will affect me until my contract ends in Jan 2015. I personally couldn't care less what happens with the whole Butterfly S/DNA 2 situation, but I understand some of you like to replace your device more frequently (which is perfectly fine) so I'm just adding my $0.02 to anyone who may be interested.

Who cares, the new phones don't have much wow factor to make me think the DNA is missing something or is being left behind. And looking at the development, the DNA has a good number of roms and kernels so I don't feel like it is under developed.
The DNA will be running strong for at least three years.
What I don't understand is... We have a 5 Inch, 1080P, Quad Core Android cell phone.. Nobody seems to care? We do!! But it's always about the HTC One, whatever Motorola is coming out with.. and Nokia Windows 8 phones..the next Nexus.. What is Samsung doing?? We have an absolute monster phone that I love yet there was almost ZERO hype behind it.. launched, then .. "Hey, I'm still here, I'm free now" .... Completely agree with you. I firmly believe that the Droid DNA/J Butterfly/DLX is the second most innovative device of the modern mobile technology world. Second only to the Ubuntu Edge. I think the mistake was making this beast a Verizon exclusive. If they had endorsed the DNA the way they did with the One, or how Samsung has done since the Galaxy S2, they could easily blow the SGS4 and Xperia Z out of the water. Don't get me wrong, the One, S4 and XPZ are all great devices, but the DNA could easily rank right up there with them if HTC had really tried. And that's not even mentioning the Butterfly S. Bringing it to the states and endorsing it on all major carriers could set HTC for eternity. It takes the overall greatness of our DNAs and gives it all the things we love about the One (like boomsound). It's pretty much the ultimate smartphone IMO. HTC needs to play smart in the future, or they'll crash and burn. Hopefully the One's success will teach them this.

its upto you which one you like, I would personally prefer HTC one, but again there are several pros & cons of each, before buying a HTC just get one thing straight, this company has a bad reputation when it comes to software updates, HTC always stop providing support to their handsets before expected, for eg. HTC one s was recently ditched, many others back in history were treated just same way, ...
one more thing, I was in a mobile store the other day checking several devices, I found neither of S4 or One as attractive as they are presented over internet, there was only handset which caught my eye-HTC butterfly, real piece of beauty, & upcoming Butterfly S looks even more deadly, so I would suggest you to go to store yourself & check them personally rather than buying online...
