CM10.1 kernel with undervolt and overclock? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yank.Lu isn't perfect, it misses many governors. Perseus doesn't support AOSP, Siyah doesn't get updated.
What kernel to use?

If you want an uptaded kernel (update 8) you can use temasek's ROM with his kernel . It is very fast and reliable ROM .

I use cm10.1

im on temaseks cm10.1 and my battery is very bad, temaseks kernel doesnt change anything.

this is not a place for questions

Check the new release and play with stweaks. His new release is amazing.

Moved to Q&A

bump
anyway to overclock/undervolt cpu/gpu?

temasek, as posted

Temasek
I am using temasek rom v74 (CM 10.1) with his kernel with stweaks support and boeffla sound app, and have amazing battery life. The developer is also really helpful providing us with custom profiles for our battery tweaks. You should at least try it out.

[Q] Bootloop with perseus kernel [SOLVED]

Hi guys,
I am newbie, my S3 i9300 is using temasek 10.1 rom and his amazing lastest kernel. About batterylife saving, I am trying to find out the ASV version of my S3 to get right value for stweak app by flashing perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip as manual but I faced the bootloop, my S3 could not started. I have tried the ways (only flash perseus kernel (36.3) or flash perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip) but it was not booted. I do not know how to solve this.
I could not post my question in Temasek's thread because i am newbie. Is there someone else like me and any help for me, please!
I hope Temasek can see my question.
Thanks a lot!

TL;DR: before flashing aside from known issues in the second post.
This isn't an AOSP kernel. I won't work with CM and AOSP derivatives.
DOESN'T WORK ON SAMSUNG JELLYBEAN 4.2.1 ROMS.

I have read this but till do not know why, I do know that temasek's rom is an CM derivative. Perseus kernel is not AOSP kernel. So could you guys teach me what ROM (AOKP rom but not CM) I have to flash to be compatible with perseus kernel? i am confused
Sorry for my BAD.

All Samsung (or Sammy) derivatives that means all Rom with XX... in its name, MC3, etc. And 4.1.x only. See thread's titles it's written there.

You open my mind! I am too stupid to think that Sammy ROM derivatives is AOSP, My BAD.
Even I do not really understand about AOSP ROM because of this words " The name is often co-opted for custom ROMs that are very close to the original AOSP, from What's the difference between an AOSP ROM and a stock ROM?"
But as you teach me, I will chose a Sammy ROM derivatives without the AOSP note in ROM.
Iam downloading a [ROM][MC3][JKAY] Purelook HD v5.0 I SGS 4 + Xperia Z ROM. Hope it works.
I will try to improve my self step by step.
Thank you! :highfive:

There are 2 main kind of roms - based on samsung sources and based on aosp sources (cyanogenmod). They're not compatible with each other, that means kernels, mods, themes etc.
Most AOSP Roms have 4.2.2 Android while Sammy have 4.1.2.

any kernel for 4.2.2 resurrection remix?

after moving from wanamlite to resurrection remix 4.2.2
my battery life is pretty poor due to the kernel change (massive undervolting in previous kernel)
is there any kernel that allows undervolting for this firmware?

It's a leak. Meaning no custom kernel will be made until they (Samsung) release the official sources.
he said hes moving from wanam to resurrection remix so yes there are plenty of kernels just look for a cm 10.1 based kernel and install that i normally use taemsek kernel for any cm based rom it allows you to undervolt and all the jazz

CWM from Dorimanx didn't worked for me too, flash CWM from http://mirror21.downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS2/recovery/CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.zip and after that flash new Slim (BTW there is 25/12 version right now).
I tried to install Apolo beta2 (OMNI version) but I can't change any settings so I switched back to GustavoS
EDIT #1
After flashing latest SlimSaber I'm using SlimKernel (included) - STweaks don't work, but Trickster Mod have enought options for me at the moment

If you read the thread of the dorimanx kernel then you would know that you can't install a kitkat rom from the dorimanx recovery. Therefore you need to flash a kitkat compatible recovery before you want to flash a kitkat rom.
I don't want to be a ****, but if you don't know what you're doing you need to ask yourself if you want this. If you do something wrong, you can brick your phone.
thank you for help, i really appreciate it

Best I9100 rom + kernel (stable)

There is no 'best' rom or best 'kernel'. Every rom and kernel are good in their own ways. However, I can recommend using slimsaber rom by Fusionjack and dorimanx kernel 10.44 v008 by cybernetus. You can try cm11 saber mod too as these combination have great battery life (and stability and features too).
I'm currently running Slimkat, latest official build alongside with Apolo Kernel and I have no issues so far.

Best kernel for RR N

Which is the best kernel for RR N can anybody tell me? *
It all depends on your preference and use case.
1. Agni kernel
Cutting edge stuff with lots of updates
2. Radon kernel
Super stable and smooth with lots of features
3. ElementalX
Super stable with extra wake gestures
4.Infected kernel
I personally prefer Radon or Agni
For me Radon with per app profiles. Have tried pretty much all the kernels yet always end back at the Radon. Quick charge undervolt also

That's a tough one. So many good roms. I would say Speedy and stable: Umangs LineageOS. For an all-rounder try Aex-Lite mod with Radon (what I'm using) or a kernel of your liking. Lots of features and also fast. I've not properly tested Pure Nexusrom by Demon but heard it's good (doesn't support Exfat though)
