No, you need root to write to it, but not to read from it.
You do need root to replace the effect tick

Yeah!
That's what I've said! In brief!
To replace the file (write) we need root access.

Got no idea then.
Good luck with that.
Or I suppose I could extract the file used in the 1 click root tool... Since no one can seem to find a script alone

DN3 volume increase 4.4

Just a quick default gain conf I adjusted. The others weren't working so I adjusted it myself and it worked.
LINK: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6q72cvi9954vb0r/default_gain.conf
It will be changed to 60 instead of the standard 50-55 which is a huge difference
Go to System/Etc and just paste it in there and overwrite the existing file and then change the permissions to what the others files are.
Dont forget to leave a ThumbsUp
Just helping the community

You should not be sorry and this is not duplicate of that tool, this is duplicate of some other default gain threads. Your one is useful also.

Nothing difference, you can say Advantage. With the sound boost tool you have four stages of sound boost option- stock, medium, high and extreme. Just flash and keep the good for you and you can switch one from another so easily. You don't need to edit default gain again and again for changes.
