Galaxy S III - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Amazon kicked off a sale on Thursday just ahead of Samsung’s unveiling of the Galaxy S IV. The online retailer is now offering the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II at steep discounts, but the pricing varies depending on your carrier and what device you’re picking up.
Verizon’s Galaxy S III can be purchased for just $0.01 with a new two-year contract. Sprint’s Galaxy S III is still a penny, but the Galaxy Note II is now just $69.99 with a new contract. Meanwhile, Amazon is selling AT&T’s Galaxy Note II for $149.99, down from the original sale price of $199.99, and the Galaxy S III is available for just $49.99.
You may want to hold off on picking one up until Samsung reveals the Galaxy S IV, but if you’re satisfied with the above prices then jump on it

[Q] Samsung Tab 10.1 vs Lg G-slate(Optimus Pad)??

This maybe a dumb question, but I am stumped:
If you had a chance to get an Optimus Pad(32GB) for only $250 vs getting the new Samsung Tab 10.1(16GB) for retail price $499.99. What would you get?
After taxes that almost a $300 diff
Galaxy Tab Samsung is on a roll in my opinion and in most cases you get what you pay for

thanks for the info
With a G-Slate(LG Optimus Pad), don't you have to also sign a 2 year data plan? At least, in the US, it's only available as a T-mobile exclusive, which needs contact (no wifi-version). So, if you factor in being saddled to a data plan, then the Samsung Galaxy Tab is actually cheaper.
And if you're drawn to the G-Slate(Optimus Pad) cause of the smaller form factor of an 8.9 inch screen, then probably better to wait for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 due "before the end of Summer."
If that's all you have to pay (no contract or 3g fees) the LG is a no brainer.

[SOLVED] When will Samsung stop selling the S II in Australia?

Hello. I don't post here, but I'm thinking of moving on from my Nexus One to a Samsung Galaxy S II. I would like to when Samsung will stop manufacturing and selling the S II in Australia since the S III came out a few days ago.
Thanks!

lol what?
Optus, Vodafone and Telstra has sold them for ages. Telstra even brought out their own specific 4G version.
Have you even looked?
And my crystal ball says ......

Of course they won't tell you (nor will Samsung tell you if you contact them directly). That's sensitive info for a company selling stuff. Given you can still get quite a few lower end Galaxy devices from many of the phone retailers (TeleChoice in particular), I think you'll find the SGS2 will be available for quite a while yet (end of year at least I would have thought; probably longer).
Why don't you just buy from eBay instead? That's where I buy mine from and never had any probs so far.
Well I think it will be a bit until the S III comes out so I will manage to buy the S II.

At least 6 months before Samsung stops delivering S2
Before stopping production of S2 Samsung will want to check the sales figures of the S3 on two quarters so you're safe to wait a couple of months.
But even if the S3 sells very well, the S2 is catering for a lower price bracket and still directly competing with iPhone 4 and 4s so they Samsung would want to keep it until their product segmentation drastically changes.
Crystal ball:
- if S3 sales are disappointing and iPhone 5 storms the market with real innovations then Samsung will want to compete on price (S2 at below 400US$ and S3 below 550US$) which will eventually come true in the ramp up to their newer flagship smartphone
- if Samsung limits S2 production to make room for S3 there might be a shortage and thus a price bump. Seems it's the better option here (as observed in Europe): we experienced inflation by 3-5% in the S2 price in the first months of 2012. If Amazon Europe is relevant, inflation is still not reversed. IMHO it could be that people waited for the S3 to be announced while Samsung slowed S2 shipments and they were disappointed with S3 (too large, nothing valuably new) and decided S2 would suit them ok.
So check the prices on eBay every week. In Europe you can still get it at about 500 AUD, so I guess it's a good target price.
Okay thanks!

Does anyone upon xda predict a shift upon the price of the Samsung Galaxy S III?

The topic illustrates my concern quite well. I shall soon purchase the Samsung Galaxy S III, however, I wish to know if you predict a decrease upon the price, and shall I await the aforementioned price decrease?
Perhaps wait till nexus 2 is out

Not until Q4 will there be a price drop. And even after Q4 with the Note 2 and iphone 5 it's not guaranteed to drop. My guess is it will take a $50 to $100 hit in then next 4 months. I would grab it now
It's already dropped $50-60 U.S. Dollars since it's been out.
S3 and Note phone price prediction in q4
My contract is about to over and interested in Galaxy S 3 and Galaxy Note (USA)
I m not sure if Note 2 will be in market by September end or October as i see on some website that it will be release in Berlin in 28-aug.
should i wait to get price down- i can wait fr a month. Looking for T-mobile or At&T in USA with contract price.
I buy my phones on EBay, or elsewhere online.
Prices tend to fall slowly online, with occasional upticks if supply gets tighter.
GS3 is still the "hottest", most expensive phone, with no signs that will change soon, IMO.
So don't expect any quick substantial prices drops anywhere.
I would tend to assume the price may slowly drop $200 or so within the next 6 months.
Still pretty much the same price in Ireland, then again this country is a rip off of epic proportions
I bought mine today from the Bay, used but mint, £340

[DISCUSSION] Samsung Galaxy Fold UK thread

Discussion thread for all UK related news relating to the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
So far nothing from the major telcos.
You can however pre-register on the Samsung site:

From t3.com:
In the UK, the Fold will be available direct from Samsung or via EE as the exclusive network partner. Pre-orders go live on Friday April 26 ahead of the first Folds hitting shelves nationwide on Friday May 3, 2019. It'll cost £1,799 from Samsung while EE price plans will be announced at a later date.
EE... *Ray Liotta laughing meme*
USA pre-orders open tomorrow, so with any luck we'll see a proper press launch (which they promised for "early April")
According to a Verge interview with Kate Beaumont (director of product, services, and commercial strategy at Samsung UK), Samsung was supposed to have a full press event for the Fold in early April.
I wonder whether there have been some issues which have meant there are delays?
I registered for more info on the Samsung site and haven't heard anything, and I search for stories quite often, but it doesn't seem like there's been anything official since February other than a few country specific carriers which will be selling the phones.
Definitely missed the "early April" slot anyway.

Anyone knows if in UK is a dual sim version?
Yeah, I think it is single sim which is a no go for me.
Ah man, this means I need to sell my Galaxy S10 Plus. I'll preorder when the Fold is available to order and then sell my S10 Plus shortly afterwards.

Samsung poor trade in deal

UK Samsung are only offering trade in for the older Tab S3 against the new Tab S6. How daft is that! What offers have in your country?
I have not seen any trade in info yet in the US. Pre-orders start on the 23rd so if there will be any I expect them to be published then.
Where did you see the trade in values on the s6?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In the UK, on the Samsung website - strange they don't include the Tab S4
I asked them direct and they will give you £50 for the tab S4 but like 160 for the tab S3 . Guess they don't care for people with the latest ???
US trade ins are up.
$75 for the S3.
$200 or $250 for the S4 depending on memory.
$300 or $350 for the S5e depending on memory.
There are others but that is the last few 'S' models. Not really worth it for the S3 (what I am replacing).
