Fast charger ! - RAZR HD Accessories

Re hello here...
Like me ... you can't leave all the night your own razr hd on the charger !
Try this charger

( i am not the seller ! )
Just search Sony Ericsson EP850 for europeen user...
They charge very quick !!!!! in one hour one hour 15 ... you are full ! great for a little price ! :good:

The faster your battery charge the more you're hurting its life. I'd rather my phone take 4 hours to charge and the battery doesn't get affected too much then having it charge quickly and needing to change the battery cuz it won't hold a charge...

No way. I have to charge mine for 2-3 hours. It's a huge battery.

It's hard to replicate cause I work all day but come this weekend I will do it again, charge from 0% to 100% and what not.

I'll get mine down to zero and charge and time it. Its two hours minimum. Haven't noticed big difference with phone powered off. It seems like 98% to 100% takes the longest which I'd attribute to the battery calibrating?
I refuse to use any charger other than what's included. Too risky. Many knock offs on the net too. I always charge mine at night before bed and unplug. Not going to leave the phone plugged in for long periods of time while it's charged. My phone lasts two days this way with heavy use.

Phones nowadays are designed to handle fast charging. Using a fast charger or a cheapo won't affect your phone any differently. However, cheap chargers can sometimes overheat your phone, and on top of that, Motorola phones are quite picky about the types of chargers they work well with.

This is for anyone having a charging problem on a Razr device----
I uninstalled a RAM booster called Memory Booster - RAM Optimizer a few days ago, and have yet to have a charging problem. I had the booster set to auto clean the system garbage when the screen was off. I'm making an educated guess here, but I'd be tempted to say that it was killing one of the Android processes that keeps the phone awake while charging, and it would bug out and crash.
Long story short, if you're having a problem with an HD shutting down overnight, UNINSTALL ANY APP KILLERS, TASKERS, OR RAM BOOSTERS.
Hope this works.

This phone isnt really picky on the charger as much as it is with the cable, i can only get it to charge with a moto brand cable or a sony one from my camera, my samsung cables, walmart cables, and even my nexus 7 cable will not connect right and refuse to charge it. Got to love too the phone eats a cable every 5-7 months loosening the pins on the cable to where its a floppy thing in it and wont connect solid. Phones usb port is still tight when i buy a new cable.
As for charge time I have the MAXX HD, its 2 hours from 20-95% 95-100 15 min, and it takes 15 min to get the phone to even boot if i run it down to 0, and then 3ish hours to fully charge. This is with the Dual USB port charger in the package with verizon and a bluetooth headset plugged in the same adapter too.

New chargers
Let's hope someone is able to make motorola's new quick chargers work with the razr line...

Crappy no name cables can half your charging speed. One of the first places they scrimp is with thinner gauge copper wires that cause high resistance and reduce the amperage available to the device. I picked up a little charge doctor and was doing some testing with some of my devices showed that a OEM Apple lightning cable with Apple charger would charge an iPad over 2.2A but switch over to a Apple authorized MiLi cable and it could only flow 1.7A. I have seen similar issues with micro USB cables as well.
Also fast charging alone is not that bad for the battery as long as everything stays cool. Never charge in a hot car or in direct sunlight. If your device seems warm to the touch - your likely doing damage to the over all life of the battery. This is why wireless inductive charging like the Qi chargers are such a poor idea in practice as many of the models dump a lot of waste heat into the device shortening the cell life span from 3 years down to less then one in many cases.

Can someone please test the GS2 charge time?

Hi guys
I'm an iphone 3gs owner at the mo but my contract is up in a week and after doing A LOT of research over the past 3 weeks, i was pretty much decided that the GS2 was gonna be my next phone.
Then i foolishly visited the xda forums! lol (in fairness, it probably still will be my next phone).
But seriously though, setting aside the various issues some people are clearly having (reboots, battery drain, etc) what shocked me the most was hearing about the low-powered charging mechanism (apologies if i've gotten this slightly wrong).
I've heard that it only charges at ~650mah, but that the phone can easily surpass this under load (~850mah?), meaning that you could be charging the phone at the same time as using it, only to find the battery going DOWN. Can someone confirm if this is true? If it is, then i'm gobsmacked that Samsung could make such a c0ck-up. Imagine if you're using the GPS (a real battery hog) while driving (and plugged-in to the ciggy lighter) only to find that the battery dies before you get to your destination! lol. I've heard about the heat this puppy produces, i wonder did they limit the juice to stop it from burning a hole through the floor
Even though i'm bored to t1ts with my iphone (and i hate apple), what i love about it is that when i don't actually use the phone for extended periods of the day (which is quite often, due to work) it still retains it's charge really well (i get insanely good battery life). I would be really annoyed if i found the GS2 battery dropping any more than, say, 30% over the course of a busy working day (say 9am to 7pm) with virtually no use.
So, to finally get to my point! My iphone charges REALLY fast. I'm worried that it will take a stupidly long time to fully charge the GS2. Can some kind person please do an experiment for me, and see how long it takes theirs to fully charge (from fully dead to 100%) with the screen off and the phone not doing anything major in the background?
Also, it would be good to know how this compares to the GS2's competitors.
Sorry for the long post guys!
my phone is at 33% at 8:08
Will let you know how I get on. I have it on charge now
I think mine takes around 3 hours from empty using samsungs supplied charger but I will try to do a test for a more accurate time. How does this compare to the iphone?
Yep mine takes about 3 hours as well from empty to about 90% using the wall charger, then it goes on trickle charge the rest of the way. This is on standby as well.
Yepp takpes about 3 hours to get fully charged. however, i've been using the phone as a wifi hotspot all the time and yes, it increases charging time but it doesn't really matter when it takes so long anyways

65% at 9am
It takes almost 3.5-4 hours to charge it with stock charger from empty to full.
It takes a bit more than 5 hours to charge from empty full using USB charging in my laptop.
Found out the hard way:
Charging with original EU charger AND heavy use (downloading, Wifi tethering, map ops etc.) MADE it drain faster than charging.
Two nights before left it during night with orig. charger and made it in 8 hrs only to 84% while on.
With Hama 0,8 amps charger full in 2hrs from empty and stays full even with heavy work.
NO heat issue though !
Methinks the charger is crap

Any idea what the max amps the phone can take? I've been looking around, seen chargers up to 2 amps, but don't want to ruin the phone...

if you look thru the battery driver source code, samsung capped the charging at 650 mA it seems. not sure why, other android phones use the full 1 amp.
so samsung either saw a heat problem and lowered it, or that's just the way they do their phones charging. who knows.

Wow, ok. As someone who uses 3G a lot when our internet connection goes down (all too often), I hope the charge will end up keeping up with the battery drain. Otherwise I'll be tempted to change that source and probably end up frying my phone (if it ever gets in stock :|)

Any diference betwen original charger and a china charger?

Hi there.i bought my phone, an xperia x10 with a non original charger.it takes about 1,5 hours to charge completly....and the dischatge it seems to be fast (a half of day woth medium use, with internet activated). On my car i use an original nokia n97 charger, and it takes a lot of time to charge and the discharge is more faster. If i will buy an original charher for home and for my car....will be any improvments on my battery life? Will the charge circele be more faster? Thanks for the answers.

im thinking charge in car is the similar to charge in laptop, they both take really long since the voltage isnt that height, i dont have a car yet but imo, it wouldnt make any difference

The original charger charges about 2~4 hrs on normal not so very hot temperature day, but on a very hot day it will charge for about 4~8hrs and will not even reach the 100% mark. I use LG Charger and Sony Ericsson Charge(the one that came with my x10), and I don't really see a difference, on the other note, I've tried using blackberry charger on my office mates bb bold and it charge a lil bit faster but not much difference.
All charger that I have tried would lasted a 8hrs minimum to 1 and half day(depends on weather, since heat cause battery to drain quickly),
all internet connection is on, auto sync to gmail is on, facebook notification is on, no timescape, 2 homescreen(launcher pro), browsing web either through device or tethering and it will last for about the whole day on the average.

You mean current.
Voltage is always standard. "5V"
Look at the amount of mA the charger supplies.
A normal usb2 port supplies 500mA
Your wall charger supplies 700mA
there is controller of charging in x10. so if you use 1200mA charger - x10 will recieve only 700mA to avoid damage.
and full charging from 0to100% takes about 1.5 hours (5-7hours by usb). discharge-1-2days of non very active using. it's normal.
china chargers are adverse and accident-sensitive most of all. do you want it burns out when you're sleeping?

[Q] Charging on the Samsung Galaxy S3

Well I bought the Galaxy S3 on the first day of the UK launch and depleted the battery to 0% then charged with the original 1 Amp charger from 0%. I had noticed that this takes a very very long time, around 8 hours. The battery life after charging however is substantial and very adequate.
On the second charge after depletion once again, I decided to use a Griffin 2.1 Amp charger which I had used to charge the hefty Galaxy note with. The Galaxy S3 charges at a much rapid rate and takes around 2-3 hours to reach 100% from 0%. However I have noticed that the battery life depletes a bit faster, Is this due to my imagination or is a 2.1 Amp charger not suitable for this phone as it was with the tablet-like Galaxy note.
Also note that I tried to charge my HTC one X with the 2.1 Amp charger and it charge very slowly, while the original HTC charger has a much lower ampage than 1 Amp
Hmm I have been using my galaxy s charger 0.5amp and it has been charging pretty slowly but seems to deplete faster.
I have been actively using for 50min on wifi now and 85% left. Which seems a bit quick for me. I will try charging with the standard 1amp tonight and see.
Now fast are you depleting at?
I measure my battery life by checking the screen on time just before the death of the charge which was 5 hours on the original charger, with the quick charger its 4 hours. My Galaxy note has no change in battery life weather you any ampere chargers. Also the general battery percentage seems to run low faster anyway on the galaxy s3 using the fast charger.

I shall try the standard 1 amp charger the next time my phone depletes
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
Just wondering, since the S2 had a limit of 650mA for charging, does this apply to the S3? You guys make it sound like it charges slow as well...
Galaxy s2 does charge very slow for me aswell. Compared to htc phones the Galaxy s 2 charges painfully slowly. Now I regularly use the 2 amp charger on my galaxy s3 and have seen a huge improvement in charging speeds. It charges at around 2% per minute and still lasts around 4 hours of screen time for a full charge.

I noticed that I can only charge fast using original charger. While charger with shorted usb data + & - (ie. htc 1A charger) will not activate fast charging.
You can verify by going into *#*#4636#*#*, Battery, using ori charger will show AC while HTC charger will show USB
I think samsung made some changes to the microUSB pinout

Thanx for the "shortcode". Where does one find those?
Also from reading about the MHL to HDMI cable from older devices not wotking, it does in fact seem that Samsung have changed the microUSB pinouts (although my Nokia 1.2A charger shows AC in that battery "menu").
Mine charges from about 10% to full in about two and a half hours, using the charger provided in the box.
My s2 came with a 0.7amp charger and took about 2.5 hours. My s3 came with a 1amp charger and takes about the same. Charges to 80% in no time and then slows down for the later part of the charge

A battery isn't like a fuel tank which you simply fill up through the hose until it's full.
Due to physical and chemical reasons, a nearly-full battery takes a lot longer to fill by a certain percent since it simply can't store the energy quickly enough.
Additionally, deep-discharged batteries often start with a slower charging speed (and then cranked up) to keep the battery from dying too soon and/or not being able to reach full capacity.
is the Nokia 1.2A charger ok to use with the samsung G3 as i got one of these spare and would prefer use it if so as the usb is way to short to reach from my desk up and around the back.
but the Nokia 1.2A charger lead is more than long enough
Just to check with all of you, i've been told that it is best not to charge your phone or any other handheld device IF the battery is not at a really low rate, at least not till your device actually prompts you to charge. They were saying that this would cause the battery life to be shortened. But at times, I need to make sure that i have enough battery to last me for a few more hours before i knock off from work, i would just charge the phone (battery at 25-30%) even before it prompts me to. Is it alright to do that often?
2ndly, at times when i stream videos on my phone for many hours, the battery would definitely drain fast and i would need to charge my phone at least 2-3 times a day. Is it alright for me to do that or am i "abusing" it? =X
Appreciate all your advises...Thanks in advance~
so any update on if using the nokia charger is ok with it being 200mah more than the standard 1A charger since it has longer lead.
or there is the 700mah samsung charger from my old S2

I don't know why this misconception still lives on; lithium ion batteries require no priming on first use. The WORST thing you can do with a li-ion battery is to fully deplete it before recharging. It is much better to top it off whenever possible; having said that leaving it turned on, on the charger once it is full is also not the best thing (though nowhere near as bad as depleting it fully).
I believe since this phone has a removable battery with external charger the best thing you can do is always charge your battery in the external charger and just switch out the battery when it gets to around 10%.
Nek0onna you should charge your phone whenever it's not full and you have a handy charger.

Can anybody check what the max charge rate is on this device with a battery monitor app? I have handfuls of 1A and a couple 2.1A chargers. I'd really like to charge at twice the rate if possible but not all devices support such rapid charging (kernel limits and such). Just curious before I buy one Thanks!
Even if Samsung slipped up and allowed a 2A charge i'd never want to try it, because tablet and laptop batteries are rated and manufactured for a higher current charge/discharge and most phone batteries would heat and swell up and possibly explode.
my HP touchpad charges with a 1A charger and it would be nice to use that with my sgs3.
Can anybody please check what the max charge rate is on this device

Charging issue

Did you guys notice the battery take too long for full charge? Especially charging while in use. It seems doesnt charge at all
Could anyone help me out? I was charging and surfing web the XTZ at the same time, but the battery even went down by 2 to 3% in 3 hours even though the tablet was charging. Is it common or should I exchange it?

Yes. I used the original charger and cable. When I let the screen on while charging, it seems like its just preventing the battery run down, instead of adding more charge. I guess I got a defective battery. When the screen off, it just take too long for full charge, like almost 9-10 hrs. I test the cable and charger with another device it seem working fine. How long it take for you to do full charge when screen of btw?

I don't know exactly how long. But charging and using the device at the same time is no problem and adds charge at an ok rate. I would guess that a total charge would take around 4 hours but it is a guess.

I did some research and this is what I came up with...
-- the USB charging seems to be hard-limited to a maximum of 500mAh intake. This is consistent with the original USB specifications, although no one really adheres to those anymore anyways. Charging with 500mAh is bound to take a long time and presumable even light usage (screen-on + sufing) will prevent charging at all and still drain the battery or keep it at the same charge level. I consider this a quite major design fault and wonder why Sony did this - if they had any strong reasons (overheating near USB port due to the thin build and no heatsink properties of the material?) or if it can and will be adressed later on by software (I am not sure if that is the case...)
-- this also means that using different chargers (if they work at all, the Tablet seems to be picky and did not make use of two generic ones that were tried, only a HTC wallcharger was accepted next to the original Sony one) that put out more than those 500mAh will either not work or they will deliver just the 500mAh the USB port accepts as a maximum
-- however the charging cradle contacts will readily charge the tablet with up to 1500mAh
If one were to assume the worst of Sony one could say they probably limited the USB charging to a minimum to push the sales of their original chargers. On the other hand one can argue that SLOW charging is actually better for the battery longevity, so Sony could defend that move with that reasoning...

There is a thing that while playing "heavy" games and charging from usb connected to pc it even dicharges. If connect it to stock charger (1.5A) it manages to charge but very very slow. There are chargers for 3.1A or even 5A which will charge your device very quickly.

WTF...
i just did check the charger ... its 1500 mAh output. But it surely doesnt charge with that so clearly usb is limiting it Oo. So clearly dock is a must not only no flaping cover but also faster charge. Anyone with dock can confirm that ?

I guess this how they boost the sale of their dock and avoid overheating..limit the USB output. They also sell the micro USB and charger on sony website. Dont know if it could make any difference.
I had my tablet plugged into my pc and while I was using it the battery actually went up a 1 or 2 percent. I got mine two days ago so maybe it's an early production issue?

I noticed that if I set the brightness to the minimum, I would be able to charge while screen on. If I set to max or somewhere middle, i would not. did it happen to you? if not I think my battery got issue then.
I believe mine was on auto brightness for that moment. I did notice that in the last two days, full brightness drains the battery A LOT. Within 2 hrs of screen time I was down to 55% battery

Just got mine XTZ and so happy with it, but same thing it take so long for charge it even with the wallplug.
I just notice, i have the XZ and if i use the cable directly on the phone it take a long time for charge it too. But if u use the dock my phone charge in less than one hour ( or maybe a little bit more), So i can guess is a usb limitation on the sony product (or maybe a marketing trap)
Sorry for my English.
In my case, since i've the Galaxy S4 ATT version, i use that wall charger i've not tried the one that comes with the tablet but the S4 charger is a 2A while the Tablet Z is 1.5, with the S4 one + stamina mode + auto brightness + special mode(only 1 core running under clocked to 1036Mhz, conservative governor) my tablet charges ultra fast from 10% to 50% in 1 hour and half or even less, also my standby time is up to 8 days at full battery.
If you have your tablet rooted and you want to use my special mode, just download CPU Adjuster from Play Store, give it root permissions, then create a screen off profile, 1 core, max 1036Mhz and that's it.

I consider this a quite major design fault and wonder why Sony did this - if they had any strong reasons (overheating near USB port due to the thin build and no heatsink properties of the material?) or if it can and will be adressed later on by software (I am not sure if that is the case...)

why should it be like that? We have a 6Amp battery in there and if it WOULD charge all the time with 500mAh max we would have a charging time of 12 hours. But if the battery reaches 80% charge charging will be much slower. That means if your statement would be true, we would have charging time of over 14-15 hours.
I charged mine in 6-7 hours. 6000/6=1000 so it´s normal for our 1,5 Amp charger.
Okay, tested it. Shorty story is, there is no difference between charging via dock and charging directly via USB port.
Long story:
- variation tested: SGP312 (WLAN 32GB)
- Battery percentage at start: 58%
- Charging time: 70 minutes
- Charger used - the one which came with the Tablet. The dock does not have a charger in either case, you have to use the Tablet one (which I do) or a 3rd party charger for it.
The only difference between the tests is that once the USB cable went directly into the Tablet and once the USB cable went into the dock.
Battery percentage after 70 Minutes with USB cable: 80%
Battery percentage after 70 Minutes with Dock: 81%
So basically, it got from 60 to 80% about ~1150mA / hour independently of the charging method.
As a sidenote, bringing it from 80% back to 58% took 28 minutes of playing a 1080p mkv at full display brightness,

Safe to use wireless charging overnight?

Just as title says... is it safe as if it were plugged into an outlet?
I don't see why not.
I have done it a few times already. Just stays slightly warmer I think. I use a pma wireless charger if that makes a difference or not.
I got the official Samsung one best buy gave out. Think that's Qi

Not too confident to put it on for wireless charging overnight.. Would get really got by the morning

This is why I wish manufacturers would start posting maximum surface temp specs for their chargers.
With that said, I'm guessing that Samsung's is reasonably built and won't get too hot. It also helps that part of the device hands "off" of the charger (that's also part of why I prefer circular chargers to rectangular ones).
Just make sure you keep the charger itself on a cool surface, and if you're one of those people who likes it to be 85 degrees in your house, you might not want to leave it on overnight. You could honestly probably rig the thing to vibrate itself off of the charger after a certain time lol.
I have been charging my S5 wirelessly every night for the past 6 months. I just used a low amperage charger so that it does not charge too quickly/ heat up too much. I am going to do the same with my S6 Edge.

You mean you bought a charger with low amps or you use a low amp plug that's not necessarily for the charger?

I use an original Samsung wireless mat and am using a low amp wall plug with it.
I got the duracel power mat that was from amazon.com and I leave it on overnight. The power mat seems to not stay constantly charging it. When I wake up my battery is full and it's not excessively overheating. It's a PMA charger, not a Qi one.

Well I've got the original Samsung Qi charger with the fast charge plug for the phone and I plan on charging mine overnight tonight. If the phone blows up I'll report back! I doubt it'll be an issue as the charger will surely only draw as much current from the power supply as it needs, and in-turn charge the phone at the recommended rate. I've been topping it up throughout the day on the wireless pad while I set up the phone and while it got warm I wouldn't say it got overly hot.
Edit - Charges quite fast on the wireless pad! Only been on there about two hours and it's charged from 24% to 97%! Certainly quicker than my old Nexus 4 charged. Was warm when I picked it up but will keep it on the pad overnight anyway to keep it topped up and I'll report back if it explodes!

Mine made it through the night without exploding lol... in fact, mine was cool to the touch and was not even charging when I picked it up... I think the samsung charger must shut off once the phone reaches 100%
Edit: the technology must be built into the s6 edge because I just put it back on once it dropped to 99% and it charged to 100 then the light on the charger turned green, the phone lit up and said fully charged and then it was no longer charging. Definitely seems safe to leave on overnight.

My findings too! Like yourself, phone was cool to touch, and light on charger (and phone) had turned green. :good:

Safe Wireless Charging
I am a traveler who takes a lot of photographs with my iPhone and Samsung S6 and so far Wireless Charging has been working well for me. I have proved that in many occasions while currently here in Southeast Asia (Cambodia as of this writing). Before leaving the US I made sure I was equipped so I shopped around and found a variety of safe Wireless Charging devices. IN my travels I would find myself tired and exhausted but need to charge so tendency is I fall asleep and wake up the next day and the device has cooled down after reaching 100% (during my sleep presumably). Look for devices like these.
I hope this helps!
