What do you mean optimize? If you think from developer point of view, then look at this developer.android.com/design/index.html

A $200 Android would be nice.

Not sure if this will work on your devices as I pulled it from a system dump. Still worth a shot.

I will receive my kindle fire today, and will look into it. I think it's easy to build one launcher according to fire's.

Samsung apps on aosp roms?

Is there any way to run Samsung apps on aosp roms? I would love to switch to running tasks aokp or cm9/10 but I would miss some of the apps that I currently have. Specifically the note taking app, s-voice (don't hate), and calendar?

Those apps are made to be universal. Should work on any ROM unless otherwise stated by the OP.

What is google now all about?

I didnt understand what is the use of it and what this app can do...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
it's an enhanced search.....so assuming you have location services active you can set up cards to feed you information without searching.....so say I walk to the bus stop, when I get there the next 5 bus departures are already sitting on my phone ready to see, .....in short explore the app and be rewarded.
Lots of settings to play and explore, I thought same as you initially, then got to explore it and find it quite useful now
Isn't it obvious?

Chromium or chrome.

Would it be possible to get chrome OS to work on or touchpad just like on the nexus 7?, I think it would be super cool if it were possible.

Very true. I'll want to try this when I get myself a nexus 7. Apparently it has been ported to that device.

Isn't it basicly a Linux distro?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Yes. except it's minimalistic and super quick.
All it really is, is the chrome browser. But it's the only Linux distro that can play Netflix, except for Android that is.

Maybe we can try and get a port once they updated the Ubuntu for touchpad with new kernel and stuff

That would be awesome, and I think with the new kernel work Linux OS's should be a lot better with stability.

No clue where to start, I've never tried chroot on any of my devices. But I guess I could take a read tonight after work.

I'll mess with this but with chrome arm.

Possible, but I don't see the point since Android already has Chrome and many more apps than ChromeOS which is made for webapps only.
