Pop Up GPS Notification - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Anyone know how to get rid of the annoying message that comes on whenever I enable GPS? Its so annoying to have to see that every time I turn it on. Also, I am currently rooted running the stock 4.1.1 I believe; whatever release came with the Note 2 and I am looking for a decent ROM. I dont have alot of experience and dont wanna mess up my phone.

Basically its backup all your apps and data from apps u downloaded, like facebook,twitter,etc.. the user apps, system apps, the ones that come with the rom dont ever restore causes problems rom to rom.. after u put the rom on your ext sd card..twrp, go to wipe proced to wipe data factory reset, cache, dalvik cache, install from storage the rom, flash that, then reboot... I personally purchased an app called go backup for all my backups and restore.. it only let's up backup your user apps not system apps so u can't screw up your restore, what I do is backup with go, then flash my new rom, after the new rom is up and running re downldownload go from market and restore from there, all apps are saved dont even have to log into anything again...

How to update my rooted NOTE to the official ATT ICS update that's coming tomorrow?

Hey everyone so I just read here... http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/09/att-samsung-galaxy-note-ics/...that Samsung is FINALLY rolling out the official ICS update. My NOTE however is running a custom DaGr8's AOKP ICS ROM...I'm a noob, can anyone tell me if I need to roll back to the bloated-stock ATT Gingerbread? And if yes, HOW??? Many thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

How would you go about backing up and restoring contacts and texts/mms? Titanium backup shows the contacts and what not but it also says 2.3.6 at the end. I feel like restoring this 2.3.6 onto 4.0.4 might not work.
Also, I'm aware you shouldn't lose anything in the upgrade process but I want to factory reset and erase absolutely everything prior to this upgrade. I run a stock rooted ROM.

Cheers People
Download Siyah 3.5.2.
http://www.gokhanmoral.com/gm/2012/07/29/siyahkernel-s2-v3-5/
Tar for Odin.
Then use this guide.
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-i9100-root-android-4-0-3-ics-xwlpd-88120/
Nevermind it says Cf-root. I flashed my Siyah kernel that way.
After that, flash any rom you want in recovery. Just do a Nandroid backup in recovery and backup apps with Titanium backup from Market!!!

Don't restore apps after flashing newer ROM, cause your phone will bootloop.
Better create text file and write names of installed apps.
Im not sure why everyone is worried about backing up there apps ive flashed about a 100 roms and never had to back them up cause if u go to the play store under my apps there always there
Infact there are apps there id forgotten about just pick which ones u want and re install .some roms auto instal them for u .make sure you have a google acc obviously!

Only if the application is on the external memory card then it's backed up there. Otherwise they'll loose the data if that's not the case.

If you restore from google play, you loose all your app settings and you will have to reconfigure each app.
Also, Google Play will not show apps installed offline (apk)
Restoring app data with third party app like titanium backup is safe if app is compatible with the target rom

in order to install a perticular custom rom , all u have to do is to follow the install instruction's of the same in there OP. and the same applies to all other roms also.
since installation instruction do vary from one custom rom to another

[Q] CWM Advanced Restore>Data On New Rom

Hi!
I was wondering, before I do something stupid , if there's any problem on doing an advanced restore, restoring only data, so I could get my apps, contacts, etc on my just flashed ROM Cyanogen Mod 9, for locked bootloader. I have two nandroid backups, one with the stock ROM ICS 6.1.1.B.1.10, and the other with a custom rom, I think called ZXperience.
So, can I do a data restore easily without messing anything?
Thanks!
PS: I'm using Sony Xperia U
Depends on cwm version, if it's 6 then you can't but if below then you can

Well, I had 6, so I install the v5... I did na advanced restore from the stock ICS ROM. Now, when turn on, it shows sony logo, then it shows cyanogen mod boot animation, then flashes, get's back to sony logo, and then to cyanogen mod boot animation again and so on.
I can't still boot into CWM Touch Recovery.
How can I restore my settings, contacts, etc?

Nandroid compatibility between different versions of CWM

OK....so I'm currently running Chameleon with jeboo kernel......
Just tried to do a nandroid restore from a backup compiled by PhilZ kernel. After doing the usual wipes the backup *seemed* to go through OK, but on startup I got a boot loop.....
Rebooted into (PhilZ) CWM and wiped dalvik and cache and rebooted....still boot loop. Don't want to factory reset as I'll delete all my apps and settings which kinda defeats the purpose of a nandroid.
The nandroid I tried to restore was a rooted debloated 4.1.2 firmware.....any ideas anyone?

Nandroid by default doesn't backup /preload partition, so you must include that in your nandroid backup to avoid bootloop in newer firmware versions. Especially if you are jumping around roms.

In cwm there is an option to include the /preload in our nandroid backup.

But can't seem to find the option to create the image during backup....
Can I assume that it's backed up by default, but not restored unless the option to restore is selected?

For some reason I am getting an invalid thread id error when I am quoting you, anyway your reply, no,default nandroid doesn't include /preload, there are options like misc. Nandroid settings where we can select the option to include the /preload partition in our nandroid backup.
Edit:You will need to scroll down in cwm to see it.

Guess you will have to upgrade your cwm, I use 6.0.2.9 and it gives the option to include the /preload in misc. Nandroid settings, maybe it's given somewhere else in that version, did you try the backup and restore in the advanced menu, there we can specify every partition we want or don't want, compression.. Bla Bla.. It's pretty neat....

We share similar dreams, I aim to be a really good developer myself professionally as well as part time, and have worked a lot for windows and android apps (though I have to REALLY polish my database skills) but to reach the level of Chainfire,.. You won't need to wipe data if you're flashing the same ROM but yes, you should always backup. Always take a Nandroid backup before flashing ANYTHING. Also think about using Titanium backup for individual apps.
You should read:

maybe u can use a launcher, like adwlauncher it let you change icons of your apps
If I wear to do an advanced restore and only remote the /system would that make any difference to my personal data, as it is syst apps that are modified such as the sms and phone app
