AvatarRom Questions. - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Does Thethering work on for this ROM?, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140902?? I tried turning on Wifi AP and nothing happens. Also, is there a way to disable wallpaper scrolling on Bozooka Launcher for this same ROM??
Thank you.

Update: since the ROM is based off of CM10, tethering will not work yet. Not sure if epinter's fix will work. Also, there is no option to disable wallpaper scrolling. You will need to use a different launcher.
Thanks.

epinter's overclock kernel
Just to answer more avatar ROM questions. Epinter's 1.3 ghz over clock kernel will work on this ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140902&page=18.
Make sure its the cm10 version and not the cm10.1. Normal installation, just flash through CWM.
It will generate more heat but its bearable.

Here is the link to the kernel. All credit goes to epinter. Thank you sir.

O hi, i"ll just leave it her3.
I'll use this thread .
I've flashed Avatar and enjoyed it very much, until the gapps update. Phone's been crashing constantly ,making it imposible to use and i had to restore back to CM7. Is there any way around ? A flashed with full wipe.

which gapps update did you use?? If you used the gapps from the 3.1.10 kernel version of AvatarRom, it may not work, not sure though. This thread for the Previous version of AvatorROM with the Gingerbread kernel using the 20121019 GApps.

I flashed the latest build, full clean wipe. Gapps were installed through rom update app (20121011).
I tryed reflashing the rom and trying again and although installation came through (i could sync with google acount) , no
google play icon is showing'only Gtalk.

Not sure then bro. Have you tried "fix permission" through your recovery?? I remember with the old build there were 2 Zip files, the zip files needed to be installed first, one after the other and then the Gapps. then wipe dalvik cache and/ (optional: cache partition) and reboot system.
Also, as it was mentioned before, the 3.1.10 Kernel in Latest Cm10.1 builds still has bugs. So if your concerned about a daily driver Rom you should probably stick with a CM7 based rom or at the Previous AvatarRom build. Sorry I couldn't help.

Tryed all that , no go. Its a very solid ROM ,but kinda useless without the Gapps. This is actually the only thing that didn't work. Otherwise a true daily driver candidate.

[Q] Since Root and custom ROM, Google Play and Gmail broken

Aargh... well, to start, I couldn't get CM10 past the boot animation. No worries, I was able to load MeanROM just fine. All apps are there, and loaded Gapps 4.1 as well - I even flashed the kernel. So I can boot and have normal phone operation, except for...
Although I do have internet access,
1) Play Store will not connect.
2) Gmail keeps crashing
3) And none of my Google accounts have an option to sync contacts.
Three strikes!
Can someone help me with any of the aforementioned problems?

Which gapps did you use? You should use the ones linked on IRC or the 4.2 gapps and no wipe is needed although you can wipe dalvik cache if you want.
Edit I think the gapps you need are dated as 20121011 jb gapps
Edit 2 are you son? Because I believe the kernel should be 3.0.53

[Q] Tried to flash a ROM, now google play won't work

Hey all-
First off i have the AT&T HTC one
It is rooted, and all
I tried to flash LiquidSmooth without wiping, (Which was stupid), and nothing changed.
Everything was the same, even after "Updating Android" and the apps
I then tried to flash it after wiping, and nothing changed yet again, except for the fact that now Google Play, and Account Manager won't open.
What do I do??
I really want LiquidSmooth, so if anyone knows what I did wrong please tell me. The priority is obviously getting google play working.
Flash gapps.

So is gapps not LiquidSmooth?
Are they different things? If so where do I find the zip for LiquidSmooth
Excuse my noobyness please.
Looks like the dev pulled liquid smooth as it was causing softbrick.

Might have found a bug. Running the PAC nightly 9/1 and your original gapps debloated works fine. Just wiped everything and reflashed PAC 9/1 and your new gapps, and I can't install 1Weather. It says the device is not supported.
Just to confirm, i wiped everything again, reflashed the same PAC 9/1 and the old gapps and I can install 1Weather without any issues.
That is odd.

Is there a deb/lte version of the rom?
I flashed via twrp. Seemed legit. Quick perusal of settings indicated 4.4. Maybe because gapps weren't installed but I couldn't get Google now working - either through up swipe or the new right swipe from the main screen. Worth a go for the adventurous.

Just an FYI for you and for others...you don't need Gapps to operate Android. But there are three main things to take note of.
1) You won't be greeted by the welcome screen, and it will boot directly to the launcher.
2) The Play Store will be missing, so obvious problems will face you. Even if you download the play store and install it yourself, you will be presented with problem #3.
3) You cannot add any Google accounts, so the play store and all gapps will be useless, even if they are installed from the internet. This is the main problem with having no Gapps.
But no fear, you can still install Titanium Backup and restore your backups, if you have any. Or attempt to install an old version of gapps and see what happens. Don't be afraid to experiment. I haven't heard about messing with software bricking devices as of yet.
i tried to install the some apps manually but settings force closes any time i try to go to the security tab. everything else seems to work flawlessly though
I tried flashing this using 4.3 gapps and it didn't work out too good. Setup wizard FC stuck. Just letting the other impatient people know.

I wouldn't suggest updating from CM12.1 to CM13 using the latest zip. Maybe CM13 is going to require a fresh flash.
I made a NANDroid and gave it a go. The update to CM13 wasn't so bad, you just have to grant all permissions to the system updater after the .zip update: http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/118479-cm13-setup-wizard-has-stopped-working/page__st__20
It was the GApps that bugged. I tried the Nano package from http://opengapps.org. Error prompts with GMail, Keep and others persisted. Had to restore CM12.1.
Maybe just me but I am noticing significantly better battery life with CM 13 compared to CM 12.1
