Battery on AOKP MILESTONE 6, something drain my battery very much, very, very - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have Alcatel ot 990 and AOKP Milestone #6. Somthing drain my battery very fast.Example when battery full - 100% for 4hours battery spend about 50-55% in deep sleep, I dont touch phone. In Battery better stats app, when look somthing which name is this AWAKE - alwys over 30%, NO DATA CONECTION 100%, NOOR UNKNOWN SIGNAL-100%, SCREEN ON alwyas show like work full time, I must say that this options shows when phone in deep sleep. I confused with this no or unknown signal and no data conection, why always show 100% when phone in deep sleep. And this-awake.When look in applications/running, only work app which I rigged to work, and some app of system.
Here screen shot for this options .
I have and DUMP LOG from battery better stats. Please can you help me, and syas what I do that my battery work how need.

try to close and let your phone whithout wifi connection and check it.
or
try to keep your phone to flight mode to check it
or try to change your rom

I Dont change ROM, I Know this for wi-fi,.
Can anybody want read log, and tell me what I do.

Use BetterBatteryStats for a detailed report on your battery usage.... Also you can test whether any wakelocks are preventing your phone from going to sleep.. Use the Wakelock Detector app to find the applications which gives you maximum wake locks.. Finally use the Greenify app to hibernate the problematic apps according to your convinience..
All the application mentioned above are available in playstore...

Thanks, now I get app from Play store.

I realy mad because battery.Something still drain my battery, I dont know what. I think that ROM, dont work good-kernel, and dont put app in off, when I go-from app. What I do, can someowne tell me.

Battery drain over night FIXED(!?)

I was pissed off as my phone lost all the juice over the night and didnt have time for filling it in the morning as i have to go to my job. Also i am a privacy freak and from obvious reasons i dont like google apps, same goes for gmail (as i am using exchange server i dont need all the sync stuff there) which was my initial reason for preventing the application to start - i dont use ANYTHING releated to google/market and i dont have any account there, i never used it.
On rooted phone I started to prevent starting everything related to google and DRM, market etc. (autostarts https://market.android.com/details?id=com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts):
- DRM*
- Factory Test*
- com.google.*
(i think this was all, i'll recheck if there was something else)
And guess what. The battery drain over the night is now around 2% and the phone is quite able to survive 2 days (not completely accurate as i had it connected to computer for 10 minutes in between to pump some files from it), after the second night i still had 12% of battery left.
If someone else is able to repeat that, please report the results and if someone is able to figure out which app exactly is draining the battery even batter.
One thing i dont really understand is what are those apps doing during the night, there is no reason to contact any of google services as i dont have any account entered, so wtf are they doing?!
To ROM cookers, please stop adding google apps by default, make them as package to be installed later if you wish.
I do not have any communication or at least there should be none over 3g (droidwall) and i dont want to kill aplications just to have peacefull sleep. I was searching for final solution and i have found it.
One solution is to switch off wifi and data connection in night and sure you will have better battery drainage.
Not entirely related but just a heads up for people, last night i downloaded that Getjar app and it decimated my battery overnight so i uninstalled it this morning.
I assume most on here know about https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en this is the best app you can get when it comes to preventing battery drain (tells you exactly what is draining your battery)
seems getjar is eating away at the battery, dont understand why it needs to do that !
Go to the task manager and kill all running tasks, then clear ur RAM before going to sleep @ night.
I loose like 1-2%
Send from my Samsung Galaxy S II

If it is a night issue, try turning the display ON before unplugging the charging cord. I have used this method and the battery stays at 100% all night long.

[Q][Solved] How to debug "Android-System" power consumption

Hi everyone,
I've done very much try and erroring to find out which app is draining my battery and if it's really neccessary.
As you can see on the attachment, it looks really nice already. The only thing which drives me crazy are those long and often "Aktiv" (Awake) parts. I couldn't find any information on the SDK pages.
My Phone seems to be very often Awake while in standby. I can't understand why it has to wake up that often. Am I right, that this "Awake" means, that the cpu is running (not in sleep mode)?
Is there any way to log which software is waking the device up?
Greetings
Chris
Yep, "awake" means that cpu is running. Try Badass Battery Monitor, it has a list called AppSucker, that lists the apps by battery consumption
Thanks. That is exacly what I was looking for.
Now I'm still sure, that there is somethink wrong with the battery consumtion. As you can see on the attachment, "Android-System" takes 2 hours(!) for some stupid things.
These are the datas for one night (it was a short one ) The phone wasn't used at all. Is that normal? I mean, thats nearly 30% of the time. Okay, the total capacity loss seems okey, but the phone hast absolutly nothing to do. Except for some interrupts of from the baseband and some cronjobs maybe. But that doesn't need 2 hours.
Any suggestions what courses these long awake times? Or another way to debug this?
Thanks
Chris
Android-system, huh? Seems like you have a wrong config, or a service is keeping awake the CPU...
Sorry, I dunno other way to debug it, but you already tried to calibrate your battery? (let that your battery runs out, charge it fully and, without unplug the charger, go to Recovery >Advanced >wipe battery stats. Unplug and reboot).
Yep, that was the first ding I did.
I'm running IceColdSandwich - 7.4 - AOKP STRIPPER EDITION. Maybe this is some kind of bug.
Maybe someone have another idea how I can debug this. Nevertheless thanks for helping.
You should check to see if Sync is turned on. This will cause the phone to wake up to contact any accounts you have set up to sync... I would suggest setting sync to off unless wifi is available.
On my rom (Gingerbread base) the wifi is turned of when the screen is off, which will make sure that google will never try to sync while the phone is idle.. The downside you will have to wake the phone in order to receive emails and stuff via wifi, and if not on wifi you will have to check your email manually.
I think I found it. Badass Battery Monitor showed that "Google Backup Transport" is part of Android-System, so I removed it. I didn't use it anyway.
My phone is not crashing, I still runs smoothly. The keep-awake time shrinked to 30m during 7h (including short uses). That seems totally legit for me.
Thanks for helping
Chris

Problem with S3 Battery

When i fall asleep i just place my phone nearby the bed and its on airplane mode, wifi closed, data closed and generally no apps running(i think so).The battery is level (ex)50% and when i wake up,about 7 hours later its always about 15-20%.why this happen?
I checked the battery manager just after i waked up and the first was screen(56%) and after that adobe reader(10%)
Start with Better Battery Stats and read the ten million battery posts on XDA .

Better battery stats does not work.dont know why.and i made my own post cause i cannot find the solution of the problem on other posts.try to be more polite to your answers
have you tried downloading the xda version of the better battery stats? if not here it is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Is your phone rooted? Like others said, try to install the xda-forum version of BBS but it's weird because I did install the one from GPlay.
One of the first lead is the WiFi? Is it always turned on? There's a bug with it. Go into the advanced WiFi settings and set it to 'only if activated' (I don't know the exact spell in English but it's something like that).
But you better have to dl BBS & check the wakelocks.

which rom are you using?
that should be solved flashing another kernel, try it.
dont use a rom...my phone is just rooted

what?
Underclock when you're not using your phone.
That will save battery.
If ur using stock TW. Put on power saving mode
PM Me if u want to know more.
Try using an app called easy battery saver and only use the cable and plug that came with your galaxy s3 it works for me, today I had eight hours after charge and using internet with 3g nearly continuously.
You would get much more by leaving it on standby.
Also restrict your background data, turn off your automatic updates at play store andturn off WiFi while screen is asleep.
Follow all these for better battery.
Use any battery investigation apk/widget (I'd recommend battery monitor widget) and look what is causing the drain...
may I guess: cell standby or gpsd?
guys i remember you that the cell phone is on flight mode with wifi, gps and data turned off
and, if you have a soft which contains a bug - you'll have such processes running.
It is up to you to install any apk which will contain more detailed statistics what actually is consuming so much juice.
If you do not want - no one would force you.

I have the exactly same problem,30% drain overnight. That happens after updating to 4.1.1 JellyBean. With ICS never happened.
Go into the battery page, click on the graph and then post a screenshot of the detailed graph here. It is usually an app or process not letting the phone go into standby. Happened to me when I had my phone on ICS out of the box. I fixed that all up through the individual app settings and all was sweet. Then when I went from ICS to JB, the issue came up again and I had to go through the apps again to change the settings back. It seems that by updating from ICS to JB, certain settings get set back to default, which then does not allow the phone to go into standby.
Culprits that I have found are:
Facebook - set to manual refresh interval
Weather (or any weather widget) - manual refresh interval
Google play store - Turn off Google AdMob Ads
Any form of newsreader (I was using Pulse) - Turn off notification when there are new stories
Wifi advanced settings - Set Keep Wifi on during sleep to "Always"
Samsung account - Turn off sync
Samsung app store - Turn off Update Notification, turn off push notification, turn off ad preferences.

Maybe some apps running in background if you are using *viber* delete it
It makes proximity sensor always on.
Try delete apps like that
Thanks

Guys please keep in mind that keeping the stock os without any custom kernel might be not as effective than using an adequate custom rom...
In addition remember, cooler temperatures cause ur battery to lose its charge faster...
So if ur phone is placed on the window shelf and its getting cold during the night it might cause ur battery to drop fast..
I made this observation with my sgs plus....
Hope i helped.

Device is always awake and WiFi is always on

Hi,
I'm having battery issues with OPX again, first it was a faulty battery, but now it looks like the there's something wrong with the settings. The device loses about a third of it's battery overnight, but when I look at the stats I can see that WiFi is always on and the device is always awake!
I have installed naptime as well and told it to ignore sensors (not that it matters as the device is not moving overnight) and to sleep even if connected to a charger etc. No matter what I try the device is always awake.
Is there a way to find out what is keeping it awake?
When I look at usage since last full charge there's nothing unusual there, just regular apps and single digit percentage numbers.
Thanks for your help!
System version?
I'm on Android Marshmallow, using Resurrection Remix ROM.
I'm not quite sure how to use the wakelock blocker, but I just installed Wakelock detector and it shows TripAdvisor as #1 on the list. I have it blocked in notifications, but I can't find anything related to TripAdvisor in wakelock blocker.
Is there any way to prevent apps from keeping the system awake, or should I just unintall TripAdvisor completely?
Not sure if I'm on the right track, but something is keeping the system awake and I need to find out what
OS3 with google back up turned off I get zero drain. Maybe 2-3℅ max over night. Also turned off automatic updates playstore. With just those two things off dont see drain anymore might just be lucky.
Well I think I'm back on normal drain. I uninstalled TripAdvisor, not using it except when I'm on holidays. I disabled the option to keep WiFi on even during sleep.
I used wakeblocker to block all weather/facebook entries, and I have two gmail accounts, one which is use a lot and one which I don't - so I blocked all wakelocks from syncing the account I don't use often.
Battery history confirms device is now correctly going to sleep and turning off WiFi. Automatic updates are still on.
I probably blocked too much, but I don't care anymore, I have 30% more battery every morning and that's good enough for me

[TIPS] Fix That Weird Battery Drain On Any ROM {M/N/O/....Z}

Hi guys, this is not the thread where you'll find fancy kernel tweaks to improve battery. I'll share a few little things I personally follow that considerably improved battery life for me. You don't even need root
If you use any other battery saving placebo like greenify or wakelock blocker, then you're on your own. I don't recommend these
Follow each of these steps -
1. Turn OFF pocket detection, screensaver and ambient display.
(AD is upto your preference, doesn't drain battery much)
2. Set location to device only mode.
(DE mode uses GPS satellites and gives enough accuracy, high accuracy mode keeps bluetooth and wifi scanning on, draining battery)
3. Turn location permission off for google app.
(drains alot of battery)
If possible disable location for every app except maps and google play services.
(tracks your device when it's lost)
4. Go to location settings, scanning and check whether bluetooth and wifi scanning are off, if not, turn them off.
5. Go to battery, performance and turn off automatic optimization.
6. Most important step, reboot your phone after doing all this.
That's it guys, try this and report Suggestions are welcome
Good Tips.
Very nice

I have done all these except 6 point (once per day). Plus I have installed greenify. But still battery drain in most of the ROMs. Even if I won't use my phone, the battery is draining fast. I have turned location off (always)

Just try that bud
actually the thing is that kernel is not proper for any ROMs for which there is a battery drain...
changing kernels will be battery saving because of CPU tweaks running always in the background even if the device's screen is off...
use greenify in magisk for more if you dont want to tweak with your kernel...
do this and tell if your battery drain is solved... also follow these steps above.. they are mandatory as well...
it doesnot work well for resurrection remix ROMs... i have tried... maybe fixed by change in kernel tweaks...
For some weird reason my device doesnt go deep sleep anymore. The battery graph use to to be flat but now therea a slight steep when i am asleep. I still do my usual habit of turn of wifi, turn off location, turn of sync, turn off scanning for bluetooth and wifi, turn off locatiom history. I am on stuart's los 14.1. this started to happen two days ago. You know the best app to troubleshoot?screen and lineageos system and android is on top of battery stats when checking after waking up overnight.i have no addon or other tweaks. Not even greenify because battery graph overnight is flat before.

Where I can see you're doing wrong is turning things on and off. The steps mentioned in thread do not break a single thing. Keep location as device only mode forever (no on off required).
Just follow those steps for atleast one cycle and report

Ill try. Ive been doing this for a long time since teammex releases builds. And since the first build of stuart got no problem up to the second build.by the way i am.only turning on location once in awhile if i need navigation. Only wifi and data connection is frequently turned off and on. The rest is off 90% of the time

Battery drain issue
Any one having a battery drain problem ........Go to magisk( if not installed plz find the tread and do it)....Then download Enable Doze ..... Optimize Google play services and Google app and see if it is fixed......Worked for me
Very nice practical advice. However, greenify is not a fancy placebo. Together with Leandroid, and only following no.1 and 4 of your guide, battery almost doesnt drain at all on my snapdragon Xiaomi when idle. For my MTk xiaomis, I have to flash the drain fix in addition to get the same results as the snapdragon variants.
Anyway, good advise.
