[APP / Tool] Universal kernel flash [v1.09] - Galaxy Ace II Android Development

Thanks to frapeti to make it works with Galaxy Ace 2
Universal kernel flash tool
What does it do?
Finally you can flash kernels from an app, without android terminal emulator
Instructions:
It's pretty easy, just follow simple few steps:
- Press "Check compatibility button"
- Select a valid kernel image
- Flash
- Reboot
FAQ:
Does it increase binary counter? No
Do I need to be rooted? Yes, of course.
Why is it for? With this tool you can flash kernels without a PC in your Android, easy and safer than never, just select the kernel image, flash and reboot.
Why is it safer? It has MD5 checksum to verify that your file is not corrupt, you must want to check it before flashing...
I have soft bricked my device flashing an mp3 file (?) what can I do? Flash with odin again, you can optionally flash the kernel only.
Suported devices:
GT-I9070 running Jelly Bean
GT-I9070 running Gingerbread
GT-I9070P running Gingerbread
GT-I8160 running Jelly Bean
* If you want to add a device to the list pm details and a kernel thread to have an example and I will update as soon as possible.

Dude, this is just an app for kernel flashing. With this you can flash custom kernels (for example D Kernel) which contain the recovery.

Ohhh sorry and thanks... do you know any kernel which has CWM for 4.1.2 MC8? i dont want D kernel cause i dunno how to use terminal
You suck I rock XD

“The Most Customizable Rom on Earth”, It is a funny saying that is almost true.
We don’t send out new patches or updates to the rom that forces you to wipe and install every day or two.
Our process lets us change things so you don’t have to!
Also helps our Themers stay sane in not building a new version every few days to keep up.
Features :
* Rom Control (AOKP)
* Sourcery Tools (Team Sourcery)
* Lots and lots of modifications, customisations and tweaks.
* Multilanguage

Fresh install recommended, I lost data when trying to use data.ext4 from B39
Some suggested tweaks are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28453024&postcount=3096
There are two versions AOKP B40 and aokPA B40, the first is standard AOKP, the second has additional ParanoidAndroid features accessed through settings. No Super RAM version I'm afraid, it is just too laggy to post. With a system.ext4 of 210Mb, it is perhaps understandable.
AOKP B40, changelog can be found on parent thread post#1

aokPA B40, see PA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662881 to find out how the extra features work, and check instructions on post#2 of parent thread. Thanks to the ParanoidAndroid Team and to DAGr8 for their excellent work. For haret users having problems getting into tablet mode, HTCHD2V has found that setting lcd-density in startup.txt to 120 solves this, thanks HTCHD2V.

wis1152 has again kindly ported this for us

Green tint when using flash on camera can be fixed using DL from post#3 of parent thread, put system folder in your /sdcard/ics/root folder and reboot.
SuperRAM version
OK, I said in the thread that the system.ext4 was too big to have a sRAM version, but it seems stable without too much lag, so I thought I would post it anyway. Includes greenflash fix.

Normal version
thanks to wis1152, we have a new build today, see post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26659600&postcount=2593. Thanks also to c1cl0n for offering to post a ported build.
SuperRAM version
There are reports of data not working for haret users in SRAM.
This is a lite version, so you may need to add some apps. I was able to use data.ext4 from previous builds, but as usual if you have problems, fresh install.

IceCreamTostidroid V1.1(and v1.1a SRAM) B36
Update to IceCreamTostidroid v1.1a B36, unfortunately marc1706's 35 kernel doesn't boot from sd build ATM, so I have put in dorimanx6.9hwa kernel (you can use over existing), see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26262865&postcount=4563 for changes, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26300582&postcount=2442 for link. Note that it is about 5Mb extra in system. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26325278&postcount=2470 for explanation of update probs.
Users with sim pin reboots see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26227527&postcount=4502
Additional apps not installed to system can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26263107&postcount=2364. The ROM has AROMA installer to allow the user to choose which apps to install to system. We don't have this luxury with sd build so have to do it manually.
Normal version
wis1152 has kindly ported this see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26199675&postcount=2259. Haret users should change to Dx 6,9hwa for wifi to work.
Users have reported that the "so called" SRAM version (that wasn't) is very fast and stable with tytungs r2.4 kernel, it is the lite version. Here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7q1trs6zobzgy1a, mirror http://d-h.st/gMS Thanks kuzibri et al.
SuperRAM version
Arrgh. Data is not working on new SRAM version. I will try to look at it later tonight or tomorrow. I will leave the link up for now. Just be aware. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26325278&postcount=2470 for explanation of SRAM probs.
Sorry to 505 people, the last download had SRAM broken (or I mucked up filenames, IDK why)
This new version has v1.1a update included. Use your existing data.ext4(backup recommended as usual).
Ported with Dorimanx 6.9hwa kernel (for both haret and magldr users)

IceCreamTostidroid V1.0 B35
Normal Version
Had to use dorimanx 6.9 hwa kernel on this one, and remove the updated adreno drivers, to get wifi to work. The version is lite with no additional apps. Magldr users can try tytung's 2.3 kernel and wifi may work. Haret should stick with 6.9

Unofficial AOKP Build 35
Normal Version
I couldn't get wifi to work with the default tytung 2.1 hwa kernel, so I installed tytung r1 hwa (no camera buttons, try lgcamera from market), you may find 2.1 works for you (try toggle airplane on/off). It seems that tytungs kernels over r2hwa do not work with haret. r2 works good though.
Do not attempt to change themes, you will suffer bootloops and it may corrupt data.ext4.

Unofficial AOKP milestone5 version2 and SE version
I have added superRAM version of M5 V2 to replace wis1152's one linked below which gave some people problems. It is stripped down (tosti and filemanager added) and has youtube and camera (visible buttons and >30 secs) fixes included. Newsflash- LCD density cannot be changed with this, looking for a fix
Download http://www.mediafire.com/?mpry89ngmnziqm9 md5=3b268ffe7310ad521a4ce03739375e91
wis1152 has kindly ported both normal and superRAM versions for us, and the SE (special edition), see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25666001&postcount=1796, note that camera fix (>30 secs) and youtube fixes are ATM mutually exclusive (either one or other) camera fix is default, use youtube fix (in post#1 "prevoius versions") in parent thread (see bottom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25663818&postcount=3336)
For ppl having problems with wifi, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25692906&postcount=1838, thanks c1clon
Unofficial AOKP milestone5
This is a milestone, not a build(nightly), so should be more stable. It has hwa in the kernel thanks to securecrt, Xylograph, Rick_1995, dorimanx, tytung et al.

Rick_1995 has posted a new kernel for this milestone which has a fix for the camera, google maps, poweramp and color banding, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25537180&postcount=1726, also use youtube fix, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25511562&postcount=1701. Thanks Rick_1995 Xylograph has posted this "Try to avoid video recording with the shantanu [Rick_1995] kernel.. DON'T PUSH THE "RESET NAVBAR" button it will make your phone unusable, it won't brick your phone, but it will make your systemUI go in a 'force close' loop.. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25008910&postcount=2416)

This is the latest version of Tostidroid. The name has changed. Thanks to Xylograph and the open Kang project team. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24732389&postcount=2060 for changes
Put ICS folder to root of sd card as usual.
There is no data.ext4 included, as a fresh install is recommended.
If haret booting, change startup.txt/data.size to whatever you like.
If magldr- default is 512mb. Choose a clean data.ext4 from a previous build download if you want bigger, and put in ics folder before first boot.
It is a "work in progress" and a few things might not work.
WIFI, BT and data are working.
google restore apps is working for the first time for me.
Both versions with dorimanx 6.4c kernel.
GPS is not working with both normal and superRAM builds
Anything else-You tell us

Add meta_inf and system folders inside ics/root , swap Zimage file and reboot. After rebooting check that system and meta_inf have been deleted from ics/root , else the kernel will be re-installed next boot. You may want to backup data.ext4 before changing kernel. Or keep a backup of system.ext4 and zimage files. Because kernel files are added to system.ext4, if you get any problem after flashing kernel, just replace backed-up system.ext4 and zimage then all should be back to normal.
For those few having problems with file manager saying sdcard not mounted, when using dorimanx kernels, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24531002&postcount=1095, nice one kuzibri
ibnoor reported loss of wifi after upgrading v11superRAM(6.3) to 6.4b, take care.

CM10 "Jelly Bean" for
Nook Tablet
Alpha 0.08.3 Release
“Seriously, Don’t Try To Sell This... You’ll Really, REALLY Regret It” Edition
Hey all,
So once again it’s time. Introducing the first alpha development preview of CyanogenMod 10 (based on Jelly bean) for the BN Nook Tablet, aka codename: “acclaim”. This preview for the internal “emmc” storage is intended only for developers as it is in a very early development stage and not all features of the device are fully working.
Let’s emphasize that-- THIS IS AN ALPHA, RELEASED FOR YOU TO PLAY WITH AND GET A SENSE OF WHAT’S TO COME. AND SOME THINGS DON’T WORK. REALLY. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING ANYTHING CLOSE TO PERFECTION, WALK AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER, LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR AN HOUR OR SO, THEN COME BACK. MORE EXCITING DISCLAIMERS/WARNINGS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS CAN BE FOUND BELOW. READ THEM.
Also...
If you have troubles and post to this form, please indicate if you use 16GB (1GB RAM) or 8GB (512 MB RAM) model.
WHAT WORKS
3.0 kernel (mostly works, thx to Kuzma)
display
touchscreen
new “CyanoBoot” menu bootloader (thanks to rebellos for most recent enhancements)
accelerometer
data statistics
additional kernel tweaks/improvements/history
bootcount/battery updates & other acclaim peculiarities addressed
sound
video acceleration
hwcomposition
microphone (does it still crash kernel?)
WHAT DOESN’T WORK
- crashes (random reboots - less frequent though)
- battery drain (got also somewhat better)
SUPPORT
You get none. Zero. Zip. We obligate ourselves to providing nothing further. You are on your own and will have to help each other via this thread. This is provided “as-is”, and if you don’t like it... there is always stock and CM7.
We basically lack time to give full dedication to this rom, and we’re looking for skilled devs who know the OMAP4 platform, Android, and/or other things that might be relevant.
Please join us on IRC: some people are on #nook-tablet (freenode).
BUG REPORTS
This is the format for a bug report: “XXXXX isn’t working. Here is how to fix it: [INCLUDE SOLUTION]” Don’t have source? Too bad. You’ll have to wait then.
If you report bugs, please don’t be disappointed if we can’t fix them immediately (or even never). It’s not because we don’t care, but because we don’t have time or don’t know how to fix it.
NOTE: DEVELOPERS WANTED. Please contact us if you are a developer with something to contribute.
INSTALLATION:
Prepare a “bootable” clockworkmod (CWM) recovery SD. There are instructions for doing this in other threads on XDA.
Download a recovery.img (e.g. from CM9) and the update.zip files at the end of this post to your computer from the link below.
Boot into a recovery SD for acclaim and use it to install the update.zip file. Warning: It should overwrite the contents of your emmc, including the stock installation or other operating systems.
From ClockworkMod. perform CWM wipe data and cache (or “restore factory settings”) to clear previous content from those partitions. Again, you will be erasing anything you had on those partitions.
Remove the SD card and select the reboot option. You should now boot into CM10.
At this point, Fattire’s CyanoBoot bootloader can be used to flash recovery.img to the internal mmc.
To install CWM to emmc, download the recovery.img file from CM9 thread and do the following:
Download and install fastboot for your computer’s operating system.
Boot the device and hold the “n” key to get into the cyanoboot menu
From the menu, choose “Enable Fastboot”
On your computer, run: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
EMMC? IS THERE AN SD VERSION?
Of course it won’t be hard to do, but don’t look for an SD bootable version from us any time soon. EMMC is our thing, dig?
RETURNING TO STOCK (THEORETICAL-- THIS MAY NOT WORK)
If you have installed above rom and the CWM recovery and you really hate it and want to go back to stock, you may wish to try to flash the original acclaim_update.zip from BN. You have to unzip that file and edit META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Drop the first two lines here:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "blaze" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "blaze");
Zip the package again. Then go to CWM, flash the zip, wipe, and reboot.
THANKS TO...
chrmhoffmann, hashcode, kuzma, fattire, rebellos, mik_os, nemith, Texas Instruments, BN, and so many others, especially those who helped test cyanoboot.
A special shout out to Bauwks is also in order, who defeated the malevelant locked bootloader with some serious geniusness.

It doesn't fix video as the ducati stuff doesn't work. But it fixes audio. Thanks!
To fix audio move attached file to /system/etc:
adb push media_codecs.xml /system/etc/
I believe it random reboots after sleeping for a while. Though to keep it alive, I set the display to go off in 30 min. I use WakeLock also.
The fix to enable chrome and whatnot as described in this post isn't included. Adding that line to your build.prop should enable those apps.
you're awesome guys ...

I am not sure what is the intention of your post.
a) If it is a "bug report", you are missing a lot of information...like logs, etc. Let me quote the OP: "This is the format for a bug report: “XXXXX isn’t working. Here is how to fix it: [INCLUDE SOLUTION]” Don’t have source? Too bad. You’ll have to wait then."
b) If you are just looking for support, well then: "You get none. Zero. Zip. We obligate ourselves to providing nothing further."
Please remember, this is a DEVELOPMENT thread, please treat it as such and instead of making posts as this, refer yourself to the Q&A forum, or the General section to post on an existing topic, or make your own topic with questions and/or support related topics.
I'm sure not only I would thank you for that!

[DEV] CyanogenMod 10.1 Galaxy5 Port [androidarmv6]

CyanogenMod 10.1 Galaxy 5 Port [psyke83] [androidarmv6]
Current port status: release candidate - suitable for daily use, but you should read the ROM Status before deciding if you want to use this ROM.
Latest release: 20130117 [v0.2] <--- this link is not broken... learn what "RTFM" means
Latest Google Apps package: gapps-jb42-20121130-psyke83-v1 <--- only use this version, as the standard Google Apps packages will not fit on our device. Do not attempt to use any other version.
Want to help with development? Contribute Galaxy5Parts translations for your native language to be used in upcoming releases. See DSM_'s Galaxy5Parts thread for more details. Many thanks to DSM_ for his work, and thank you in advance for all who contribute.
Hey folks,
This is a port of CyanogenMod 10.1 [androidarmv6 fork], a community-developed Android ROM based on Jelly Bean 4.2.1, for the Samsung Galaxy 5 (GT-I5500/GT-I5500L/GT-I550M/GT-I5503/GT-I5508/Europa) series phones.
Pre-requisites:
Visit the Basebands thread, and make sure that you are using a baseband that is compatible with CyanogenMod. If you are still using an Eclair ROM, you must update your baseband or you will experience boot loops.
Visit the ClockworkMod thread and install the latest ClockworkMod build via Odin.
[Optional] Install MAD Manager or GooManager from the Google Play store.
Installation:
Download the latest release as well as the latest gapps-jb42 package from MAD Manager, GooManager or via PC using the links at the bottom of this post.
Once the files have been downloaded/transferred to your phone's SD card, reboot into recovery.
Important: if you are updating from a stock ROM, CM7, CM9, CM10 or any other ROM that is not my own CM10.1 build, you are recommended to perform a data wipe. I will not offer support or guarantee a stable ROM if you ignore this step.
Install the update package, followed by the Google Apps package, and then reboot.
Releases / changelog:
20130617 [v0.2]

20130601 [v0.1]
md5: 0b1d6fae21f50928dd55f25fc078f7fa
ROM status: all hardware & major features working (see ROM Status post for more details)
ROM issues (unconfirmed): there may be a possibility of a bootloop on second reboot if you do not enable USB debugging. I need more time to verify. In the meantime, keep it enabled to be safe. Go to Settings -> About phone -> Build number (press repeatedly) to unlock the hidden developer menus.
ROM issues (minor): kernel USB driver uses product id for Galaxy S, which may cause some confusion in Windows applications; USB mass storage mode may be slower than before; zRam causes system instability and should not be used.
First build of CyanogenMod 10.1 (androidarmv6 fork)
Adapted galaxy5 source into shared Samsung repositories
Updated to kernel 2.6.37.6

CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM Status - updated 17/01/2013 for v0.2
Should I use this ROM?
Consider the following:
Jelly Bean's minimum requirements are 512MB of RAM, a 256MB /system partition and an 800Mhz CPU. Our device has 256MB of RAM (181MB usable), a 175MB /system partition, and the CPU can only run up to 768Mhz (when overclocked) at most. You must accept that you are running a version of Android that has higher demands than your phone can satisfy (meaning: it can lag).
Due to the small /system size, some features of the ROM have been removed, including the Video Editor, Live Wallpapers, as well as some Jelly Bean ringtones, wallpapers and optional fonts. There is simply no space to accommodate everything on our device.
The ROM is still not well-tested and may have some odd bugs.
If you're willing to accept these issues, then this ROM may suit you well. Otherwise, I recommend that you stay with a lighter ROM, such as Gingerbread.
Working:
2D & 3D acceleration with triple-buffering (Butter UI)
Audio (attenuation & extamp support included, FM support not yet implemented)
Bluetooth
Bluetooth tethering
Camera & camcorder
Fake dual-touch (optional)
Galaxy5Parts (Settings -> Device -> Advanced)
GPS
Hardware-accelerated video encoding/decoding (OMX)
Headset
Lights
Sensors
Telephony (calling, mobiledata & messaging)
Touchscreen (fake dual-touch also available)
USB Mass Storage
USB tethering
WiFi
zRam
Partially working/minor issues:
Intermittent lag. If your phone starts to feel unresponsive, hass visual stuttering or unusual battery draining, this may be due to a bug where NetlinkEvent constantly spams "Got a short RTM_NEWLINK message". This bug can occur at random times, and you can verify by looking at your logcat output to see if this error is occurring. As a workaround, run "stop netd; start netd" in a root shell to clear the problem. I will try to isolate the cause and solution to this problem for the next release.
USB drivers: the kernel in this release uses backported 3.0 USB drivers from the Galaxy S. As a side effect, the phone will use Galaxy S drivers (but the device name shown as GT-I5500 correctly). I will try to see if this can be better solved later.
WiFi tethering - WPA-PSK2 encryption may not work correctly; open and WPA-PSK encryption works fine.
Not working:
Nothing (?)
Reserved II
Market crashes (3.10.10 I think) but the RAM and the ROM works good, thank you:beer:

10 days with the rom:
Used Trebuchet until 6 days - okay and had no problems according to the launcher.
Used in the last four days New Launcher - Much more fluid compared to trebuchet, at least for me.
Using frequency max 729 and 480 min
Used manager Ondemand
Used I / O VR
Transparency 16 bit
Some had problems with receiving calls, it has not happened to me, Messaging - Send and Receive = Normal
Call - Made and recebids = Normal and without any fault
I'm from Brazil upstate St. Paul
Using baseband BVJJP9 - Without any problems
3G also worked at the CM7, both in the browser and in the applications and Play Store, no problems with that.
Hopefully with these few words that were afraid of using up can be encouraged.

Help on STK.apk
hi there i already try the CM10.1 for a week now, what i noticed is that the STK.apk(Sim Toolkit)
does not appear on the phone, i already copy & backup the STK.apk on System/apps and try to install it but no luck,
i uninstall it using the root explorer and download the new STK.apk on some Appszoom,
then i install it and it says "App not Installed An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed"

You can try the new theme by leather.face and also his tweak script for this ROM.
How to flash:
Before flashing I urge you to backup the device and the internal sd card, just in case, this is a non wipe ROM. Also be aware that if you restore the device to default factory settings it will erase your internal card!
Shutdown device.
Put your device into Download mode is by pressing "Volume Down"+"Home"+Power Button" and then after the menu shows, "Volume Up"
Connect device to the pc.
Unrar the downloaded package,
Launch Odin, select "PDA" and then browse and select the ROM file, press "Start"... You're done !!
After the first boot you must reboot the device.
Enjoy once again, and don't forget to say thanks

Lot's of Thanks to leather.face and faria for providing help and tips for building the rom!!!
Without their help i would never accomplished this rom!!!
Thanks once again!
Hi infected_, thanks for your work here and I`m happy for this rooted rom. Keep it up.
Greeting Leather.
Whats the difference to faria's rom?
I have a question
Hello!
My Mini has now the avicohh´s XXALL2 rooted, heavily lightened removing a lot of bloatware (Samsung Apps...) using Titanium BackUp. What happens if I flash your XXMA1 if I don´t wipe it? Bloatware will be installed again?
Thank you!

Info!
Hi, infected_ wrote in the first post you can activate my tweak batchscript under this rom. This is not correct. When you activate the V6 120MB LMK in my batchscript then you have not the proper build.prop in your device. The build.prop in my batchscript is only compatible for the faria rom. I work again in the next night without sleep and I can post my theme for 2 versions. Before I post I test it on my device. I wish a nice evening.
Regards leather.

My MIUI source code:
If you want to help simple clone my git source code and upload to your git, than start patching, but you must open these source code public and you can not open new thread with rom based on my source code! Instead you can help here for finishing this rom! Do not forget, I opened source code public and sharing it with you because its my good will !!! Do not use my hard work to present it as work by you by opening new thread! Thanks!
