What kernel did you use for this? Cus I had flashed the one on the I9100 forum around an hour ago and it booted up fine, but then when I hellraised AJK and STI kernels both didn't work (and yes, I used the AOSP version).

Oh alright, if it's the official MIUI kernel then it should be great. I just see "CM" in the kernel title and assume it's slow lol. Haven't had very performance oriented experiences with CM kernel in the past. Appreciate the port and smart thinking. I'll be daily driving this probably for the next month or so unless I encounter problems. Looking forward to updates
Will follow up with any bugs

Mines been working fine! I actually have had from what I can tell, better than average battery life. Haven't been on a MIUI rom since mid-ICS but the battery life definitely seems better. I'd say it's at least no par with TW roms so far. I didn't have to do any tweaks or anything though, so might've been a janky install for you. Not sure.
I'll admit, I'm very picky when it comes to performance, but I have noticed a few situations where the UI will lag (quick scrolling, animation following quick scroll, etc.) but it's probably cus of the early development. Whenever STI Kernel updates to include this (if it does - I'm assuming he will) I'll flash that, and it'll probably help with those situations. It's nothing that annoys me so far

Hahah you're pickier than me man. V4 pissed me off too much for me to go back to it. It took them literally until the end of it's development to get it from being irritable. Performance was so bad in terms of general fluidity. It was probably because it was built on Samsung base for the first time, I'm assuming. cMIUI was the only bearable V4 I had found. Although Asnet is pretty good now, but now V5 is out lol.
I'm gonna try the Deutsch/English build again (Remove all the bloat that guy put in....like 20 apps). The english in this version is very crudely done. Voice assistant is still chinese, various things in chinese, my texts on lock screen are European time format, etc. German/English one has better english/formatting. Do you mind uploading the kernel you used for this?

Just to let you know that there is a kernel that you can use with this ROM. It is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592228. This is for a 4.1.2 ROM and works and allows overclocking and such.

You're talking bout the notch in the top left corner? Seems good enough to me. Try taking off "rounded corners" which is under developer settings.

I just realized that turning off rounded corners only works for certain things like the home screen status bar, and apps like facebook, etc. It does not change the settings menu, or messaging, etc. So you might have to deal with the weird looking dpi. Or stick with default

[ROM] HyperSense Nova (Sense 1.9|GB v2.3.3) [May 3rd 2013]

First thing to say is "THANKS TO ALL THE BRILLIANT DEVS HERE @ XDA!!!" Without their effort I think that I would never had a personal ROM
A special thanks goes to dbasabe with his GOOD work with the Sense kernel !!
--> This is my SECOND personal ROM and I'd like to share with you guys!
--> I have tested this thing for 3 months!! I have improved it every day and NOW I'm ready to know what people think about this!

What users said about this ROM
race55
"I have used it for 1 day, and i think it really is amazingly fast! I'm going to use this as my Daily Driver until there is a sense 4.0 port! Really amazing!"
Javimoran
"Whoao, this Rom is simply......perfect!, the smoothest and the fastest rom with sense I've ever seen, well done iperzampem0, well done."
jacker
I just wanted to say thanks for all the great work you guys have put into making this rom so awesome.
I installed it last week and its by far the fastest sense rom I have ever used.
So far I haven't run into any trouble with anything and I intend on keeping it as my daily driver."
P00r
Solid ROM! one of the best choice as daily runner and very fast, had never tried sense before due to concern about speed but it seem I was very wrong!
Only feature I miss from an ICS rom is the fastcharge feature but on the other end I need more a fully working phone with camera than a fast charge
I fixed the GPS APN with "faster fix" on the market, no need to flash anything, it just change the apn using root right...
nachopre
This is awesome. The best rom i have ever seen.
Thanks a lot.
You have given me more time to spend with my Nexus One.

REQUIREMENTS:
Make sure you have HBOOT v0.35.0017!!!
If you are on v0.33 then UPDATE instantly to v0.35.0017 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Upgrading_Hboot)!
=> To install this NAND rom you MUST UPDATE your HBOOT with Blackrose first, so go -HERE- !
1) Latest Radio: 5.12.00.08
2) Latest HBOOT: BLACKROSE Custom HBOOT from "dla5244" dev.
As I said, follow the link above for the LATEST version and for instructions on how to install.
=> Partition Layout required for this rom is even less than previous HyperSense Nova: 190mb System, 10mb Cache, 236mb Data
3) WIPED ext4 partition (for APP2SD), I suggest 1gb ext4!
4) Recovery: I suggest you to use 4EXT Recovery Classic! One valid alternative is Amon-RA recovery.
5) IMPORTANT: WIPE ALL (DATA, SYSTEM, BOOT, CACHE, DALVIK-CACHE, SD-EXT) 3 TIMES!

Tricks:
1) Trackball Alert works now, but it's limited to few colors depending on apps, so I suggest you to install the LightFlow app from the Play Store!
2) If you have something like this "Cannot make outgoing calls using the latest Rom. I only hear some electric noise.", then you have to edit the following line of code into the build.prop file (located into /system/ folder):
ro.ril.enable.amr.wideband = 1
Change it to zero, so it should look like this:
ro.ril.enable.amr.wideband = 0
Save it, then reboot.
3) To reduce lag from Android, please use the new Seeder app (it's free and from XDA)!

But... How would one go ahead and remove the %Battery icon? Im sorta not so interested in reading precentage, and rather have a really simple icon . The new download method is fast (~6 min)! Glad to see a Hypersense 2!

Very smooth and nice rom, almost everything is working fine, unfortunatelly Im one of the unlucky people with power button broken, so I need the trackball wake.
I've tried some hacks in this rom, but none of them have worked (yet). I have a maintenance window tonight, when I came back, I'll try another ones I have here and report if some of them works fine.
Trackball wake will probably never work on GB Sense best bet is volume wake if you don't want to open the phone.

Nah, I don't remember now but there's some gb roms that have this option (even for desire), the problem is: Frameworks differs from sense to sense. For example, a trackball wake for DesireS doesn't work in DesireHD, etc.
You know the code 4 trackball wake in desire framework?

My knowledge with those internals are very limited, I know you need to edit android-policy.jar in some way (and in some cases, you need to mess with libui.so too)

I don't remember all of them, i've tried to port lots of other trackball wake from other roms. The major part of them I found here and in modaco forums. Btw, it's useless, since none of them worked, even in this rom (I've tried some now, none of them seems to work). We need someone with good knowledge with java and sense framework, and this "someone" isn't me.

Bugs :
- Statusbar trackingview (the bottom part and background of expanded statusbar) doesn't resize like the top part of expanded statbar and its contents when it's in landscape mode.
- Some lockscreens doesn't resize according to screen's lcd density. They only look nicely at 200 dpi. Well, LCD density changing is NOT officially supported. So please tell me which dpi suits NC the best
- Boot animation and shutdown animation looks crappy
- Sense lockscreen is buggy (well, it's still beta, I mean the sense lockscreen)
- Tell me.

Have you done a factory reset/full wipe of /data and /cache before flashing this ROM? If not, you can try it now. And if it still doesn't boot, can you please upload the logcat? And also what ROM did you use before this?
I'm sure I've wrote in the first post that you need to do a full wipe before flashing this rom (well, after flashing will do just fine too) and it has to be gingerbread or above before flashing
I guess I just had a bad flash. But this ROM is cool. Its like AOKP, but based off CM7.2. The UI is as close to ICS as GB can get. The performance is on par to mirage. The settings can get a little confusing. There's a lot of UI tweaks. ICS Navigation bar. Pie Navigation. I like it. I like the DPI at stock. The default Make's it seem to big. The ICS navigation bar icons are blurry. But outside that everything is perfect.

Yeah the icons are blurry, because they were made for 480x800 while NC is 600x1024. I'll resize them later.
And by stock do you mean 160 or 240? Well, I got my NC from my uncle, It was already flashed to CM7 with 160 dpi as default. So I don't know how it was on the stock ROM ._.
Anyway, for better 3d performance, please remove "0 0 android" line from /system/lib/egl/egl.cfg
Be sure to leave an empty line and don't touch the powervr line.
Or just flash the flashable zip I attached at the first post.

Yes, as what I wrote in the first post. It's based on CM7.2, so it's gingerbread, with ICS/JB feel (well, not completely but it's enough for me )
I like this ROM. I'm shaving very little issues. Most issues are related to the UI tweaks, but that expected.
This is ny new DD until CM10.1 gets fast enough for me.

I would recommend using the latest MiRaGe kernel regardless of KSM. We tried KSM with CM7 and found that it is useless with Gingerbread.

Just useless without modifications in dalvik-vm. The simple modifications we tested in dalvik-vm were too simple and made the system worse. My conclusion is that full Android 4.0+ code base is necessary/ideal to use KSM.

Wait, shouldn't there be no problem if the kernel does support it but it's deactivated? It's deactivated by default anyway, so users can choose to use it or not. The reason why I still put it in the ROM though it's useless is just because I want to bring the full feature of the ROM.
Edit : Alright, I get it. Too much feature, specially the unused ones will only slow down the kernel, right? Thanks

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP but now OMNI-ROM, brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....

Yeah, the "torch" application isn't there, and the lock screen shortcuts for it don't work. You can install a 3rd.party and works fine though.
ROM isn't suffering from reboots on my phone. It is running freaking awesome . I'd suggest flashing rom and let it settle for ~15 min, then reboot and flash gapps if you run into any problems at first.

VoIP
A bit of a random question but i've read that VoIP has not worked or not worked right since mid dec on all KK rom's. That being said i was wondering if it is known as a CM problem or a actual KK problem. Reason i'm asking is cause of this being mostly Omni based would that possibly make a difference.
I will try to download and flash tonight and post back on VoIP testing, and anything else i can try to dig up between now and then.

Voip?? Try Google Voice!
Well if this ROM downloads Google voice and voice+ it will work just, activate Google voice and voice+ and you can call and receive and send texts with your google voice number if it doesn't have voice+, just download voice, GV integration and busy box apps and you will have voip with your google voice number! Works for me with any phone or rom Ive tried it on!!

5. None of this would be possible for our aging device without the hard work of one Mr. @ktempleton

hey patch so I just flashed n installed the newest update and the 4 keys are lighted and won't turn off (waaaaa!!!!) I installed fresh even did superwipe xt before I flashed rom....I installed ud_quincyatt_20140225-2110.zip unless that's the wrong one lol but I click on latest and that's what it gives me....is there a way to turn them off from Dirty Tweaks Menu? one thing is i'm loving the Dirty Tweaks Menu it's got a lot of things gravity box has....if it doesn't have that option then i'll just install GB and turn them off....thanks for the rom patch....a new rom to test and report!!

Well that's really weird but as we all know.....every phone reacts a little differently to different roms.....and no, no option in dirty tweaks......I guess you'll have to use gravity box. You could also re download and wipe really clean and re flash....hope it pans out though!

So I love SlimRom, and all I really wanted to do was build it to go faster. Weeklies from Slim come out on Sundays, and I'll be realising my weeklies a few days later. I want to test stability before I give it to you. Anyways, I'm not responsible for what you do to your phone  , and do a nandroid backup, because if you don't, you're stupid.

Media fire sucks.
Edit..didn't ask for password second time around..lol.
On a side note..like the gapps package links..some new ones I haven't tried. Thanks.

At a glance...
Fast boot..which I've come to expect from almost all slim builds.
Been awhile since I used slim..forgot about the DPI difference. Might be worth noting in the op.
No theme support..again, been awhile..lol
Super Smooth transitions, fast responsive browser
I think I would run this as a daily..just from initial look. But I must have theme support and I would also have to change the DPI..but that would be easy enough.
All in all..nice build. I'll stick around and see how it develops..but for right now I'm going to give you're aokp a swing.:good:

I was thinking of changing the dpi from 182 to 210 but wasn't sure if users would want that, so I'll make a note of it in the op. thanks for the tip. i honestly don't think any slim builds will get theme engine, users have been requesting that for ages and hasn't happened.
what recovery and version is everyone using to flash this?

This is a very nice Rom and I plan on using as my daily. How could I go about changing the DPI? I will do research on this very topic, but figured I'd ask since you said it'd be simple. I would appreciate your help. Thanks, even though I know this isn't your rom.

+1 what peterson65 said. the way i do it is via "root explorer" (the app) navigate to system change permission to r/w open up build.prop and look for "ro.sf.lcd_density=182" and just change 182 to what ever like (320 is stock), save after making the edit and reboot to see it the change sticks.

Hey, I flashed this ROM today. Very nice looking and feeling, but I'm having one major issue. When I go to unlock my phone (hit the power button to turn the screen on), the screen doesn't turn on. The button is working. The capacitive buttons under the screen light up, but the actual screen doesn't turn on. I have to hit the power button 2-5 more times.
Anyone know what is up and how to fix it?

Where are those option in this ROM? I can't seem to find them.
Also, why isn't Google Hangouts compatible with this?

you need to use an app to raise cpu speeds this rom doesn't have that feature built in, I'm using "setcpu". what do you mean not compatible? i just installed it fine, if you obtained it from gapps that might be why.

Installing SetCPU now. I'll let you know if that works. For Hangouts, it wasn't in Gapps. I'm trying to get it from play store, but it says incompatible.
not sure why it would say that but try clearing play store data and try again.

Cleared Store data. Same thing. Also tells me it's incompatible when I check from the desktop web Play Store.
Also, I don't seem to have root? I thought that any custom ROM would automatically have root access. What do I need to do to get Root so I can use SetCPU?
Thanks for all the help!
Thank you so much for continuing to build for our notes. Appreciate it very much! I love my note, and hate to give it up. . Be a few days before I'm able to load this, but when I do....
