[ROM][WIP]FirefoxOS - Android Development on Bada

Hello there!
I've made a firefoxos on the day 27 December.
I've faced set perm 7 on a few files.
Now I'm fixing it.
New upload soon.
code.google.com/p/tizen-kernel-s8500
It has the oldest file. it will be there more files.
Using this updater-script on my beta1 at code.google.com it's giving set perm 7.
How can i bypass it on set perms?
I'm building a new wip.
Using my forks at github.com/vic3t3chn0
Thanks a lot!

will it be on wave 2 also ?

It will for wave 2 also

cool thanks man .... this year is very promessing : firefox OS and android almost complete

I looked zip its T old rom.Look to build.prop.
And if you REAL compile it it doesnt gives setperm

I figured out that I did not give setperm.
I decided to whole links from my builds and told it here.
It's too old I know. New build making now.
I really compiled it because it's my google code repo even my github.

yep
Script. It's spelled "script"!!! j/k
Look up the kitchen on here. It does that as one of the features and does it very well. I believe it was called just "kitchen". I may have the name a little off but hopefully this get you going. Also, it's main purpose is building roms, etc, but it does do the feature you need!

You can't just put the zip file in original_update. Kitchen has to be configured for your device, or it will not work. I'd like to know how to do that as well.

OK then, if it isn't necessary to configure the kitchen for your device, then how can you make it work with your device? I am just a NOOB, let's make that perfectly clear. However, I followed the directions to the letter, and read up on the kitchen before trying it. I had no success using the kitchen to create a rom that I could successfully flash.
I thought that I would have to do something with the edify defs files first, adding my device before it would work. I just never got that far yet (I only play with this part time, when I have a chance to do so.) If I don't have to add my device, and you have some idea what I may have done wrong, please enlighten me. I obviously need the help. Thanks!

You put any custom ROM for your device in there, configure it for that file (meaning that show it the file you're working on), replace it's system folder with the stock deodexed system folder.
Now, you're ready. Do your modifications. Add features. Build. Zip
Now, the important part.
Kitchen updater-script doesn't work on our device in some case. Use any custom ROM updater-script (with permission and credit), and voila!
There is a complete guide on it in Development section too.

I have tried the kitchen with my phone before, (LG Spectrum/VS920), and the ROMS generated by it will not work. It has something to do with the "edify defs" file I believe. I read it somewhere before in these forums. If your device isn't supported, it has to be added, or at least that's what I've come to understand. If someone can point me in the right directrion (adding my phone so it is supported by the kitchen), I'd appreciate it greatly.

I think, if have all necessary files, you need to compile a project from android studio.
There are several topics that will help you.

From the way you worded it it sounds more like you have a decompiled apk, not the source code for the apk. Depending on what you want to edit you may need the actual source code to make the changes. What are you trying to do?

What you are trying to do is considered cracking an app which makes it warez. This is banned on this site. You will find no help doing what you want. As for decompiling and recompiling an apk there are tut all over the site. Search and you fill find what you need. But take this as your warning. Asking for help cracking the app will get you banned. Take this as your only warning.

Could you please send me the source code too? If I can verify that it works safely and well, I can go ahead and recommend this post in my Bootloop fix guide .
Edit: The OP has not given me the source yet, however I went ahead and checked the file myself. The MD5 checksums of the modified 4 core files in the zip are identical to the ones I posted, so that's good. I decompiled the exe in dotPeek, and I found no malicious code in it, however, my knowledge of C and dissembling is limited, so that does not mean this file is guaranteed to be safe. But I doubt that this is malicious.
Unfortunately, this file has old files from before the core utilization fix, so I wouldn't recommend using it just for the reason that your device will be very slow. This has great potential though, and if OP maintains it, it could be very viable.
This post has actually inspired me to make a similar program, as many people could benefit from this, and I want to learn C as well, so a project like this would be a great start for me.

Hey, super excited to try this, as I've been having some issues with the original fix.
For some reason, I get to "is you phone in recovery mode" (Y) and then the application closes. any thoughts?
So far all the "fixing methodes" did nothing....only twrp I was able to run on my nexus6p....I'd like to try this method too but I can't download the files.....I don't use google drive...the browser is trying to download but after 2 seconds....error...?

Knock code for nougat

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone with the expertise would know how to compile a module that was made for marshmallow to bring it to nougat. Sadly the developer has abandoned the project and closed the xda thread, while not responding to messages.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/lp-knock-code-screen-t3272679
that is the module in question. I have tried to decompile the apk and recompile after making a few changes, however it just worsened the case.

Any chance you cloned its git repo? Not only he won't answer any message but he had the incredibly selfish-prick act of deleting the git repo for Knock code so no one can work on it!

Yep, that is the main reason I haven't been able to work on it myself. Nor am i good enough to reverse engineer the apk.
Here you have the source code.
I haven't the ability to work on it for myself and it would be safer if someone more capable would do it, but at least i gave you the source code and hope it'a useful.
I would recommend you as well to open a new thread with the source code link on first page to get more people to work on it and hope we can get the knock code back.
Big ups, tell me if it was helpful.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bDILNuiQSCIOx2BXDGxpagGf6UeoerbJ/view?usp=drivesdk
Edit: remember this is a non-flashable zip, in case you were wondering, it's the apk just decompiled, unzip it and inside you have the whole amount of java files that contain the source code
You will need an app able to unzip files and read java files.
Otherwise download it to your computer (recommended)
