Trade my Note 2 for T-Mobile HTC One? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I've had my Note 2 since Dec and even though it's been great I really hate the design of the phone. I'm wondering how much the values of the devices will differ at the time of the HTC One's release on T-Mobile USA and if I can do a trade with someone without adding any extra $$$ because they are comparable phones. Thoughts?

Only a very stupid would trade u HTC one for a note 2 I just sold a note 2 on Craiglist but it was brand new in the box for 500 buck

Simple, try out the HTC one in store & if you like it buy it.

Would be an idiot to swap without cash on top.

Well I was mostly asking in terms of values for both devices. I definitely would like an HTC One over my Note 2, no doubt about that. I was just wondering what the value of the Note 2 compared to the One would be. I can't find any sort of indication of whether or not I could do a direct trade with someone without me adding any cash.

I literally can't because all the HTC One's on the market are international versions that don't represent what the prices will be once it is finally released

Or instead of trying to find someone to trade you an HTC One for a Note 2 you could sell your Note 2 and use that money to buy an HTC One? :victory:

I would just buy the One and compare the 2 phones side by side and decide which one to keep.

Sold my note 2 last week for €425, paid €579 for the One

If you come in an HTC forum and make such a question, your answer will always be YES.
So as you already got your answer and the thread isn't device specific, its now closed.

Rezound users pre ordering gs3

Just curious if anybody was pre ordering the galaxy s3 so as to take advantage of the last opportunity to upgrade with subsidized pricing with out being shoehorned out of your unlimited data plan Sent from my high res rez using Tapatalk 2
Nope...not 1 user is going to pre-order.
If it were me honestly I would upgrade to an iPhone 4S and sell it for $500+ unopened and keep my Rezound.
I will if they let me pre order 7 months earlier than my scheduled upgrade date, haha

I'm going to pre order it and sell it unopened for $700, that it's projected value should be. Doesn't make sense to buy a 9 monthold phone and sell it for less than the gs3.

why would it sell for 700 when you can just buy it without contract for 599. But Im thinking about buying one, seems like all the rezound devs are leaving, and I get bored with nothing to flash lol.

You realize the full cost of the phone without subsidy is less than $700 right? You won't get more than $500-$550 for an unopened iPhone or GS3.
Who cares, this is not the GS3 forum...
Hi guys,
Sorry for oot (rather than i make a new thread),but i really need your input about rezound.
I'm planning to have one,but i have a little doubt on it.
I know that rezound has a high clock cpu but it is a bit outdated than S4 or omap 4460,will this perform well until years ahead?
I read somewhere in this forum that developers are leaving,is that true? (i'm a flashaholic)
Since cdma operator is cheaper than gsm,and i have not much option to choose a good cdma/global phone in here,so what do you guys thinking?
Really appreciate for your input.
Thanks

There are Sense 3.6 roms/ Sense 4.0 roms, a MIUI rom, and ROMs that attempt to de-sense as best they can and use Apex for an AOSP feel.
While it is true that we don't have many devs left, HTC should release the ICS kernel source and rumor has it that AOSP/AOKP/CM9 could get RIL working with the kernel source. I shouldn't get your hopes up too much for that happening though because the one person who said he would do that got mad and left. Whether he decides to release it is up to him.
I preordered it. I got my rezoned on my sisters line because she didn't order a phone for 2 years (serious). My line has been free since March. I'll keep which ever one I like more but if the GS3 battery is way better that will be enough.
I may. So much infighting, off topic, and red hot developer on developer action here, with few updates on the few remaining roms.
Then there's all the developers being pushed away by the negativity too.
I'm not saying it won't be any different on the other phones, but it should have a really big following.
I was hoping for CM9 months ago, to finally get all of my devices on one ROM, but that looks like it won't happen anytime soon.
I can afford it these days.
Love my Rezound though.

Yea not to mention our cdma phones' gsm international counterparts always sell for higher since there is a greater, international demand for them and they are not locked to the united states only for the most part. Anyone thinking they'll get more than $500 for this phone is dreaming. I don't care if its mint or unopened, I'd still rather get it from my initial order than second hand if I'm going to spend that money.

The S3 is massively inferior to the S4. How much it matters though, I dunno. The Rezound unfortunately is old news, and devving is petering out.
I ordered a GS3. Wanna use my upgrade before the 28th.
Already pre ordered. The rezound has been great but the S3 is so powerful... I can't wait to see what the developers can do!!

Forgot to add I'm buying it at subsidized price so I'll make around 500$ profit. Also I was gonna get the 32GB one so I rounded up. So if you wanna get technical $649.99--semantics my friend. Hopefully the phone gets sold out and brings up the price of the phone, too. Bet you anything that'll happen.
I may preorder as well haven't decided yet but probably just to use last upgrade before unlimited data ends and trade sgiii for something else down road

Probably not losing as much as you think. Plus if you buy all the accessories and S crap they'll be making bank $$. $200 for Rezound $130 for Nexus sounds legit loool.
I'm also skeptical about this, got email from samsung and decided to search on xda and here i am. For my rezound its 200, but they are also offering $135 for my Hero S. Is this legit?
$15 for my Fascinate. Wowza. $200 for the Rez wouldnt be bad if we could get the GSM Nexus from google, but it wouldn't do much good if still w/ Verizon.
Before you guys get all excited about this, you should go to the Verizon S III forums and read about the issues that phone has. Horrible signal reception, locked bootloader, as well as other issues.

Still doesn't solve the fact that Samsung has crap radios. I have my Droid Charge as a backup still and it is night and day in radios compared to HTC phones. Unless you go GSM, forget about it.

This is interesting...it appears Samsung is going for market penetration with the phone and trying to get as many people on the phone as they can, then allowing customers to sell to customers. Only downside I've heard is the signal quality, and even that I've only heard about on the forums. I can't tell you how many people I know have switched to the GS III. And every one of them is just giddy about their new GS III. This is people who previously couldn't care less about their phone, very non-technical. At least in my smallish circle, it's quickly becoming the iPhone of Android. Wonder if that's Samsung's plan...
Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy with my Rezound with no intention of changing. Just making an observation.

[Q] Would you recommend this phone to a loved one?

Hey fellow XDAers! I'm a Galaxy Nexus guy myself. my sister is on AT&T and asked me to recommend a phone. i am trying to keep the price down to the $100 mark. i saw this phone for $100 on contract. i loved my OG EVO and spec'ing this phone against the SGS3 it looks like a win for HTC, plus, the HTC model is newer and Sense IMO is better than TW. i've been out of the loop with HTC progress for a while and just wondered if you were generally pleased with your phone and would recommend it to a family member. this phone will likely never be rooted so the prospect of future (Official OTA) support is pretty important, i know you'd be guessing on that factor...

I never reccomend anything to anyone because that somehow activates some unspoken agreement that you are now their official IT guy if they have any future questions.
Otherwise, I love what I've made my One X+ capable of, however, out of the box, the only thing I would warn a perspective buyer about is the somewhat dreadful battery life.
Tegra 3 is a hog is you don't underclock\ undervolt\ bring cores offline.

as RQUIETT stated, yes this phone has its ups and downs as they all do.
I got my Infuse for 1 penny as a refurb and never had issue one with it. after Thanksgiving, I got my Note and 2 S3's for under $100, also refurbs.
well worth the money.
between contracts, data plans and need accessories and their availability, that's up to you. in my opinion, XDA is the one that keeps us current and keeps our Notes looking and feeling new and up to date
With the latest JB update, the phone is alot zippier. The hardware is still nowhere near the new phones, but it is more than enough for regular/daily use. And as mentioned before, there will be new updated ROMs to keep this phone going.
It sounds like OP is fine with the screen size, so if the price is reasonable (considering how old this phone is), I would recommend it.
Just note that the resale value might drop alot once the new Note 3 comes out later this year.
Ok thanks guys. I found it used. A family member will sell it to me for $150 and the note has no screen scratches and light scratches on the body. What do you guys think? Is it at a good price?

As the title suggests, OnePlus have announced that they wont ship to US or Canada for 3 weeks after they start in Europe due to "Production Schedules", Yet Europe shipments are unaffected? This makes no sense.
So in reality it will be a minimum of a Month before its even shipped if you got an invite today!

At this point, it'd be best to just wait to see what Google does with their upcoming Nexus devices.
If Huawei's influence on the phone is large, then we can expect the same sort of things we got with the OP2, but with the added benefit of Android M and NFC - possibly external storage too. LG might make a great phone too, who knows! At this point, OnePlus' invite system and delay is a farce.
I was genuinely interested but I just can't get over the horrible way they go about selling their phones. I'd rather wait the month or two to see what Google/LG/Huawei do with the nexus and go that route, although we're likely to see a shortage of nexus's as usual.
Agree. Let's wait and see the nexus 5.

Moto X is quite cool! Definitely being pushed in that direction in to buying one that is
2 reasons I won't get this device:
- They play too much, this invite system sucks and it is super hard to buy this phone unless you buy it from someone else costing +$300.
- I rather get a Nexus device, I will wait til October. Plus, I'm very interested in seeing how Android Pay will work, so I will need that NFC the OPT does not have.
