Hi all,
I'm encountering some problems when i'm trying to update my Hyundai T7S tablet to the official jelly bean 4.2 ROM.
I've the update from the Hyundai website (hyundai-digital .cn). This download comes in a .rar file. I knew it would be impossible, but tried anyway to flash this file from the SD-card. But to make it work this way, the update should be a .zip-file.
In the .rar file are 15 files, some of them are .bin and .img files. And I've not the knowledge what I can do with these files. Unfortunately the support guide of Hyundai can not be opened and two hours googling didn't help me out. So here's my question:
Is it possible to convert the .rar file into a .zip file and flesh this file? Or can I flash the rar-file in some way?

Extract all files in zip to SD card (ext.). Power OFF. Press Volume - and Power and update will start. Looks like you use Volume + not - witch takes you to recovery mode. When done tablet will turn OFF. Power ON and you should have new firmware.
You are talking about "HYUNDAI T7S-20130318" ?....if yes it is not 4.2 is still 4.0.4; If you found a most recent one (4.2), can you email me with download link please ?....I can't find 4.2 for T7(S). Thank you !

exactly. even though some sites advertise it as a 4.2 device, the latest available stable fw is still the 4.0.4 from the 18th of March.
I just tried exynos abuse 1.4 about 2 hours ago on my t7s and it worked like a charm.

from what i've read (some weeks ago): the main hyundai company has told that branch producing the tablets not to manufacture devices to be exported from china, so they're cutting the rest of the world off their official site --> you'll be able to reach the webpage via a chinese proxy (as if you're browsing from china).
about the update for which we're all waiting for: last time it was told to be released in 2013 june, so i still haven't given up yet. anyway: just search for "slatedroid" on the internet if you'd like to get updates about the tablet in english

Another possibility could be porting CyanogenMod OR buying a tablet to a developer. We already have CM for the same SoC, so I think about xplodwild or codeworkx, the two main i9300 maintainers

Well that'd then be the reason why the 4.2 ROM for the rest of the world is now available to download through MediaFire rather than an official Hyundai page.
For those who haven't found it yet, this post on the GeekBuying blog details the download and installation of the 4.2.2 upgrade.
I'm in the process of downloading the 222Mb archive now; going rather slow which is nothing new for MediaFire.

anyway: everyone can still reach the site (http://www.hyundai-digital.cn/download.asp?ClassID=1) via any chinese proxy and check out regularly if there's anything new announced (like the stable release for the 'plain' T7, which was uploaded earlier today.

It probably is the website of Hyundai Korea, not Hyundai China (maker of T7s).

Has anyone managed to root this T7s Android4.2.2 ? When I tried to root it , it returned an 'error' saying that this image is sort of immune to rooting. I tried with exynos root method.

hello my firends! Im a new android user, bought first android phone just week ago. I have Huawei U8500 and i think it's very new model and there are very few people who have it. There's no official 2.2 or 2.3 version so im looking for ROM. I think there is no ROMs for this model yet ? i was searching for few days... i understand russian a little bit so i found 2.2 version made by russian guy, i didn't tried it yet becouse i don't how to instal that so i dont know if it's with russian language or not, but fact is that there is 2.2 version for U8500 ! To install it:
1. Unrar it to your computer, and find a folder named "dload" with the biggest size.
2. Copy that "dload" folder to root of your SD card
3. turn off phone
4. Hold volume up key + end call (red) key and the press power key. Wait for it to load, it will say something like "Updating system" Wait for it to finish, if it says fail, just try again
5. After it says "Update complete" or "Update successful" just restart your phone and you'll have the new beta firmware.
6. Reboot can take about 5 minutes. Be patient.
Do it always while charging.
Highly recommend to back up the original firmware before installing new ROM's
On your own risk. You can brick your phone and you void your phones warranty.

The only way i can see the link to proceed to download is via google translate. And when i click it i get a 404.

You cant use google translate when clicking! Under the android guy pic, click where it says сюда, you then come to another site, just now click on a link on the page, that will take you to another page (the sponsor page), then you will se that it will start ticking the time in the top of the window, then after that you can click again and actually start the download....

Just wanted to say that this rom works awesome on my u8300.
It requires some tweaking. Change of lcd density etc. And the screen calibration isn't perfekt. But it's much faster than the stock rom so i'll stick with it.
Definetly worth a shot.
But according to a user on another forum there might be problems when you downgrade from a 8500 rom to the stock 8300. I haven't tested, so i can't really comment on that...

Do not buy the Cube U39GT-3G version of this tablet, I ordered one from http://www.cube-tablet.com and it came with a wrong IMEI number. I cannot use any SIM data card because of this with this tablet.
I bought the Wifi version, so I am not in danger. Thanks for the warning though, it certainly speaks of extremely crappy QA.

I was able to fix the IMEI issue, so it is safe to buy, again. The support from the vendor was not helpful, the wrong IMEI number is not only wrong for me but for all of the sold models. They all have 111111111111111 as IMEI number, no big deal with the MTK Droid Tools I was able to load a new IMEI, that was generated from an internet site. It works with the SIM cards now.
Important to know: the Cube 9 Talk with the 3G SIM card uses MediaTek MTK8389T CPU whereas the Cube 9 without the SIM card 3G feature uses a RockChip RK3188 CPU. The ROMs are not interchangeable.
So whatever issues you may have, it may be a completely different story for the person that owns the other chipset. Strange enough that Cube built two similar products with completely different hardware.

If you have donwloaded and unpacked the firmware, you may end up with chinese folder names. Flash tool did not accept the scatter file when I tried to select it using these folder names.
To resolve this: Simply create a new folder name and copy/paste the ROM of the Cube to the new folder, the update should then work with the Flashtool. I have used Version 3.1328.0.183. The update takes a while so be patient. Worked with mine.

Discontinued.. the rom seems to be of i8558 and not i8552...thanks for all those who tested it..
A guy on facebook pasted a link and was asking if v could c if its really 4.2.2 ... currently i cant download such a big file so can any1 of u can just check if its 4.2.2:laugh::good:

ps, googling "CHM-I8552ZMUAMK1" sent me in to some pages reporting it to be for GT-I8558, which officially has 4.2
EDIT: CHM-I8552ZMUAMK1 seems from China Mobile, where as there is another 4.2.2 version from India, which is INS-I8552XXANA5, downloading both now, will mirror in mega probably.

Good thinking, i tried to get the 8558 in samsung-updates.com but it didnt show up.
I'll download MG1 as well, seems newer then the leaked one, and as you can see on the MK1 multi package file names, they all have 8558 in the naming conventions.
is there any report for the phones having cross compatible roms? cause my phones name is Galaxy Win Duos (not quattro), but it shows 8552.

most of the devs seem CM or kernel oriented, i doubt we will ever see any port of this if it doesnt work out of the box.
anyway, im am downloading MG1, so dont bother flashing MK1, i will upload it ASAP at pcloud.

it is so hard to tell which one is the latest now, while replying the above posts, i've noticed that MK1 should be way above MG1, yet MG1 has a newer build date then MK1, where as the first firmware ever released was MI1, which means highest PDA value. WTF??? Check the attachment for the ROM order in sammobile.

According to Sammobile, MG1 is newer then MK1. Alphabetically it shouldnt, but MG1 is 2014 where as MK1 is 2013.

That's because it is, actually, NG1, not MG1. So it goes later.

EDIT 1: Odin refuses to flash the package of first post's link. The progress meter don't increase. I am downloading now an package of Sammobile to try again.
EDIT 2: The package of Sammobile was refused too. A CWM-flashable zip may work.
If someone create a flashable zip, I test. I don't know how to make one from stock rom.

I will try this, but I am not sure if it works. Android Kitchen can create a flashable zip, but it needs to be configured for our device and I don't know how to do it.

EDIT 1: I just prepared the zip, I'm going to flash it right now.
EDIT 2: Flashed it successfully, but didn't boot. I'm going to change the kernel to see if it works.
EDIT 3: Doesn't boot. The rom need to be ported.

As of now there is no official information on the release date of the next Android 4.4.2 for Galaxy Quattro(Gt-I8552) in India from Samsung and you will be notified by the Samsung website when/if the update is released.

Do you have any info about Android 5.0 (Lollipop) for our Honor/Mediapad X1 ?
I kinda would also love to know about Huawei updates, in my case for MediaPad M1. But wer are dealing with Huawei here (my first Android device ever was U8880...) and the X1 been only out since april 2014 and M1 since may 2014, making these devices barely 6 months old, i think tho, if we are not seeing official updates once the devices are ~1 year old, we aint gettin anything. As of now, my device has the stock firmware, that's Android 4.2.2 with EMUI 2.0 and not a single update available, at this point, even update to 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 with EMUI 2.3 or 3 would be friggin marvelous.

I came across one site that claims to have lollipop ROM.
Disclaimer: I have not downloaded or verified the same.

99% a hoax.
Few things gave it away:
1) It claimed to be from xda-developers, now I don't see any lollipop rom for X1 here, do u?
2) I don't think any rom for lollipop will be as small as 128MB, and in these days, I don't think any uploader will be splitting a 128MB file into 3 parts, unless ..
3) .. all he/she wants is for the potential downloader to complete as many surveys as possible! Any download that require one to complete a survey beforehand is usually shady.
Proceed with caution if you still wish to find out for yourself.

Please note that sometime ago Huawei declared a list of devices that would get Lollipop update. Mediapad X1 was not listed. So don't expect any upgrade to Lollipop for our device from the manufacturer.

Dear even if Huawei provide lollipop rom upgrade to x1, it is not going to make any difference. Have you watched videos of x2? There is no difference in the UI of X1 with Kitkat or X2 with Lollipop, as both have EMUI 3.x. IMHO the real joy of having Lollipop is with the stock experience and with tweaks added from CM.

I have a MatePad M5 Pro that is stuck on Android 8.
Model: CMR-W19
I don't care if it's official ROM or custom ROM. I would like to maintain the WidevineL1 and mpen and keyboard support.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Try downloading HiSense software onto a PC, then connect your Mediapad to the PC and it will check for updates, even if checking for updates on your Mediapad itself doesn't find any.
This worked for mine. I was stuck on 8 too, until HiSense found an update and did the update on my Mediapad, then the Mediapad was able to find further incremental updates itself.

Any idea which to use? There are a lot of different Android 9 builds.
And how do I sideload on this device? Sorry if that's a noob question. haven't had to do this for a number of years.
When you click on a version to download, it gives you full instructions on how to install.
You are best going up in stages.
Find the same version that you have currently installed, then download the next version number up.
They're all for the same device, but that is a list of every update that's been released.
So install the next version up from yours, then try searching for the next update manually on your device to see if it then triggers it to keep updating itself. If need, just keep running the updates by SD card method.

I'm not sure.
Mine did incremental (about 6 in total), even though the latest one was newest.
To be sure, you're best off going up in order.
Because it's fully stock and you're doing in the correct way, it will scan first, so any issues and it won't install - so nothing to lose.

Had a read through this thread to see if there was any chance of an Android Update for my device but from the answers given, I can't seem to find anything.
I'm using an M5 Pro 10.8 (CMR-L09 - Cellular) on 8.0.0.203 and the Huawei Updater site doesn't seem to have anything above this for my model.
If I was to look at installing an OTA for the likes of the CMR-W19, would this harm my device at all?
They're both Cellular, both 10.8". Only thing I can really see different is that they are 64GB and I'm 32GB.
Also, as a side question, I don't have a PC, what's the best way to download and install an update using the device itself?
I look forward to a reply!

In regards to the part of if it would be bad..
CMR-W19 is not an LTE model. So if you do successfully flash the ROM, not sure if you would have issues with LTE.

Would I use the OTA-MF or FULLOTA-MF?
CMR-AL19 (m5 Pro 64gb LTE) here. I'm on 8.0.0.199 Android 8.0 With July 19 Security patches. No Update available. Huawei support told me there is no newer version available for this Model.... I'm abit mad coz it's even the 'pro' Model..
