[Q] Google calendar not syncing with device

I have a strange problem where the events in my Google Calendar are not syncing with the stock calendar application.
There are one or two of the latest events that I have added, and these show up in both locations, but all previous events are nowhere to be seen.
When I click on a day in the calendar app I get two messages:
Google calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies. Use My calendar to sync with Kies - irrelevant, I do not use Kies.
Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. You need a google account - at which I go to the account and sync it. Nothing happens.
I can create an event in my Google calendar and it pops straight through as it should do, but none of the previous events and I keep getting these sync errors.
Please help, as it's giving me a headache.
Thanks.

Hmm ... that is not easy to solve.
I also had a similar issue with my Google calendar synch.
After installing a leaked version of Google Talk with Video chat (I think it was the one from paulobrien => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075494&highlight=modaco+talk), my Google account was deleted and I had to create it again.
Since then, I have no problem to synch my Google calendar entries.
Everything is fine now.
So, you may try to delete your Google account on your phone and re-install it again afterwards.
Good luck !

Android Facebook 1.9.3 App - Not Sync'ing Contacts

Just setup ICS on my Samsung Galaxy S2 and I've downloaded the Facebook app from the Play store. However, once installed, it never asked me as to which contacts I wanted to Sync. Within the app, I can't find the option anywhere either.
I un-installed the app and re-installed it and still no sign of any prompting to sync all contacts.
So as it stands, I've got all contacts sync'd from MS Exchange, Gmail, LinkedIn but no way will the Facebook contacts sync. It all worked perfectly on Gingerbread.

I believe it's broken on the FB side of things - I'm using a custom rom and up until the second last version, it used a 'hack' to sync up FB contacts but it's since removed that and putting it in FB's hands.
You could try using FriendCaster instead, it's an FB replacement app that seems to have working contacts sync.

[Q] Google calendar and birthdays

has any one else noticed that since you installed the new stand along google calendar app from the Play store that your "birthdays" calendar no longer shows properly on your phone?
I have a few calendars installed to show in my calendar (holidays, birthdays) and they still show properly on the web version on my computer, however, for some reason, it is just the birthday calendar that no longer is visible on my phone in the google calendar app. My Canadian holidays still show though.
I already tried to unsubscribe and re subscribe but no luck.
Any suggestions

[Q] S Planner app not syncing

Hey fellow XDA members!
I have the following problem. When using the S Planner app which comes with the 4.1.2. Samsung ROM, my phone won't sync the calendar with gmail (see the attached screenshot). Everytime I put an event in the S Planner app I make sure that the gmail calendar is checked, so that's not the problem. The contacts and gmail sync works without a problem, so there is no problem with the connectivity or something.
The strange thing is when I install the official Google Calendar app from the play store, the sync works. All the events I have made in the S Planner are synced to my gmail account. When I delete the Google Calendar app, the sync doesn't work anymore.
Can someone check if you have the same bug? I am on NeatROM v4.1 but on NeatROM v4.0 I had the same problem. I really want to find out if the problem is related to the ROM, the app itself, my phone or something else. I know I can use other calendar apps, but I like the S Planner app that comes with Samsung....
Thanks in advance peeps! Any solution will be appreciated...
Greetings,
Faraaz
You need to set your google account as the calender sync in S Planner. If not it will only sync with Samsung "My Calendar" account.
My google account is already set up in the S Planner app. Eveytime I put an event in the app I make sure that the google account is selected, so it must be something else...

Google Account Sync Error???

Hello crew,
So I have my HTC One working fine, but today I noticed something that sporadically I've been noticing very much: every time I enter the Account Settings, I notice that there is always a Sync Error on my Google account. I only have one Gmail account added on my phone and everything else (twitter, tango, WhatsApp...) seam to all sync just fine.
I've tried troubleshooting this in the past but no luck. Here's what I have enabled on my Gmail account Sync:
App Data, Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, Drive, Gmail, Google Currents, Google+, Google+ Auto Backup, People Details, Sound Search for Google Play and Tasks. All seam to be working just fine.
Any suggestions or ideas on how to clear this error?
Note: I have a virgin phone: no unlocks, no root, no 3rd party customization.

Did you ever get this fixed? I am having the same issue with Google Account showing a sync error all the time.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
I have seen this on my HTC one after flashing a nandroid more that a few hours old.
Deleting the gmail account and re-adding it fixes it for me.
try removing your Google account and then reboot and readd it again.
Im having the same issue as of yesterday
Edit: Found how to resolve this.........http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42257807&postcount=7
On you PC go to: https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard
Under Account -> Connected applications and sites
Delete all HTC ones by clicking the revoke button on the right side.
Remove your account under sync under your phones settings.
REBOOT
Re add your google account
DONE
