HTC ONE Preorder from $99 - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

HTC One 4G Android Smartphone for Sprint preorders from $100 + free shipping
For current Sprint customers, Wirefly is taking preorders for the HTC One 4G Android Smartphone for Sprint for $119.99 with free shipping. (A 2-year contract extension is required.) That's the lowest total price we could find for an upgrade by $80. The HTC One features a 4.7" 1080p touchscreen LCD, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 32GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, HTC UltraPixel rear-facing camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p video recording, 4G connectivity, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.1 OS (Jelly Bean), and more.
For new customers with a 2-year contract, Sprint offers preorders of the phone for $99.99 with free shipping. That's a price low for new contracts by $20. It's scheduled to arrive on or around April 19.

The thing with wirefly, like radioshack, the ESN is tagged to be your account for the full 2 yrs. You can get another phone but the phone can't get another number without you incurring a charge from Wirefly, eliminating any chance of selling it on ebay/craigslist. Just FYI,it is a great price for anyone intending to keep the phone for the full contract

Anybody remembers what happened with the Evo LTE and wirefly last year? It was chaos in these forums. I won't be involved with that this year.

Like david said. Wirefly= absolute disaster. Also if you deactivate or even lose your device in the first 6mo, or downgrade your acct, you get charged rest of retail price.
Beware.

You sure about this? I saw the warnings about deactivating the device within 6mos and changing your plan but not about the ESN being tagged for 2yrs. I'm buying the One off contract since I'm half way through my 2yr contract so I figured I was in the clear.

evo 3d non-upgrade!

Anyone here gonna get the E3D without the upgrade plan besides me? I used my upgrade in order to get my evo last year and i think imma just buy the E3D full price and sell my old evo. So that next year when the new awesome phone comes out i can upgrade for that!
Yes, yes I am - without hesitation.
So am I. I last used an upgrade for a palm pre in jan 2010. I went full price on my evo in June and I'm going full price again because my contact expires in november.
I think I am going to wait on this one. No doubt the EVO 3D will be an awesome phone, but I don't feel the need to go out and get one on launch day like I did with the EVO and the Palm Pre before that. I am still very happy with my original EVO even though the next generation of phones is starting to come out.

I'm pretty sure we can still upgrade after 1 year, the only difference being you get a $100 subsidy instead of $200.

x2, Evo is still running strong and it does everything I need it to. Plus I'm not about to pay 400-500 dollars for a new phone since I'm still under contract.
I used my upgrade last June when EVO came out, and I will become a silver premier effective 4/1, which is not eligible for a new line discount upgrade after 12-month service anymore (only premier gold can upgrade at a discounted price).
Just spoke with a Sprint rep, he said that I can change my plan to $89.99 before 6/1, which is my 12-month upgrade eligibility point, then I will become a gold premier automatically and get a discounted upgrade. Changing plan will not reset the 2-year agreement, so I can upgrade my EVO on 6/1 after changing the plan in May. Of course if EVO 3D comes out before 6/1, I'll be sad...
Edit: Correction - it looks like I need to stay with $89.99+ plan with at least 3 months, which means I need to change my plan now...
I thought u had to be on that for three months?

Yeah, I just saw that... that rep must have forgotten to mention that. darn it.
Well, the only way is to change the plan now, so that it becomes ~3 months by the time my 12-month point comes...
I'll just use my upgrade every year as I will have premier gold for being a 10yr sprint customer
My yearly upgrade (Premier Gold) is in Feb, and last year I used it (without thinking) on the Hero, then three months later the Evo comes out, and the Hero is old news.
I specifically bought my Evo used knowing that the new phones would be released this spring/summer.
So yeah, certainly going to use my upgrade this June.
Guys, here's a great hint: Use wirefly.com to buy it. You can get a full discount even when you're not eligible for an upgrade
The catch? They charge you a $200 ETF on top of Sprint's ETF. BUT, even with wirefly's own ETF, the phone would still cost less than full price.
Not worth it to have a second contract with wirefly.

Yeah, looks like I'm either going to have to buy it outright, or use the $75 discount for one-year upgrades.
I just labeled an envelope titled Evo 3d. Assuming it drops in roughly 12 weeks, and that it will be about 500 bucks. That's 41 bucks a week in the envelope, and by june, ill be buying an Evo 3d.

sweet!! ......
If we change now to $89.99 plan to get the Premier Gold to get the 12 mo. upgrade, is there something stopping us from dropping the plan back down to $69.99 after the upgrade? I def don't need a bigger plan, I probably use less than 50 min a month with the free mobile to mobile.
I'm going to have to wait until it's released to employees.... If Sprint follows the same guidelines that they did for the original EVO, probably not until November or so.

[Q] Radio Shack $75 smartphone trade in

I have called two Radio Shacks about this and not surprisingly they were clueless on the details. From the Radio Shack site:
Trade-in offer good 6/24 - 7/31/2011. $75 offer valid on select smartphones only. To be eligible, the phone must power on, cannot be PIN locked and must be in fully functional, working condition without any broken components, including, but not limited to, cracked display. In addition, the cell phone housing or casing cannot be cracked or broken, and neither the display nor the housing can exhibit any signs of liquid damage: Limit 1 per customer.

My Hero that has been beat to **** actually meets that criteria and I'd take $75 for it in a heartbeat. So...which phones are the "select smartphones" they reference? Is the Hero one of them?
When I called RadioShack, the guy I spoke with said the store has a list of phones 'guaranteed' to get $75 and that it was 'quite a few'. Unfortunately for me, an old HTC Touch Pro2 was not on that list .
I've been wondering the same thing because I would trade it no doubt for $75
if the list has been published, it'd be helpful! I have a htc snap, touch pro, centro, htc vogue that i'd love to get rid of for $75... total
Actually have a Question for you guys, if I take a Samsung Epic today will they traded in for a Gift Card?
The trade in right know is 140 for the Epic 4G... What do you think?
BTW.. The Epic is not in my name, it was a gift but it cannot be activated because the person has not pay the last bill, and the phone shows active.

Radio shack told me that my cdma hero would only get $52 Max from their buyback program. However, the guy seemed to be clueless as it took him 30 minutes to complete 2 Evo 3d preorders.
Can someone please post the $75 list if you have it?
Also, does it mention anything about the trade ins being stock/rooted?
EDIT. Signing up for RS email gets you a $10 off coupon. Maybe/maybe not work for Evo 3d as it says "May not be valid on certain other discounts." Whatever that means... worth a shot, I guess.
2.3.4 on a Hero? Yup
I just checked out my local RadioShack on 3rd Avenue in New York City and they had the list of cell phones that qualified for the $75 credit. Unfortunately the HTC Hero was not listed
See attached picture for the complete list posted at this RadioShack.

Sprint has their own buyback program that you can use as a credit toward you account. They are currently offering $150 for the original EVO! I'm using that and my $45 "stay with us" credit they just gave me on top of my upgrade...which will land me the 3D for $5! Check Sprint's buyback program and see how much they will give you for your phones: https://secure2.sprintbuyback.com/consumer/
They also accept phones from other carriers...

I paid $450 for the EVO on launch day because I bought the Hero on it's launch day with my upgrade and wasn't eligible for an upgrade in June when the EVO launched...I couldn't stand one more moment with the Hero! Sprint gave me $80 for it a year ago...win-win if you ask me!

So I will be buying this phone cash no upgrade. Where should I go? I see it on sprint for 550 but everywhere else has the non upgrade price higher. I would have thought bb would see it cheaper than sprint.
Do you think any of the sprint stores will even have any on the 18th lol.

Amazon.com may have good deals
but if your trying to stay away from the internet. AAFES aka The Exchange, but you have to be in or know someone who is in the military
If you are buying it out right because you are not due for an upgrade for a while keep this in mind, I was going to cancel my contract early then restart with a new 2 year agreement to get the upgrade price and when I told a Sprint rep that that is what I wanted to do, he said that if I pay $45 that it will give me an early upgrade elegibility and so I did it and I preordered the Evo and now wait for tomorrow for the release might wanna see if you can do that instead of payin all that money to get it off contract. This is legit at least in my case, I don't know if it work for everyone but it did for me. Worth a shot!
But keep in mind it will restart your 2 year agreement....your choice!
I am eligible for a upgrade. I just dont want to be on contract. With all the stuff Sprint has been taking away and them rolling out LTE Alot more could change soon.
I have been with them for 14 years and I have put up with there slow data speeds for the unlimited thing. But My GF has t-mobil and her speeds blow sprint away in my area (3g and 4g). On top of that she pays about 30 less then me a month. She only gets 5gb of data but I use wifi a lot and never really go over 3gb... Sooooo It might be worth it to change...
I'm planning on buying as an upgrade, but I missed pre-ordering so I'm going to buy from a physical store hopefully on release day. Anybody know if all sprint stores are going to have the phone available to buy on shelves? Or would it be better to try buying at Best Buy...?
If you buy the phone full price you'll pay 550. If you do a contract, get the phone for 200, cancel the first month and pay 350 etf, you've basically paid the same amount. Might as well go on contract
That's true .... I have been with them so long I forgot about etf..... so should I get it at sprint or best buy? I have also bought with sprint...

Evo lte will not work on t mobiles network from what I read. They are different frequencies.
**** Apple, I won't buy anymore of their products. They delayed the release of a better phone.
Well if the lte does not roll out like they say it will... Or they dump unlimited data.. I will pay the etf and then sell the phone on eBay... That way I can get on tmobil or ever is cheaper... My bill is like 130 a month on sprint and my gf pays around 100 after everything... Now that only 5gb of data but still more than enough for me...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
What do you get with 130? With mobile to mobile minutes being free, I barely get to 100 on my plan and pay about 80 a month

The only way is you have to buy out your ETF on your line. I payed out mine last week, $160 per line and bought two new EVO 4G LTE's from Sprints EVP program at upgrade price. Even if you don't have EVP it is the same thing, call in *2 and tell them you want to buy out your ETF so you can upgrade your phone.
I have two lines and I keep them on a rotation. My mom uses the other line and every other year her phone upgrades. Like wise on the years hers doesn't mine does.
I use both upgrades and I get a new phone every year handing down my old phone to her. If she doesn't like my phone, I buy her a cheaper one at full price...they cheap ones are only about $150 bux max for a refurbished one.
The first time I tried this, they had the policy that I had to switch numbers with her, but they have since gotten rid of that policy. Shhhh, don't tell anyone.

I didn't "Work them over" I took advantage of an offer they have to buy out the remaining 10 months of waiting on my upgrade.
Once you get to 1 year left it costs about $115.
Considering I was going to TRY to find a used EVOLTE for around 350 when it hit that price, I beat that out by a few bucks (115 +200)
I plan on waiting for my 1 year mark. My 3D has been restarting randomly about once or twice a week for some reason. I'm not rooted and I've restored the phone twice already. I plan on getting it replaced and then selling it. Whatever I make will be used to pay for ETF and hopefully some of the new phone. Gonna wait to see the SG3 and then decide what I want.
Worst case scenario: They just fix my 3D and I sell it with only enough to cover ETF.
Best case scenario: They replace my 3D with an Evo LTE muahahahha!

If you got a launch 3D, sprints etf was alot cheaper then, I think it was around 200 for an etf vs the 350 it is now, so in that respect you should consider when you bought it and see what's up

Or, you can wait until the insurance companies offer the EVO LTE as a replacement device and get it for only $100...or even free. I know for the Evo 3D it happened relatively quick. I think in just 3-4 months after it's release.

That's exactly what I'm saying, if any changes have been made to your plan though they probably tried to tack on the new etf, sprint did that to me when I took my dad off my account. I had to call retention to get it back.

Save more with pre-order
Back in a bout february, Best Buy mobile held a promotion where you attached your email address to all lines that were available for upgrade in 2012. Later, when you upgrade, you get a $50 gift card which you can use towards the purchase. Additionally, they give another $50 for pre-ordering.
In short, I'm paying $100 for my EVO LTE, and using my sisters upgrade, (She can just wait till October or I'll give her my E3D, Its way better than the Optimus she's running on.

Correct.
Taken from the Sprint ETF Page:
If you've entered into a two-year contract after Sept. 9, 2011 and choose to terminate or cancel your service before your contract ends, you will be charged an early termination fee of up to $350/line for Advanced Devices & up to $200/line for all other devices. No early termination fee applies for cancellations in compliance with Sprint's Return Policy.
The early termination fee is prorated and is calculated by taking the months remaining on your Service Agreement times $20 for Advanced Devices, with a maximum of $350, and minimum of $100. For all other devices, the prorated ETF is calculated by taking the months remaining times $10 with a maximum of $200 and minimum of $50.
Use the charts below to calculate your exact early termination fee. If you are cancelling multiple lines on your account, calculate the remaining number of months on each line, locate the corresponding amounts and add them together to reach your total. If you entered into a contract prior to Sept. 9, 2011, use the other devices chart to calculate your exact early termination fee.
Also keep in mind you can usually sell your 1 year old Smart phone for $200-ish no contract if in mint shape. Mine are always in mint shape
So it generally will never cost more than $200 or so a year to stay current.
I passed my 3D on to my wife (which Sprint just replaced with a brand new one) and used her upgrade for the LTE.
So do you just call Sprint and tell them you wanna pay the ETF and go month to month off contract? I'm assuming that would allow you to upgrade for 2 more years at 199 for the Evo LTE.
I have the Best Buy buyback on my E3D, so I can essentially get the Evo LTE for free since they will give me about $240 in credit for it
good read here on it. I am very tempted, but I feel as if a functional sense 4.0 rom will be enough to hold onto the 3d for another year.

HTC Evo 4G LTE Early Upgrade [Details]

My father works at a top call center for Sprint. He handles early upgrades for customers.
This is what he told me when he got off work:
Sprint is now doing "early buy-upgrades"
***DEPENDING ON HOW FAR OUT YOU ARE FROM YOUR ORIGINAL CONTRACT ENDING*** you pay a fee + the cost of the phone (nationally advertised new customer price, i.e. $199.99 for the Evo LTE).
Example: I asked my dad, I'm 10 months out from my contract ending, how would I go about obtaining the Evo LTE.
Response: If you're within 3 months, $45 early buy upgrade fee. Since you're 10 months out, $95 upgrade fee. This early buy upgrade fee is billed to your account. The cost of the phone, ($199.99) MUST BE PAID UPFRONT. No billing hardware device costs to the account.
In other words, for me (10 months out), it would cost $95 (billed to account) + $199.99 for the Evo LTE (paid upfront).
EDIT: In other words, you're essentially paying a scaled fee to reset your eligibility. Of course, if you choose this option, your contract resets, and you won't be eligible again for another 22 months (as usual).

I've heard about people doing this but they didn't say anything about having to actually buy the phone right then and there. Hmmm...

My father told me Sprint STOPPED billing hardware/device costs to accounts. Too much fraud was occurring.
Example: bill the Evo LTE to account, pay early termination fee. You keep phone.
what people have to remember is that, NOT EVERYONE IS AVAILABLE TO DO SO. this is for select customers (of course, the majority will be eligible, go figure). You need to call and verify that you are available to do so, if you are, you have to make sure you don't have to go through telesales. If they tell you you are, tell them to put notes into your account letting retail stores know that you have chosen this option otherwise they will look at you like your an idiot...just saying. I was a tech for Sprint for a while. I have had to deal with customers all pissed off because some information was lost on the way through word of mouth.. ITS ANNOYING not having all the facts. plus it speeds up your process within the stores... food for thought

It says to buy out the contract if your between 18-20 you'll pay 100 which gets biilled and pay upfront the 199.99 for the smart advanced phones non advanced is 50 so....which basically $300 but if u sell your phone then surely it would cost u maybe 150 give or take

Not sure if anyone knew this, but this was happening last year with the EVO 3D.
For that price you can go out and Buy a Design or EVO 3D on boost mobile straight up. And have a decent phone with no contract and cheaper bill and it would only continue to go down every 6 months if you paid your bill on time. If you step back and think about it. Its really crazy the things we all do just to get these new phones.......digital heroin
Or go out and spend $300 for the Virgin Mobile (HTC Evo V 4G) version which comes with Ice Cream Sandwich on it stock. Which is what I did so I spend a whopping $35 a month

This makes no sense what so ever.. you could loose your plan which sprint will no loner honor. Also extending by two more years? Whats to say a better phone wont come out by the time your contract is up? I'm just saying if you want the upgrade it makes sense to buy it rather than add 2 years.. just my two cents.
OK this is weird. So I bought an EVO 3D at launch for $199. I expect to get a new phone in 2013.
I get a call from Best Buy on saying I'm eligible for a new phone. I'm like right.. that's next year.. didn't think about it.
Go online to pay my bill.. I see a ! next to my number and it says You qualify for a great price . I click on the link and it takes me to the phones with the 2 year discount pricing.. I click on any of the links and I see a 2 year agreement upgrade discount.
I click on my contract details on my account screen and I see that my contract is up on 6/1/13
So, even though my contract is up next year, I qualify for the 2 year discount price right now.. .
I am confused...
Great News!

I know one thing, I was ready to shell out the full price for the EVO 4G LTE but after reading this, I am on calling Sprint tonight to see if I'm eligible and will be upgrading tomorrow if I am.
I usually only but my phones from Sprint but does best buy have better deals?

How's their service though?

Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network to provide their service. I'd think that'd make it identical. My VM Evo V 4G (which is the Evo 3D with a different name) even has the Sprint logo unlike my older VM phone which had the Virgin Mobile branding on it. The $35 plan I mention is their 450 minutes talk "unlimited" internet, which is sort of amusing since the fine print says 3/4G data is limited to 2.5G. But still, I figure I break even vs. Sprint with a Evo 3D is 9 months assuming Sprint gives me the phone for free. Where I live there is no 4G (WiMax) service with LTE nowhere on the horizon so its an excellent choice for me.

This is almost correct... Virgin Mobile runs on the Sprint network, but with limited roaming abilities... So, if you have Sprint, you can roam on Verizon/Alltel, US Cellular, ect... With Virgin Mobile, they don't extend the same roaming contracts. You may be able to roam, but it's much more limited.
Hell no. I will not pay for early upgrade! I was sold a 4g phone that never saw it! I will let my contract end and go m2m! Last time sprint fists me dry! I wanna be a to leave free and clear once I get fed up with sprint data being unlimited slow! It's like saying drink all you want but use this thimble!!

if you where to go thru with this early upgrade, would you be able to sell your old phone back to sprint knocking off the price of the new phone? just a rumor not for sure but i hear you could get up to $300 for the 3d.. <===just a rumor dont take my word on that!
