I've been trying to port this. It installs then boot animation loops. Then I heard you can build on a 32 bit with some patches and modifications. But it may take overnight to build if it doesn't error out. Anyways glad you got it up and running. Gonna give this a try.

Ack why don't you have 64bit?

I had this 32 bit pc for years. Plan on buying a 64 bit with at least 16 GB ram this summer. Right now I'm saving money up to take the family to see the parents and to attend a friends wedding.
But to stay on topic. ROM is running smooth. No issues here. If anybody's wondering why weather isn't working in cLock widget. I heard its because Yahoo changed their weather API. There should be an updated apk floating around XDA somewhere.

download the theme but cant apply it

As soon as I just get used to using PIE you gotta give me this? Ugh killing me Jamie.
Can Pie be used with this? I see it is CM based, wonder if it is incorporated or not. Will have to download and try it out.

you have to move the theme to ChaOS/theme
i think i either reboot or cleared cache on the theme app, but you have to do one of them for the theme to show after moving it there.

no they put some code in that any device with cap buttons auto disables pie, but LMT launcher gives you pie

The one question I do have. Does this have the People or the Contacts app? I know the contacts app used with the CM build doesn't have the ability to set ringtones for individuals. But the People app does. Kinda why I am sticking with the ParanoidKANGdroid. I have the option to set ringtones for when they call and use my CustomSMS for text tones.
I can get around using Pie and the Sidebar as I have grown accustomed to. But I like the People

ChaOS for mutiple devices

** Reserved **
There have been a lot of changes to ChameleonOS since we released our first public beta, version 0.6, and we decided it was time to push all these changes out as an official release of version 0.7.
So what's new?
Bug fixes
Better compatibility with MIUI themes
Updated home screen previews with a cleaner look
ChaOS Launcher gestures
Use a second finger to scroll through home screens when moving a shortcut or widget
Stretch home screens to the edges of the display
Themes can now override system values on a per-app basis
New scan media toggle for forcing the system to scan for newly added media files
Removed permissions manager icon to reduce clutter. You can still access permissions via settings.
App sidebar - access your apps from anywhere without needing to go back to the launcher. To enable go to Settings -> System -> App sidebarApp sidebar customizations include sort order, size (small, normal, large), transparency level, and exclude apps from being displayed.
Lots of changes for various devices to keep the builds coming and the ROM running smoothly might have missed something here but these are the major changes that have been added since our initial release. Those of you running nightly builds may already have enjoyed some of these features. We have more to come so make sure to check back regularly for updates.Make sure to head on over to*our*downloads*page and grab the 0.7 build for your device!

Very interesting, but there is already a ROM called Chameleon.
This can lead to confusion

I am sorry you feel that but i think the ChameleonOS name should not be confusing at all.
Specially since this is a source 4.2.2 based build, while the ChameleonROM is based of sammy.

tv out ????
Confusing between Chameleon OS(CM10.1 and MIUI hybrid, 4.2.2) and Chameleon ROM(Sammy XWLS8 and AOKP hybrid, 4.1.2)
Nice one. Love the theme support.
My two cents:
1. (You may) Name the title of the thread to ChaOS ROM. Just to avoid the confusion.
2. Add goo manager in next nightly to track the newer version
Al though comes with new version of cm kernel; Yahoo api for clock does not seem to work.
Thanks again.

1, The subject of the thread is a fixed one we at the ChameleonOS community has set to make it easier for us to track all the threads across several forums and several threads on XDA/rootz etc.. if you search for this subject you will see that there is multiple threads for several devices just here. and using the same on google will return a even higher result from several different forums.
2, I will relay the idea about including goo manager in the next nightly but not entirely sure if that will happen.
Absolutely. It was just my humble opinion.

Just noticed that since 6/18, no more nightlies come out. is it stopped ?
Anyone has a mirror of latest cos-0.7-20130622-NIGHTLY-encore.zip ?
goo.im seems to be forever showing a "We are currently experiencing difficulties with one or more of our distribution servers. Please hang tight for this to get resolved".
TIA.
Strangely the Download count on goo.im keeps going up every few minutes but the 'experiencing difficulties' and no download happens- at least for me.

Nope, but we only release nightlies if something has changed. That way everybody isn't wasting time on pointless flashes. As we get more devs going we'll have more changes too.

Took almost forever to finally manage downloading the 0622 ROM and it's a fantastic one, was worth the wait. :good:
This is the best performing ROM on the Nook Color. One problem, Netflix doesn't work. The program always stops responding when I open it. I tried modifying the build.prop to change what type of device it sees and that didn't change anything. I also tried to install the Xposed frame work and netflix hack that worked on my last ROM on the color and that just FC Loops both the chaos and the android UI making the tablet unusable. Luckily I made a back-up before I did that so it was quick and painless.
Not sure what needs to be done but if you can roll Xposed framework into the app the CM10.1 Netflix hack for it might just work.
This ROM was my worst ROM experience on the NookColor. Not only was Netflix broken, the tabletui settings were glitched. The ROM was slow and I got lots of FC's The launcher sucks, the tabletuiish settings layout was confusing, the lock screen was often glitchy, and the screen would flash while sleeping, the theme settings were confusing, and, although this may not seem like a big deal, the little ugly chameleon guy on the lock screen was not centered on the splash animation.
OVERALL: This ROM sucks. Go get mateorods AOSP for the smooth experience this ROM pretends to offer.

This is totally opposite to my experience. I have both cm 7.2 insd card and this rom in emmc. This rom with version 0.8 beta is almost as responsive as 7.2.tabletui works perfectly, better than auotopatcher. Almost everything works. Netflix 1.8.1 works too. I prefer use this rom daily because it is more convenient.
No fcs at all.
For me, this one has performed better on my NC than PA ever did.
I found the rom to be very responsive. The tablet ui was clearly marked experimental, and it is borked, but the ROM is not even at a 1.0 release. For a .8 beta I think it's off to a good start.

Thanks for porting this ... very nice work sir :victory:
There's one bug I just discovered... If you turn off the screen manually, the button backlights stay on. If you let the screen go off by itself, the backlights turn off. I'm working on figuring it out.

I can confirm this also .... going to go over and flash your updated bam and take it for a quick ride ...
Okay I'm not really sure what to do about it... I tried removing the button brightness option from the device tree completely but it seems to have a mind of its own. Unfortunately, ChaOS doesn't have the kitkat sources posted for most of its devices so I don't know how they normally would have it set.

Darn, I was hoping you'd have a quick fix. Ive been wanting to try out ChaOS for some time now. Maybe I'll still give it a go just for kicks.

There have been similar issues on various devices with various ROMs from time to time, I think there's an app in the Play store meant to remedy button brightness bugs. I'm off to school now, hopefully I'll have time to work on it more tommorrow.
Also was having issues with the clock no showing up either in center or side

I'm thinking that's probably an issue with the ROM itself, but I'll look into that as well

Right on. I'm not sure if the theming has been added back into kit kat yet, I haven't played with it too much.
Hey have you seen anything like the button backlight issue I'm experiencing with the ROMs you've built? I thought it had to do with the overlays but now I'm not so sure

There's an overlay in the config file for capacitive button brightness

Absolutely. The reason I haven't done another release it is because I couldn't figure out the button backlight problem so I kind of got frustrated and gave up. My device tree is on my github if you want to use it, just needs to be updated with the latest cm commits.

I'm trying to do the same thing. From a week now I'm trying to set up my build environment and even now compilation is in progress I had some problems with Ubuntu 14.04 but now I on 13.10 it will finish I think(fingers crossed). So good luck in future development! Before me there so much to learn yet but I hope I will share my ROM soon! Cheers!
@yashade2001, what branch? What did you have to do to get this to work? I tried briefly, but there were problems with gcc and my builds always failed.
Great job! Running now. Had to flash supersu 2.01 to get root so i also flashed uber 4.10 7/2 kernel.
Running well so far

Umm, Mike C. said "update your distro" to me then i updated to ubuntu 14.04 lts and not seeing many of errors. Btw ThemeChooser and ThemesProvider are buggy in psd so i deleted that 2 repos from my psd source and downloaded them from cm github (stable/cm11 branch).

Vanir or Carbon Nav bar settings (instead of cm) - Ability to change long press and double press actions.
Power LED light (LED while Charging)
CM Profiles
Lockscreen resecure by shaking
Carbon or Vanir Nav Bar targets (circle) - Disable up icon on Lockscreen when all targets are disabled
Clock to change profiles on alarm/disable Alarm Icon
Change Remix settings Icon to the PA logo (simpler look doesnt stand out in settings menu) - (white on white backgound save to see the icon ) https://raw.githubusercontent.com/P...b43/res/drawable-xhdpi/ic_settings_hybrid.png
Remove the bug report on the remix settings, Looks out of place
Add settings search like CM
Remove bloat (Exchange, Normal email client, live wallpapers, std, etc.... and put the bloat in an addon pack) the bloat never gets updates anyway this will save time on uploads and save my time from having to remove it every time and give a slight speed boost due to less apps being installed.
Quite hours
Black list doesnt belong in the settings menu if it is in the phone settings too.
Battery Life Top Bar on status bar, Option to disable Battery Icon. (Carbon figured out how to do this without removing the icon from the quicksettings)
Things I don't use and I find bloaty (Others may still use them and like them):
- PIE
- Wake Lock Blocker
-Gesture Anywhere
-Resents RAM bar (Looks ugly, Vanirs looks a ton better if you could port that)
-Animations Control for system. listeView,Scrolling, Keyboard
Speed tweaks like my package that includes speed, audio, font, and uber kernel tweaks from various sources including Vanir ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9FlgYaHykCCdkUzZFJhS3JMZWs/edit?usp=sharing)
(Also Removes Bloat *check scripts)
Gapps Preinstalled (I like the stock PA Gapps but I remove the bloat like the magizines app, etc...., and they have a play services fixers to ensure that the right services are installed so you can just pull that out so we wont get errors on boot)
Google Launcher instead of Stock
Android L Pulls (Keyboard, Fonts, Sounds, Boot ani, Wallpapers, herathalon theme)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/theme-herathon-t2800913
Uber Kernel?
Custom Wallpapers?
Maybe more Im not thinking of right now.

Supersu? Did you mean koushik dutta's superuser? Yeah i solved that error by doing these:
1) make sure you got themesprovider and themechooser from cm's 'stable/cm11' branch.
2) go to .repo
3) open manifest.xml
4) delete these lines:
- koush/superuser and
- koush/one more thing i dont remember
5) save manifest.xml
6) go to .repo/projects/external
7) delete koush folder
8) go to your source directory
9) delete external/koush
10) repo sync
11) get koush's repos from another rom source and place them to source dir/external/koush. I got them from aospal kitkat-legacy branch.
Head up, make sure to post the kernel source on your OP or your thread will be locked.
