[Q] HTC Amaze Stuck in Endless Bootloader loop - HTC Amaze 4G

Please help
Here's everything that I did leading up to it: Wiped everything down using 4EXT recovery and did the new stock rom found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206431&page=1
That went fine. Then I put this zip file( http://www.mediafire.com/?nw0qhkjhthsekji) into my external sd. Used Hasoon's tool to relock the bootloader and to use it to recognize the zip file and hopefully install the new radios. Did it according to this:

Bootloader did lock, and it ''checked'' the zip file. Now its just constantly booting into the bootloader and nothing else. What can be done?!

Unlock bootloader again and try booting into recovery. If recovery is gone then reflash 4ext with the aio toolkit then flash a Rom and see if it boots

HTC Amaze 4G Stuck after Relocked Custom Rom
Hi,
I have HTC Amaze 4G Asian Version. I tried to S-Off but failed and did a CWM by a professional while mobile was in following condition a few months ago:-
UNLOCKED
RUBY PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.92.0000

It was working quite properly but I asked for troubles and RELOCK the phone with adb. Now my mobile is stuck on bootloader and neither HTCDEV unlock-token working nor any other kit is working. Any help for me????

Why would you try to lock your boot loader when it's much better being unlocked? Use HTC service to unlock or relock the boot loader it's much safer that way... proceed with the s_off using juopunut bear and flash the official ruu and then the kernel boot image, you'll be out of the loop

[Q] How to s off while stuck in Recovery mode? Please help.

I recently went to change my ROM on my HTC amaze, but after I was finished installing it went to reboot and ever since no matter what I do, it just stays on the white htc screen. The only thing I can get to is into Recovery. I locked boot loader and unlocked it and after doing so I noticed it said S ON. How do I turn s off while stuck in recovery mode? Im using the ZurgRushTemp root but it says that I need my phone in usb debugging mode and I dont know how to do that in recovery mode. If I sound like a total idiot it's probably because I am. Previously I have unlocked boot loader and rooted my phone and downloaded other roms and it worked fine. I have no fricken clue what happened. Please help me.. How do I s off to install another rom while I can only get into recovery mode?
What recovery did you flash?
If its not 4EXT then you need to flash the kernel using fastboot.

just get the stock RUU for your phone. Re-lock your bootloader. Rename what you downloaded to PH85IMG.zip. place it in the root directory of your external SD card. reboot your phone into HBOOT and it should automatically flash the stock recovery and ROM. this WILL wipe your phone clean. then you can unlock the bootloader, root it, flash a custom recovery then a ROM of your choice.

Unlocking the bootloader won't change your phone into s-off. So, what you see is correct.
Forget about ZergRush. It won't work, or necessary at all if you unlocked your bootloader, anyway.
Edit: I forgot to mention. Try 'adb logcat' to see if your phone even gets to the boot sequence. If you see your screen gets filled up with tons of stuff, hit control-c to stop it. Then enter adb logcat > logfile.txt to capture it. You can post it here for someone to take a look.
If you can get into bootloader and/or recovery, your phone isn't in a bad shape at all. If you can access your phone from a pc with adb or fastboot (which, you should have if you've unlocked your bootloader), there are things you can try.
1. boot your phone into recovery and see if you can access it through adb shell. Do you see a shell prompt ('$' or '#' sign)? On the phone, use the mount option to mount system and data partitions to see if they are mountable. You can use 'ls -l' on the shell prompt to look around, if you like.
2. If your phone is accessible, but not bootable, the first thing I would try is to flash a boot image. You probably have one sitting in the pc folder you used to unlock, or hanson's all-in-one tool has it.
3. If you flash a fresh boot image (kernel) and the phone still won't boot up, the next thing I would try is to restore from a nandroid backup. I'm sure you've made a backup before you started, right?
4. If the nandroid restore doesn't work, you can try flashing a stock rom like someone elese suggested. You just copy the zip file, which you download from the stock rom thread in the dev section, to the external sd card, rename it to PH85IMG.zip, and reboot your phone into the bootloader. The phone will detect the stock rom if it's there and asks you whether to install the update or not. Remember to download the correct file for your carrier.
5. If nothing works, come back here and post your result. I'm afraid your phone may have a corrupt nand memory...

You used the wrong image, went about using that ota file incorrectly as well, Oh boy, ite, let's keep our fingers crossed on this.
You said your hboot was 1.93.0002? Correct? If you're s-on, this may or may not work, lets hope it does, since's it practically your only hope, though I wonder what your cid currently is set to.
Since you did s-off, you should know how to use adb. Shut the phone off via battery pull, boot up into hboot then go into fastboot, using adb check your cid via this command: fastboot getvar cid
Let me know what it is when you're done, we'll work from there, hopefully we can get this done.
sorry, forgot to pull sd card so it ran the PH85IMG twice,
the cid is

Cid is 11111111 and you're s-on? Lucky you, well download the mobilicity GB stock ruu exe file, reboot into fastboot and run the file to restore your phone to complete stock GB, hopefully it goes through, though I don't see why it wouldn't, if you're s-on, you'll have to relock your bootloader before doing this.
Thanks! hopefully it'll work
downloading the GB rom from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27704071
going to relock bootloader with the amaze tool.
going to change the RUU to PH85IMG then pray it works!
I'll post an update in this thread, unfortunately the rom takes about 4 hours to download from file factory

You can download the ruu from the ruu/ota thread in the same forum, the dev host upload by krook is much faster.
Do not change the name of that file, it's an exe file, you have to run it via a pc with your phone connected via usb cable in fastboot mode.

It's not technically a RUU but yeah since you're s-off you can flash it. If you're looking to just get the firmware you can flash the separately also.
yes
I installed and everything installed ok but now it just keeps flashing white HTC boot screen.

Did you flash the ZIP file twice in a row? Apparently flashing the PHXXXXX.zip files for ICS don't install everything completely the first time around, you need to do it twice to have a complete install.
It did install twice. I bought this phone used and it already was unlocked with s-off but wifi wasnt working. I was able to flash the gb ruu and the phone is working again but wifi is still broke. I really need somebody that knows what they are doing to tell me what the person before me did. I have had no success flashing other roms either.
Do a factory reset. That should clear up the wifi issue.
I did that with no luck.

Yes you can flash the RUU. Then after that use the jbear modified hboot and you can flash kernels and recoveries via fastboot without having to unlock the bootloader.
I already tried flashing the newest ics ruu and my phone would just keep rebooting from the white HTC screen. I even tried a factory reset.
Every rom I try to flash I just get boot loops. I just installed clean rom with gingerbread patch and it will boot up, then restart, then act like it is going to work and then restart. It even gets to activating and then just keeps rebooting.
The bootloop sounds like a kernel issue, but if you are installing the RUU it should be fine. Maybe you have a bad download. Did you check the MD5?

[Q] No stock recovery

I ran the RUU for 1.22 and I am back to complete stock but the stock recovery did not install. I tried to flash a stock recovery images from one of the root files I downloaded and it said successful but still no recovery. I'm trying to update to the latest update to 2.13 but will fail. How can I get this to update?
Are you S-On or S-Off? If s-off you could try to ruu to 1.13 and see if that takes care of it.
If s-on have you tried installing another recovery like twrp and then try installing the stock recovery? If thay works ypu can ruu again on 1.22 and see if that makes the stock recovery stick.

Before running ruu you are supposed to re lock the bootloader, after you re lock the bootloader you should have stock everything, in order to flash anything through fastboot you need to unlock the bootloader so that you have access to those partitions again

HBOOT Error "No image!" for PH98DIAG/PH98IMG after JuopunutBear s-off [HTC REZOUND]
I tried to S-OFF my phone using JuopunutBear, and I succeeded with the wire trick, but afterwards my phone would not boot up. I tried booting HBOOT and noticed the following string of errors:

I assume this meant that the kernel was somehow messed up, so I downloaded the appropriate "boot.img" file and tried flashing it using "fastboot flash boot boot.img". It successfully flashed, but the error messages still appear in HBOOT.
I am able to boot into AmonRa recovery, but I get errors at the bottom saying
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p36
(File exists)
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command
...
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log
...When I try to restore from my nandroid backup that I made prior to attempting to root/s-off, I get an error
E:Couldn't open directory /sdcard/nandroid/I believe this error is because of the problems in the kernel (PH98DIAG/PH98IMG files).
I cannot flash a zip from the sdcard because both the sdcard and internal_sdcard appear as completely empty no matter what I do. I have tried and successfully performed an "adb push ROM.zip /" command to put the rom onto the sdcard, but the file would not show up in AmonRa when I tried to flash a zip.
I have tried using all of the commands under the "Wipe" menu in Amon Ra. I have tried formatting data, system, and cache as both Ext3 and Ext4. I have tried using the "FACTORY RESET" command when in HBOOT. I have tried re-installing AmonRa recovery, and I have tried all of these same things using CWM, as well. None of them have produced any forward results.
I am at a loss of things to try to restore my phone to any working state... please help! I just want my phone working again at this point, rooted or not.

Thanks so much for the help! I was able to just copy the ROM file I wanted to the external SD card once it was in the PC. I reformatted the SD card first. I flashed the ROM from recovery, and it worked. When I was in recovery and hboot, it still gave me the same error messages, however. Does this mean there is still something wrong with the kernal on the internal SD card? Is there a way I can check to see if the internal SD card is working?
Thanks!

Re: HBOOT Error "No image!" for PH98DIAG/PH98IMG after JuopunutBear s-off [HTC REZOUN
When you boot to hboot it always checks for a PH98IMG.zip first and if it's not there you get regular bootloader access, if it is there you get the option to update.
You said you flashed the rom, so did you get booted ok?
Are you trying to flash something via PH98IMG.zip?
If you're s off any of the current roms have the kernel included and you just wipe completely, flash the rom and reboot.

The PH98IMG.zip you used is an older RUU. You need on with hboot 2.25 or newer in it since you are s-on. Since you are in India, I assume you cannot take Verizon OTA updates. So best bet is to download one of the mirrors linked below for global RUU.

1. Download the fastboot tool from Slacker101 and save it to desktop of your computer.

2. Plug in the phone via USB cable to your computer.
3. Go to Settings > Developer Options > Make sure USB Debugging is checked ON.
4. Open the folder called tools and hold shift on your keyboard and right click in a blank area in the folder. Then select Open Command Prompt Here.
5. When the command prompt opens, type the following with hitting enter at the end of each line:
adb reboot fastboot
fastboot oem lock

Hi, so Im this complete noob in the android department and I really need help. I have a Verizon HTC rezound 4G LTE (Korean) and its running on JB( I really dont know which ROM is it). now the thing is that as I got this from someone who was a noob himself, he didn't update the sense so its basically 3.6. I researched a bit and tried updating but my recovery would not detect the file(bootloader's unlocked though). I tried rooting the device but it said I needed something called and insecure boot image which I tried flashing but the bootloader failed to detect the img file.I really dont know what to do at the moment.
my software details:
android version-4.2.1
sense version-3.6
sofware number-4.03.605.2 710 RD
kernel version-3.0 16-g480e1b0 htc [email protected]#1
baseband version- 2.22.100801r, 2.22.10.0803r
Again, I apologize for my stupidity. help would be really appreciated

your version of sense is in the rom...you cant update the sense as its packed inside the rom...if you want updated sense...get a custom recovery and flash a newer sense rom like sun_dreams sense 4.5

Hboot 193.222 can only be installed on s-off devices. It's the hacked engineering version.

You've been around for awhile, so you should know these things. Now you are what, s-off or s-on? It's normal to only be able to flash the image with your phone relocked. Was it a T-Mobile US or another version? Did it have JB or ICS? If it didn't already have ICS and it's an Asian or unbranded phone you need s-off and to get s-off you need to be on the stock RUU. If it's s-on and not a T-Mobile US phone and you installed the T-Mobile RUU, the radio and kernel probably didn't flash or you have a CID mismatch which is keeping it from booting.
Remember the steps to take for Asian or unbranded Amazes, is to first get s-of then SuperCID then flash the T-Mobile RUU. If it wasn't already on ICS you're going to have to go back to GB and start over, so you can get s-off.

So it is a T-Mobile US Amaze and you previously had received and installed the OTA which got you to hboot 1.93.003. It worked fine this way for three months until you had the problems. Am I correct?
yes

That's not good. If it had been working well and then all of a sudden from out of nowhere it started behaving badly during a call, and you weren't in the process of doing anything else to it, then that leads me to believe that it's a hardware problem.
hardware problem. even
1- it install from boot-loader any thing
2-hboot now just now i make it 1.93.003
3-i flash ph85img from fastboot about 14 confirm ok
4-i can lock or re unlock
but at all stuck at logo & also try to downgrade to jb but i can not
That make me sad
But thanks at all man
I still have one work so I still amazed

Unlock your bootloader if it's locked and put 4ext recovery image inside a zip renaming at as recovery and name the zip as PH85IMG.zip and flash it from bootloader and get into recovery and flash a stock amaze rom and do s-off.. I've seen this problem once the hboot 1.93.003 it's a issue .. S off and flash a RUU and it'll work perfectly again..

Bootloader comes before HTC white screen. Put PH85IMG.zip on root of sd card. Reboot to bootloader. If your bootloader screen says "Fastboot AC" put the selector on "Bootloader" and press the power button--it will search for, find, flash PH85IMG.zip.
It will tell you when done, at which point you can reboot into recovery and follow raivke14's instructions.
